US Demands India Swap Russian Weapons Systems for US Armaments

US warns India over Russian weapons; Lloyd Austin told lawmakers that Washington will require New Delhi to buy US armaments instead

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on Tuesday that India’s continued purchase of Russian weapons systems is “not in their best interest,” and that there will be a “requirement” that leaders in New Delhi swap some of these systems for US and allied armaments. India is the world’s largest military importer, and counts on Russia for nearly half of its external supply of weaponry.

Austin was responding to a question from Representative Joe Wilson (R-South Carolina), who described India as a “treasured ally” of the US and “the world’s largest democracy.” What, Wilson asked Austin, could the US do to convince “Indian leaders to reject Putin and align with its natural allies of democracy?”

Austin responded that the US has “the finest weapons systems in the world,” and would offer them to New Delhi.

“We continue to work with [India] to ensure that they understand that it’s not in their … best interest to continue to invest in Russian equipment,” Austin told the members of the House Armed Services Committee. “And our requirement going forward is that they downscale the types of equipment that they’re investing in and look to invest more in the types of things that will make us continue to be compatible,” he added.

PS. The Americans think India is their colony, can tell India what they can buy and cannot buy, and must buy Americans.

India is the biggest buyer of weapons and many other countries are following India to stop buying weapons from the Evil Empire. The warmongering United States is now so desperate that it must resort to threats to force India to buy their obsolete second hand weaponeries which are found wanting in real combats. Hopefully India will see the real evil and threat in US / Western countries and close ranks with Russia, China, Iran and DPRK.

The Americans are warning India, if it wants to be an American lackey, it must do as told by the Americans. There is no other way. This is the price to be a good lackey. And this is not pressure, but willingness to obey the Americans order.

And if India behaves well, Modi could be invited to the White House to have dinner with Biden and be patted on the back and with the compliment of 'Good boy'. That would be an honour to strut around. See, invited by the Emperor of the American Empire.

India had their taste of Anglo Saxon tyranny when they were ruled by the British. Thankfully, that has not been forgotten by many prominent Indian academics.

Likewise, China and overseas Chinese have not forgotten the atrocities committed by the Japanese.

And Africans have also not forgotten the plunder, slavery and mistreatment of the Blacks by the Whites. That is why they are turning to China and getting all the help in infrastructure developments and poverty eradication strategies.

These are debts the Whites and the Japs have to pay some day. And they are dreading that by closing ranks, victim and victor banding together. Strange bedfellows!

Under threats, no matter what and how, it turns out, the receiver of that threat will never circum.

Temporarily, for a short while, the receiver of the threats may become more compromising, but in the end all things will become equal, i.e. all the bad deeds will be equalised for the better of mankind.

That is what is at stake for the moment.

Why would India want to change the orientation of their relationship with a stable, reliable and trustworthy partner like Russia, to an alliance with an untrustworthy and lawless bully? It does not make sense.

They just have to look at Pakistan now, an ally of the USA, now being targeted by the USA for a regime change for wanting to buy more oil from Russia and not pandering to the USA's beck
and call.

Those warnings of consequences here and there against India shows that the USA is equally unhappy with India's stand on Ukraine. India should be able to guess what is in store for them going forward.

Why buy USA systems that do not work.

Saudi Arabia bought USA anti missile system to protect their oil installations from Yemeni rocket attacks. They could not even shoot down such crude unsophisticated rockets launched by the Yemenis. The Saudis turned to Russia and bought their S400 system. That was the start of the USA and Saudi souring relationship.

So, why should India dump Russian weapons for USA obsolete weapons? It makes little sense.
