Asian Games and the takeaways

The 2018 Asian Games are progressing well in Jakarta and Palembang. Everything is going as fine as if they were to be held here or in any other Asian countries. The Games have been going on for years and organizing it is more or less using a carbon copy of the processes of the previous Games. No need to reinvent the wheel.

There are a few takeaways from the Games so far. First is the appearance of North Korea, a country suffering from abject poverty if one is silly enough to believe the western media, and the medals they are winning. At this point of writing, 28 Aug, they have already won 12 gold medals, far ahead of rich and prosperous Singapore and even all the Asean countries except Indonesia that have 1 more gold. How could they produce so many sports champions when they did not have enough to eat, no proper training facilities, definitely cannot afford to hire super talented and expensive foreign coaches. If you are to believe in the western narrative, the North Koreans would be training with antique equipments and with half full stomachs. Their total medal tally is 12 golds, 6 silver and 7 bronzes, ahead of Thailand, Taiwan, India and of course Singapore with 3 golds, 4 silvers and 10 bronzes. And this is not counting their medals in the combined Korea team.

As the top medal winner nations are the richer Asian nations, it is foolish to say that North Korea is an exception, that it is very poor and still did better than the supposedly rich Asian nations. Sports competition today is a very expensive hobby that only the rich and able could afford. It is no longer simply about brawn and raw power but about training, systems, nutrition, equipment, medication and plenty of money for travelling, competition and coaches.

The other nation that stood out in the Games is Kazakhstan. This is a newly rich country, thanks to the wealth brought along by becoming a new transportation hub in the New Silk Road. The wealth of this landlocked country, once written off for good for many centuries, its natural resources untapped due to poor transportation network, is now a prosperous central Asian country. They sent in a huge contingent of 440 athletes, something they could not afford before and never dreamt of. Nevermind if they were not medal winners, they could afford to travel all the way from central Asia to Jakarta/Palembang to have a bit of fun and competition, to tell the world that they are around.

The other notable country is Bahrain. This Middle Eastern oil rich country is splurging its money on acquiring the best sports men and women from Africa. And their acquisitions are almost all winners and record breakers. This is how to use money cleverly. They have a lot of OPM to splurge and splurge they did, to buy winners. Singapore can learn a lot from them and turn our 3 miserable gold medals to a dozen at least. Money, especially OPM, if used cleverly, can achieve a lot of fame and glory, never mind if they are worthy of it or not. Compare to the OPM spent on footballs and table tennis, I think the Bahrainians are wiser or at least smarter in how they spent OPM.

Singapore can have a lot of sports heroes from Africa and a lot to cheer about if we go the Bahrainian way. There is still hope to hitch a ride on the New Chinese Silk Road, if we have not messed it up for good, and be as prosperous as the Kazakhstan. Our wealth cannot last if we are replaced as a commercial and transportation hub by our stupidity, arrogance and poor strategic thinking.

How many are still out there laughing at the ‘poor’ North Koreans, deceived and deluded by the western media? Without all the American sanctions and economic isolation pressure, North Korea would be as rich as South Korea. There are the same people, with the same DNA and intellect.

Kazakhstan beat Singapore in the 4 x 100 Medley Swimming Finals with a Bronze.

Before that, non stop Broadcast of Singapore chances of another Medal and how excellent and exsy they are are.

Their Medals due to other swimmers fatigue in winning several medals before ours flash in the pans.

North Korea is superior to their Southern Kins not having decadence Western Style of Living.

Still culturally Asians. What's Boyz Bands that Haninese said Devils don't look like Devils and Humans don't look like Humans.

The Koreans are dafter than Sinkies to have Others divide them and ruled their destinies.

They have been coerced by the Americans to stay divided. Moon is playing his card cautiously to reunite the two Koreas. He has to be very careful or he could be assassinated by the Americans to push this too fast and too far.

The Americans would be the first to pounce on the South Koreans for wanting to reunite with the North. It means that there would be no reason for the American bases in the Korean Peninsula anymore.

The South Koreans knew who is the devil and is playing safe, slow and steady to reunification.

Our soft boys are sent to Iraq to support UN aka USA. More n more of this sad show will be coming. Why are we not Non-aligned but chosing the Atlantic white superpower n punching above our weight antagonizing our neighbours n fellow races? Goondu has no cure.

Singapore intentionally built a Naval Base large enough to accommodate US Warship, serving as one of the US Military Bases to encircle China and threatens the trade routes of many regional countries.

Yes, we are well prepared and ready to fight for the American white supremacist masters. I really don't know why for years our air force jet fighters have been practising their flights and drills over Singapore sky every morning and afternoon between the hours of 9am to 12.30pm and between 3pm to 5.30pm though we are at peace with all ASEAN countries. These overhead flights which caused thunderous deafening noise pose a danger to Singaporeans not only it may cause deafness to some people but also should there be an accidental mishap there is no telling how many Singaporeans would die and how many buildings would be destroyed. I say it is not worth to carry the balls of the demonic White American warmongers. Wherever the white American warmongers go there goes instability, choas, wars and finally colonisation by them.

Peace with dignity and self-respect and Anti-White American warmonngers. SG

Singaporeans are mostly Asians and Eurasian. But Singapore leaders, especially the greedy fat cats, are no more Asians. They have been Americanized and Anglicanised. By just listening to the way they talk, the way they behave, the way they think and the way they treat their fellow citizens, you can know that they have already been transformed like the Transformers Decepticons.

1.26 pm anon, you are very funny and I like your post but do be careful in your posting.

Sg leaders are not at all americanised or anglicanised otherwise we will live in proper houses and have cars. Unfortunately, they are worse than commie chinese. They are imperialised chinese and like to house people in tiny flats, exactly like those in hakka village.

The Leeders of Sinkingland are Hakka descendents. The common traits of Hakka tribe well known in Sinkingland are:

1. Miserliness.
2. Nepotistically inclined.
3. Racist.
4. In-breeding.
5. Eldest calls the shot.
6. Suppression and oppression.

Correct me, if you think I am not correct.

Australia-China Relations

Scott Morrison became the 30th Australian Prime Minister, after Malcom Turnbull resigned last week. His new Cabinet included Marise Payne as the New Foreign Minister.

Marise Wayne immediately told Australian media that she wished to meet Chinese officials during a United Nations meeting next month.

Payne's gesture showed that Australia's new cabinet has noticed the importance of ties with China, which were on a downward trajectory during the previous administration.

Economic and trade relations are the cornerstone of China-Australia ties, which have benefited the Australians tremendously.

Australia was able to survive the 2008 global financial crisis and saw no economic recession for over two decades because of its economic and financial cooperation with China.

Chinese overseas students form the largest group of foreign students in Australia. They bring to the country over A$10 billion dollars (US$7.34 billion) every year.

More than one million Chinese tourists travel to Australia every year, contributing another A$10 billion Australian to the country's economy.

There is still potential and space for win-win cooperation between China and Australia. Both sides ought to further boost economic and trade exchanges and promote regional economic integration.

Singapore's relationship with China would have improved If the Foreign Minister has been changed?

Australia needs to prove its sincerity by reversing the ban on Huawei and ZTE from participating in the 5G mobile biz. If not, they could only hope to me Chinese officials on the sidelines of other international events. Permanently banned from visiting China and downgrading of trade and economic exchanges.

Yes, Australia needs to prove by deeds, not words, of their sincerity to cooperate with China on equal footing.

But I think it is very difficult for China to accept Australia's "change of heart" so easily. The fact that Australia has change its leadership does not mean they have gone through brain-transplants and blood-transfusions. Strategically and militarily, Australia is still aligned very closely with the USA. In fact, it has become more and more like a stooge of USA, ever ready to echo whatever came out of Washington DC.

Huawei and ZTE are not the only issues. There are also other serious issues regarding trade, racism, security and intelligence.

On sports-side, our LHL & HC are also consistent in buy-high, sell-low. This include of buying FT sportsmen n women at high prices of above market. Even if they move to the African market they will pay above market. Big money comes to them way too easy in Singland.

Geo-politics & trade-front most likely it will shape into US, Western Europe Anglo-Saxon, Australia, Japan, Mexico will be one group.
While Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Africa, South America, Central Asia the other group.
Serious trouble may come to Asia as US stir shits.

Large-Scale Russia-China-Mongolia Joint Military Exercise

Russia plans to hold massive war games involving 300,000 personnel next month - its biggest military manoeuvres since a Cold War drill in 1981.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the drills were justified given "aggressive and unfriendly" attitudes towards his country.

Units from China and Mongolia will also take part in the exercises in Central and Eastern Russia.

The manoeuvres come at a time of rising tension between Nato and Russia.

Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said 36,000 tanks, armoured personnel carriers and armoured infantry vehicles would take part in Vostok-2018, from 11 to 15 September, along with more than 1,000 aircraft.

All of Russia's Airborne units and two of its Naval Fleets will also take part in the drills across Siberia and the Russian Far East.

Mr Shoigu compared the Vostok-2018 exercises to Soviet manoeuvres in 1981, which involved a pretend attack on Nato. He said: "In some ways they will repeat aspects of Zapad-81, but in other ways the scale will be bigger."

Mr Peskov said the involvement of Chinese units showed Russia and Beijing were co-operating in all areas.

China's Defence Ministry put out a fairly dry statement talking of deepening military co-operation and "enhancing both sides' capabilities to jointly respond to various security threats".

But it did say the exercises would "not target any third party".

The ministry also confirmed the extent of the Chinese involvement - "3,200 troops, more than 900 pieces of military hardware as well as 30 fixed-wing aircrafts and helicopters" - and confirmed the location - the Tsugol training range in Russia's Trans-Baikal region. Some of the forces have already arrived.

Details of the Mongolian involvement are unclear.

As a Hakka I took exception of what u posted. You just have a stereotype in your tiny bird brain that can not think straight. If u speak close to your right ear, the sound will come out of the left as there is very little in your head between the two ears. Though generally I don't like to follow what some anions used to post that is your really need to be sodomized to refrain to being a bigot

@ 12:54 am,

Don't get so exceptional until you revealed your own negative traits through your own writing..

Read this long in-depth detailed article about the Hakka: It is very well researched. It covers the excellent traits as well as the negatives, according to how others perceived the Hakka people.

Home United got walloped 9-1 by North Korea in the AFC Cup. The aggregate score for two games was 11-1. Is this the standard of Singapore football?
