Covid19 - Are foreign dormitory workers no longer infectious after being cured and cleared of Covid19?

SINGAPORE: Authorities are monitoring migrant worker dormitories to manage the risk of new COVID-19 outbreaks, even after the completion of testing for all these workers.

"There have already been instances where new cases of COVID-19 cases are detected at previously cleared dormitories," said a joint news release on Tuesday (Aug 11) by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), the Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Health Promotion Board (HPB).

"The Interagency Task Force (ITF) is actively monitoring the dormitories to manage the risk of new outbreaks."....

1. At higher risk dormitories, wastewater will be monitored for traces of the coronavirus....

2. In a separate statement later on Tuesday, MOM said that all dormitories have been declared cleared of COVID-19, with the exception of 17 standalone blocks in purpose-built dormitories that are being used as quarantine facilities.

This means that all workers living in dormitories have either recovered or have been tested to be free from the virus, except for 22,500 workers still serving out their quarantine period, said MOM....

3.  "With the completion of dormitory clearance, and BCA giving permission for all construction firms to resume work from Aug 10, the majority of foreign workers (including dormitory residents) are now able to resume work," the labour ministry added.

Above is from CNA. There are several points of concern now that they knew that new cases can still be detected from dormitories that have been cleared of Covid19. And from all sources of information, people who have been infected and cured could be reinfected again and also could be harbouring the virus that can then spread to new contacts while they appeared to be asymptomatic.

Read point 1 above, waste water could have traces of coronavirus.  Where did the waste water go to? Think what Newater is all about.

When they said dormitories are declared clear does it mean that the people in these dormitories would no longer infect others and can be let out?

And the third point, can resume work in the construction site. Would they be allowed to move out from construction sites, to eat or to socialise?

The big question, how safe are the foreign dormitory workers that have been cleared from Covid19 and would they be allowed to mix freely with the rest of the population? And what are they going to prevent the waste water from getting into our drinking system?

Today's news reported there would be a trial period for some of the workers to visit recreation centres, do some errants and buying food. Hope they start these cautiously and monitor them carefully as the risk of reinfection and being asymptomatic carriers is very high. If only 5 or 10% of the foreign dormitory workers are infectious out of 350,000, we are risking for a big surge in infected cases.

What's wrong with leadership and management in Singapore?

First NOL gone! Sold to French consortium that turned it around within one year. Some more, with profits. Doesn't it ring a very loud bell?

Now, Keppel Corp too is going under.

Temasek has evoked a clause in the offer made in Nov 2019, before COVID-19 Pandemic came about, and just chicken out of her offer to purchase up to 51% controlling shares, because of Keppel's heavy losses in recent time (mainly due to the Global COVID-19 Pandemic).

What next for Keppel Corp? Sell to French consortium again? Or rename Keppel Corp to Keppel Corpse?

If anyone were to examine the Board Of Directors and the Management Team of Singapore's big business entities, you will generally find four things in common:

1. Appointing scholars and academics to run the organisation, perhaps thinking that they are God-sent to Singapore: The Jacks of All Trades (but Masters of None, except MBA).

2. Appointing people with no experienced, or experience in the wrong fields, to helm the organisation. Oh, yes, credentials are aplenty of course, and probably also smooth or impressive talkers also? Or could they have been pulled into the organisation by long and strong ropes (not strings, which are not too strong).

3. Appointing foreigners to seat in important positions of influence, instead of as advisers or consultants. Thereby, allowing them to have full control of manpower or financial decisions that affect organisational resources and performance.

4. Old dogs cannot learn new tricks is a truism. Not just an old saying. Allowing a person to stay far too long in an organisation where he/she has become too big to be moved, replaced or sacked. In other words, he/she has made himself/herself an Empire that he/she has become the Only Indispensable Emperor or Empress Dowager. This is does not only gives a bad image to that organisation but is also bad for business, new ideas and progress in leadership renewal. Most crucially is that losses are easily and usually covered and manipulated until the organisation goes under or go bust, until it is too late and become too big to allow it to fail. So, ultimately taxpayers' money becomes a very expedient but expensive commodity to save the day.

The same glaring problems can also be found in the leadership and management of the various government organisations and agencies. That's why transparency and accountability have become such a huge issue. Plus all the ridiculous cloaks and daggers to maintain absolute secrecy about someone's remuneration and bonuses, that cannot meet scrutiny and sunlight!

While real gold is not afraid of fire, paper cannot cover that fire. One day, in the not too distant future a new government is going to run the country and the truth must be revealed at all costs. No stones should be left unturned. Justice must prevail over Cunningham!

We may not live to see that day. But our future generations will.

Maybe I have spoken too fast? Not thinking deep enough?

Maybe our future generations would be replaced by CECA-Engineered Back-Door-Entry India Indians?

That's why I say that the Fair Consideration Framework is not fair, and does not work, but only a frame with no human face. It is just a frame up.

CECA Indians have been deliberately exempted by the FCF (which can also be the initials for "First Cover-my-ass First"?). Look into that document (or toilet papers) carefully.

That is the reason why it is not fair to other foreign companies, especially those from China and Taiwan.

Singaporeans, be grateful...hope they will be grateful to you after they take over your country

Now a new initiative is seeking to repurpose the funpacks to help migrant workers.

Started by A Good Space — a co-operative that brings together individuals and companies for charitable causes — the initiative is calling on Singaporeans to fill their funpacks with items that may be useful for migrant workers.

"As we celebrate National Day, we hope to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for the sacrifices that our Migrant Worker community has made in building our beloved city," wrote the organisers on a petition linked to the initiative.

Organisers have suggested items such as hand sanitizers, kettles, portable chargers, masks, or earphones... the mothership.

Saw this kind message in the mothership. Many Singaporeans who have done well, who have lived a life without knowing poverty and hardship, are grateful for the good life they are enjoying. And they can relate this to the tough life the foreign workers are having building more HDB flats for them.

While many Singaporeans are pulling their heart strings to want to share their blessings with the less fortunates, let them not forget the Pioneer Generations and the Merdeka Generations that build this foundation of wealth for them to show their kindness. The earlier generations of Singaporeans slogged real hard to build from scratch a prosperous Singapore today. It was really tough. Their life, the working condition, their pay, their living quarters, were no better than those of the foreign workers today. They did not have a govt with all the machinery and regulations to protect them.

Many from these two generations are still alive, jobless and scrapping for a living, living on charity, some working as cleaners, sweepers, security guards if they are lucky. Some are living from paycheck to paycheck and considered themselves lucky. Many have virtually no more income and everyday alive is a dreadful day wondering where the food is coming from. The extremely high cost of living has made staying alive in this island a nightmare waking up for some people of these generations. Poverty has returned to their lives. Offering them piecemeal help is not acceptable and unable to sustain a decent life with a little dignity.

May the good samaritans think of a better way to ease the lives of these generations fell by the wayside of mainstream Singapore. Show some real gratitude to the people that made the new generations of Singaporeans able to make millions so easily and living in posh landed properties and a life of luxury unknown to these pioneering generations. They were the ones that made this possible today, nothing the foreign workers can come near to. The pioneering generations contributed to the whole infrastructure of Singapore to make things happened today. They planted the trees that provide the shades and the fruits for the Singaporeans today, not counting the cash stashed away in the nation's reserves. In those days, not only the majority of the Singaporeans were poor. The state was also poor with an almost empty treasury. The pioneers and merdeka generations and several generations to come became NS men with a miserly $90 allowance when their families needed them to bring home the bacon.

Through thrift and sacrifices, the pioneering generations made the first pot of gold for Singapore, literally. And it was from this pot of gold that more gold were accumulated. There would be no GIC or Temasek with billions and trillions to feed the foreigners and Singaporeans they employed to manage the pot of gold. And to think that many of the senior citizens are struggling to live in this very expensive island with virtually no income is sheer ungratefulness.

Show some kindness and gratitude to the people that really made the difference to your lives today. The foreign workers are just passing by and doing their bits and paid accordingly. What is frightening is their counterparts that are devouring Singapore at the higher end of the food chain and might take over this island built by our pioneering generations as their own and discard the pioneers as unnecessary inconvenience, deadwoods.

Have any of the foreigners that made it good here show any gratitude to the Singaporeans that made it easy and plentiful for them, or instead showing contempt to the Singaporeans? Have they been taking their good life for granted, that they deserved it here more than the Singaporeans that built this place from scratch?

When would the millionaire Singaporeans really think of giving a helping hand to the ones that made it possible for them to make their millions today? Touch their hearts and asked, if the pioneering generations have not made the sacrifice and put in the hard work, made the first pot of gold, what would their lives be today?

American banks are risky and untrustworthy. Never trust your money with USA banks.

The United States has a national debt of more than thirty trillion dollars. America is totally bankrupt and is unable to repay this humongous debt. Each passing day sees the debt increasing by the billions. American political leaders are using diabolical measures to try to avoid paying this debt. They are using sanctions indiscriminately on practiically every other country in the world to collect billions of dollars in  illegal fines or robbery. They can do this because of their control of the international monetary system, the PetroDollar and SWIFT the center for international financial transactions all of which are backed by the US military might of over 1,000 military bases all over the world. The Evil Empire is creating turmoils and wars everywhere to benefit the American Pentagon military industrial complex which can then earn hundreds of billions of dollars in profits by selling military hardware and weapons to the warring parties.

Further the United States is printing trillions of dollars in fiat currency or fiduciary issues which are neither backed by gold nor any resources. In short it is creating money out of thin air and the American dollars are actually less worthy than toilet tissues. However the US has for years been cheating and swindling the whole world by foisting the toilet paper dollar on other countries to buy their actual tangible valuable assets.

At any moment the American dollar and economy will definitely collapse under the heavy load of its monstrous debt. When this happens it will be disastrous for the whole world. Therefore do not put or deposit your money in American banks notably Citi Bank, Bank of America, Chase Manhattan or Wells Fargo or western banks like Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank and Standard Chartered Bank

In the late 1980s and early 1990s when Russia was opening up it allowed American banks to open branches in most Rsssian towns and cities. As the American banks offered slightly higher interest rates all the Russians rushed to open bank accounts with the American banks. They then withdrew all their money from the Russian banks to deposit in the American banks notably Citi Bank. This resulted in the Russian government shortage of funs and created financial havoc in the Russian economy. Citi Bank then proceeded to transfer all the Russian savings to America holding it hostage to Russian debt owed to American companies.

In another case it involved the Greek banks in the mid 1990s when the United States forced Greece to adopt tight financial austerity measures to suit the American control and dictates. As a result of US imposed stringent conditions the Greek government was forced by US dictates to freeze all bank accounts so that all depositors were unable to withdraw their money from the banks or the banks ATMs. The ordinary Greek citizens were held to ransom by atrocious American bankers and government. The Greeks citizens were made to suffer terribly because of American toxic manipulation of Greece finance and economy. Fortunately China's help to Greece in finance and the economy help to alleviate the suffering of the Greeks tremendously.

Therefore Singaporeans and citizens of the world it pays to pay heed to the warning never to deposit money or savings in American or western banks. Always put or save your hard earn money in your own country domicile banks. Never trust the American rogue banksters and robbber barons.

Covid19 - Singapore's great achievement

Singapore has successfully tested all the 350k foreign workers (guesstimate) in the dormitories. Of the 55,104 infected cases, the majority are from the workers in the dormitories. I am unable to figure out how many of the 55,104 are from the dormitories but from the daily statistics of Singaporeans infected that is relatively small, plus those outside the dormitories, my guess, 10 percent of this total or max 20 percent, it would mean total number of foreign workers in the dormitories infected could be from 44,000 to 49,000.

The number of foreign workers in the dormitories is about 350,000. They are either infected and considered cured, or have been exposed and have built up resistance to the virus, ie herd immunity has been achieved among the foreign workers. It is a miracle that with so many of them infected, the community spread among Singaporeans and those outside the dormitories is very small and Singaporeans could still live their lives quite freely other than wearing masses and keeping safe distance from each other.

The big news, not sure it is a good news, is that the 350,000 foreign workers have been given a green light to resume work in the construction industry. What does this mean? Would they be confined to the construction sites only and return to the dormitories after work? Or would they be set free to move and mix with the rest of the Singaporeans? They have the herd immunity but not the rest of the Singaporeans? What kind of risk factor are we talking about if the foreign workers, many asymptomatic, and many ex infected and could still be harbouring the virus, are to let loose on the streets and to fraternalise with their girl friends?

I got the feeling that the govt would not be so adventurous to let them out on the streets and would still keep them in the dormitories for their own good and for the good of the rest of the Singaporeans, locals and visitors here, ie to and fro from dormitories to construction sites and no where else.

To set them free among the Singaporeans and locals and others in the island is expecting another miracle to happen, that the foreign workers would not be transmitting the virus everywhere they go, shopping and playing and socialising. Singaporeans and others living outside the dormitories that have no herd immunity would not be infected by the workers from the dormitories. And there would not be a spike in the number of new cases.

What do you think?
