Printed newspaper - End of an era

This is the last copy of printed newspaper in Singapore. 10 Dec 21 marks the day when printed newspaper joins the dodo bird in history. Don't think such mode of news reporting would ever return again.

RIP.

The Shit Times is still selling printed versions. When is it going to wake up?

They have to. The propaganda rag has to continue to serve it's propaganda value.

With dog's multiplying in numbers, they need something to poo on anyway.

This is truly shameful and embarrassing for Singapore government to throw tantrum because US does not recogize it as truly democratic

Just wayang for democracy means it is democratic according to shitty government ?
Having form does not mean it has substance.

has election means it is democratic ?
has police means it has security ?
has election committee means it has free election ?
has shittyTime means public has voice ?
has parliament means policies are properly debated ?
has Sham means minister always right ?
has ownself check ownself means check and balance ?
has legalized corruption means no corruption ?
has gerrymandering means no corruption and abuse of power ?
has privatized public-funded infrastructure to be bought over by dubious private entity to hide P&L means accountability ?
on and on...

Does Singapore government think the world are lame as 61% gullible and naive sheep?

When internally the people have no more voice, it is externally that matters now. Is Singapore going under the bus now?

Will we also be wearing the same shoes as Myanmar? That will be a Titanic surprise!

Wonder what Myanmar Military will say, knowing that, as a member of ASEAN, Singapore has also lend a hand in treating Myanmar with the same medicine.

This is must read indeed: Some extracts: We should look forward to Singapore free press reach 175 and above in ranking. Have never been so proud of kangaroo before.
This is what happen when the world's highest paid clowns pretend to be government when in actual world, it is just a money making corporation trying every ways to milk citizens and stay in power.

Singapore has been downgraded from ‘obstructed’ to ‘repressed’ in a new report by the CIVICUS Monitor, a global research collaboration that rates and tracks fundamental freedoms in 197 countries and territories. The report, People Power Under Attack 2021, says restrictions on free speech, the curtailment of media freedoms, and the use of overly broad and ambiguous laws to restrict activism, led to the downgrade.

Ending the use of legal action to quash freedom of expression is just one recommendation from the United Nation Human Rights Council that has been rejected by Singapore. This year, the country has fully accepted only four of the 21 recommendations on civic freedoms from the UN, highlighting the country’s ongoing failure to address restrictions on free speech and the right to protest.

“Despite its claims to be a democracy, the Singaporean government has systematically chipped away at fundamental freedoms using ambiguous and overly broad legislation, such as on defamation, the Protection Against Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (POFMA) and the Public Order Act, to suppress activism and muzzle free speech. The downgrade in its civic space ratings highlights this worrying deterioration,” said Josef Benedict, Asia-Pacific Civic Space Researcher for CIVICUS.

“The Foreign Interference (Countermeasures) Act is another chilling law that could be used against dissenting voices and to restrict fundamental freedoms under the pretext of protecting national sovereignty. The law will also serve to increase self-censorship that has been prevalent in Singapore, and to stifle genuine public debate on a wide range of public policy issues in collaboration with the international community,” said Benedict.

The use of restrictive laws to silence dissent and curb activism is the most prevalent civic rights violation in Asia-Pacific in 2021.

Over twenty organisations collaborate on the CIVICUS Monitor, providing evidence and research that help us target countries where civic freedoms are at risk. The Monitor has posted more than 550 civic space updates in the last year, which are analysed in People Power Under Attack 2021.

Civic freedoms in 197 countries and territories are categorised as either closed, repressed, obstructed, narrowed or open, based on a methodology that combines several sources of data on the freedoms of association, peaceful assembly and expression.

Singapore is now rated ‘repressed’ on the CIVICUS Monitor. There are 48 other countries with this rating (see all). Visit Singapore’s homepage on the CIVICUS Monitor for more information and check back regularly for the latest updates.

Why the need to feel slighted? No invitation, the better otherwise we are made look like taking sides which is exactly what this summit is all about given the other superpowers aren't invited.
Look at Pakistan. Threw the invitation back to Biden's face effectively saying China is the better and more sincere partner.

Today, like all other State-media, was a propaganda tool in the Brainwashing Machinery.
And all the State-media has mostly lost the Trust of the People. It is only naturally so as they were and are obviously the Amplifier of the PAP Regime and glaring biase towards it. And it has being functioning as such for too long leading it to lose credibility.
The State-media actually also helps to reduce and breed skepticism and cynicism of the Reliability and lntegrity of the Sin System. Most people, citizen and alien, have made much negative remarks about Sin.
Not surprising at all if all the Newsprints will cease operation.

News used to be news. In recent years, all the state media, including the Disunited States, are anything but state propaganda and often disinformation. And they are selling them and people are buying and paying for state propaganda.

Good that there is alternative media to tell news from the people's point of view.

The Truths About Governments

All the national newspapers in every country are the mouthpieces of their respective governments for the sole purpose of brainwashing the masses into supporting their governments, elected or otherwise.

All ruling parties in government want to prolong and stay in power as long as they can.

Any political party that stayed in power for more than 10 years, usually without fail, becomes corrupted in one way or another, in one form or another, crudely or subtly, by manipulating the laws or by erecting the laws to perpetuate its power and suppress all oppositions and opportunities for others to rise and overthrow its rule.

All governments are money-grabbers and selfishly amassing wealth for their key players and their cronies, balls carriers, sycophants and hatchet-men.

No governments in the world are uncorrupted and uncorruptible. As long as there are power-crazy, power-hungry, and power-addicted people in the government, at any level, there will be corruption in one way or another, in one form or another, openly or quietly, crudely or subtly, and through the laws or via the muscles.

That is why there is such a thing as 'legalused corruption'. What is that just think about it?
