The subsidies thrown at the Chips Alliance is not doing well in countering China. Silence in recent years hides a faltering agenda that is falling apart. It is a disaster in the making. One day the USA may have to try to sneak chip shipments into China using another country as its source, just like soya beans, if China continues to deny entry to USA made chips.
The tariff war is not doing that well either against those who are sturdy enough to retaliate like China, Canada and Mexico. Now we are seeing who have backbones and who are just pretenders and lap dogs obeying its master and groveling at the feet of Trump hoping for a bone or two to be thrown for them.
How is it logically sensible that even countries with trade deficits with USA, like Singapore, are also targeted. It makes no sense. The penguins and seals will be shaking their heads at the stupidity of the USA, probably having more brains that those inside the White House.

American soybean farmers urged US President Donald Trump in a Tuesday letter to reach a trade deal with China that secures significant soybean purchase agreements, warning of dire long-term economic outcomes if the country continues to shun the US crop.
China, the world’s largest soybean buyer, is turning to Brazilian cargoes amid trade tensions with the US and continuing negotiations. The country has not pre-purchased soybeans from the coming US harvest, an unusual delay that has worried traders and farmers.
“Soybean farmers are under extreme financial stress. Prices continue to drop and at the same time our farmers are paying significantly more for inputs and equipment.
“US soybean farmers cannot survive a prolonged trade dispute with our largest customer,” said the letter sent from the American Soybean Association (ASA) to Trump on Tuesday.
Get the rednecks and hillbillies to switch to a diet of soybeans, which is high in protein and packed with vitamins and minerals.
Clown Trump's trade strategy is to sell to China all the garbage and inferior chips that China did not want, and ban selling of high end chips and products that China want to balance the trade deficit.
And if China refuses to buy, use force and threats like time is running out, more bans, more sanctions, there will be consequences, to frighten Xi.
Then Xi will be shivering in his pants and starts buying all the shit that the Americans want to get rid of.
Nvidia is reported to be making another better chip, just for the China market. telling who I wonder. In other words, Nvidia is trying to short-change China earlier, with the outdated H20 chip, complete with the attachment of a backdoor, thinking that the Chinese are unaware. But China was probably just playing the game, by waiting for Nvidia to manufacture the H20 chips at huge cost, before telling Nvidia what the problem was, which lead China to refuse to accept them.
If the Chinese say there is a backdoor, proof is not necessary, same as the USA and the West accusing Huawei of being a National Security risk for them. Yes, China is copying the West in its action, just like saying China copied the West making EVs with wheels, planes with wings, ships with propellers, and how about the Chinese copying them in eating, drinking, working and sleeping. Remember that China has existed for five thousand long years and is not for upstarts to dictate what China can or cannot do.
USA started the chips war, creating a global alliance to include Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and the EU, thinking it could cripple China's development. That is going to backfire very badly for those now building facilities in Arizona. China has poured huge subsidies into attempting to be self-dependent in higher end chips and is succeeding faster than anticipated. As they say, never underestimate China and never play around with China.
The Chinese are serious competitors and will eat the breakfast, lunch and dinner of those who looked down on China. Just look at sectors that China is dominating now - renewable energy generation with nuclear power stations, dams, solar and wind energy harvesting energy big time. China has conquered EVs, drone technology, shipbuilding and now going for the aviation and semiconductor sectors.
That is not going to happen. Trump has no more cards to play. China is already locked in on soya bean supplies from Brazil, a member of BRICS and is not going to return to buy USA soya beans for National Security reasons.
USA soya bean farmers will just have to live or die without the Chinese soya bean market. After all they were the ones that supported Trump big time to screw them upside down.

Behaving like that how to reduce the deficit? The USA wants China to buy all the obsolete stuff, process its plastic waste like in the past, pollute the air for the USA to demonize, while the USA enjoys the American Dream unlimited. Fat hope that this is going to continue.
