Singaporeans are like that

Singaporeans are like that. When HDB moved its HQ to Toa Payoh, the flats in Toa Payoh quickly rose in price. I was thinking that people must be so free they will be visiting the HDB headquarters every day
When Raffles Institution moved to Bishan, the flats also rose in value. People living in Bishan must all have children studying at Raffles Institution or hoping to study at Raffles Institution, whether realistic or not.

Oh, not to forget, at one time flat demand was all about upgrading and flat prices in opposition wards fetched lower prices or so they touted. But then, the cat was out of the bag when it was discovered that some flats in PAP wards were even selling at lower prices than opposition wards. And to make matters worse, it later turned out that flat prices in opposition wards were no worse than in some PAP controlled wards.

The straw that broke the camel's back must be the undisclosed fact that even if they carried out upgrading every four years, HDB flat prices will still turn to rubble when it reaches 99 years. That was to be the end of upgrading vote buying scheme. New schemes have now been trotted out and are all about subsidies.
