Can misquoting or misrepresenting the UN to mislead be sued?
The western media have ceased to add the prefix of ÚN backed' to the Permanent Court of Arbitration or The Hague Tribunal. The PCA or The Hague Tribunal has always been referred to as such as what it should be rightfully called until the PCA acted on the farcical case of the Philippines in its claims on some South China Sea islands with China. The Aquino govt thought it was 'legally'a right thing to do, with the backings of the USA and Japan to force China to agree to an arbitration that China had the full right not to participate. The whole ordeal was as good as what you could get of a kangaroo court in action. But with a blank face, the western media intentionally added the prefix ÚN backed' when referring to The Hague Tribunal to deceive their readers that the PCA/Hague Tribunal was indeed a ÚN backed' institution when it was NOT. And everyone, including govts who are part of the conspiracy to fix China, would sing the same chorus, that the PCA/Hague Tribunal, was ÚN backed' and insisted that its nonsensical rulings were legal and binding and telling China to comply and abide by it.
Today, this farce has been exposed, and failing to convince the people of the world that the PCA/Hague Tribunal is a ÚN backed' organisation, they have all but dropped this pretence. Western media and those crony govts have stopped using the misleading prefix ÚN backed' when reporting and referring to the PCA/Hague Tribunal.
The question is why? Have they found out that the truth is that the PCA/Hague Tribunal was not UN backed? Or did they come to the realisation that their lies could not hold water, that no one believes in their lies and thus have to abandon telling the lies all over again?
Or has the UN stepped in to stop the western media and crony govts to stop using the prefix to mislead the people of the world or be sued by the UN for abusing the good name of the UN?
For those who are still confused, the simple point, the PCA/Hague Tribunal is an independent organisation that serves the interests of willing parties who voluntarily seek its assistance to arbitrate on their disagreements.
The PCA/Hague Tribunal is NOT a UN Backed organisation with the equivalent stature and authority as an UN organisation. Period. Its rulings are only legal and binding on the the willing parties that sought its arbitration and judgement.

China standing up to American provocations and harassment
The growing provocations and harassment by the Americans and its cronies have reached a point where China finds it no longer bearable and it has no choice but to stand up to the Americans. The American provocations are not new and it is not that they were bearable in the past. China has been beefing up its military and defence capability to thwart the aggressive and bullying Americans all the years and is now in a position to say no, that China would no longer be made to swallow the bitter pill of foreign humiliation and threats. Xi Jinping has put an end to Deng Xiaoping's policy of being patience, bend the head low as if nothing has happened in the face of provocation and keep slogging on to build a strong China. China today is a superpower in every field and the days of Deng's policy of quietly bearing with taunting and humiliation are over.
The Americans and their cronies have not let up in the last few decades to constantly put pressure and obstacles in the path of China. There are now more than 400 American military bases surrounding China with the bulk in Japan and South Korea with nuclear weapons pointing at China. And American political and military leaders have been very vocal in wanting to start a war with China, with some shouting about a preemptive strike at China's nuclear installations and with the Japanese Commander of the American Pacific Fleet talking about war with China any moment.
With so much hostility by the Americans, if China continues to yield in appeasement, it would only embolden the Americans and their cronies and invite more humiliation and threats. The first sign of China standing up to the Americans was the farcical arbitration in The Hague where China refused to participate. This was followed by several incursions into Chinese waters by American warships in China's islands in the South China Sea. China responded by telling the Americans that it is ready to go to war with them. China's nuclear missile force and the other elements of the PLA have been put on full alert to a face off with the Americans. More war games were conducted in the South China Sea and all over the coast of China that included live firings.
Yesterday it was reported that China has seized an American probe in the South China Sea, a signal to the Americans that China would no longer be reactive and passive, on the receiving end of American provocation. China would act and this is just the beginning. The THAAD deployment in South Korea would face stronger opposition from China.
China did not stop at just tackling the Americans head on. Little USAs would also be taught a lesson if they misbehaved. China would whack the doggies to show their master that China meant business. The first whack has been delivered and the little USAs are starting to behave as what they are, with tails between their legs. With the little USAs knowing that they could not pull whiskers from a sleeping lion, the Americans would now have to take matters into their own hands to take on China directly, and China would respond accordingly, might with might.
The firm and unyielding defensive policy of Xi Jinping against American intimidation is taking shape. The Americans are pushing for war with China if they continue to misbehave, to provoke and threaten China, to conduct military incursions into Chinese territories. China has gone on to fortify its military defensive systems in the South China Sea to a level that would take a toll on the Americans should they be tested.
The American containment of China could see a new level of aggression and belligerence with the Chinese matching every American move. John Pilger's documentary on The Coming War with China is timely. Though sane people would want to avoid a nuclear war between the two nuclear powers, there are enough mad people in charge to want a war between China and the USA. The risk is very high and China is standing up to the intense American challenge to contain its growth, militarily and economically.

Silly bananas thinking like the West
I read this Bloomberg report in the ST titled ‘China’s investments changing its neighbours’ on 8 Dec. The main part of the article described the big investments China put into Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar and how the Chinese investments have boosted their growth rates to 7 or 7.5% that many countries would be salivating. China is investing in everything in these countries, from railroad to real estates and also shifting its low value factories into these countries. And Chinese imports from these countries more than double in the last five years. Should not these developments be good?
Here comes the punch line. All these are bad. Why, too much dependency on China and also the factories are at the bottom end of the value chain. Ok, ok, fair enough, putting all the eggs in one basket is bad. These countries must diversify, to trade with the rest of the world, to trade with Europe and America. Wait, wait, can these countries afford to purchase the over expensive products of the West? Or would the West want to trade with these countries and buy their agricultural products and raw materials? If no, then how, don’t trade with China and wait for the West to come calling? What about the 7% economic growth, 3% happy or not, good or not, if don’t trade with China?
And those low end production, why, tell China they don’t need them. Ask China or the West to transfer their high value production to these countries? Oh, sorry, Trump wants his factories back. And Europe will not be bothered to send their high value add factories to these developing countries. By the way, that was how China started, how Singapore started, with low value manufacturing, gained the skills and expertise and move on. Should these countries do away with low value manufacturing and leapfrogged China into high value add manufacturing? Do they have the skills, the technical people to be in the next level of manufacturing?
Why am I asking embarrassing questions? The western experts and bananas that think like the West are denouncing Chinese investments in these countries and transferring their low value add factories to them as bad. Should advise the govts of these countries not to trade with China?
Is that the solution? What is the alternative?
‘The biggest risk for frontier Asean economies is that Chinese inflows create “extractive” elites who entrench themselves in power,’ said Mr Song Seng Wun…’ May I add my piece of advice, stop all investments from China, and wait under the coconut trees for the coconuts to drop. Never mind if ‘These countries are getting a lot of money and opportunity from China…’ True, stop all investments from China, don’t trade with China. Go and trade with the West, the benefactors of these ever developing countries since the days of colonialism.
These kind of silly stories originating from the West have nothing good to say about receiving investments and trades with China. They would rather these countries remained under developed or not developing than to grow at 7% and getting a lot of money from China to raise the livelihood of their people. The solution is to remain poor and not be solely dependent on China. Just wait for the West, their former colonial masters to return to help them to extract all their natural wealth while keeping them poor as colonies.

Cleaner is another choice profession
Other than
security guards, taxi drivers and hawkers, the next choice profession for
Singaporeans looks like cleaners. There were several reports in the main media
about steady increments and bonuses for this profession. A cleaner can look
forward to $1,400 per month or $1,600 and with bonuses some more. So, for those
professions that are getting less than $1,600, it is high time for them to
switch profession and join the cleaning force.
The
attractiveness of being cleaners is that entry level is low. There is no need
to have a degree, no need to sit for courses and pass professional
examinations, no need to take courses on anti money laundering, no need for
character checks, no need to declare non indebtedness, and no need to attend
annual upgrading or refresher courses. And there is no authority to watch over
the cleaners like a hawk as if you are a crook, a cheat and can be called up to
‘lim kopi’ for minor mistakes.
If these are
still not attractive enough, cleaners can wear face mask when working to
conceal one’s identity for those that are too shy to apply. And for some organizations, cleaners used the
fireman or delivery lifts for more privacy. Think about the annual increments
and bonuses as a cleaner. Better than being self employed, with no increments,
no bonuses, no medical benefits, no staff benefits, and no financial risks.
After
posting these benefits I am getting convinced myself that being a cleaner is
not a bad idea. When a cleaner finishes his cleaning duties, he can go home
without a worry.
Singaporeans
that are jobless, underemployed, wrote resumes and got no reply, need not worry
anymore. They can just apply to be cleaners, the next choice professions for
Singaporeans that are displaced by foreigners, or the so called young and discouraged
Singaporeans that no one wants to employ.
There are
choices, and being a cleaner would soon be a lifestyle choice. Ph Ds, Masters
degrees from world best universities that cannot compete with backlane degrees,
this is a new employment opportunity. Don’t be choosy. You are lucky to be
employed.

Japan working hard for its just retribution
The two atomic bombs in Nagasaki and Hiroshima were not enough. They only settled the debt of Pearl Harbour, which is really nothing, 3 or 4 thousand men and women from the American Pacific Fleet and the loss of half of the Pacific Fleet.
The invasion of Asia, from the Koreas and China down to South East Asia, the air raids, rapes, looting, burning and massacres, comfort women and the destruction of the countries and millions of innocent lives have yet to be repaid. The paltry sums paid as compensation were nothing compared to the war reparations inflicted on China in the 1894/95 wars, the 21 Demands etc, etc. Though some South East Asians are very happy with the Japanese compensation and are jumping into beds with the Japanese, forgetting the invasion and massacres of their people, the great pain and destructions in Korea and China were too painful to describe and to bear. While these two nations would like to forget these dark passages of their histories, the Japanese are working very hard to remind them that Japan would want to repeat these sufferings to the Koreans and the Chinese people by drumming up the glory of Japanese Imperialism, by remilitarization and by taking aggressive, assertive and abrasive acts against the Koreas and China.
The refusal to return the Diaoyu Islands to China and the repeated claims to Dokto Islands owned by the Koreans would only ignite nationalistic fervour in the two nations. And the aggressive and threatening acts of intercepting and challenging Chinese aircraft and ships in the East China Sea, the cries against the North Korean threats and threatening to attack North Korea, would not go unanswered. The two countries are waiting for the right moment to return the Japanese the favour and to let the Japanese remember and experience the pains and sufferings of the two people during the Japanese invasion.
The denials by the Japanese of their aggressive acts and intents at China recently would only open up old wounds. This was what the Japanese said, ‘Japan said on Monday it had protested to China over a Chinese complaint that Japanese fighter jets had engaged in "dangerous and unprofessional" behaviour when they scrambled at the weekend as Chinese aircraft flew near Japanese islands…. But Japan rejected China's assertion.
"I have received a report from the defence minister that the Japanese planes did not conduct any close-range interference toward the Chinese military planes ... or threaten the safety of Chinese military planes or its personnel," Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said.
"The fact that China’s military unilaterally announced something clearly different from the facts is extremely regrettable and harms the improvement of relations between Japan and China, and we have strictly protested to the Chinese side," he said.
Suga said Japan would watch the actions of the Chinese military, "which are expanding and increasing", and make every effort towards "firmly protecting our country's land, sea and air space and, in accordance with international and domestic law, take strict measures against any invasion of our airspace".
These kind of hawkish and unrepentant talks are a stark reminder of the days of Japanese Imperialism when they rubbished all Chinese and Korean protests when they were militarily stronger and they are still behaving just like their Imperial past. Today, the militarily stronger countries of China and a combined Korea would flatten Japan in a matter of days and the Japanese would be given a taste of their own cruelties committed during WW2. Japan is asking for it, unrepentant and arrogant and aggressive, assertive and the end result would be a just retribution that they rightly deserved for their cruel crimes against China and the Koreas. When it happens, there will be no mercy. It will be a bloodbath across the whole of Japan in the same scale the Japanese inflicted to the Koreas and China.
And Japan is working very hard for this day by continuing their bad behavior to their neighbours and provoking them, reminding them that Japan has never changed and just as evil and Imperialistic as they were in the past. No one would be there to save the Japanese when Judgement Day comes for Japan, to pay its war debt to the Koreas and China. The Americans had their desserts, the Koreans and the Chinese are waiting for the main course.
There will be no tears in heaven.
Japan’s two greatest enemies are China and the USA. China for fear of a retaliatory invasion of Japan to repay the war debt and humiliation of the Chinese people, and the USA, for dropping two atom bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima and keeping Japan as a semi colony since WW2. Japan would want to make the Americans pay for the two atom bombs one day.
Their most hideous plan, if they could pull it off, is for Japanese Harry Harris to start a war with China using American soldiers and weapons, leading to the destruction of Japan’s two arch enemies in one go, without the Japanese having to do anything or to die for it. And Harris is rattling his sabre, wanting to charge into China with American boys and girls to die for him and his Japan.
