NTUC Fairprice - Are pioneer generations senior citizens?

 A few years back I witnessed a very frustrating incident inside a NTUC Fairprice outlet. The auntie cashier looking nonchalant, smug and aloof, was watching over a few pioneer uncles and aunties looking lost, not knowing what to do, all because they did not have a seniors identity card. All they had were pioneers cards issued by the govt. They had no clue what was a seniors card. NTUC surely did not issue any seniors cards, and so did the govt. The only seniors identity card was issued by SMRT.

You see, NTUC Fairprice had announced giving discounts to senior citizens above 60 years and pioneers on different days. Apparently the cashiers were instructed that on days when discounts were given to the seniors customers, the seniors must produce senior identity cards to qualify for the discounts.  These cards are only issued by SMRT, not NTUC Fairprice. And on days when discounts were given to pioneer citizens, pioneers would have to produce their pioneers cards to qualify. 

The qualifying age for seniors cards by SMRT is 60 years. NTUC did not issue senior cards and depends on SMRT senior cards as proof of age. At that time, the youngest pioneers were 68 years! For days when discounts were given to pioneers, senior card holders would not qualify. On days when discounts were given to seniors, isn't it only natural for pioneers to qualify as they are much older than the seniors? No, this is not the case in NTUC Fairprice.

The problem was the instruction to show the respective cards, seniors or pioneers cards for discounts on the respective days. So on seniors discount days, must show senior cards. Pioneers cards not acceptable on seniors days. And not all pioneers have senior cards issued by SMRT unless they applied for it. 

This was why the above incident took place.  The unthinking and refusing to think cashiers would only give discounts if seniors cards are produced. Pioneers not recognised as seniors! No senior cards no discount. The pioneers uncles and aunties could not believe it but could not do anything and walked away angry and frustrated. What to do? Boh pian. The unthinking cashiers would not budge. That was what they were told to do. Dunno which idiot gave them the stupid instruction.

To many unemployed and retired seniors, saving a few cents is important and meaningful to them. You can imagine the aghast when told they would not be given the discount without showing a seniors card and their pioneers cards not recognised as seniors. And the equally unthinking cashiers just stood there looking at the lost looks of the pioneers unable to produce a senior card with an arrogant grin.

I wrote to NTUC after witnessing the stupidity of the cashier or was it the stupidity of NTUC Fairprice, for not getting this right, that pioneers are older than seniors and on seniors days, producing pioneers cards should be good enough as proof that they are older than the seniors. NTUC replied that they had sorted this out and pioneers cards would suffice and be acceptable on seniors days. The said NTUC Fairprice outlet was told and this was no longer an issue. But...it seemed that they only told this NTUC outlet and not others.

A few weeks back, in another NTUC Fairprice outlet, right next to the said outlet, had the same problem. The cashier demanded for my seniors card, pioneers card not acceptable to qualify for seniors discount. Not that I needed to save the few cents. But many illiterate pioneer uncles and aunties would be rudely refused the savings when they needed most by these unthinking cashiers. This time it was a young girl. I can expect the older auntie cashiers that might not have much education to act this way. But young and educated cashiers should know what is the purpose of producing a card to verify the age and pioneer generation uncles and aunties are much older than seniors cards holders, now youngest is 71 years. I explained this to the young cashier, but still she insisted on the seniors card, meaning that it was the instruction given to her. So have to obey like all daft Singaporeans.

I told the cashier not to perpetuate this silly procedure and to raise it up with her supervisors. Yesterday it happened again, demanding for seniors cards, and pioneers cards not accepted as proof of age. Fortunately another cashier reluctantly said it was ok to accept pioneer cards, not that they had been instructed to accept pioneers cards as proof of seniority. It was just her initiative/flexibility. I told them that this is the reason why daft Singaporeans would eventually be replaced by thinking and street smart foreigners. Our daft Singaporeans, including the young, are taught not to think, just follow the rules. Or is it the culture that is promoted in the island, kiasu, kiasi and kia cheng hu. Cheng hu or authority said so, just follow? Don't ask, don't question, don't think?

NTUC Fairprice, if you are reading this, please do the necessary and stop this ridiculous rule. In the first place you don't even issue seniors cards. You depend on SMRT seniors cards to verify the age. Why can't pioneers cards be good enough to verify the age of seniors when they are more senior than the senior card holders?

Stupidity has no cure is becoming a national disease in Singapore. And poor illiterate pioneers are the victims of this stupidity in NTUC Fairprice outlets. Oops, even the young are taught to be stupid and unthinking. Please remember, you may be earning millions and a few cents are nothing to you. Spare a thought to the numerous retired and unemployed uncles and aunties when a few cents count and matter to them.

PS. Or is it the intention of NTUC Fairprice to give discounts only to seniors and not to pioneers on seniors days as pioneers are not seniors?

'A majority of Americans view China negatively and believe it is the country that presents the greatest threat to the United States, according to a survey of Asian, European and North American respondents by a prominent US think tank.

Four-fifths of national security and other experts in Asia, Europe and the US believe America would win a war right now with China, according to the poll of the American public and of Asian, European and American “thought leaders” – experts from business, academia, human rights and national security communities – released Tuesday by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies.'  (CSIS).

When has China been a threat to the USA? And what is this nonsense called threat? The only threat is that China is going to become richer and more advanced as a nation in every field and the Chinese people are going to enjoy a better quality of life than the Americans. Why is this called a threat? 

China is not going to invade America or any country, definitely not the shit house called India. What for, asking for endless troubles?  The days of invasion and conquest are over, obsolete. No longer can a country invade another country and genocide its natives like the whites did to North America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to make sure the natives would never be able to fight back to reclaim their lost land. 

It was not easy for the white Americans to decimate 100m native Americans. It is not going to be possible to wipe out 330m Americans or 1.3b Indians to repeat the white European's act of conquest and to live in peace, with barely any natives alive to fight back or pose a real threat to their occupation.

Why are the Americans so obsessed of a China threat? Why the hatred for China and Chinese? If there is any reason for such hate, it is for the Chinese to hate the whites and the Americans for invading their country, colonised, robbed, looted and oppressed the Chinese people for the last 100 years. The Chinese never did that to the Americans or to any white country or coloured country. For centuries, the whites have created and caricatured a Chinese people that were unscrupulous, faceless, feckless, useless and unworthy, for the whites to love to hate. A people that were impoverished by the conquest and oppression of the whites and eking for a living as the poorest creature on earth, lack of education and pride and ambition to live like normal human beans.

If there is any reason to hate, the Chinese people have all the reasons to hate the whites for discriminating against them, oppressing and suppressing them, for demonising them and smearing them as the worse of human beans. Instead, the Chinese did not hate the whites or Americans for the things the whites did against them.

Stop living with your evil and fabricated lies and myths against the Chinese people. The Chinese people have all the rights, like all other human beans, to live well, to live a good life in peace and prosperity without going to war with anyone. But the evil Americans are talking about wars to kill and destroy the Chinese people everyday and even in their sleep, all because of their own biased and unjustified hate for the Chinese people.

The Chinese people and the Chinese Civilisation are the most wrong people of the world, invaded and colonised by the Mongols and the Manchus and then by the whites, always a victims of external threats. Today the Chinese are rediscovering themselves and their self worth to muster and maximise their intelligence and industry to improve their lives without invading or conquering any country to steal and loot their wealth and resources. The wealth created by the Chinese people is all through hard work and creativity and productivity, without firing a single bullet at anyone.

But the warlike whites, the Americans, are accusing China and the Chinese of aggression when they are the ones that are being aggressive and invading countries after countries, in the pursuit of endless wars, including China and now starting a trade war and threatening China with an open military war..

Stop your white lies, evil white men and women. You are the real devils, the real threat to peace, the menace to the Chinese people and people of the world.

US making India its top fighting dog

 NEW DELHI: A top US envoy on Monday (Oct 12) called China “an elephant in the room” and said Washington is keen to advance India’s interests across the Indo-Pacific region.

Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun said the US was exploring ways to empower India without altering what he called New Delhi's “strong and proud tradition of strategic autonomy"....

“India has a strong and proud tradition of strategic autonomy, and we respect that. We do not seek to change India’s traditions,” he said. “Rather we want to explore how to empower them and India’s ability to defend its own sovereignty and democracy and to advance Indian interests, across the Indo-Pacific region.”

Above is from an AP article in CNA. Stirring shit and stoking for wars is the forte of the menace of the world. Now seizing the opportunity to fan the ego of India to front the American attack on China. And India loves it, dying for the attention of the Americans and to prove to the world it has arrived as a super power to take on China.

The thing is who is going to war and who is going to die? After being in the cold for so long with world news only about China and the US, India finally find its way to get some attention by starting a few aggressive moves along the borders with China in Ladakh. India is now in the picture and being courted by the Americans with promises of more arms to fight China.

The interests of both India and the US coincide and more sparks could fly if the Americans pull the right strings to flatter the Indian ego and dreams of become a superpower. Standing up to China and boasting about preemptive strikes against China go a long way to impress the Americans and Indian pride. 

Historically it is always the bigger powers that would provoke and start a war with a weaker enemy, just like the Americans going everywhere threatening every country and wanting to start a war with smaller countries. But with the backing of the world menace, the evil Empire, smaller countries also think it is ok to provoke and attack big powers like China. Some silly Asean countries think so, and India also thinks so.

All they are asking is to be whacked by China just like silly Vietnam thinking too big of itself, wanting to take Chinese territories along the Sino Vietnamese border and South China Sea islands. After being taught a bloody lesson in 1979, now not a whimper to be heard, and quietly withdrew from Cambodia and Laos and forfeited its IndoChina dream. 

Now it is India's turn to attempt to pull the whiskers of the dragon. And the Americans happily pulling the strings from behind and shouting, 'Go India, go.' India still refused to admit that it is inferior to the PLA in everything and think this time it is more equipped to avenge their embarrassing defeat by China in 1962. That was such a humiliating event in the history of war. No army ever been defeated with hardly a fight and just run and run for their lives, dropping weapons and everything just to escape from the PLA. So today and everyday crowing about how they could defeat China with superior weapons and everything.

The Americans would be most happy to fulfill this wild Indian dreams. Go and fight China and become minced meat. The Americans would be supporting from behind with more weapons, but remember to pay, not for free, like the obsolete F21s, actually refurbished F1

Go India, go, you can win, you are the best, world best army no one can match.

Singaporeans untalented - This is what Singapore is turning into

 A nation of POVs and food deliveries

The exponential growth of young people doing PHVs and too many senior PMETs out of jobs have forced a change of PHV policy that only 30 and above are allowed. I already had many friends who graduated from Poly and ITE doing Grab Food, some are doing PHVs as they had license. The PHV friends told me many young grads from Polys and universities doing PHV too, even Masters grads. Singapore seems to have very highly educated doing PHVs and Food Deliveries. People from all the over the world would be shocked to find out that Degrees and Masters in Singapore from NTU and NUS are doing low level menial jobs.....

 The only jobs most locals can have are PHV and Food deliveries on top of being self employed, this is very sad for many of us.

Above is from an article by a Rahim posted in TRE. How true is his description of the Singapore employment scene? Walking the streets, it is so frequent to bump into a food delivery guy or gal. And the roads are full of PHVs, a kind of part time job but increasingly becoming the primarily job of Singaporeans that have lost their jobs and unable to find another job.

Without the statistics, some twits would say this is not true. Show me the proof, that Singapore is now a nation of PHV drivers and food deliverers? So if no one can come up with the numbers to prove that this is true, then it must be false. Where is pofma?

How can one called Singapore a nation of PHVs and food deliveries? What kind of numbers is needed to say that this is true? What is the definition of this statement?

Nevermind, don't waste time arguing about such things. Make sure you don't become one, your family members do not become one, your friends do not become one, unemployed Singaporeans do not become one. There are many better jobs on offer, like cleaners and cleaning supervisors etc etc. Do not be choosy, got job is already a blessing.

This is the new Singapore where aspirations of the past generations are history. Today any job also good, and don't count on that degree from one of the world's top universities in Singapore. Cannot get a job means the papers are useless, though very expensive to get one. Better go to get one from India or the Philippines, their papers are more valuables here and come with the title, 'foreign talents'. Degree mills also can, as long as not found out. It is very difficult to find out because no one is interested in finding out. Can work can already, no need paper qualifications, no need to check.

Welcome to Singapore. Singapore needs foreign talents. The door is always open, wide wide for foreign talents. Untalented or no talent Singaporeans can do all the manual or part time jobs like PHVs and food deliveries...and NS.

Singaporean PMETs are attending upgrading courses to become cleaning supervisors and waiters and waitresses. The luckier ones may become nurses.

The imbeciles cannot see the harm done to Singaporeans and their families.

My block so many locals without jobs, some ex PMETs forced themselves to go do PHV, some end up at the hospitals doing the menial jobs of pushing patients around.

All these have local qualifications from ITE, Poly and even university. And many are like in their 40s and 50s only….

This is very sad for Singapore honestly.

I see those third world foreigners from Vietnam, India, Philippines, PRC and Malaysians in office doing the jobs we can do and many even living in condos…… Their degrees all from unknown universities….

Singapore govt keeps saying we need more and more and must keep doors open. They do not create enough jobs, they just sacrifice older local PMETs to make way for their beloved imports. Many of these imports have become PRs or new citizens.

The worst thing is when these foreign imports start bringing their families, friends and relatives….. plus hiring their own natives…. which explain now very hard for locals to find jobs because many of these foreigners which includes PRs and new citizens are in management!!!

Moon landing - The greatest hoax of the century crumbling under the light of exposure

The above picture provided by the NASA was the most convincing proof that man set foot on the moon when American astronaut Armstrong claimed to have landed on the moon. This was followed furiously over the next couple of years by another 7 or 8 missions and more American astronauts landing on the moon. The world gulped down every information and pictures provided by the Americans as proof of this scientific breakthrough and a historical event for humankind. 

Today, many doubts have been raised as to the truth of this American achievement or hoax of the century. After having a cakewalk on the moon like child's play, the American suddenly abandoned all missions to the moon and as good as scrapped the whole moon project forever. Never were they able to go to the moon again and citing that they have lost the technology to do so. Even the blueprints were all lost.

The poor Americans were so pathetic that they could not produce any rocket to take them even to the International Space Station that is a fraction of the distance to the moon and have to depend on Russian rockets to give them a lift, a helping hand to get to the Space Station.

The above picture that was the ultimate proof of the moon landing, is also the ultimate proof that the Americans had not been there, that it was all a hoax. The surface of the moon is dry and covered with loose sand or dust. How on earth could a cake of mud appeared on the moon's surface with a perfect foot print on it? And why there was this cake of mud in nowhere and surrounded by loose and dry moon crust? How could this be possible, be true? A piece of mud suddenly appeared on the moon surface with a footprint made on it? If there is mud on the moon, there will be water and life forms!

Below is the latest attempt by the Americans, after giving up on NASA, to seek the private sector to help them fly their astronauts, not to the moon, but to the Space Station. And they are still having difficulties trying to do it. Below are a few paragraphs from an article in Yahoo News.

 

SpaceX's next astronaut launch for NASA won't fly on Halloween after all.

The upcoming Crew-1 mission, which will send four astronauts to the International Space Station, had been scheduled to lift off atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on Oct. 31. But the launch will now occur no sooner than early to mid-November, NASA officials announced today (Oct. 10).

The delay will provide "additional time for SpaceX to complete hardware testing and data reviews as the company evaluates off-nominal behavior of Falcon 9 first stage engine gas generators observed during a recent non-NASA mission launch attempt," NASA officials wrote in an update today.

That recent attempt was presumably the attempted liftoff of the GPS III SV04 satellite for the U.S. Space Force, which was aborted on Oct. 2 with just two seconds left on the countdown clock. The abort was caused by an "unexpected pressure rise in the turbomachinery gas generator" in the Falcon 9's first stage, SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk explained via Twitter on that same day.

Crew-1 will use a different Falcon 9, of course, but NASA wants to make sure that all possible issues with the rocket are fully understood before putting astronauts atop it again....
