Trump is about to go down on his knees to beg Xi to invite him to Beijing. The Americans have been sending all kinds of signals to Beijing to invite Trump, to meet up with Trump. Like in the above quotes, the Americans are selling the idea that it is good to invite scoundrel Trump to meet Xi in Beijing. However, at the same time, rogue Trump continues to attack Beijing with all kinds of sanctions, threats and bans, and with his warmongering clowns in Washington sending out signals that they are preparing to attack China, building up and deploying more weapons around China, conducting war games and provocations against China.
Why would Xi want to invite a hostile and untrustworthy rogue like Trump to Beijing? His presence in Beijing would send a stench in the Great Hall of the People, and the parade square in Tiananmen. Trump's presence would be a distasteful distraction and would tarnish the atmosphere of the Victory Parade. It would be like the Jews inviting Hitler to Tel Aviv. No one would want to see Trump in Beijing, in the company of Xi, after all the offensive things he had done to China. Though Beijing did not say it openly, Trump is enemy number one in China. How could China invite someone that is so hostile to China to a party? No respectful world leaders would like to be seen in the company of this convicted felon. He really smells.
Trump's presence in China would be the most offensive signal that China is appeasing Trump and willing to be kicked around and bullied by the Americans and still kissing the ass of Trump. The best sign of what is happening is China's total silence on this meeting while Trump has been screaming day in and day out, I want to meet Xi, my best friend. Has Xi ever called this rogue his friend, let alone his best friend?
Xi must never, never meet a scoundrel that does not respect protocol, that is lawless, unpredictable and disgraceful. Trump's right place is in the dungeon of Alcatraz and be forgotten.

Trump needs a photo op with Xi to boost his collapsing popularity and ego. Xi must not give him this chance.

Just an exercise in futility even if they do meet. The mindset of going all out against China is all cast in stone in the USA playbook, whether be it under the Republicans or Democrats. It is inside the DNA of the Anglo-Saxo Whites to keep the Whites as the superior race over all others. And keeping the US$ and USA hegemonic reign is all that matters. And China is the one country left that is capable of overturning all that.
The USA can never tolerate any country rising to compete against it. Not the Japanese. Not the Germans. Not the Soviet Union. And certainly not the Chinese. Can we expect the leopard to change its spots to become another animal?
Taking down Japan and Germany were easy, as they do not have the critical mass of a market and population to carry on a battle against the mighty USA. Denial of the USA market was alone enough to snuff them out and they had to eat humble pie when stepped upon. The Soviet Union did not have the economic muscle to sustain a headlong military capacity to take on the USA. Moreover, Soviet Union was not on very good terms with China at that time. The Soviet Union had to close shop, with its satellite states breaking up to go their separate ways, leaving the Russian Federation to run the country.
Now, China is no piece of cake that the USA can take at will. China has the economic muscle, the military capacity, the population critical mass, the massive domestic market, the hunger of the people to move forward for a better life and the Chinese citizen's capacity for hard work to overcome difficult circumstances for a better future. This all work well to fulfil the dreams of Chinese leaders to move the country forward, all working in tandem.
China must never be in a position to sacrifice what it has achieved by being involved in any too good to be true agreement that may come back to destroy its future. The USA and the West are discreetly trying to set China up for dismantling like the Soviet Union. They have tried that in Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Tibet.
Frankly please lah the UAss only involved and fight Japan only when they are been attacked by the Japs.
