China to Halt Key Australian Imports in Sweeping Retaliation

China has ordered traders to stop purchasing at least seven categories of Australian commodities, ratcheting up tensions with a key trading partner in its most sweeping retaliation yet.
Commodities traders in China won’t be able to import products including coal, barley, copper ore and concentrate, sugar, timber, wine and lobster, according to people familiar with the situation. The government has ordered the halt to begin on Friday, one of the people said, asking not to be identified as the information is sensitive.
The notice was verbally relayed to major traders in meetings in recent weeks, one of the people said. Iron ore, Australia’s biggest export to China, won’t be included in the halt, the people said.
The order represents a dramatic deterioration in ties, which have been strained since Australia barred Huawei Technologies Co. from building its 5G network in 2018 on national security grounds. Relations have been in free fall since Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s government in April called for an independent probe into the origins of the coronavirus.
“China seems determined to punish Australia and make it an example to other countries,” said Richard McGregor, a senior fellow at Sydney-based think tank the Lowy Institute. “They want to show there’s a cost for political disagreements.”
China has already barred meat imports from four Australian slaughterhouses, delayed lobster shipments from clearing customs, slapped tariffs of more than 80% on barley, and said it won’t allow timber from Queensland state because of pests. Wine is also under an anti-dumping investigation while Chinese power stations and steel mills have been told to stop using Australian coal. Cotton purchases have also been suspended. Bloomberg
China is retaliating against Australia. China should have done this long ago. There is no reason to trade with a country that openly talked about China as its enemy and blatantly insults and provokes China in everything. The Australians must be thinking that the Chinese are stupid and would continue to throw money at them after being attacked and smeared by them.
The Australians must take note that China is now not a pushover. Australia is, and China would roll over Australia as and when it likes. The Australians must be grateful and thankful that China did not do it. But if the Australians continue with their stupidity and arrogance to defy China, to treat China as an enemy, China must treat Australia as an enemy as well.
The white Australians still living in the past when the whites ruled the world. Not anymore mate. Be nice and humble, the day has come for China to rule over you, to tell you to behave and to kick your ass when you are naughty and disrespectful.

Likewise, Singapore bananas and mangosteens also must be thinking that the true Chinese are stupid and would continue to allow trade and investment with Singapore to go smoothly while Singapore's state media keep hammering and demonising China and the Chinese by using third-leg sidekicks like Bilahari Kausikan (literally means dog-dead-fucking in Hokkien) to do damage at will against China obliquely.

Australia’s trade minister, Simon Birmingham (bird in ham or bird brain) said yesterday that he had raised his concerns with Chinese officials about lots of rumours regarding trade issues.
He said he has asked for greater clarity from China over reports on an embargo by China that could hit a slew of Australian industries by Friday.
“There are lots of different rumours and stories at present and it is hard to quite define and discern which things are true, which things are inflated,” he told Sydney radio station 2GB.
China’s Ministry of Commerce had publicly denied the reports of a trade ban.
The Australian economy relies heavily upon Chinese trade and finances. Trade embargo by China is only the first step.
The next step will be financial restrictions and limitations to prevent the flow of liquidity from China to Australia and vice versa.
China may also impose the use of the Chinese Yuan instead of USD for all financial transactions between Australia and China.
Despite the chaos , mudslinging and threatening of court action in the US elections and the bullying of the Trump admin on other countries, PM Morrision commented the US is a GREAT democracy. You can always count on a good cheerleader to talk in that term. Peviously, he had spoken that US relations with Australia is that of a good friend while China is that of a customer. And this is exactly what China is doing, taking their $$$ where they are more welcomed. Australia should have no complaints.
The Australian Trade Minister is on denial that the retaliation is not true and hoping that it is not true. China's side is making it ambiguous, giving the Australians a chance to change their hostility against China and trade returning to normal. Also to let the Australians have enough rope to hang themselves if they choose to.
China is giving early warnings to the Australians that China can do more to stop trade with the Australians.
If the Aussies treat China just as a customer it will be acceptable to China. But they are treating China as enemy. This is unacceptable and they will have to pay for it.
The white racist and supremacist countries will always unite against non-white countries. Among themselves they may have their own differences and internal contradictions. But despite their own differences they will always close ranks to take down any Asian country which they deem to be rising up economically, politically and militarily. Because of the pandemic, China has temporarily suspended entry of non-Chinese nationals travelling from the United Kingdom even if they hold valid visas and residence permits, the Chinese embassy in Britain said on Wednesday.

He is likely going to start a civil war and declare a state of emergency, then declare curfews and use emergency powers to intimidate the opposite camp. Power has gone to his head like a child who has first tasted candy floss.
And most importantly, he will use the Supreme Court of 6 vs 3 to his advantage to corruptly overturn voting results that are in favour of Joe Biden and declare Trump the President for the next 4 years.
However, after going through all those troubles, he may not live to be the next President for long.
His health may give way due to the after-effect of the Coronavirus infection he had earlier on.
He may meet an accident and drop dead from his helicopter.
The Deep State may intervene via the shortest, fastest, easiest and simplest way it knows how to handle such an arrogant, incorrigible, chaotic and destructive element.
God may decide that enough is enough and simply tell Donald Trump's soul to take a rest forever.

As one of the 5 eyes, they know the big eye is behind them, so they can swagger all they like. But when China cuts off imports of what they needed to survive, and turn to alternative sources, things can be rocky and even permanent.

America does not look great after four years of Trump. Racial divide getting wider, social unrest rearing it's ugly head, infrastructure going back to the stone age, COVID19 still rampaging throughout the states with Trump having no plans whatsoever to combat it. Four more years of that? What about the vaccine that he promised will come out before November 3rd?
And do not forget, Mexico was supposed to pay for the wall and trade wars are supposed to be easy to win. Have the US really won? The US Government is still subsidizing the farmers, an accusation that they themselves started by accusing the Chinese Government of doing the same thing.
When another wave of COVID19 sweeps across the US, draconian lockdowns will follow as in UK. How could such draconian measures be used by Democratic countries like the UK? It is against human rights. Such draconian measures can only be for China to undertake, not for freedom loving countries of Europe. I don't know what to say?
China is now building up it's internal demand and supply, knowing the danger of dependence on specific countries, not only on agricultural products but also on high end tech requirements.
The case of Huawei and it's consequences have taught China a valuable lesson. With 1.4 billion population moving up the social ladder, internal demand is not to be scoffed at. Other countries have always been interested in China's massive market, why not produce the necessary stuff to sell at home.
China has turned barren deserts into rich agricultural land and even grown rice irrigated with salt sea water. It makes sense. For countries with a small population, they will need other markets to move their products, but not China. With such innovations, China would no longer have to face famine as in the old days. In adversity a country will always find ways to overcome problems.
For thousands of years China had been closed to the rest of the world and have managed to survive, albeit in less sustainable ways.
