Elon Musk's SpaceX Starship has three consecutive launch failures of his rockets designed to send a touted 100-ton payload into space, with launch 9 just exploding. The failures came even without even carrying the payload such launches were projected to carry, with only a fraction of the load in those test launches. The problem appears to be related to the rockets not providing the required thrust. Anyway, I am no space expert and am only repeating what the experts are saying.
The other reason why Elon Musk has categorically lost his influence with Trump has just been shown by Trump withdrawing Musk ally as nominee for the top NASA job. That is a clear indication of the fallout between the two toddlers. I believe those failures of SpaceX Starship has much to do with Trump's decision.
Elon Musk is now mired in so many controversies, including his drug addiction. True or not is left to be seen. This shows that no human, no matter how powerful, are infallible and no amount of exceptionalism is going to help. Man proposes and God still disposes. Nobody can run away from that.

But they will try to spin it as a learning experience, with failures needed to expose the faults. With each successive failure, they are able to correct the faults. Now, that is a very expensive way of correcting mistakes. But why worry, when the USA taxpayers are footing the bulk of the bill, with NASA underwriting most of Elon Musk's experiments, said to run into the tens of billions.
Good business strategy, when others fund the failures, but someone reaps all the benefits when success follows.
Not true that NASA is paying for it. NASA has no money. Its budget has been cut and it is just a PR company, doing nothing but gazing at the telescope 24/7 and writing science fiction using computer generated images. Now it is even cooking up story of a 50 year old antique probe sent to outer space, lost, but now somehow, can still transmit data to NASA from nowhere in space. Can anyone believe in this fantasy?
The material used would have disintegrated by now. The material used for the ISS is only good for 30 years. The material used for an antique probe would not last 20 years.
Knowing how computer chips deteriorate just after a couple of years, still sending signals to earth after 50 years is a tad too science fiction. But science fictions stories are always lapped up by science fiction followers. Never underestimate the stupidity has no cure syndrome.
