Chinese people must be wondering why so many washed out disgraced American and Western politicians are queuing up to go to Taiwan. First there was Nancy Pelopsi, folllowed by Pompeo and some US ex- Congress delegates. Then there were some from EU NATO countries. The latest now is England's disgraced washed out politician Liz Truss an ex British PM of only 45 days standing and though now is still a Member of Parliament of the Conservative Tory party.
Each of these washed out disgraced politicians will stay in Taiwan as guests of the DPP for a few days during which time they would deliver toxic vitriolic speeches and condemnations of China. At the end of their visits each of these shameless politicians will collect hundreds of thousands of dollars from the DPP government in control of Taiwan, all at the expense of the Taiwan Chinese taxpayers. The DPP leaders are treacherous Chinese traitors who are die hard separatists and secessionists who betrayed the Chinese country and people. These DPP leaders are not Chinese actually but left behind descendants of Japanese army officers and Japanese government officers after the Second World War. However, they tend to be deceiving by assuming Chinese names though their minds and spirits are Japanese and they hope one day they would be able hand over Taiwan to Japanese rule again.
These foreign washed out politicians visits are provocative brutal interference in China's internal affairs. Liz Truss like the rest of the obsolete politicians find it fashionable to visit Taiwan and thereafter the visit to collect lucrative monetary reward for supporting the DPP. This lucrative monetary reward is the only motive for Truss visit despite strong home opposition to her visit.

Just like Pompeo, Truss would utter fiery bellicose language against China. She would encourage the Americans to send to Taiwan offensive military weapons.
She would also tell England to support the DPP and to suppofrt Taiwan to join regional trade pacts which only independent countries are eligible.
However, her words are just trash and carry no weight, not even in Britain where she is labelled as political fault finder and trouble maker in her party and in parliament.

Now they have to engage with Taiwan, as they know the situation is going to lead to another lucrative avenue for backdoor money laundering. The silly EU head wanted NATO countries to patrol the Taiwan Strait. Today, China's ship building capacity is able to build the entire British Navy equivalent of ship in one year, and going to build more in faster pace.

Those of Chinese descendants, are just following and being manipulated by the evil Whites, which we know are just capitalising on the Independence of Taiwan, which will be used by the USA to confront China. The fact that they USA Military had called Taiwan 'Their Unsinkable Aircraft Carrier' and cannot be returned to China, says all about why they wanted independence for Taiwan.
For close to fifty years there were little confrontation between China and Taiwan, until the last two decades when China became a threat to the USA. They then hype up the threat of China wanting to take back Taiwan into its fold, and the USA started instigating all the nonsense and pouring fuel over fire.

It is highly unlikely for a future conflict between the PRC and the ROC/Taiwan to run a course even remotely resembling the Russian-Ukrainian conflict currently unfolding. The reason lies in the mentality of the people of Taiwan, who are all about demagoguery, chest thumping, and empty bravado not backed by real commitment. I have commented on this point in many previous Quora answers. Those most vocal about resisting China to seek independence are often the same people who evaded military service, sent their entire family (if not themselves) to emigrate to foreign countries, or engaged in lucrative businesses on the mainland. The Taiwanese history of the past few centuries is replete with quislings who sold out to multiple waves of outside invaders to acquire fortune and social status with impunity, with loot and family eminence benefiting generations of descendants until today. The current Taiwanese president and her former head of the Executive Yuan are two living examples of this quisling culture unique to Taiwan. It will happen one more time when the PLA comes.
This has not been the tradition of Ukraine apparently. The kind of destruction of infrastructure during the current conflict did not happen on an extensive scale until the stubborn resistance by the Ukrainians left Russia with little option, who initially sought an approach of minimal collateral damage in order to keep the option of an early ceasefire negotiation alive. Russia turned to the strategy of heavy, indiscriminate bombardment only after the fierce resistance obviated such a possibility.
I am very impressed by the admirable and courageous resistance put up by the Ukrainians, no matter how they have been misled by their politicians. Knowing Taiwan well, I also know it is preposterous to expect the Taiwanese to put up even 1% of the fight of the Ukrainians. If it ever comes to a military conflict with the PRC, 99.9% of the Taiwanese you see today thumping their chests and chanting anti-China slogans will be nowhere to be seen, unless they are waving welcoming banners to the PLA. We are a very smart people, and we know what the Westerners like to see on their English-only NY Times, BBC and Fox News, thus we know how to put up the best performance for you. It costs us nothing more than some saliva and a few keyboards. One will be totally delusional, as are many Western politicians, to expect scenes of IRA gunmen or PLO suicide bombers to be re-enacted in Taiwan. No, it will not happen. The Taiwanese are not Ukrainians, and China will not be forced to make the same decision that Putin had to. It will be a walk in the park. Zero infrastructure destruction.
The only way to make the Taiwanese fight like hell would be to not allow them to make money. If China closes down the Taiwanese stock market or raises profit tax to 60%, then expect the biggest revolt in the history of Taiwan.
