A local entrepreneur named Rudy Irawan Kadjairi took to Facebook on Monday (14 September) to highlight that Singaporeans, who have over the years discriminated minorities in the labour market, are now voicing their displeasure towards foreign talents in the country....
As such, Mr Rudy asserted that there will always be Singaporeans who are not affected by the “indiscriminate insertion of foreign manpower”, and these individuals will keep “drowning the voices of those aggrieved.
“At the end of the day, the ones lamenting are still, for now, the minority, in numbers. Stop it with the xenophobia. If you want to be upset, don’t be upset at the foreigners who are here to earn a living. They are our guests. If you want to be upset, get upset with the policies.
“Work at changing the policies for the better. But don’t be as discriminatory as the way discrimination has put many of us in harm’s way. Rationalise more strategically. Reason better. Articulate your thoughts in a manner that will convince, not rile,” Mr Rudy expressed.
“We’ve been through this “scenario” before. As an experienced individual in this matter, all I can say is, “suck it up, dudes”. Work harder. As I have had to all my life.”
The above is from an article posted in the TOC about how a 'local' arrogantly dismissing the grievances of Singaporeans now affected by the discrimination against them from foreigners in Singapore. Unbelieveable for a foreigner to talk like this to daft Singaporeans thinking that this sorry state of affair, where foreigners are now the darling of a silly govt that faun on them at the expense of Singaporeans would continue unabated, unchanged. When the breaking point is reached, not only xenophobia will fall through the roof, even the silly govt would be booted out and replaced by a new govt that is pro Singaporean and not pro foreigners. And when that day comes, there would be no mentioning of this four letter word 'locals' and foreigners would be treated as foreigners no matter if they are PRs.
The temperature is rising as more Singaporeans start to feel the pain. How could daft Singapore afford to live for another 20 or 30 years without a job in this extremely expensive city on their miserly savings? Losing their jobs in the 50s and 60s is going to be hell of a problem, an existential threat to their well being. They could bear with it for a few years, but when they get older, their little savings in their CPF got depleted, when having 3 meals is going to be a struggle, hell will break lose.
The 'local' foreigners would face the brunt of the unhappiness of a people unable to put food on the table for sure, and xenophobia in its real sense, not the so called casual xenophobia of now, would surface to destabilise the society and the relationship between Singaporeans and foreigners. When things become unbearable, there would be ugly incidents on the streets and in public transports against foreigners when Singaporeans no longer can bear their presence, stealing their lunch.
Such 'local' foreigners would then not be in a position to write such acidic and cocky comments about Singaporeans as if they are the upper class in this island when Singaporeans stood up to tell them to get lost. 'Local' foreigners must not take the generosity and stupidity of daft Singaporeans for granted, as if it would last forever. When the straw breaks the camel's back, the leaders would be forced to protect themselves and their million dollar salaries and would have to tell the 'local' foreigners that this place is called Singapore and for Singaporeans and would have to do the necessary and not paying lip service like today.
Then it would be good riddance to foreigners, 'locals' or otherwise. The Covid19 crisis and rising unemployment are a preview of what's worse to come if jobs do not come by and more and more Singaporeans became unemployed. Then no silly leaders would dare to utter the word foreign talent or 'locals' in passing and with immunity. Singaporeans voted them into govt to serve Singaporeans not to serve foreigners, PRs are foreigners. Period.

Just let these 'free loaders' or 'free riders' from afar coming here to 'make a living', at the expense of true blue locals, think that only a minority of unhappy locals are voicing their displeasure and the Government taking that as the norm.
How did the PAP lose Sengkang? Because they think only a minority of locals voicing their anger are just noises. Keep pretending there is no problem and see what happens by the next election.
Singapore's present COVID19 problems mostly stem from the foreign workers, who brought upon us this unending misery, because the Government did not take note of the seriousness of the spread, noticeably starting from Mustafa Center, where all these foreign workers flocked to on rest days.
Of course what I am saying is based on hindsight, and my take cannot compare to those of the talents we have, who should have seen the problem much earlier. Now the problem with the dorms are still not over, with infections still found even though they have been cleared.
Should the local unhappy minorities blame the foreign workers? More minority voices (unhappy locals) will join the unhappy crowd when more businesses close doors and jobs are lost. You can bet on it!

Fair Is Foul, Foul Is Fair?
District Judge Olivia Low who had found the foreign domestic worker, Parti Liyani guilty of 4 charges of theft and sentenced to 2 years and 2 months (26 months) jail, has been promoted to Deputy Senior State Counsel in the Civil Division of the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC)
She delivered the blow (sentence) on 25 March 2019 and was promoted for a job well-done, six days after her harden work, on 1 April Fools' Day.
Is this consistent with the practice in our legal system for the past 50 year?
I wonder what will happen to our Honourable High Court Judge who acquitted Parti Liyani of all the 4 charges?
Would he be demoted or told to go for early retirement like Liew Mun Leong?
Has justice been served? I don't know, really. I do think it's still a very long journey to see true permanent light at the end of the tunnel. Not just a flash of lightning.
Fair can sometimes turn foul and foul can always turn fair. It depends on where you are from, what you do, and who you know. The last one is the most important.
Nevertheless, I still hope that Justice will prevail, no matter how long it takes.

The article, writer by his name is likely a naturalised citizen if not a foreigner and by that I mean including a PR. He's it got all wrong to say we've been discriminating the minorities for ages. No doubt some racial discrimination exist here as in all other places, would he like to compare them to Indonesia or Malaysia ?
Also I see why some employers here may be hesitant to have more minorities in their employ. Qualificatiion may be the main reason. But one of reasons is that some minorities have a tendency to seek medical or urgent leave more often than not. In my previous company, there used to be minorities, often one replacing another who quited or being dismissed.
Until the management decided to hire a foreign PR to bring some stability to the position.
And she ended up being permanent 5 years to this day.
So many minorities just shout discrimination when they lose out from a position to other better candidates. I am not saying all minorities are like that as I do see some very hardworking people among them but all companies frown on regular absentees.
From experience I have a great dislike for the Indian PMET expats working in the ships handling agents and there are many in the European agencies here . They are bossy, demanding and sneaky but since they are customers, we did try to satisfy them unless they infringe the law. Now I know why the local unemployed PMETs are so pissed about the state of affairs here. These expats not only replace the citizen workforce but bossing around citizens too.
So this writer , an expat or not has no understanding of the situation and just shout "discrimation" when he is unable to compete or lost out in life to a better person.
Foreigners which include new citizens and PRs, having been adopted by the self-proclaimed natural aristocrats, have adopted these aristocrats' attitude and behaviour. They feel entitled and scold and belittle the real locals here. They think we are lesser mortals who owe them a living. Whether in jobs or business, we need to support our own locals instead of opportunists.
Parti Liyan’s case is not the only time District Judge Olivia Low has been found by High Court judge to have disregarded evidence where FDWs are concerned.
Many Singaporeans have criticised the lower courts for the seemingly flawed judgement that District Judge Olivia Low delivered against Parti Liyani.
In another case, where an FDW, Moe Moe Than (Than) was abused by husband and wife Tay Wee Kiat (Tay) and Chia Yun-Ling (Chia), District Judge Olivia Low also had her judgement reversed.
DJ Olivia Low had acquitted Chia for not paying Than’s salary, but High Court Justice Hoo Sheau Peng reversed this acquittal and sentenced Chia to three months jail for this charge. In addition, Justice Hoo also handed down another six more months to Tay for abusing Than.
The High Court Judge was of the opinion that DJ Olivia Low “did not evaluate the evidence or make any clear findings of Chia’s version of events”. While Chia had claimed that she had paid Than the salary she was owed in full, Justice Hoo (of the High Court) had not found this version of events believable as Chia had changed her position about the date she had paid the salary, and her reasons for the backdating were “contrived” and “illogical”.
Given that this couple had also ill treated another FDW, Indonesian national Fitriyah, whose employment overlapped with Than’s, Low’s leniency does seem odd. Looking at this case, and that of Parti Liyani’s, does Low have a pattern of taking what employers say at face value without any probing? Was there an unconscious bias on her part to assume that employers tell the truth over FDWs?
Since mistakes where FDWs are concerned are not isolated incidents for the former District Judge, a thorough and serious investigation should be held to examine her other cases to see whether there was any mistrial and error in judgement.
Why Liew Mun Leong and his son and daughter and daughter-in-law are still not charged for giving cooked up evidence to the Ploce, prosecutors, mom, AGC and District Court?

What can we say when Olivia Low made all those flawed judgements, yet was promoted as claimed?
Something is not quite right. Maybe this may be a good time to dig out all the skeletons from the cupboard, But then invisible hands may still be pulling the strings, so I just say 'may'.
If they dare to opely admit that they fixed the opposition, that they buy voters' votes, that they are out-standing, that they deserve $millionaire salary, that they are nautural aristocats, that they are the only ones to rule Singapore, that they need to convert foreigners to citizens increase population, etc., then what else would they not do to stay in power forever?
Joining the chorus of criticism against the authorities after ex-domestic helper Parti Liyani was acquitted in a high-profile theft case, medical doctor Siew Tuck Wah asserted that – until further action is taken – the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has failed Ms Parti and “utterly disgraced Singapore in the eyes of the world.”
The Indonesian government and Indonesian people are watching. Don't drag your feet.
Why need further investigations?
The High Court has already pointed out all the faults, errors, short-comings, failure to follow standard procedures, negligence and fabrication of evidence, and outright lying to the magistrate court, the high court, the prosecutors and the police investigators by the Liews.
Trying to delay taking the necessary actions which are so obviously and clearly presented by the Supreme Court.
Which in essence means our justice system has disgraced Singapore in the eyes of the world.
MOM has played no part in the prosecution and sentencing, unless of course they knew and did not proceed with the prosecution of Liew and his son for breaking the law by asking the maid to clean two places. In any case, that will still be left to the jurisdiction of the court and not MOM.
Maybe, the courts cannot be blamed and the law must be respected as pronounced by the Sham.
As far as this present govt goes, the policy of inviting " foreign talents " to Singapore would continue. The pain felt by true blue Singaporeans will continue. There are many true blue Singaporeans that are not affected yet. The way I see it, the current policy of inviting " foreign talents " into Singapore will continue forever. These grateful guests, some will become citizens, will increase the PAP voter pool. The straw that will break the camel's back will never arrive. I am sorry to say this, but the day will never come when true Singaporeans will be able to reclaim the country.

New citizens and the PRs, both groups come from a "single nationalities", will take over Singapore, for sure. Its is too late.
Every year, about 20,000 black butterfly cocoons (conservatively speaking) are transformed/converted into butterflies. Almost every day for close to six months, the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) undergraduate would go on the prowl.
Shaun Ho Yan Liang would seek out women in shorts and skirts and walk near them to discreetly record an upskirt or under-shirt video using his phone.
Yesterday, the 26-year-old admitted to taking 469 such videos of 335 different victims over a period of 171 days.
He was convicted on two charges of insulting the modesty of a woman and one charge under the Films Act. Another charge under the Films Act was taken into consideration.
Ho, who was a final-year psychology student at NTU at the time, took the videos from Feb 2, 2018, at numerous locations including Eastpoint Mall, a lab in the National Institute of Education's School of Science, and the student activity centre and overhead bridge at the North Spine of NTU.

Let’s take the case of the National Kidney Foundation scandal which rocked the nation in 2005. It emerged that NKF chief TT Durai earned S$25,000 a month, received annual bonuses that amounted to $1.8 million between 2002 and 2004, used NKF funds to maintain his personal car and travelled on first-class flights.
Madam Halimah was then a People’s Action Party backbencher and a union leader. She said that she felt “under siege” after the revelations of NKF’s lavish spending: “At every union meeting I attended, I was besieged with a deluge of questions. There were many angry words, frustrations and above all, a sense of betrayal.”
Madam Halimah also called out the lack of accountability: “There was a total failure of checks and balances and all those who were supposed to supervise and act as guardians of the public interest failed in their task. The public was completely misled and their trust was abused.”
The Parti Liyani–Liew Mun Leong case has laid siege to trust and confidence in the system and exposed a breakdown in checks and balances.
The very things that Madam Halimah used to rail against, she is now keeping mum about.
It seems that to some political offices, the higher one goes, the more silent you become and by the time you reach the pinnacle, quietness and total silence are the golden values of one's life.

An application for the extension of the JM Order by a further six months (an earlier order granted the extension of the JM Order for a further 180 days from 3 March 2020) to consider taking Dr Goh Jin Hian, who was a director at IPP from 28 June 2011 to 20 August 2019, to court.
The JMs from Deloitte & Touche LLP are also considering if IPP should be placed in liquidation before any action against Dr Goh, and leave prosecution of Dr Goh to be handled by the prospective liquidators.
An extension of the JM Order by the court will allow the JMs more time to consider the above two options.
The JMs said they had been looking into IPP’s books and records and investigating its affairs since the Company was placed under judicial management.
“It was following such investigations that the JMs, in consultation with their solicitors, verily believe that the Company has a viable claim against one of its former directors (specifically, one Dr Goh Jin Hian (“Dr Goh”)) for breaches of his director’s duties to act with skill, care and diligence which he owned to the Company,” stated the document.
“Two of the Company’s largest creditors, Malayan Banking Berhad (“Maybank”) and Societe Generale, Singapore Branch (“SocGen”) have come forth to the JMs indicating an intention to fund the prospective legal action against Dr Goh in respect of this breaches of duties.”
