Covid19 - Thanks for keeping me safe, jab, jab, jab....
A picture is worth a thousand words.
I would like to get a jab every month. It would make me feel safer. Thank you very much.
And I will continue to wear mask, keep social distance, avoid crowded place, work from home, etc etc.

Going forward, the whole of mankind will be turned into 'drug addicts', no different from those living on the Streets all across the cities in the USA.
Oh, there is one difference. Those drug addicts in the USA are illegal. This COVID19 drugging routine is legalised and free. Just try to understand the difference between legalised and illegal gambling, with both betting on the same thing.
The biggest "drug addict" will always be the govt, though not in the sense most people understand.
They are "addicted" to tobacco and alcohol....specifically the taxes. They'll do PSAs to tell us how BAD alcohol and tobacco are for our health, and tax them o the moon, knowing full well that the markets for these "sins" are inelastic...i.e. demand is not that sensitive to price increases.
Once they get "addicted" to vaccines, they'll have reasons to raise taxes...usually by the GST and Medical Insurance, for...wait for it... The Greater Good, which will always be the best bullshit reason for "control" ever invented. 🍻 🚬 💰💰
At this stage in the pandemic, all countries & everyone should just open-up.
Get rid of masks, social distancing, work from home, no dine in, only-5 dine in, etc.
Up to anyone & everyone whether want to vax or not, whether mrna or deactivated or vector or drink bleach or kns method also can.
LET THE REAL WORLD LIVE OR DIE STATISTICS TELL THE STORY
If you lockdown the whole country like Changi Prison & everyone in metal cages, with only special units in Hazmat suits give you dog biscuits to eat once-a-day. Of course the whole country will be Zero Covid. No need to have a single jab also Zero Covid.
But your GDP will slowly become shit. Your children's lives & careers also become shit.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, families have been unable to get together as much as we would have liked, especially those with loved ones abroad. With Vaccinated Travel Lanes opened and international travel progressively resuming, hopefully more families can reunite and celebrate Chinese New Year together this year. Large gatherings will have to wait a little longer, as the Omicron variant has forced us to maintain strict measures. But I know many of us have done our best to adapt, and learnt to stay connected through the internet. Many families will be organising virtual meetups effortlessly at the touch of a button, and livening them up with online fun and games.
Look out for the “uncles” and “aunties” who have become experts at snapping virtual wefies!
Even as we gather and celebrate in the festive period, we must continue to exercise social responsibility and take precautions. After all, we care for our loved ones by keeping them safe. Please remember to adhere to safe management measures, and keep up basic hygiene practices such as washing hands and using common utensils when sharing food. If you feel under the weather please stay at home, isolate yourself and get ample rest, just in case you are infected. There will be ample time to catch up on New Year visiting after you recover.
Getting vaccinated is another important way to keep our families safe. We started vaccinating children aged 5 to 11 at the turn of the year and have seen a good response. If your child still has not gotten his jab, please take him to the nearest vaccination centre soon. Vaccinations are safe and effective. They reduce your chances of contracting COVID-19, and more importantly greatly lower the risk of serious complications, including for the Omicron variant. This is true for everyone – not just young children and teenagers, but also and especially the frail and the elderly. So please encourage all your family members, young or old, to get vaccinated, and get booster shots when eligible. It is both for their own protection, and to protect others.
Chinese New Year is also a time to look out for all things auspicious. While COVID-19 initially caused a dip in the number of weddings, I am glad many couples have since gone ahead with their plans. After two years of COVID-19, marriages in Singapore have “caught up” and returned to pre-pandemic levels. Birth numbers have fallen slightly, but not as much as we had feared. COVID-19 or not, parents and grandparents still greatly look forward to welcoming new arrivals. The infants bring joy and warmth to the whole family, and carry our hopes and dreams for a brighter tomorrow.
The Government strongly supports Singaporeans who want to start and raise families. The Baby Support Grant, which provides parents some financial relief during the pandemic, is just one example. I hope that marriage and birth numbers will come roaring back in the Year of the Tiger.
In the new year, let us work together to resolutely overcome the pandemic with the strength of the Tiger, and seize new opportunities to build a better Singapore with the boldness of the beast.
I wish all Singaporeans good health, and a very happy Chinese New Year.
Well over 90% of our teens and adults have been protected from serious illness with vaccinations and boosters.
Our younger kids, 5-11 years old, can now walk in from Monday to Thursday without appointment, to any of the kid vaccination centres for their jabs.
For Friday to Sunday, slots are quite full, so register ahead if we want to do the shots on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
With the teen and adult population mostly fully vaccinated, they are now less likely to be infected than younger school children who are mostly now not get fully vaccinated.
With our seniors mostly boosted, their risk of hospitalisation for oxygen/ICU and/or death has drastically been reduced too.
Our week on week growth in case numbers is still more than doubled, but we are not yet seeing the 10 times in 10 days explosion that we saw in Europe from the Omicron tsunami.
Many European countries are at record daily new cases - much more than they had seen for their previous covid peaks, in the 100s of thousands.
Some like UK are starting to calm down from their peaks, though some may plateau at high levels as they have large pockets or regions of low vaccination.
UK studies suggest that over 70% of their Omicron cases have had been infected before - 2/3 have had PCR+ before, and 7-8% suspected they have had Covid before though without a PCR+ confirmatory test.
This high reinfection of past covid cases explains why Europe is seeing record numbers despite having gone through huge multiple waves before.
Even Germany is still ICUs filling up fast, despite the Omicron supposed to be milder. We need to keep an eye on the Baa Baa black sheep variants too!
In some countries like Denmark, South Africa and India, the newer Ba.2 is overtaking the currently dominant Ba.1 that has already pushed out the Delta globally.
So keep safe and take precautions for a safe CNY festive holid
What about your brother and sister? Have you invited them for reunion dinner this year? Since your father died in 2015, you have not invited them to CNY reunion dinner. WHY?
Have you call up your brother and sister to wish them good health and very happy Chinese New Year? If no, why no?
That's a good one Anon 3.07. But skeletons in the cupboard are to be hidden, not for public consumption.
Like the USA caring for the Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang but killing Muslims all over the Middle East and leaving the homeless and drug issues to fester at home.

Don't worry. By end this year, no need jab anymore.

Tomorrow night, we will gather with our loved ones to send off the Year of the Ox and usher in the Year of the Tiger. Some of us will celebrate with our families, while others will get together with friends and neighbours who have become family. This is the essence of Chinese New Year, which is about our families and loved ones. We share our joys and celebrate with them in good times, and look to them for support and comfort during difficult periods.

Baa, Baa, black sheep …
There are apparently 4 sub variants of the Omicron.
The granddaddy Ba.1 has driven out the Delta almost everywhere.
In certain countries, including Denmark, it looks like the younger Ba.2 is rapidly replacing Ba.1 as the dominant variant.
This means the Ba.2 is slightly more infectious than the granddaddy Ba.1.
I wonder what is happening to the other 2 sub variants.
Baa, Baa, black sheep ….

People who loves to hear:
"YES, SIR, YES SIR!"
always cannot forget Baa, Baa, Black Sheep.
That's natural for a self-proclaimed "natural aristocrat" and his swell-headed, arrogant, domineering second wife.
