How America interferes and meddles with Singapore's domestic affairs under the pretext of academic research

SINGAPORE: The Public Service Division (PSD) said on Monday (Sep 14) that it was reviewing the data and methodology of information of a working paper by a United States-based research organisation that alleged civil servants "disproportionately" purchased homes near planned but not yet publicly announced MRT stations.

In response to media queries, PSD said that it was “aware of an academic working paper comparing home purchase rates near planned MRT stations”.

The paper "reports that civil servants, as classified by the authors, disproportionately purchased homes near planned but not yet publicly announced MRT stations”, PSD said.

“We take any integrity concerns extremely seriously. We are currently reviewing the data and methodology within the paper and will refer to CPIB if there is a material basis to do so,” said a PSD spokesperson, referring to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau. CNA

What is so stunning about this matter? It is not about the abuse and wastage of American taxpayers' money on the domestic affairs of a red dot thousands of miles from the American homeland. It is not about the supposedly factual allegations of corruption in Singapore's low rung officials when corruption in the USA is massive and involved the presidency, Congress and Senate and affecting every American. It is not about the Americans treating Singapore as its 52nd state or a target of their malicious intent to stir shit in Singapore.

What is so stunning about this matter? If this paper was presented from some other sources, there will be cries of interference in Singapore's domestic affairs and the country involved will be dragged across the mud to be shamed. In this case, it is treated like a domestic affair, a report from within and duly given due recognition and attention. Is Singapore the 52nd state of America? Why no outcry about interference in Singapore's internal affairs? Why allow the world's number one terrorist state to put its dirty dick to smear the civil servants of Singapore?

The reporting agency is another American NGO. '“We find clear evidence of informed trading by civil servants: purchase intensity near planned MRT stations is higher for civil servants than for matched controls, with the difference concentrated one to two years before public announcements,” they alleged, adding that "robustness checks" supported their findings.' Where did it get so much money to waste time and human resource to conduct this mischievous act? What is its intention? To help Singapore to become less corrupt? Why are the Americans so concerned about Singapore when they have more serious corruption problems themselves, like their President pocketing money he raised and wanting to bribe the people with US$5,000 in an election?

The report alleged that the culprits were middle level civil servants. It assumes that these middle level civil servants are rich enough to speculate in Singapore's expensive beyond imagination property market, and it is so easy to trespass the HDB rulings. The report implies that it is not isolated incident but quite prevailing, meaning many are involved.

What do you think? Oh, maybe this is not interference. My apologies. Now Singapore will be very busy, like bull ass flies, on a witch hunt started by the Americans.

SINGAPORE: Two National University of Singapore (NUS) professors Ivan Png and Jessica Pan said on Tuesday (Sep 15) they knew nothing of a working paper alleging "informed trading by civil servants" and have asked the authors to remove their names from its acknowledgements.

Two other NUS academics named in the paper, Sumit Agarwal and Wenlan Qian, referred CNA to the authors. A fifth NUS academic, Professor David Reeb, said he may have made a comment or asked a question when an earlier version of the paper was presented years ago. CNA

At least 16 other academics, including the five from NUS, were thanked by the authors for their “helpful comments”. Some of the research by these academics was also cited in the bibliography. CNA

What are friends for anyway? They did not take Henry Kissinger's warning seriously and thinks that dabbling with snakes is the way forward.

If it involves HDB, the Cunts should know that civil servants are mostly rich enough and will not even bother to look at such pigeonholes. Moreover, HDB rules cannot easily be flouted.

All the time they were thinking and watching that only China wants to interfere in its affairs and leaving their back door open for the Cunts to do mischief.

The USA is on a campaign to interfere in ASEAN countries. The Philippines has always been in their bag. Indonesia has also more or less fallen into the trap set by the USA. Myanmar and Thailand are still under military control with the latter still keeping its respect for the monarchy despite attempts to get rid of it.

Vietnam is still sitting on the fence, while Cambodia is touch and go according to recent events.
