All our ministers are earning more than Barack Obama, the President of
the USA. They are all carefully talent scouted, men and women of great
abilities. It is a waste that they should be made to deal with petty
problems like cleaning hawker centres, haze, dengue, public
transportation, primary school education, problems with childcare
abuses, and what else.
We are not making full use of our talented ministers and insulting them
with such menial tasks. They are made for bigger things. If we keep
asking them to solve mundane daily chores don’t be surprised that they
will lose interest soon. 大才小 用。It is like putting a gifted child in
primary one when he should be in the university. That was the same
problem Einstein faced when he was in school and was thrown out. Boredom
trying to do simple things when his intellect was meant for bigger
stuff like understanding the universe.
I think our ministers should easily fit into the seat in the White
House. Obama, please step aside. I am sure they will shine in the right
environment and the right challenge. The tougher or more challenging the
situation or problem, the more they will excel. In a way we are abusing
our multi talented ministers.
There is a problem though. The Americans would not be able to pay them. What a pity.

Singapore politicians won't be able to survive elsewhere because they have it so good here, the population here is majority timid, so submissive.
If you look at places like Brazil, Egypt, Turkey, you will know why.

i cannot agree more. Our ministers are the most talented and worthy of them in the world. They have this amazing ability to set their priority right by diverting important issues (aimgate, toddgate, hazegate, creative-accountingGate etc) at hand by trivial matter to get away with it, and work 100% everytime, and they see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil of their own party even though the party don't pay their salary, it is the taxpayer's to pay them millions by own created wallaby law. They can only see, hear and speak evil of other party and others who disagree with them.

We need more opposition MPs to check the power of PAP.
There is political disequilibrium favouring the PAP, despite garnered with Sporeans 40% popular votes it translated to only a handful of Parliamantary seat.
Due the GRC system, Sporeans who dun vote opposition party in the past could consider doing so to restore at least one third of the power back to the oppositon, to effectively check the govt of the day.
Hence the percentage of 50% of the popular votes is required to garner only 1/3 of parliamentary seats and must not be spread out if possible

No great man is totally free of any mistake. Whether it is the late China Chairman Mao Ze Tong, the late US President Thomas Jefferson, the late US President Franklin D. Roosevelt etc etc. Our founding PM and Singapore is not unlike the late China Chairman Mao and PRC. PRC to a great extent own its existence to the military genius of its late Chairman Mao Ze Tong without which they probably would have been annihilated by KMT in the mid-1930s and assigned to the dustbins of history.
In spite of some of the mistakes inevitably made, Great Men should be judged holistically by the huge contributions they had made as well. Somehow, it is akin to blasphemy to speak ill of someone as phenomenal as our founding father. I suppose it is destiny that we are somehow born Singaporeans. Our founding 1st generation leaders including foremost our founding PM are undeniably as Singaporean as Singapore itself. They would forever be part of Singapore's legacy and our very existence. Being disagreeable need not necessarily be in the form of utter disrespect to another person. There may be people who totally disagree with you but I would still not advocate open downright blasphemous remarks. What more if it is our national iconic founding PM? I believe many would agree that his legacy is almost part of our every day. Even the greeneries and the shade of many carefully selected and planted trees on our road sides indisputably more often than not bear his indelible marks in them.

Otherwise, we might still be singing God Save The Queen. No? Modern Singapore's founder, Sir Stamford Raffles and the British government turned Singapore from a fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world.
This happened in the 1800's ... long before Lee Kuan Yew was ever born.
Instead of spending so much time & effort re-writing history.
How about the PAPig government do some real work for a change?
