Covid19 -Antigen Rapid Test versus Oximeter

With more people returning to work, there is now a new requirement for workers that have not been vaccinated to perform Antigen Rapid Test (ART) twice a week to check for virus infection. Those vaccinated need not do this presumably they are less likely to be infected. How true is this assumption when on the ground the number of vaccinated and unvaccinated people being infected are just as many, if not more among the vaccinated than the unvaccinated. If this assumption is false, it is like the vaccinated would have a licence to spread the virus and the unvaccinated no such licence. The problem is that this fallacy can lead to complacency and misplaced faith in the vaccines, leading to more infections.

With the data of infection available, both the vaccinated and unvaccinated should also be tested. But this is going to be a very costly exercise both in time and money and wastage. Not everyone can afford the $10 per test ART, twice a week, and the time consuming ritual of testing and disposal of the used test kit.

Why not use the oximeter that we have been issued for this test? This is a much easier and efficient way of testing and can be conducted daily and many times a day at minimal cost and disruption. There will be no need to clear any used material as the oximeter can be used and reused for a long time. The ART kits would lead to a lot of waste to clear.

The advantages of oximeter testing over ART kits are many. As the infection can happen any time, not days in between ART test, daily test and repeated test over a day would be more efficient and effective. As both tests are just indicators and a good guide to the possibility of an infection, using oximeter would definitely be superior than ART test kits. The oxygen level is a good indicator of a person's condition. Maybe oximeter may not detect those asymptomatic cases, but it would be very cost efficient if hundreds of thousands or millions of tests are being conducted on a daily basis.

The MTF should look at the use of oximeters instead of the expensive and cumbersome ART test kits and the need to dispose all the waste material after used. It saves a lot of time and money and no need to worry for supply chain and shortage of supply.

What do you think? Anyone with a 97% oxygen level should be likely to be healthy and free from the virus. Maybe 90% or 95% would be equally good. The experts would know what is the best percentage to accept as a good indicator of being free from the virus.

What ever mtf do.it will not work.

Mtf mind set is open up.

Using antigen test kits means a lot of money must be spent and some companies are going to make a lot of money.

Using Oximeter means no need to spend to much money and therefore no money to make.

This is like don't buy cheaper vaccine but buy more expensive ones and pretend more expensive vaccines mean better quality, more effective.

Covid to mtf:"bro, you do your opening,we do our spreading.we are only learning to be like you mtf!"

With more than 80% fully vaccinated and yet infections are spreading, it is illogical to erect barriers to those unvaccinated on the pretext of thinking that only the unvaccinated are to be blamed for spreading the virus and thus need to be segregated and stigmatised.

The steering of the narrative that vaccination prevents serious complications is certainly not the original narrative which is about preventing infections. What was the touted 97% or thereabouts all about?

In Singapore, out of every ten person, eight are fully vaccinated and two are unvaccinated. Who are the major spreaders that needed to be segregated. The new narrative seems to be directed at those unvaccinated for causing the spread. Are we barking up the wrong tree? What happens if we achieve 100% full vaccination and yet the virus continue to spread. The only saving grace I can think of is just invent another narrative to suit the circumstances.

1,178 new Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore on Tuesday, 3 deaths, unlinked cases unknown .as data hidden . thanks to the MTF

It would be fascinating to know among the 1,178 cases on Tuesday, or any other day, how many are fully vaccinated and how many unvaccinated. I think the statistics is important is it not?

Anatomy of a disaster:

Step 1 - Open-leg policies (by PAP 4G elites)

Step 2 - Lax border measures, letting in many imported cases (by PAP 4G elites)

Step 3 - Decision to live with COVID-19, go endemic instead of eradicating the virus (by PAP 4-G elites)

Step 1 + Step 2 + Step 3 = DISASTER in Singapore (made by PAP 4-G elites)

mRNA vaccines are looking more like placebos. Feel good for a few days and that's it.

"Q" at own homes - plan is to infect everyone in Singapore so that everybody develop antibodies to be immune to the coronavirus.

Those who survive go on to take part in the re-opened economy.

Those who don't survive move in urns to the columbarium.

World's first experiment, whole world watching to learn! Uniquely in Singapore !

If OYK doesn't resign, he will be sacked.

If he is not sacked, he will be booted out in the next GE. Even his whole GRC Team will go out with him, just like George Yeo, the one who proposed the Casinos to cause serious gambling problems in Singapore. Yet he projected himself as a vary pious Christian!?

He he is not booted out in the next GE, he will be in serious troubles. All those who died of Covid-19 will be seeking him out to drink coffee.

Even state media also chastise:

"'This is poor planning': Covid-19 home recovery patients voice confusion, frustration over what to do" - ST headline Sept 22

Frustration and confusion are mounting on the ground as Singapore's healthcare system works to cope with the latest surge in Covid-19 cases.

While some people have said they are unable to contact the Ministry of Health (MOH) for official advice on their specific situations, others have complained about the long lag times between testing positive and being taken to a recovery facility.

Head on the chopping block ?

Record 1,457 new cases today, 3 died. The march onward to economy re-opening! Hallelujah !

The handling of the COVID-19 Crisis by OYK is like a small kid playing with fire or a calf thinking that the tiger is just a kitten grown too big. Totally, out of sync with reality.

How can such an irresponsible immature person be given a ministerial post?

How can such irresponsible, immature and incompetent person be made responsible for the lives and health of Singaporeans?

3 deaths, 1,457 new COVID-19 cases and still rising. How fast the economy re-opens depends on how high the price they are willing to pay - the price of other peoples' lives.

What is the social-economic status of the recent deaths so far?

Ong Ye Kung's comments in ST interview published online today:

".. the Delta variant has continued to spread very quickly despite the measures currently in place, and daily cases have exceeded earlier projections"

"We had planned to have a preparatory period, during which we can gradually open up while handling perhaps 100 to 200 cases a day. But Delta did not wait for us to be ready and attacked us first."

"The fight against Delta is really like a war... and it can spring surprises which you never expected, so you have to be able to adapt and change strategies quickly."

.. two factors are crucial in deciding if Singapore has reached a critical stage - the number of serious cases and hospital capacity. And the Government has been keeping a close watch on both indicators to ensure that intensive care units and the healthcare system in general are not overwhelmed. "If this does not work, then we will have to explain to people frankly about the need for tighter restrictions,"

Asked about his assessment of the current situation, Mr Ong said that as of last week, things were still under control. But he added that the situation changes daily. He also noted that a new balance had to be struck with the virus, and people would have to learn how to co-exist with Covid-19. At the current stage of the pandemic, it is no longer possible, and also futile, to go into protracted lockdowns, he said, noting that infection numbers will inevitably go up again once lockdowns are lifted.

At the same time, this does not mean Singapore should lift all restrictions and open up to the extent that countries like Britain and the United States have. "What we need to do is to take the middle road, and everyone needs to adjust so that we can co-exist with the virus and find a new balance," he said. He added that there was a difference between co-existing with Covid-19 and treating it as an endemic disease like influenza.

There are too many unknowns with Covid-19, which is also more lethal, he said, citing Professor Leo Yee Sin, the executive director of the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, who had said it is too early to tell if it will become a disease like the flu.

.. with most people vaccinated and not exhibiting symptoms when infected, it has become trickier to link cases and figure out how the virus is spreading.

IN OTHER WORDS, DELTA DIDN"T PLAY FAIR; DON"T KNOW THE UNKNOWNS: LOST CONTROL !

"IN OTHER WORDS, DELTA DIDN"T PLAY FAIR; DON"T KNOW THE UNKNOWNS: LOST CONTROL !"

In other words, don't blame PAP because DELTA didn't want to listen and befriend PAP, they want to be independent of PAP in term of Spreading schedule, timing and who they want to infect and kill. Blame it on Delta.

And better still, very soon we may have our version of all these mutations combined into the ultimate variant, mother of all corona, the SIN corona, who infect people who are SINners (sinkies) and with bs media brainwashing SINners that they are uniquely protected by SIN corona, and obtain divine life, and that if they didn't die, they live up to 200 years old, and hence minimum sum must increase 5x. Does this narrative sound familiar
