Anwar has a mountain to climb. The most important and most obvious task is getting rid of corruption, which is a deep-seated and deeply ingrained UMNO mindset, which unfortunately is the main coalition in Anwar's Government. Anwar cannot do without UMNO support in his government, and neither can he get rid of UMNO, which is leveraging on his coattails to wrestle back power eventually.
The other hindrance for progress in Malaysia is the racial political environment that is preventing the country from moving forward. Real talents are not returning to Malaysia under the stifling racial politics and its lop-sided favoritism format. In fact, talents are moving out instead of returning. Getting rid of the crutch mentality of the majority race is impossible now after decades of having the roots sunk into the mindsets of those benefiting from it. Who wants to give up rights that they can enjoy for generations?
These are just two of the problems that Anwar will not be able to overcome, Agong support or not.

Good morning All
Takes time.
As what's I said earlier now Anwar had the backing of the Agong and their Malay Race and Politicians had their highest regards for their King who is the ONE that approved who shall be the Ruling Government.
So now with the Agong as the Mountain behind him, must strike whilst the Iron is HOT as time is running out if the Agony Term of Reign is over and been replaced by another Sultan.
So Anwar should now tabled in the Parliament to change the Rule of must have 120 seat minimum to form the Ruling Government.
It's been fair to everyone who can won the majority of the seats and first to fly past the post.
With that, if PKR in the near GE can won the majority seats that no need to form what's nonsense bickering and horses trading coalition government.
Then able to implement and reform the policies.
Like Xi then started the GRIP and even turned the knives inward to rid of all these corrupted parasites.
From there. Real REFORMSI.
Cheers
Mahathir defanged the power of the Sultans, and the Agong as well during his rule. Agongs are selected among the Sultans by turn. Mahathir did that at the peak of his power, with no one able to over-ride him. The Malays were eating out of his hands then, with his New Economic Policy giving the Malays unfettered benefits. UMNO was the de-factor kingmaker then and no other political party had any influence over Malaysian political decisions.
In those wild days, there was even a high ranking UMNO politician that threatened those trying to mitigate the benefits given to the Malays, even drawing out a keris in Parliament to threaten those opponents that voiced opposition with the keris drawing blood if they do so. Imagine bringing a keris into Parliament for threatening others.
Today, Anwar is not in the league of absolute power as Mahathir had when he stripped the power of the Sultans. Anwar hardly has such unhindered support as Mahathir among the Malays, with PAS and Mahathir now doing the chipping away of his false sense of power. Moreover, with UMNO in his coalition, he is powerless even to deal with corruption without undermining his own Government.
So, do not read too much into Anwar's attempt to bring the Agong to his side to enhance his power base and do anything substantial.
Anwar still has UMNO DNA in him.
He rode on the support of him being a reformer but that is just for show. He will turn out to be one of the worst pm. He has no control over his cabinet. Racial and religious problems are at its peak.
Yes it's true but in any disputes and mediation they still have to refer to the Agong.
HE the one who called the shot and made the decision who's the PM etc!
Tye Malay Community had deep reverence to their Majesty.
Anything the Agong decreed they supported whole heartily.
The Sultan or Johore once said "We the RULERS of this Malay Archipelago are Forever whilst you In the Government are just temporary "
Mahahtir at the time conned and relieved a weak Agong.
Now the present crop of Agongs the new generation like the S.A. MBS are different.
Just to add Anwar should now tried to gain the supports fully of the East Malaysian Politicians who are actually the KingMakers.
They are so fed up with their West Malaysian Colleagues who gained all their benefits and they are been down sized to be Second Class States Politicians.
Have their supports to have them as their same levels and powers definitely can win more than that minimum 120 or 129 seats to form the Majority Ruling Government.
Cheers
The Agong is not the one choosing the PM. He is just giving his assent to go ahead. More like going through the motion. I think he does not have the power to deny the appointment of the PM if there is enough support from the parties or coalition forming the Government. I stand to be corrected.
Anwar's days in the wilderness was Mahathir's doing. Even his black eye, sodomy accusations were the subject of speculation. Money talks and UMNO talks money politics. Witnesses can be bought. Just look at the case of the Mongolian lady's case. Najib denied knowing her, but there were pictures showing him having dinner with her. People can be bought to take the blame from those in power. Remember when they shouted 'Malaysia Boleh'. That is not an empty boast.
So the only way ahead is to win upright and no need coalition government.
No need to refer to Agong with their messy Coalition.
Many a times, the East Malaysian States signalled cessations from the Federation.
How many times they really honoured them to hold their Malaysia Day in their States?
In my memory only Once when they really needed them for frogs jumping.
Also in the past, the West Malaysia celebrated Malaysia Day on the 31st of August which is actually Merdeka Day NOT Malaysia Day.
Still thinking of Merdeka ah?
Merdeka long ago! Now Malayisa!
Malaysia Day falls on the 16th of September and is actually LKY and ahem also my BirdDay.
Now they have made a Public Holiday on 16th September as Malaysia Day.
Too bad I cannot up to Genting for my Birthday rewards as too packed and also gian png no free hotels stays.
Cheers
