What's nonsense Singaporeans must work overseas to be better workers?
Own country main Government objectives are to create jobs and are first for their own citizens.
Don't be conned by these rhetoric as spouted by these scums who wanted you out so that they could have less competitions for their own careers.
Let me relate my own experiences.
Unless you are a high powered Management Staff with all sorts of bonuses and benefits to be posted overseas with your family in tow and they also enjoy all their benefits of sponsored overseas education and other perks then its alright you are posted overseas.
The worse is that when you are just a mid-management employee and you are in your thirties with small below teen children.
Posted alone overseas and sometimes even unable to return frequently due to work commitments.
Leaving all your kids to just your spouse alone.
Children needed a Father's Figure to balance their growth at this crucial time.
You be shocked that sometimes the mum could not really substitute a Dad's handling and understanding of especially a son's problems and insecurity.
They could turn out rebellious and later be real problems in the future.
So don't be stupid to believe all these well versed mantras of better and talented workers after a stint working overseas.
Also no guarantee that you be promoted after your postings as some balls carriers in your cohort may curry more favours with your bosses and you are being sidelined.
That's the reality.

The one who promote such idea are themselves FT. So they hope that sillyporean will listen to them and leave, then they could bring their own villages to replace the sillyporean.
Best country for Singaporeans to work overseas is India. Get the Indian experience, and many degrees, and be the darling of Singapore's foreign talents. Can aim to be CEOs of Singapore banks. Can make millions of rupees too.
