The trade war between China and the US is one sided. The Americans are
calling all the shots and winning. The Americans are telling the world
and themselves that China’s economy is suffering but the American
economy is doing just as well, very well in fact, not affected by the
trade war at all. If you believe in the American rhetoric, Chinese
economy is going to crumble and China would go down on its knees to beg
for mercy.
Is this the truth? Look at the numbers. Yes the Americans are putting
more tariffs on Chinese exports to the US. So China must be selling less
to the Americans and worse, China is paying for the tariff hike imposed
by Trump. However, the statistics said otherwise. China US trade
balance in favour of China has increased in the last 6 months, ie China
is selling a lot more to the US or at least in value terms. Should this
be negative or positive to the Chinese economy?
Next, American companies are not allowed to sell the Huawei, their
biggest customers and losing billions in revenue. Is this positive or
negative to China’s economy or to the American economy? Not selling to
Huawei means no revenue for the Americans.
And China has stopped buying the soya beans, meat, poultry, sea food,
wines and many other things from their American suppliers. So, is this
good or bad for the American economy? Produces not selling, rotting away
in the warehouses.
Just on these 3 points alone, whose economy is suffering more? Whose
economy is more affected by the trade war? Yes, the Chinese economy has
shrunk by 0.3%, from 6.5% to 6.2%. The American economy not affected at
all, but getting better!
Really? What happened to the farmers, the food producers, the electronic
component manufacturers? What happened to the billions of revenue that
are not coming in? Why are the farmers and electronic/computer companies
petitioning the US govt to lift the ban, lift the tariff, if the
American economy is doing so well?
Don’t trust the Chinese trade figures, trust the American trade figures and rhetoric. The Americans are winning the trade war!
What you should trust is what is real. What is real is that if the
American economy is so good, why are they going to cut interest rate
towards zero? Does this ring a bell that something bad is happening to
the American economy? When the American economy is doing so well, should
not they be raising interest rate? What kind of economy would live
precariously on the edge of zero interest rate? Healthy or sick economy
in the intensive care unit?
What do you think?

This ignorant teacher must be sacked and...
Below is a post in mothership.sg about an ignorant and full of herself teacher bullying a 9 year old boy in her class and accusing the boy of being misguided and a source of ethnic violence. She is abusing her position as a teacher to attack young children with her twisted views of what is right or wrong, acceptable or unacceptable. She is so ignorant that she did not even know that there is such a thing called beef curry just because her little mind knew that Hindu did not eat beef, so it is offensive to mention beef curry to a Hindu. If this kind of silly and warp thinking and logic are allowed in our schools and society, then many things cannot be said.
This swine of a teacher must be sacked before she does more damage to the children. Her English is half past six at best. She is aggressive and uncultured and inciting violence, telling a child that saying things like beef curry can get him killed. Which backward country would kill a child for saying such a thing?
And if she is a foreigner, send her back to where she came from. MOE please do the necessary and don't sleep on the job. MHA also must act on this before more and more of such rubbish are allowed to create more rubbish and tension in our schools and in our society. The poor boy has been attacked and butchered by this swine teacher in front of her class. The parents of the boy must take up the case with the school and the police for intimidation and verbal assault of a child. A teacher, an adult, bullying a 9 year old child! And some silly cunts with the same kind of mentality said the child's conversation was microaggression on the part of the child. Can you believe that?
Here is the post and tweets from mothership.sg.
A drama teacher in Singapore has taken to Twitter to complain about a nine-year-old student she encountered in one of her classes — only to remove her tweets and account after receiving backlash for her views.
What was she upset about?
Her beef?
A child she was teaching in her drama class had behaved in a manner that was not woke enough and she told the boy off on the spot that it was his type of misguided views that is the cause of ethnic violence.
These were the tweets and the circumstances that led to her calling out the boy’s answers and behaviour:

The issue was also couched as a result of “Chinese privilege“:

China learning how to hit US using the same American tactic
BEIJING: China on Friday (Jul 12) said it
would impose sanctions on US companies involved in a potential arms sale
worth US$2.2 billion to self-ruled Taiwan - a move that has infuriated
Beijing.
"The US arms sale to Taiwan has severely violated the basic norms of international law and international relations," Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said in an online statement.
"In order to safeguard national interests, China will impose sanctions on US enterprises participating in this sale of weapons to Taiwan," he said.

In the case of American bullying and how to retaliate against such bullying, it is better late than never. The Americans have been using unilateral American domestic laws to apply to countries and citizens of other countries for violating American laws. They are applying their laws across national boundaries, a good example is the arrest of Huawei's Meng Wanzhou and several other citizens including Europeans, for violating American sanctions.
It is time that China applies the same modus operandi on the Americans by arresting Americans for violating Chinese laws. China must introduce more of such laws particularly related to Taiwan like selling arms to Taiwan or to China's enemy, unfortunately the latter there is really none for the moment. Maybe one day China could declare a few enemy countries like Japan, Vietnam or some European countries that are hostile to China and any country trading against such countries would be violating Chinese laws or Chinese sanctions. Not only would China not trade with such countries, companies or individuals, but also arrest their citizens, executives and individuals in areas under Chinese jurisdiction. China should sign more extradition treaties with other countries to extend its reach to arrest those that violate Chinese laws and sanctions like what the Americans are doing.
The sanctions should also be slapped on Americans spreading fake news against China or threatening China like Pompeo, Bolton, Pence, Bannon, Harry Harris, Wolfowitz, etc etc so that they could be arrested when visiting Greater China.
China has now reach a state of military parity with the Americans and can take on the Americans when confronted by American military forces. The American power projection tools are the aircraft carriers, warships and military bases overseas. These are now within the reach of Chinese weapons. The American aircraft carriers in the western Pacific are sitting ducks to China's DF 21 and DF 26 anti ship missiles. The range of DF 26 also extends to the Indian Ocean of those warships and aircraft carriers threatening Iran and Chinese ships in the region could be hit should the Americans turn aggressive.
The Americans are not the only one that can play the game. China too can reply. No longer would China sit idly by if their embassies are attacked by the Americans like the one in Belgrade. It would be a tooth for a tooth.
That is the way to go, China.

Fake news, half truth or what?
SINGAPORE (June 14): Prudential’s Barry Stowe, who retired in Dec 2018, was the highest paid CEO among Singapore listed companies in 2018.
Besides being listed in London, Prudential has a secondary listing on the Singapore Exchange since May 2010.
For lifting the international financial services group’s earnings by 26%, Stowe was given a 7.8% hike in compensation to $16.5 million.
In joint second place was Oxley Holdings’ Ching Chiat Kwong and Xu Cheng Qiu, executive chairman of China Sunsine Chemical Holdings, who were paid $12 million each although Xu’s actual remuneration was still pending review by the board and had not been finalised.
Ching’s amount was about 24% lower than the year before, the property developer’s earnings were up 30.7% between FY2017 and FY2018 while Xu’s pay was up 63.8% over FY2017 as the company’s earnings grew 87.9% over the same period.
In fourth place was Dr Tan See Leng of IHH Healthcare who took home $11.9 million in FY2018, 6.7% higher than his FY2017 package. The healthcare group suffered a 35.3% drop in earnings in FY2018 from FY2017. Tan is stepping down by December this year.
Coming in fifth was Piyush Gupta of DBS Group Holdings, the most valuable listed GLC in terms of market capitalisation. Gupta saw a 15.6% hike in his compensation package to $11.9 million for 2018. DBS reported a 27.6% gain in earnings in FY2018 from the year before.
The above is from Yahoo News.
How many of you think the above is inaccurate or an elephant is missing? Masagos Zulkifli advised the public by saying this, ' Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Masagos Zulkifli has taken a stand against fake news, cautioning members of the public to check whether the sources of stories are reliable and legitimate before they share news.'

Software engineers - Cheap is unlikely to be good
Software used in 737 Max crashes linked to Indian software company
Through an investigative journalism work, Bloomberg published an article today (‘Boeing’s 737 Max Software Outsourced to $9-an-Hour Engineers‘, 29 Jun) establishing that the Boeing’s 737 Max software had been outsourced to Indian software engineers working for only US$9 an hour in India, compared with US$35 to $40 for those in the U.S. on H1B visa or more for a full-time US software engineer.Bloomberg also found that Boeing’s subcontractors and suppliers were also outsourcing software work to India, in order to keep the cost down and to maximize profits.
Longtime Boeing engineers whom Bloomberg spoke to, revealed that the problematic Max software which was plagued by issues, was developed at a time Boeing was laying off experienced engineers and pressing suppliers to cut costs. Hence, there was a push to outsource work to lower-paid contractors. This led to the reliance on temporary workers making as little as US$9 an hour to develop and test software, often from countries lacking a deep background in aerospace – notably India.
Two Indian software companies were found by Bloomberg to be linked to the Max software development – HCL and Cyient (formerly known as Infotech)....
Above is posted in TOC.
Two points to make, if you want something to be cheap, don't expect quality or the quality of more expensive stuff. This does not mean that pay more gets more. We have seen and experienced in many areas when you pay more but get less or get shit.
Second point, maybe the Americans are trying to pass the buck to the Indians. So easy to put the blame on other people. Is this the case, are the Americans justified to blame the Indians? They believe the Indians are very good in software, that is why they employed so many of them just like in Singapore. So how can they blame them. You employed them, shit or genius, you asked for it.
My personal experience has not been pleasant, everything they touched becomes unstable and unreliable. From working to half working.
Even if the Americans could prove that it was the Indian software that caused the crash, Boeing is going to pay for the bills and claims. The Americans would not trust the Chinese software engineers that developed Alibaba's supply chain and Alipay systems nor wechat or Baidu. If the users are stupid enough to pick lemons, why blame others?
In the same vein, if Singapore persistently want to bring in trash to work in this island, be prepared to live with trash and half baked systems.
