Happy Times are here

Today the ST generously gave space on its front page to Hsien Loong making bak chang and an equally happy Yeo Guat Kwang on his side. You can see that they are genuinely very happy people without a care and living a life of plenty. Swiss standard of living is here.

Back in my mind I was wondering how many Sinkies are enjoying the same kind of lifestyle with the wonderful growth that the country is chalking up all these years. If only more Sinkies can enjoy everyday the way Hsien Loong and his ministers and MPs are enjoying, having simple joy of making bak chang and enjoying every moment of it, the govt would have done it. It will really be a success story to tell the world, that we have achieved in building a country of happy and affluent people.

And he would not need to apologise for doing things wrong and no need to exhort the people on the need for more migrants to shore up the economic growth for the good of the people. Everything will take care of itself if more citizens can flash the same kind of happy smile. What I am seeing is that the happy smiles are on the faces of many foreigners here. Even the grandpas and grandmas of foreign talents strolling in the estates with their grandchildren are looking very contented with their lives here. You can see that they are really enjoying every moment of it like they are in paradise, a place where there is no worries, the good life.

Life is a bliss. Can't see any traces of stress or overworked syndrome.

If you cannot have personal happiness in Singapore, you probably have such a negative spirit that you deserve your self-made suffering.

Happiness definitely doesn't come from a politician posing for a photo op.

Got blessings?

PM Lee was speaking the truth when he declared that this event could happen only in Singapore,so he was very happy.
The rest of the audience were happy probably because the big boss was around and happy.

how many sinkies are enjoying the lifestyle - certainly a significant portion, 1 of 6 is a millionair here, and looking at the flashy cars, restaurants packed, shopping centres packed, condo showroom packed with eager sinkies with kids in tow. And I mean spoilt, loud and rude local born local breds who think they have arrived.

Will the good life last? Maybe not, if the govt dont do anything to our population. Sinkies are choosing not to get married, if married, prefer to have dog/cats instead. Some even choose to live alternative lifestyle. Soon, sinkies will be a dying breed. Singapore's market is extremely small, shrink further, why would any MNC want to invest here rather than our neighbouring countries whose population are much bigger and rents and labour cheaper? You want "got job", or "no job" ? You want a short sighted or long sighted govt ?

Singapore is an awesome place. But it becomes another level of 'awesome' if you are a serious multi millionaire/ billionaire.

Having 1-20 mil, is no big deal in Singapore. You still have to watch your spending, even if you have a nice cash flow.

However when the figure is greater than 100 mil (with a very healthy cash flow), then you can start to really Rock Out In Paradise.

A nice house will set you back 20-30 mil, at least. Then you'll probably want a "town" apartment, another 10 mil.

A European super car, a European hi-end SUV, and a day-to-day "utilitarian" vehicle to run around town -- total about 3 mil.

A snazzy watercraft of some kind, berthed at Sentosa -- 10+ mil. Then there are club memberships and whatnot -- a couple of mil.

If you like to tag on "extras" -- a couple of "trophy" girlfriends each with own apartment and car and "allowance" -- add your own figures lah. Maybe some "kopi money" to keep the girls' parents happy. (a bribe, or pimp-fee...call it what you like).

Got party?

It is widespread thing to encounter some sorts of illnesses within our
life, but the factor is it really is uncommon to meet the proper treatment as soon as.
