Covid19 - Trump needs more time/notice to cope with the virus? Complacency or stupidity?

The rest of the world was caught unaware. At least we had some kind of preparation in place, which is why Singapore was so quick to respond in RATIONAL ways.

To the rest of the unprepared world, this is a Black Swan because to them a pandemic was not even on their radar; a true Unknown unknown.

Luck, the human race is quick to learn and pick up the pace once a "real signal" of present danger is detected.

Trump has been criticised for dropping the ball. Not in my calculus. America is a fumbling, bumbling individualistic culture, but they also learn very quickly and have tremendous resources which they can afford to throw at the situation.  By Matilah Singapura


China reported the incident on 31 Dec 19 and followed up with the lockdown of Wuhan, Hubei. When these happened then, there were very few cases outside China.  With the lockdown, the virus in China would not have a chance to get out, and with the 0 new cases in Wuhan today, it shows how effective was the lockdown in Wuhan. Less than 3 months and China was able to contain the virus in China.

The Chinese lockdown gave the world an early warning and bought time for every country to prepare for this. Tedros, head of WHO had been saying this from the very start. But the Americans and the West took no heed. They were smarting at the plight of the Chinese and every day accusing China for starting this virus and lack of transparency. Clown number one, Donald Trump was giggling as if nothing happened and nothing to worry about. Everything was under control in the US and did nothing. Today he is blaming China for being slow in telling the world about the virus. How much time does he need to be called enough time?  This clown and his evil men were laughing and sneering at China's trouble without doing a thing other than making spiteful remarks about China.  See who will have the last laugh.

China isolated and identified this virus for the world to take notice. The virus was all over the world but went unnoticed because no one was testing for it, no one knew about it. There is no chance that this virus could escape from China to spread all over the world in such a short time. There could be a few cases but not all, not the majority of the countries were infected from virus coming from China.

The virus was already there in these countries, especially the USA and Europe. During the crisis in China the Americans and the West were so happy and doing the blame game, that the virus originated from China. Their situation was the same as many countries today that have very few cases. But the more they test the more they will discovere, because the virus is there. The only difference is that they did not know, they did not test.

This virus was prevalent in the USA with many deaths and misdiagnosed as common flu. The Americans have the virus in their stockpile. They used to threaten to use it on Saddam Hussein. Clown Trump and his evil men still stick to their position that the virus came from China and China did not give them enough notice to fight this virus. If you hear what is coming from the USA, they are totally unprepared, did not do anything during the grace period offered by China to do something. They are gravely short of equipment and trained medical stuff to handle this crisis. The same thing is also happening in Europe. It appears not to be serious in many poorer countries not because the virus is not there, but they are not testing, did not have the test kits to do the testing.

The virus is waiting to explode in the USA, in the face of Clown Trump and his evil men and to the American public at large. Stop hiding the fact that the virus originated from ground zero in the USA and blaming on China.

The Republican head of the Senate Intelligence Committee dumped stocks and warned donors of a looming disaster in February even as the White House played down the coronavirus threat, US media reported Thursday.

Senator Richard Burr, who receives almost daily briefings from the US intelligence community on threats to the country, himself wrote on the Fox News website on February 7 that the US government was "better prepared than ever" for the COVID-19 virus, assuring Americans that they were well-protected.

But as President Donald Trump repeatedly said the virus would not hit the United States hard, on February 13 Burr and his wife suddenly sold off at least $582,000 and as much as $1.6 million in stocks, according to the ProPublica media group, citing financial filings.

And two weeks after that, on the same day Trump was telling the public that the 15 cases reported could be the US peak, the North Carolina senator told a private gathering of wealthy donors that coronavirus was a threat like the 1918 Spanish Flu, which killed tens of millions, according to National Public Radio.

NPR obtained a recording in which Burr told the donors that they should curtail their travel, 15 days before Trump shocked the country with a ban on arrivals from Europe.

"There's one thing that I can tell you about this: It is much more aggressive in its transmission than anything that we have seen in recent history," he said on the recording.

"It is probably more akin to the 1918 pandemic."

As the Senate Intelligence Committee chairman, Burr receives much of the same daily reporting on threats to the country that the White House gets, and so he would have been apprised of the government's internal predictions.

On February 26, the day before Burr met with donors, Trump assured the American public: "We're going very substantially down, not up" in the number of infected....

Covid19 - Why China, South Korea, Italy, Iran and Spain?

Top of the charts for having the more people infected by Covid19 are China, Italy, Iran, South Korea and Spain. What they have in common, enemies of the USA. There are obvious reasons to support this conspiracy theory. China needs no further explanation as it has been branded as the Number One Enemy of the USA for daring to upset the status quo dictated by the American Empire. How can any country challenge the USA as the most powerful, the richest, the biggest economy in the world, in fields of science and technology. China must be put down at all cost. The series of deadly diseases across China in continuation, nonstop, is a case in point. The trade war continues beyond just trade but sabotage and biological warfare to cripple the Chinese economy.

It is no surprise that China would have to be the first country to receive the first blow of Covid19 infection, right in the heart of China, in Wuhan, at a time when the Chinese were returning home to celebrate Chinese New Year Reunion with their families. There was no Chinese New Year celebration this year with many Chinese cities being lockdown and the whole nation mustered to fight this deadly and highly infectious disease.

The Americans were laughing haughtily and cockily and blaming the Chinese for starting and spreading this disease and lying to the world, not transparent, hiding the truth and whatever, even calling this the Wuhan Virus, the Chinese Virus, raising anger among the white racists to hate China and Chinese with people of Chinese origin or looking Chinese being attacked and beaten up in western countries. The evil and wicked Americans have succeeded in smearing and demonising China and Chinese. While the truth as to the origin of this dangerous virus is unfolding, and pointing to the Americans and their evil hands, other countries that the Americans were unhappy with also became target of this American Virus created from American Lab, Fort Detrick.

South Korea was the first outside China to be hit severely by this Covid19. It was the second worse affected country for several weeks in terms of number of infection and death. But why South Korea, isn't this the closest American ally in the East, a semi colony of the American Empire? Yes, but the South Koreans are getting too smart for their own good. They wanted to make peace with their Northern brothers, they wanted to get rid of American forces in their soil, they did not want to pay for 'American protection' to have American soldiers and weapons of war in their country. In other words they did not want to serve the interest of the American Empire and paying for it. Now this kind of smart thing is no good. They must be taught a lesson not to play with fire or undermine the interest of the American Empire.

The next severely affected country, you guess it, America's Enemy Number Two, Iran.  All the immediate neighbouring countries of China did not have Covid19 infection or with only a handful of cases. Why and how did the virus leapfrogged to South Korea and Iran, the latter more than a thousand miles away, bridging deserts and high mountain ranges? The virus is very clever and very selective, know where and how to fly to Iran to infect the Iranians. And the strain in Iran is even more deadly than the strain in Wuhan with higher mortality rate.

And from Iran it leapfrogged again to Italy. But why Italy, a Nato member and thus also an American ally? Italy committed the sin of going behind the backs of the Americans to be part of the BRI. Italy is the beach head of China's BRI project into Europe. The Americans tried very hard to twist the arms of the Italians to break off from the BRI project. But the Italians have a mind of their own and see the BRI as the best thing to happen to Italy's economy and future growth. They needed the BRI to boost their dying economy.

Now, how could the American Empire tolerate such defiance from a small European country? There you have it, Italy must pay the price for going against the American Empire. And the Covid19 conveniently sneaked into the heart of Italy's industrial region and the rest is history.

Spain has the same problem as Italy, or committed the same sin, to be part of the BRI. How could Spain be spared? No way, Spain too must be taught a lesson, to tear it away from BRI. There you are, Spain becomes the second most infected country in Europe after Italy.

The moral of the story, do not become an enemy of the evil American Empire. The Covid19 is just a biologicial weapon to inflict the pain on the people and to cripple the economies of those who dare to disobey the American Empire, to have a mind of their own, to want to break free. In fact the whole Europe is part of the collateral damage as Europe, the EU, is embarking on a new path, to break free from the American Empire, to chart its own destiny. This cannot be allowed to go on unchecked.

The Covid19 genie is let out of the bottle to do what it can do best, to protect the interest of the American Empire.

Can Singapore afford a 10m problem when 5m problem is threatening to tear it apart?

Yeoh Lam Keong Singapore’s preeminent economist was quoted in the Nikkei article explaining the PAP ideology as it applies to HDB pricing policy in the following terms:
“The roots of Singapore’s current problems, Yeoh believes, were planted in the 1990s, when its politics lurched rightward. In line with the prevailing neoliberal thinking, the government moved toward a more market-based approach to the pricing and ownership of HDB flats.”
What we have is a systemic failure and we need to recalibrate the balance between unbridled capitalism and the welfare state or socialism; between profits and people.
Our policy frameworks transfers control of economic factors from the private sector and individuals to the public sector creating the imbalance that need to be fixed.
The PAP Government is a prisoner of its own failed policies and unless we vote for a more compassionate Government in place instead of the PAP Government, things will get from bad to worse for the ordinary citizen.

There is a systemic failure and PAP govt is a prisoner of its own failed policies. The key factors in PAP's economic policy is growing the GDP at all cost so that more and more people can be paid in the millions with many doing sweet fuck all and do not deserve the millions being paid to them. It is not easy to justify paying someone in the private sector a million dollar, and it is very dangerous to use public money to pay millions to politicians and civil servants and people working in GLCs. What are the values and contributions of the recipients to make them deserving of a million dollar pay? There are several thousand people being paid a million or more in govt, ministries, stats boards and GLCs. This million dollar pay policy is a big burden on the tax payers, on the budget and finance of the country. The money must come from somewhere and the amount is ballooning annually with more and more million dollar recipients being created.

This leads to the dogged policy of growing the economy at all cost and when all things failed, just pump in more headcounts, more levies and taxes and consumption from foreigners. The 6.9m is only a red herring, 10m is also another red herring. The truth is that this growing the GDP at all cost means that the population must keep growing, keep blowing the balloon, it cannot be stopped or the whole economy and system of million dollar salary will collapse.

The Covid19 pandemic has exposed the vulnerability of Singapore in having a huge population. There is a big issue of food, water, the basic needs that must be provided to a huge population. We can see how treacherous things can be even with 5.6m population. If this Covid19 problem drags on for 6 months or more,  we could be facing serious difficulties to keep the people fed and without jobs, especially the foreigners. All would have to be asked to go home.

For the moment we can count ourselves lucky as the foreigners are not Singapore citizens and could be asked to leave, though the problem is not so simple if they refuse to do so. We would not have the luxury of asking them to leave if they are converted to citizens when we have 6.9m, 10m or more people here.

Can Singapore afford a 10m or 6.9m problem? In a major international crisis, we are not going to get the food we need, the water we need to feed so many mouths. Yes, this is a systemic failure, failed economic policy based on unrestrained growth. No growth means the bursting of the bubble. Continue to push for growth at all cost only kick the can down the road a little further but for how long before the inevitable big bang?

Would there be a rethink on this failed economic policy? Would the PAP govt be able to extricate itself from being the prisoner of this high growth, million dollar salary formula before it is too late?

Singapore needs to seriously relook at the premises and assumption for a sustainable population without risking a total collapse in the future. There will be many problems ahead that would be far more serious than what we are seeing today, a small piece of rock without natural resources and trying to live beyond its severe physical limitations. It is like a case of going for brokes.

Covid19 - Desperation can lead to recklessness. Protect the heartlanders

The lockdown of Malaysia raises the problem of Malaysian workers working in Singapore, commuting daily for decades as a natural order of things that is not natural after all. The lockdown means many businesses would not have their workers to do whatever they are supposed to do. The businesses are desperate, and the govt too is also desperate. No business means no taxes, work not done, contracts not fulfilled, jobs not done, undone, material wastage, machine downtime, redundancies etc etc all leads to losses. The companies cannot afford it, the workers too cannot afford it if they could not get to work.

Now the crisis is how to house these workers in Singapore to bypass the lockdown? Every stone would not be left unturn to find accommodation for these transient workers, could be temporary, but not sure how long. What is frightening is to allow them to invade the heartland, the sacred sanctuary of the Singaporeans, a place that they called home, a place they can feel safe and secured, whether at work or returning home to rest and to be with their families.

There have been many cases of reckless and irresponsible flat owners renting the flats to hordes of sex starved wildlife, men with a lot of hormones to release and living next doors to small Singaporean families, young families, young wives, young daughters without thinking of the safety of these female folks. Even the oldies, the retired and living alone can be quite scary with so many young wildlife, some looking so hostile and wild as their neighbours. The worse hours are working hours when the manfolks are at work. Even if they are home, the tiny weeny specky manfolks are no deterrence to these wildlife.

While everyone is desperate to find lodging for the Malaysian workers, and foreign workers, please be mindful that the safety and security of Singaporean families must not be compromised for their convenience. The HDB heartland is sacred, the safe sanctuary of average Singaporeans. Their homes must not be violated and invaded by strangers and wildlife, especially hungry sex starved men from all over the world, people whose backgrounds are unknown.

How could Singaporeans, especially young couples at work feel safe, not worried when they are not at home and their neighbours are wildlife from God knows where? How can oldies feel safe even at home when their neighbours are burly wildlife that could throw them out of the balcony or gatecrash into their homes? How would the womenfolks and young girls and children feel when being stared at by wild and aggressive men when they move to and from their homes? Why should Singaporeans be made to live in fear, with wildlife as their neighbours?

Be considerate, be mindful, be responsible to the Singaporeans in whatever actions you take, whatever policies you make for short term economic gains that may harm the Singaporeans in their homes, in the heartland.

Do not dump wildlife into the heartland.
Do not violate the homes and neighourhoods of the average Singaporeans.
Do not upset the social balance and tranquility of the heartland.
Do not endanger the safety and security of the heartlanders.

The above is a very informative video clip of a report by the team leader, Bruce Aylward, of WHO that visited China near the peak of the epidemic. The video was done on 9 Mar, the date tells how it was then, and how the world, especially Europe, failed to heed the advices given by Alyward and is paying a very heavy price for it today. The lessons provided by China were never learnt by Europe and instead of preventing more Wuhan, Europe has turned into another Wuhan, not just Italy or Spain. 

What is interesting or disgusting is that Bruce Aylward kept reminding the viewers that though he was the head of the WHO team that visited China, he was not speaking on behalf of WHO. Some asses in WHO must have protested for what he said was in a way praising China's effort in containing the virus. And finally WHO head, Tedros also came out to say the same thing as Aylward, praising China and telling the world to learn from China. This to the West is shocking, how can WHO praise China when the West especially the Americans were trying their daily best to condemn China, after spreading the virus in Wuhan to blame it on China?

Bruce Aylward had a very good understanding of the Covid19 and how China managed to curb its spread and the valuable lessons could help to prevent more Wuhans outside China. It was a wasted effort as the epidemic in Wuhan, stopped by China, is now a world pandemic with Europe as its new epicentre and the USA next.

This is a 55 min video worth listening to. Aylward said then that the world was not ready but could be ready very fast. Unfortunately many countries did not take him seriously and were unprepared and thus not ready when the virus hit. China bought them time, done it and showed to the world how it could be done....but the world missed this golden opportunity to slow down the spread of Covid19.

To Bruce Aylward's credit, he made all the necessary recommendations at the last part of his presentation that could have helped many countries in the handling of this pandemic. 

Huawei and Beidou have revolutionised satellite communication and make all mobile phone, chip makers and telecommunication companies obsolete

China's Beidou satellite navigation system is in service and ready to replace the GPS system of the western world. This is not the news, only a reality that is waiting to happen.  The western domination of satellite navigation through the GPS is over. What is going to happen is the cooperation Beidou and Huawei in a new world wide telecommunication system that would replace everything that is being used today. Apple and all mobile phone manufacturers and operators and chip makers would become obsolete and go bust when this new network is launched.

The key features of this network are:

1. Making phone calls is free.
2. Surfing the internet is free.
3. Signals are available in every corner of the world, in the highest mountain peaks, the lowest valleys, in the deserts and deep jungle, in the midst of the oceans, in the arctics and the antarctics.
4. The signals are not only strong but fast, equivalent to 5Gs or fasters.
5. The mobile phone can control everything from home appliances or whatever that can be linked to it, like driverless vehicles.
6. You don't have to switch telcos or change to different systems in different countries.

And more frightening, Huawei will not use any American chips but its very own chips. No more American blackmails and threats The Americans can ban Huawei and use Nokia and other dinosaur mobile phone technologies in their backyards for as long as they want. The rest of the world, including all the European countries, cannot refuse this technology of the future at their doorstep.

This is what China is going to offer to the world, cheap telecommunication and navigation operating system using satellite technology, for as good as free. Not sure how the cost will be put together, very likely for the price of a Huawei mobile phone and a small fee.

Imagine what is going to Apple and all the other mobile phone manufacturers, chip makers and telco operators and service providers? Forget about the residential landline phone systems. This is going to revolutionise the whole telecommunication industry and change the face of the earth.

Who says technology, better technology, must pay through the nose? This is disruptive technology at its finest best, to serve the interest of humankind. And China is going to serve this on a silver platter very soon. When China is on the march, it will benefit the whole world, unlike the evil American Empire that is always about wars, conflicts, sanctions and oppression, and selling weapons.

Rise shall be, a new century for China in the East and for the whole of the world and human kind.The launch of this new technology will put an end to American and western domination of high technology and communication for good. Go forth and spread the good news.

Robert Redfield, CDC director, testifying to Congress, today admitted that virus deaths have been miscategorised as the flu.

He also stated that the standard practice has been to first test people for the flu and, if the test is positive, they stop there. They don’t test for the coronavirus.
So Japan and Taiwan were correct. Many of the US deaths attributed to the flu were actually from the coronavirus.

One Senator asked Redfield if post-mortems were performed to learn the cause of death, and he stated that such were done, and they revealed mis-diagnoses.

The infections and deaths have been knowingly mis-categorised for months, and the CDC ‘strongly’ recommended that hospitals not test for the virus except as a last resort. It is not an accident that the US has no reliable tests. They don’t want to test. Blame everything on the flu.

And now all meetings and discussions on the virus are classified, and all public information must be first cleared through the White House.

Luckily China was able to send medical specialists and supplies to help the Arab friends to fight and contain the disease. It is a deliberate American policy to subjugate and exterminate the Middle-East Arab muslims. This American brutality shows the true nature of the ruthlessness in which white Americans and its European allies wage wars in all parts of the world.

It is time for the Sunni and the Shia muslims to get rid of their differences and unite as one to drive away the abominable white American invaders. The white men always exploit the differences among the local population to sow  suspicion, enmity, hostility and war among the local populations to serve their insidious agenda of divide and rule and ultimately to achieve full control and hegemony over one and all.

One can never imagine how wicked the white Americans can be . They have always been recruiting and training extremist muslim militants to do their dirty job of carrying out terrorist acts in muslim countries so as to subject the victimised muslim countries for regime change. Meanwhile in the midst of the choas and hostilities the Americans would step in to put down the muslim militants and terrorists and eventually take full control of the muslim countries itself. This is the treachery and  operandi of the evil American imperialists. They are using the same operandi against the natives or indigenous peoples of Central and South America where many of the countries are now extremely devastated. God must damned the horrible deeds of the satanic white Americans.

To cover and deflect attention of their ill treatment of muslims in America and the genocide of muslims in Middle East the evil empire tries to create ill-will between the muslims and China. They blatantly fabricated stories about how the Chinese government ill treat the Uyghur Chinese muslims. The Uyghurs is one of the 56 ethnic Chinese races and they are Chinese nationals. Just as what the muslim countries would do to arrest American trained militant muslim terrorists, the Chinese will similarly do just that. Just ask the Americans how they treat the over three million non-white muslims in America. Of course the muslims are ostracised and can be hauled to jail or shot at the flimsiest excuse. The United States and its Western allies look askance at how China is helping the muslims everywhere especially in the Middle East to fight and get out of the clutch of US tyranny and hegemony. They have stooped very low in trying to spoil and disrupt the good and healthy relationship between the Arab muslims and the Chinese people. So do not fall into their evil trap of divide and rule.

It is imperative for the muslims through out the world to cooperate with China and other peace and freedom countries to fight and take down the evil empire of the United States. Only when American imperialism and tyranny is taken down then the world could ever hope to live in peace and security.

The myth of quality education

To be ranked as world best university by western organisations seemed to be a highly desired accolade for many universities. To be ranked among the top 10, the top 100, confers the graduates from these universities as among the best in the world, top talents. In general this looks like the case and of course there are exceptions. Some universities are ranked very high but produced duds, useless graduates that are good only at mid executive levels at most and many could not even find gainful employment and have to resort to part time jobs, some even have to drive for Grab.

Then there this outstanding exception that has stunned the world. India, without any university in the top 100, maybe not even in the top 500 best, is producing the most top executives for MNCs in the whole wide world. The Indian graduates are beating the Europeans and Americans in their home ground, taking over their companies not just as middle executives or senior executives but as the top dogs, the CEOs. There are thousands of Indian CEOs heading western MNCs, even Japanese MNCs and of course Singaporean MNCs.

Surprising, shocking, not true? Yes, the Indians have got their education system right. Many may still think the Indian education system is half baked, primitive, and basic. Think again, and look at the names of all the top CEOs in western MNCs, the big and reputable ones, the Fortune 500 companies, they are mostly Indians. They must be teaching the right stuff, and not the unnecessary and frivolous. And Singapore is salivating at the prospect of bringing in more Indians to fill the top posts in business and in govt. The Indians are the best in the world, in business and in govt. Ok, the latter still needs more proof.

The irony, very few foreigners would want to send their children to India to benefit from what they are doing right and to become future CEOs of big MNCs. And more surprising, some Indians are sending their students to study in Singapore's world class universities that could hardly produce a MNC CEO other than in local companies in tiny Singapore. Increasingly Singapore companies, the bigger and more established ones, are going to be helmed by Indians from India.

What is the moral of the story? Go to India to get a good education, an education that would turn graduates into future CEOs if that is what you want. And Indian education is relatively cheap. Do not send your children to super expensive highly ranked universities that are good on paper only, good to look at, good to brag about but turning out unemployeable graduates or graduates at best be good enough to work for MacDonalds or Grab.

Covid19 - God Trump has done everything right,....

Trump has done everything right according to his script given by God, to end the evil American Empire. He started his campaign by isolating the USA and followed this by abandoning free trade and breaking the world apart instead of bringing the world closer together in a close knit interdependent world, trading and working with one another. This is like the Tower of Babel incident in the Bible, so God dispersed the people and separated them by making them speak in different tongues. The people of the world should be divided, not united. Trump has been sent back to earth to do just that. Man has become too evil again, wanting to build a Space Force, penetrating deeper into space than the Tower of Babel.

Trump has been launching a war against every country and with China as his main target. The trade war is only the surface of his evil acts against China that could be seen. What he had done behind everyone's back, covert operations, black ops, were more insidious and evil. Everytime he said Kim is my good friend, Xi is my good friend, they cringed. Both Kim and Xi knew this evil man through and through and would just smiled and played along but preparing to counter every move this evil man with his number One hatchet man Pompeo executing every wicked move in his white gloves. They think Xi and Kim were idiots to be conned. Kim has as good as totally negated every commitment he had with Trump and is back to do whatever he wants to do.

Xi and China have been fighting every dirty trick Trump and Pompeo have been launching against China with non stop attacks of deadly diseases several times a year. Trump and his wicked men thought this Covid19 would be the death blow that would crippled China to become the Sick Man of Asia all over again. Never could they imagine that China is now a strong united country, every Chinese is well educated and proud to be a Chinese and are working as one people to drive China to become the most powerful and richest country in the world. Covid19 would not do much harm to China. With the concerted effort of the Chinese people and their dedication and wisdom, China has triumphed over this deadly disease planted in Wuhan by the Americans.

What the evil Americans did not bargain for, thinking that the whole of China would be hit by this Covid19 and the Chinese people be wiped out from the surface of the earth just like they did to the American natives. No, China would fight this disease and has won. China has recovered and would be stronger than before.  China is now helping all the countries badly hit by this disease to recover and to prevent it from spreading.

Unfortunately for the Americans, and Europe, the game has just begun. Europe and the USA are just getting hit by the same virus the Americans planted in Wuhan. Need proof for this hideous and covert act? Ask Trump and Pompeo. But before Covid19 returns to its source in the USA in full bloom, the Americans have lost tens of trillions in the stock market crash and the whole American economy will come next. This is just retribution coming real fast at the evil American Empire that God has set to destroy. God has had enough of this evil Empire and has sent Trump, his messenger to do the necessary.

Incidentally this Covid19 virus has shown a special liking for politicians and celebrities. Covid19 - Still believing that this virus started in Wuhan, China?

So far we have found that this Covid19 is an exceptionally clean virus. It has displayed very special characteristics that are different from other viruses. Why did I say that it is a clean virus? Look at the chart below, only clean and rich countries are more badly affected by this virus than dirty filthy and polluted third world countries. This virus does not stand a chance to survive in third world polluted environment, rivers, drains and rubbish dumps.

European countries are their favourites, clean air, clean environment, can go to church, travel in cruises, eat in nice restaurants and shopping belts.

Back to the question whether this virus started its life in Wuhan, China. When it first started in Wuhan, no one knew about this virus until the Chinese identified and isolated it and reported to WHO.  And one good thing, when it was spreading furiously the Chinese govt thought it necessary to impose an immediate lockdown to prevent it from spreading across China and also to the rest of the world. 

China did this very effectively and it is now under control in China and new cases are getting lesser and lesser. China is confident that by end of Mar or April this virus would be contained and no more new cases originating from China.

Remember that the virus hit Wuhan, China just as the Chinese were preparing to celebrate Chinese New Year and were returning home. Some who were working in Wuhan were returning to their provinces. Chinese around the world were returning to China to roost, to be with their families. It was more a one way traffic, inflow rather than outflow though some Chinese were preparing to go overseas for holidays. This is a small minority.

China was able to contain the spread of the virus to its other provinces very quickly with very few cases reported and quickly stumped out. If this virus originated from Wuhan, China, then the spread to Chinese provinces would be big and quite widespread and those working in Wuhan would have brought them to their respective provinces. This was not the case, though some did.

If the virus could not spread widely across China, how did the virus spread to the rest of the world in such a short period of time if they originated from Wuhan, China? From recent experience and reports, the virus was found in every corner of the earth with many places that were not visited by anyone from China or people who had been to China especially in the USA, Europe and far corners of the earth. Does this ring a bell, that the viruses in these places did not come from China, very likely indigenous? The case in point are the nursing homes in the USA and many corners of America where people are infected with different variants of this virus. It cannot be that these viruses came from Wuhan, China.

The Americans and many countries did not know the existence of this virus and many infected persons were treated as flu or common cold. As they said, ignorance is bliss. Only when they are specifically tested for this virus with the new test kits that they are found to have it. The Wuhan virus might have affected some countries when there were people visiting both places. For countries far far away where no one from Wuhan, or visited Wuhan and returned, and still found the virus affecting their people, where did the virus come from? Many cases in the USA and Europe have absolutely no connection with Wuhan.

So, are the evil and mischievous Americans still smearing China, insisting that the virus originated from Wuhan, China and spread to them and to the rest of the world? Who is lying? Would the unthinking still stick to this white lie and blame China and Chinese for this virus?

There are empirical evidence that the virus in many countries did not come from China. And there are many cases of virus infections in the USA that did not come from China. How many would still believe in the American white lie?

Thus USA, stop playing the mischievous blame game! Your evil deeds are coming back to you.

They have repeatedly reminded people that the virus started in Wuhan, a city in China’s Hubei province, and they have faulted China's initial handling of the outbreak. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has called it the “Wuhan coronavirus.” China stresses that it is trying to help the international community battle the virus, sending medical teams to countries that need help now that the crisis at home is waning.

The authorities will have to double down on measures within Singapore, even as some basic surveillance at the borders continue, said the minister, who is the co-chair of a multi-ministry task force set up to handle the coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that senior-centric activities by government agencies will be suspended for two weeks. Over time, the Government will have to ramp up and implement more social distancing measures, Mr Wong said.

The above quotes from CNA show how serious the Singapore govt is taking this Covid19 threat to the wellbeing of Singaporeans. The latest spurt in number of new infected cases due to irresponsible social behaviour has prompted the govt to close down on many activities associated with senior citizens. The main point is to keep social mixing down to a minimum with social contacts to be kept at maybe a minimum of 2 metres apart to be safe. Big social gatherings are to be avoided.

The concept sounds very good and should be reasonably effective. The biggest loophole and unavoidable is the pack trains carrying commuters all over the islands. Many of them are less than 20 cm apart with some idiots unconsciously chose to stand very close to other commuters even if the train is not really full when they could keep a reasonable distance from other commuters. Most of these are wildlife from countries where sticking close to each other with no respect to the private space of a stranger is the norm. You can smell them whenever they are close to you in the trains.

So how to maintain the 2 metre distancing gap when the trains are carrying 1 or 2 million commuters daily?  This is like putting money into a pocket with a big hole in it.  Heheheh, 6.9m population or 10m or 15m population is the way to go.A serious infectious disease could wipe out the whole population within weeks.

Lee Kuan Yew being ridiculed and disrespected so soon after his death

The family feud of Lee Kuan Yew is still brewing. I am not taking sides and do not want to be involved. What saddens me is that Lee Kuan Yew was the founding father or one of the founding fathers of modern Singapore. It is written in our history books. The least Singaporeans can do for him is not to badmouth him when he can no longer defend himself.

Today, everywhere, in the main media and social media, Lee Kuan Yew is like an old useless football being kicked around by anyone as they like it. He has been called senile, easily misled, did not know what he was doing in his last few years alive. He cannot read, cannot understand law, cannot understand a legal document like his own will even when he was the one that wanted it changed. And people around him could do anything they wanted with him as if he was a walking dead. Were these true?

What happened to the tough and sharp talking double honours top politician from Cambridge University Law School? Are Singaporeans expected to believe this is the Lee Kuan Yew they admired and held in deference, the man that ruled Singapore and brought Singapore from the Third World to the First World, highly regarded as a world leader?

If this saga goes on like this, soon this founding father of Singapore would have been so belittled to a point that Singaporeans would lose all respect for him, thinking and believing that he was a senile old man, a foolish man and could be easily misled while still alive. Dragging this man over a pool of mud is very disrespectful and unbecoming.

Let' spare this man and his good name and stop tarnishing him so soon after his death. Have some respect for the man even if you dislike him or disagree with him.

The Straits Times today have reported that sales of LKY coins and copper busts were stopped just hours after launch due to online criticism from netizens.

From the ST article ‘Many netizens criticised the latest launch, saying the medallions and busts in Mr Lee’s likeness went against his wishes, as he had said he did not want to be memorialised.

Facebook user Dereth Tan wrote: “Didn’t the late Mr Lee explicitly (express) his wish to not be idolised in such a way? Why is this simple request being disrespected?”

Some thought the use of his image was political in what could be an election year, while others said it was in poor taste to profit from his image through the sale of medallions and busts.’

Singapore Parliament - Guess who is not there

Meanwhile, those watching Ms Lim ask her question also noticed the rather-empty Parliament session. “Thank you Sylvia Lim for speaking up in Parliament about spending Government money wisely,” wrote All Singapore Stuff on its Facebook page. “But more importantly, who is she speaking to? How come looks like so many empty seats again?” the caption added.

 One person said that Ms Lim should have asked why she was scheduled to speak during a  near-empty Parliament sitting. Others called it “disrespectful to the voters and taxpayers”.

 Another person proposed that a session should not proceed if a certain number of MPs were not present, with penalties for those who did not attend.


The above is posted in www.theindependent.sg and Sylvia Lim was seen asking the House how Mindef determines the value and pricing of a contract, especially the one concerning F35s and the spending of $2.75b. What is not surprising is the nearly empty House, and you could literally count the number of MPs looking so indifferent and disinterested when Sylvia was talking.

Of course the picture only showed a small section of the Parliament and the rest of the House could be fully occupied. But looking at the picture it tells a very pathetic story about the Singapore Parliament at face value. Who was there and who was not there? Was there a quorum? Think should have. Even if the rest of the seats not shown were fully occupied, the picture still shows a substantial number of MPs, including the Speaker, were not there.

Is this a normal thing, something acceptable? Obviously from the comments mentioned above, they were furious and felt cheated. And half empty and very empty, not sure how empty Parliament has been a thing for a long time, often shown on CNA. By now this is taken as the norm, this is what Singapore Parliament is.  I thought when the opposition MPs spoke, the Whip would make sure govt MPs would be present to make a stand or to question and challenge them. No, not necessary anymore?

Or maybe half a house is good enough to deal with the handful of opposition MPs.

Covid19 -What will Singapore do next?

What will the Singapore xxxxxxxxxxxxx do next?

Lower the Code Orange to Code Yellow, remove some existing restrictions, open the floodgates to allow any Tom Dick and Harry to come to Singapore and freely distribute the corona-viruses?

Above is a comment by an anonymous blogger asking what would Singapore do next given the experience of Italy with infected cases shooting to high heavens? Now, how to answer such a question to be meaningful?  I know many people are wondering if Singapore would continue with its open leg policy to let every wildlife to come in as it means money, plenty of easy money in terms of levies and fees and also to boost up a dying economy that is struggling to stay off the recession path.

Let's look at the statistics available on the Covid19 pandemic and see if they make any good sense and can help Singapore govt to work out a sensible immigration policy that could still allow it to continue to collect easy money by allowing more wildlife to come in to provide jobs for Singaporeans. Statistically speaking, not my personal opinion, there is a clear statement from the above chart that says Covid19 is a disease of rich countries. Look, other than Malaysia and Singapore, no SE Asian country or South Asian or African country is seriously affected, did not even deserve to be in the chart. What does this mean? The virus likes rich people, likes to go to rich countries, likes to go for cruises, likes to go to churches, to casinos, and other than China, S Korea and Japan, it has a penchant for Europeans, and this is only the beginning. More and more Europeans and Americans would be visited by the virus.

What has this got to say about Singapore's open leg immigration policy? Can one use the above statistics to say that wildlife from poor SE Asia, South Asia and Africa are safe bets and can continue to come in freely, free from Covid19 virus, or at least the chances are very slim? This looks like a piece of good news for Singapore's immigration dependent economy. Can continue to do as before, no need to stop wildlife from coming in if they are from poor countries.

Coronavirus - Did The Virus Originate in the US?

When it started in Wuhan, the evil and irresponsible Americans quickly put the fingers at China as the origin of this virus, even leaking from a Wuhan Lab. As the story unfolds, more information and data are showing that the virus did not originate from China. The Wuhan or China strain is different from those found in Italy, Iran, South Korea and other places. And cases are sprouting out in all the far corners of the world, even in floating cruise ships. Why and how?

The only country that has all the 5 strains of coronavirus is the USA. There were few cases reported in the USA, not reported before the Wuhan incident is because the USA were not testing them. Ignorance is bliss. They did not test them, thousands of Americans died and buried presuming dying of natural death or common flu.

China found out because it was the first country that had a widespread and tested it. Now that every country is testing it, they quickly found that the coronavirus is in their country. The more they test, the more cases are found. And many have no contact with virus affected countries. The virus flew from Wuhan China to the Seattle Nursing Home in Washington state? How?  What about the cruise ship floating outside San Francisco? Why were there so many Americans affected by the coronavirus in Diamond Princess? These only prove that the virus is everywhere in the USA, and started spreading much earlier than in Wuhan. China has locked down cities to stop its spread. The virus from China could not be spreading all over the world overnight.

Read the article below to have a better idea. Only one country that have the 5 strains of coronavirus and is just starting to test them in a very small way. If they could they would not want to test them, not wanting to know that the virus is all over the USA. The USA could be the breeding ground for all the coronavirus but blaming China for it to mislead the world that they are not to be blamed, they are innocent.

Who is not transparent, who is lying to the world about this coronavirus? Stop the white lie.

 

Japan, China and Taiwan Reports on the Origin of the Virus

The Western media quickly took the stage and laid out the official narrative for the outbreak of the new coronavirus which appeared to have begun in China, claiming it to have originated with animals at a wet market in Wuhan.

In fact the origin was for a long time unknown but it appears likely now, according to Chinese and Japanese reports, that the virus originated elsewhere, from multiple locations, but began to spread widely only after being introduced to the market.
More to the point, it appears that the virus did not originate in China and, according to reports in Japanese and other media, may have originated in the US....


Taiwan Virologist Suggests the Coronavirus Originated in the US
Then, Taiwan ran a TV news program on February,27,(click here to access video (Chinese), that presented diagrams and flow charts suggesting the coronavirus originated in the US. (6)....

One of his main points is that the type infecting Taiwan exists only in Australia and the US and, since Taiwan was not infected by Australians, the infection in Taiwan could have come only from the US.
The basic logic is that the geographical location with the greatest diversity of virus strains must be the original source because a single strain cannot emerge from nothing. He demonstrated that only the US has all the five known strains of the virus (while Wuhan and most of China have only one, as do Taiwan and South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam, Singapore, and England, Belgium and Germany), constituting a thesis that the haplotypes in other nations may have originated in the US.
Korea and Taiwan have a different haplotype of the virus than China, perhaps more infective but much less deadly, which would account for a death rate only 1/3 that of China.
Neither Iran nor Italy were included in the above tests, but both countries have now deciphered the locally prevalent genome and have declared them of different varieties from those in China, which means they did not originate in China but were of necessity introduced from another source. It is worth noting that the variety in Italy has approximately the same fatality rate as that of China, three times as great as other nations, while the haplotype in Iran appears to be the deadliest with a fatality rate of between 10% and 25%. Due to the enormous amount of Western media coverage focused on China, much of the world believes the coronavirus spread to all other nations from China, but this now appears to have been proven wrong. With about 50 nations scattered throughout the world having identified at least one case at the time of writing, it would be very interesting to examine virus samples from each of those nations to determine their location of origin and the worldwide sources and patterns of spread.
The Virologist further stated that the US has recently had more than 200 “pulmonary fibrosis” cases that resulted in death due to patients’ inability to breathe, but whose conditions and symptoms could not be explained by pulmonary fibrosis. He said he wrote articles informing the US health authorities to consider seriously those deaths as resulting from the coronavirus, but they responded by blaming the deaths on e-cigarettes, then silenced further discussion. …
The Taiwanese doctor then stated the virus outbreak began earlier than assumed, saying, “We must look to September of 2019”.
He stated the case in September of 2019 where some Japanese traveled to Hawaii and returned home infected, people who had never been to China. This was two months prior to the infections in China and just after the CDC suddenly and totally shut down the Fort Detrick bio-weapons lab claiming the facilities were insufficient to prevent loss of pathogens. He said he personally investigated those cases very carefully (as did the Japanese virologists who came to the same conclusion).. This might indicate the coronavirus had already spread in the US but where the symptoms were being officially attributed to other diseases, and thus possibly masked.
The prominent Chinese news website Huanqiu related one case in the US where a woman’s relative was told by physicians he died of the flu, but where the death certificate listed the coronavirus as the cause of death. On February 26, ABC News affiliate KJCT8 News Network reported that a woman recently told the media that her sister died on from coronavirus infection. Montrose, Colorado resident Almeta Stone said, “They (the medical staff) kept us informed that it was the flu, and when I got the death certificate, there was a coronavirus in the cause of death.” (12)

We cannot ascertain the number of such cases in the US but since the CDC apparently has no reliable test kits and is conducting little or no testing for the virus, there may be others.

 In the past two years (during the trade war) China has suffered several pandemics:

• May 24, 2019: massive infestation of armyworms in 14 province-level regions in China, which destroy most food crops. Quickly spread to more than 8,500 hectares of China’s grain production. They produce astonishing numbers of eggs. China needs to purchase US agricultural products – corn, soybeans.
• December, 2019: Coronavirus appearance puts China’s economy on hold.
• January, 2020: China is hit by a “highly pathogenic” strain of bird flu in Hunan province. Many chickens died, many others killed. China needs to purchase US poultry products.

The standard adage is that bad luck happens in threes, not sixes.

Covid19 -13 new cases in one day, 5 Mar.

SINGAPORE: Singapore announced 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday (Mar 6), the highest daily jump since the outbreak started here.
This brings the total number of new coronavirus cases in Singapore to 130 since the first case was confirmed on Jan 23.

One more patient has recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of discharged cases to 82.
Out of the new cases, nine are linked to the cluster involving a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong on Feb 15.

Seventeen cases have been linked to this cluster so far. In a briefing on Friday, the Ministry of Health's (MOH) communicable diseases director Vernon Lee pointed out that not all the cases were at the dinner.

"We are still doing investigations. Not all of the cases were at the dinner. Some were family members or had links, but they were not necessarily at the dinner.  CNA

KNN, just as we thought the situation in Singapore has stabilised with 2-3 cases a day, now this looks like an explosion, 13 cases in one single day. And from the reports, these individuals are highly sociable and probably been sharing their new acquisition quite freely and more cases are going to stand up to be counted.  No wonder the politicians have been heard talking about expecting more cases everyday. They must have been briefed of this SAFRA Jurong cluster now ballooning with 17 cases to its credit.

Thank God that the church clusters have quiet down and not sprouting more new cases or else we are going to be on a run. The next few days are going to be closely watched and many people would be on tenderhooks when the possibility of a bigger number is very high now.

Don't pray pray. My karaoke group made a wise decision to stop meeting until further notice. If there is another explosion of this scale or bigger, some countries may start to put Singaporeans on quarantine or ban Singaporeans from visiting them completely.

The United States & Its European Allies Caused The Destruction of Muslim Civilization.

PART      ONE

It is the tradition of white supremacists and racists to kill and destroy other civilizations in order to maintain their hegemony and total control of all countries. Traditionally they have been treating muslims as die hard enemies and the killing of muslims and  destruction of the great muslim civilization was expedited by the Americans and the British immediately after the First World War and the momentum of the killings exploded with great speed and brutality immediately after the Second World War. The American genocide of the Middle East muslims continue unabated to the present.

In past milleniums the Muslim Civilization shone in glory and splendour. It was as great and glorious as the Chinese civilization. Like the Chinese civilization it was in the frontline of science, mathematics and technology which were very lacking in European countries. The European countries were then very primitive and perpetually indulged in constant warfares against each other.  To the Europeans the muslim civilization was in the olden days a light of knowledge and learning and a torchlight to the way of progress for the future.

How then in the last five hundred years the Europeans were able to stole a march on the Arab muslims and the Chinese? The key to this answer lies the cause of the fall and destruction of the muslim civilization and the Chinese civilization at the hands of the marauding European and the American  barbaric aggressions.

Having learnt much of the science and technology from the Chinese and the Arab muslims the Europeans quickened their pace in mustering the science and technology of manufacturing more effective guns and cannons and the building of war ships. Armed with their new found superior weaponery they the Europeans and thereafter the Americans went on a rampage to attack and conquer other countries both in the old world of Asia and Africa and in the new world of the Americas  and Australia.

Religion and militant political doctrines play a huge part in the downfall of the muslim civilization. But the main cause of the destruction of muslim civilization is the determination of the white supremacists of Europe and the United States to destroy muslims at any cost and at all cost.

The white men of Europe and America see the muslims as some sort of a contagious dangerous disease and so they coordinate their efforts to take down all muslims wherever they may be.

On the religion aspect both the muslims and the white European and American Christians have been using religious doctrine to justify their mutual hatred and killings of each other. The Arab muslims justify their killings of white men who are infidels or non-believers of Islam and the white Christians similarly justify their killings of muslims who are known as heathens or non-believers of the Christian faith. However, the white supremacists of Europe and America eventually triumphed over the muslims because of their great advancement in Science and technology in the last five hundred years.

The European countries and white America make no pretensions that they are justified in killing muslims and taking away their lands even though the muslims do not do anything wrong to them or give them any provocations; but just for the simple fact that muslims are heathens and therefore reserved to be killed. The white racists and supremacists insist that it was written in the Bible that all nations which do not acknowledge the  authority of the white Christian western powers were sinners and so it was their right and duty to make war upon the muslims wherever they could be found and to make slaves of all the muslims they could take as prisoners. Unfortunately this evil white Christian policy was also applied to other people who are non-muslims but also non-christians. This hate muslim policy, the anti-muslim policy and anti-non whites policy has been the US state policy and has been in place since the first years of United States independence in 1775. In fact it was given emphasis by Thomas Jefferson, US second president after George Washington.

The extension of this insidious white supremacist Christian policy continues to this day and is carried out mainly by the United States. The killings and genocide of muslims have not stopped. In fact it has intensified with the advancement of modern weaponery like rockets, missiles, drones and jet bombers.

The killings of muslims have been a long time western obsession. It started with the Christian crusades marching to war against the muslims in the 15th century. It was a long drawn out struggle of life and death between the European Christians and the Sunni and Shia muslims. After more than a millenium of wars and fighting it culminated with the defeat of the muslims. The defeat of the muslims was made easy  partly due to the infighting among the muslims between the Sunni and the
Shia sects which was highly exploited by the christian European powers. The end of Islamic power and glory came pretty fast in the 19th Century and after the First World War. The Turkish Islamic Ottoman Empire in the whole of Middle East became the spoils to be absorbed by the British Empire. However due to fear of Russian encroachment the British was forced to break up the previous Ottoman Empire into separate independent states under British protectorate. Hence there are the independent entities of of Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Lebanon and Palestine.

However, after the Second World War and with the discovery of rich deposits of hundreds of billions of tons of oil and trillions of tons of natural gas in almost all the newly independent Arab states, a new form of western colonialism and imperialism came in the form of United States capitalism to exploit these resources.

To carry out this new western capitalist colonialism the British and the United States adopted an operandi based on divide and rule system. In 1948 by using intrigue and subterfuge they illegally detached a large part of the Arab state of Palestine and planted the Jewish state of Israel in the midst of the Arab world.

Thus the illicit birth of Israel has been the start of the great sufferings of the Arabs in general and the Palestinian Arabs in particular. In addition  the United States and UK insatiable greed for Arab oil and natural liquified gas result in several ruinous wars initiated by US in its determination to dominate the Middle East region under its total hegemony  and full control of the oil and natural gas resources.

Other than the love of Arab oil and natural gas the Americans and the British seem to have a natural hatred for the Arab muslims. And perhaps that's the reason they have to plant Israel there to look after the interests of the US and UK. The United States wars on Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Yemen and Somalia are state terrorism and the most cruel perversion and criminal act against human rights.

Just as George H, Bush and Obama , president Trump does not care to hide his deep hatred for Arab muslims. He called for a total and complete shutdown of muslims from entering the United States.

The American wars against the Arab muslims are most brutal and destructive in criminality. It is a one sided affair of might is right. So they have been using their military might to the fullest. Their endless mass bombings not only killed hundreds of thousands of Arab military personnels but also millions of civilians which they brushed aside without betting an eye lid as collateral damages. The indiscriminate mass bombings not only kill the people but also cause great wanton destructions to buildings and properties. The use of cluster bombs, chemical and biological weapons as well as depleted uranium on the Middle East Arab muslims to maximize the effect of mass killings show wanton disregard of  humanity and utter contempt for Arab feelings of self respect and dignity. It is in short American state terrorism with no precedence.

With the killings of Arab muslims by the millions and the wanton indiscriminate destruction of Arab muslim lands and properties  by the western powers headed by the United States of America, can the old glorious muslim civilization be revived.

There is some hope only if the whole non-western world and the United Nations Organization condemn in unison the American state terrorism and demand it to stop this terrorism in the Middle East  immediately. Also the illegal state of Zionist Israel which spond some of the worst crimes against the muslims in cahoot with the United States must be shut down and the lands return to the Arab Palestinian muslims. All the Jews will then be safely repatriated to all the European countries and the United States where they originally came from.  The Arab muslims must get rid of their old illogical scism between the Sunnis and the Shias  The west conquests of the muslim world have been made easy and enhanced by the unnecessary quarrels among the muslims of the Sunni and the Shia sects. The Evil Empire, the atrocious United States imperialist always exploit local differences of a national state or national states and capitalise on their differences to instigate fear , suspicion, hostilities and even foment wars to fit its agenda of domination and hegemony over every other country.

The muslims in the world, all the muslim countries , especially the Middle East Arab muslim countries can only gain back their self-respect and dignity and redeem their glorious past  by uniting together to get rid of the bellicose Americans from their countries. To this momentous objective Pakistan can help its muslim brotherhood in the Middle East with its nuclear cover and strengthen deep cooperation with Russia, Iran , DPRK and The Peoples Republic of China.

Unless and until the Evil Empire, the United States is destroyed there will be no peace and security for the muslims and other people in this world.

When teachers are unintelligent and policy makers confusing the purpose of education

An exam paper of a primary school girl has been circulating around exposing the unintelligence of teachers, maybe one teacher setting the question and one marking, or one teacher doing both, and how a poor child that was so confused by the questions because of her exceptional intelligence ended being marked wrong for her exceptionally clear answers.

One question showed 3 pairs of ducks facing each other and the question asking how many ducks were there. What was confusing was that at the answer column, after a space for the answer was a picture of a duck facing one side. Without this picture, the answer was obvious, 6 ducks. But with the picture of a duck added, and facing one side, a child could read the question as asking how many ducks were facing the same direction as the picture next to the answer. The child put down 3 and was marked wrong.

Another question was a picture of 9 dogs in various positions and the question asked how many dogs were there. Same problem, answer should be 9. But at the answer column, after the space to put the answer was a picture of a dog lying in a particular position. And only one of the 9 dogs was lying in that position. The child's answer was 1 and was marked wrong.

Who was right and who was wrong? An average child would have given the answers that an average teacher wanted, 6 ducks and 9 dogs. An above average child would give the wrong answers as the child above, to an average thinking teacher. Whose fault is this? The painful thing is that the child would have gone bonkers trying to figure out why her answers were wrong, all because of unintelligent teachers and unintelligent questions.

Is this the reason why our education system is producing duds that cannot think outside the exam questions and could only produce unintelligent answers and thus found wanting when applying for jobs or for top positions in an organisation? We pay millions and millions for good teachers and good education system but the above situation is appalling. Something is very seriously wrong in this robotic fashion of teaching.

And I read in the papers that the school system is going to teach the child mental health and in the same breath acknowledging that teachers that have proper training on mental health would not be qualified to offer professional support to troubled children. If teachers after being properly trained may be found wanting, how much would the children learn from such classes? There are so many things that our children are expected to learn from their school curriculum that wanted to turn them into superman and superwoman but ended turning out duds and people knowing a bit of nothing in everything.

If this is the way the schools are being made to do, I would suggest a few more important topics to prepare the children other than mental illness, disappointments and accepting failures as part of their life after going through our very expensive and confusing education system. Let them know that they are not supposed to be the best in their studies as that would hurt the feelings of less academically inclined children. Let them know that being good academically is nothing to be proud off. If they are good academically they must hide in the closets and not to talk about it. Academically smart children are frown upon by society as they made others looked bad.

And prepare them to accept low paying jobs, to be underemployed, to willingly take on part time jobs, and not to feel bad that they cannot get a job and not to be angry with foreigners that went through half baked education system that did not teach them all the good things in our education system but taking all the good jobs.

The schools must tell the children that despite being taught so many things and paying so much for it, even travelling overseas to understand other people, they would not get the good jobs and may end up jobless. The good jobs would go to foreigners that paid a pittance for their makeshift education, did not go on exchange programme, but just teaching them the 3 Rs and what a basic school education is meant to teach.

Yes, the school can teach everything, from brushing the teeth, how to take a shower, how to go dating, how to use condoms etc etc. The question is what are schools meant for in the first place. With every change of minister for education, the roles of the schools have changing and deviating from its original mission. Let's get back to first principles and let the schools do what they should be doing and not all the nonsense that are good to have, that are desired by a few parents or policy makers, things that parents should be teaching them.

Is it the problem of our education system or confused policy makers trying to do things beyond their field of expertise, not trained in education and telling the teachers what to do? Oh, the above teacher or teachers setting and marking those questions are exceptions to the rule despite being paid top dollars as the best teachers money can buy. We have many good teachers, just let them teach what the schools should be teaching. Non teaching professionals should meddle less with the teaching professions.
