Singapore's get rich quick scheme...Huat ah!

 Many would not believe that one can get rich quickly in Singapore by joining the get rich quick scheme. Many Singaporeans may not know about this scheme. It is real, no bluff. Anyone still guessing, or think this is unreal? Anything that is too good to be true is not real. But this Singapore get rich quick scheme is very real. And for the last few decades, millions have taken advantage of this scheme to get rich. Some became very rich. Some became millionaires.

What is this get rich scheme? Many Singaporeans have also benefited from this get rich scheme by buying HDB flats or private properties. Many Singaporeans are millionaires many times over, just by owning HDB flats, or at least on paper. No one is complaining unless you miscalculated and mess it up yourself by selling too early or speculating wrongly.

I am not referring to this get rich scheme, but another scheme that in some way is related to it. The Singapore get rich quick scheme is the New Citizenship scheme. Do your math and see how much a new citizen can get, can be richer, just simply by becoming a Singapore citizen.

The most impactful item is the right to buy a HDB flat from the govt, actually two bites of the cherry. Just buy, sell, buy another HDB flat and sell again. To Singaporeans, many would have to stay on in the second flat. But for foreigners, oops, new citizens, they can sell twice, go back home and become multi millionaires in their home country. Just like that, making a few hundred thousands by buying and selling HDB flats, without having to work for it. Isn't this neat?

Then think of all the savings in utility bills, fees, education, hospitalisation, so much money to be saved and put away. 

Not only these, every year the govt is giving handouts, CDC vouchers, top ups in Medisave and CPF accounts. The total sum could be a few thousand dollars annually, with last year about the best, some getting more than $10,000 each. And the money in the CPF and Retirement Account are getting as high as 5% interest instead of 0.5% or 1% from the banks.

And there are also savings from taxes for citizens.

All these savings and handouts are real, minus inflation. Now you know why the queue to be Singapore citizens is so long. It is like striking lottery.

Yes, all that the USA is doing is not solving its own problems, just posturing, threatening, erecting trade barriers, sanctioning countries, forming alliances to counter China and trying to make sure China does not rise to overtake it. All the wrong priorities but taken from the same old playbook that is outdated and obsolete.

I think China decoupling from the USA is a good thing as far as China is concerned, not something that China should in reality fear about. The whole Global South market is all for China to exploit. Africa alone has more than 1.4 billion population, far larger than the USA and Europe combined. Which is why there is no more threat by the USA using the decoupling mantra against China, thinking that China will shiver in its pants. Now, even the de-risking narrative holds no water. The USA depends on China more than the other way round as in the past.

American terrorists strutting around like peacocks condemning others of war crimes

The USA and the West have no moral authority to accuse or talk about 'war crimes' committed by other countries.

The illegal Iraq War alone was justification enough to convict the whole USA administration of George W. Bush, but the UN, ICC, ICJ and human rights group just looked away as if nothing had happened. So, no war crimes were committed, it appears. How could 'war crimes' just be erased by using military threats to take down those who even dared to bring up the issue of war crimes committed by the USA, right before the eyes of the world.

This is the hypocrisy that we are seeing, w othere might is right and justice is just an empty and elusive slogan.

Which is why I say that all those world bodies were created solely to ensure the survival of the USA hegemony, nothing else. It is not about protecting the weak through the avenue of International Law and justice. It is to safeguard the interest of the sole superpower and ensure that the global system does not migrate into a multipolar world.

The world has been held captive by the West for too long. It is time for a change and a new system where fairness and justice prevail.

Today is Chinese New Year in Singapore

 Most businesses and govt departments are closed for the Chinese New Year holiday, today and tomorrow in Singapore. But all essential services are operating as usual, hospitality businesses are also operating as normal, unlike in the West when every service is down, can't even buy a sandwich during Christmas Day. Singapore has the advantage of different races covering for the other during their respective holidays. Those working will still be paid double wages for working on a holiday.

China will be having a major break, 10 days holiday for its people to go home to share time with their families and loved ones. Many Chinese are as good as working 'overseas', ie working in Chinese cities far away from their homes, the villages or small towns. Chinese New Year is time for reunion, with the biggest migration of people, hundreds of millions on the move to be home, to catch up for lost time, especially the one child family with children left in the care of parents and grandparents while the mothers and fathers work in the big cities.

However, Chinese productivity does not stop. Factories continue to operate, without light, without sound, without workers, like the major ports, fully automated or with robotic workers that do not need rest, break or holiday. This is the productive capacity of China in a new tech world, to earn more than one US$1 trillion in trade surplus operating 24/7. And there is no fear of ageing population when robots and machine are taking over from human beans..

What are the West doing in the same time? They are talking about national security, meaning their security versus the world's insecurity. They are still talking about building empires to rule the world. Their security is the world's insecurity. Their daily news coverage is about wars, threatening wars, about control and gangsterism, not about productivity, not about manufacturing goods and services for the good of mankind. And they are unhappy that China is making US$1.2 trillion trade surplus for year 2025 by working nonstop.

The American terrorists, with thousands of nuclear warheads, are demanding that Iran must not have nuclear bombs. If Iran refuses, they will bomb and kill Iranians. What kind of logic or morality is that? Anyone questioning why this is so, or accepting that this is the right of the Americans? Who do the Americans think they are? They have behaved like international terrorists for decades. The Europeans had been and still think they are the international gangsters, to bully and rule the world. They decide how the rest of the world should do and live by.

Why not the rest of the world be telling the Americans to disarm, dispose off all their nuclear weapons or the world shall kill the Americans? Of course the rest of the world did not have the military heft to do so. Only the big bully, the American terrorists, can terrorise the world, to dictate to the world in their own terms. They write the rules for the world.

This is changing. The rest of the world will not accept this anymore. Iran is the last frontier, the last wall to stop American bullying and aggression, to think they can go around the world to kill people as they like with impunity. The American terrorists are saying, We have the right to kill!

While China is all about manufacturing of goods and services, the Americans and the West are all about conquest, domination and killing. And they branded China as aggressive and expansionist, and called themselves peace keepers. What an irony!

It is catastrophic when those at risk choose to go against their own kind

It is catastrophic when those at risk choose to go against their own kind. They left loopholes for others to exploit and is very sad indeed.

I came across the story of Yeo Hiap Seng and the family feud that resulted in the loss of a US$300 million empire (?) falling out of the family's control. The company is now in the hands of the Robert Ng, the eldest son of Ng Teng Fong, with his majority stake acquired during the family tussle.

While the family were fighting each other, two billionaires were looking at the Yeo Hiap Seng piece of factory land along Bukit Timah Road that was to be developed into private residential housing. Quek Leng Chan and Robert Ng we both looking at the piece of Yeo Hiap Seng land, which was later to be taken over by Robert Ng.

Yeo Hiap Seng is still operating at another location in Senoko Way, while the Bukit Timah site had been turned into a residential enclave.

The Chinese had this saying - 'The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the sparrow behind'.
