Now China's energy needs can migrate more towards
Russia. It is dangerous to do the energy trade with Saudi Arabia
performing an acrobatic about turn after all the rhetoric about pricing
oil in other currencies. We never know what Saudi Arabia will do in its
trade with China, with more pressure exerted by the USA going forward.
Perhaps time now for China to think about all the investments in Saudi
Arabia and do some rethinking.
That is why I say, BRICS needs to
admit membership carefully and not just for the sake of expansion
alone. Time is on BRICS side and taking time to evaluate is important.
In saying this I am thinking of Turkey's divided loyalty. It is not
going to work. It is either NATO or BRICS for Turkey. Then again, we can
never discount what kind of pressure will be exerted on Turkey if it
goes for BRICS.
Many are not aware that Saudi Arabia did not end
the pricing of oil in Petrodollars. It merely did not renew the 50-year
agreement with the USA, but the oil trade carries on as per normal and
its oil still priced in US$. This clearly indicates that pressure is
being applied against MBS. The other clear indication that not all is
what it seems when the USA kept its silence over Saudi Arabia's
officially not renewing the Petrodollar agreement with the USA. This
seems to me rather strange that the USA is willing to bear with such a
setback of monumental proportions in silence. We have all been totally
blindsided by MBS.
