What's nonsense Singaporeans must work overseas to be better workers?
Own country main Government objectives are to create jobs and are first for their own citizens.
Don't be conned by these rhetoric as spouted by these scums who wanted you out so that they could have less competitions for their own careers.
Let me relate my own experiences.
Unless you are a high powered Management Staff with all sorts of bonuses and benefits to be posted overseas with your family in tow and they also enjoy all their benefits of sponsored overseas education and other perks then its alright you are posted overseas.
The worse is that when you are just a mid-management employee and you are in your thirties with small below teen children.
Posted alone overseas and sometimes even unable to return frequently due to work commitments.
Leaving all your kids to just your spouse alone.
Children needed a Father's Figure to balance their growth at this crucial time.
You be shocked that sometimes the mum could not really substitute a Dad's handling and understanding of especially a son's problems and insecurity.
They could turn out rebellious and later be real problems in the future.
So don't be stupid to believe all these well versed mantras of better and talented workers after a stint working overseas.
Also no guarantee that you be promoted after your postings as some balls carriers in your cohort may curry more favours with your bosses and you are being sidelined.
That's the reality.

The one who promote such idea are themselves FT. So they hope that sillyporean will listen to them and leave, then they could bring their own villages to replace the sillyporean.
Best country for Singaporeans to work overseas is India. Get the Indian experience, and many degrees, and be the darling of Singapore's foreign talents. Can aim to be CEOs of Singapore banks. Can make millions of rupees too.

Okay on the subject of whether Singaporeans must work overseas to be better workers, those not on board definitely are cheering on the sidelines because this does not affects their security and career.
A person who has no real choice to work here due to not able been employed as for various reasons than have to work overseas of their choices even in those menial jobs.
Alternatively, unless cannot be held when been posted as Company's Representative or Station Manager to their Overseas Offices or Industries
Even that as I said earlier those Mid- Management employee or Manager been posted alone there especially those with still young children will have many family as well as work problems in their time.
It's damn difficult for a single parent like your spouse to at same time having their own career and also run a family.
The young children definitely needed a Father's Figure to be on their side as pillar to their growing up and Security.
The children may faced problems in in their daily routine lifes of schools or social friends and its hard sometimes for sons to confide to their Mothers.
A Man's In the House gave them Security and Confidence.
Some many kept to their problems and became rebellious whence unable to solve them.
The wife's may called and related these happenings and tried to have the child and father to persuade and meditate the problems buy its less effective in face to face man talk.
Caught up usually with heavy responsibilities and works as the Station Manager and trips home less and less.
The gaps soon begins to appear when the family meets.
So those Higher Ups Feet solid on the ground Rhetoric Chantings Elites and Ministers could freely encouraged that you should work overseas to be better workers as they are NOT going there.
They are cosy and cushioned in their Heavens!
Unless you are going to be single forever and maybe divorced with no kids then posting overseas could be Heavens for them.
That's the reality
Actually, it is true India is the best country to work overseas, LOL. There is freedom to pee and poo on the streets, bathe in rivers, spit anywhere without getting arrested.
