Covid19 - Are foreign dormitory workers no longer infectious after being cured and cleared of Covid19?

SINGAPORE: Authorities are monitoring migrant worker dormitories to manage the risk of new COVID-19 outbreaks, even after the completion of testing for all these workers.

"There have already been instances where new cases of COVID-19 cases are detected at previously cleared dormitories," said a joint news release on Tuesday (Aug 11) by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), the Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Health Promotion Board (HPB).

"The Interagency Task Force (ITF) is actively monitoring the dormitories to manage the risk of new outbreaks."....

1. At higher risk dormitories, wastewater will be monitored for traces of the coronavirus....

2. In a separate statement later on Tuesday, MOM said that all dormitories have been declared cleared of COVID-19, with the exception of 17 standalone blocks in purpose-built dormitories that are being used as quarantine facilities.

This means that all workers living in dormitories have either recovered or have been tested to be free from the virus, except for 22,500 workers still serving out their quarantine period, said MOM....

3.  "With the completion of dormitory clearance, and BCA giving permission for all construction firms to resume work from Aug 10, the majority of foreign workers (including dormitory residents) are now able to resume work," the labour ministry added.

Above is from CNA. There are several points of concern now that they knew that new cases can still be detected from dormitories that have been cleared of Covid19. And from all sources of information, people who have been infected and cured could be reinfected again and also could be harbouring the virus that can then spread to new contacts while they appeared to be asymptomatic.

Read point 1 above, waste water could have traces of coronavirus.  Where did the waste water go to? Think what Newater is all about.

When they said dormitories are declared clear does it mean that the people in these dormitories would no longer infect others and can be let out?

And the third point, can resume work in the construction site. Would they be allowed to move out from construction sites, to eat or to socialise?

The big question, how safe are the foreign dormitory workers that have been cleared from Covid19 and would they be allowed to mix freely with the rest of the population? And what are they going to prevent the waste water from getting into our drinking system?

Today's news reported there would be a trial period for some of the workers to visit recreation centres, do some errants and buying food. Hope they start these cautiously and monitor them carefully as the risk of reinfection and being asymptomatic carriers is very high. If only 5 or 10% of the foreign dormitory workers are infectious out of 350,000, we are risking for a big surge in infected cases.

Sinking Land another second wave like Auckland NZ and the GDP would be minus not 13.6 but 33.6.

Many businesses would KAPUT and goes under..even wothout further Jobs Subsidies Fund.

Aiya. Just follow like the Arabs in Dubay or Dubai. Deported the whole lots back.

One little infection quarantined another 800.

What's happen affected 800? Will infected how many?

Now they said will allow rest days recreation centres for them.

Don't know what's to say. Faster open up lanes to Matland and seek sanctuary there in my kampong hut.

Much.much safer.

ITF = Idiots Tasked and Forced (to do something they have no ideas what to do except to talk cock)

ITF = Intercourse-agents Tasked to Fuck (all of us up) by adopting the Ostrich mentality and Blind-Leading-Blind approach.

Knowing fully well that those infected and "recovered" can still be re-infected and have very high probability of being silent carriers of the COVID-19 coronavirus, those Idiots are obviously putting the whole country at risk of a Second Wave of Pandemic, at even greater spread and more deadly.

We have seen this happening in many other countries and in the USA already. Happening right in front of our eyes and yet those Idiots, because of wanting to speed up the economic recovery, are throwing all cautions into the air.

How can we ever trust such Idiots, who at the very beginning told all of us in no uncertain terms this:

"DON'T WEAR A MASK IF YOU ARE WELL. WEAR A MASK ONLY IF YOU ARE UNWELL!"

And NOW telling us that they are releasing the 350,000 to 400,000 super-spreaders into our midst!

The right thing to do is to send all those who have been infected and "recovered" back to their own countries of origin. This is what all other countries in the world are doing. Even India has been sending their own people working in one state back into their own state of origin.

Why can't send them back and recruit new ones?

With those Idiots as our leaders, we are now in deep shit!

Better activate Plan B - fuck off from this piece of hard rock to somewhere safe.

What every country is talking about being almost free of infection or about to turn around is just assumptions that have yet to be proven over time. This will be a long lasting condition, a horror story that knows no ending. It would be good if that had been just a feel good fairy tale, but we are dealing with life and death.

Will the success of a vaccine end the torture? Not likely, knowing that the virus is prone to mutate, into what God knows.

And the world is still fighting over who is number one, who will be the next number one, who has the most nuclear arsenal. who will win trade wars, who will come out with the first COVID19 vaccine, who will win WW3 etc. They still may not know that Heaven is going through all the accounts with a fine tooth comb to see who must be punished most severely. If it is not heaven's will, why can't they just stop it?

I think cured is what is apparent on the outside. But inside the body, the lungs are probably compromised having the most impacted organ, and if that is so, what about the brain?

It is still too early to be sure that coming out of the infection means a cure, if the virus is still lying dormant inside the body and liable to spread if conditions are ideal.

SINGAPORE — About 100 COVID-19 cases have been detected in foreign worker dormitories that were given the all-clear, resulting in some 7,000 workers being quarantined, said the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Tuesday (18 August).

These cases – some of whom have resumed work – were detected through routine testing conducted bi-weekly for workers living in dorms as well as those who work in construction/production sites and the construction, marine, and process sectors, said the ministries in the joint statement. 19 Aug CNA
