A strange phenomenon in paradise

Singaporeans are increasingly looking to moving out of paradise for one reason or another. On the other hand foreigners are rushing in to fill up the places vacated by them. This musical chair is also evident in many areas, with foreigners taking over the places of Singaporeans. We have jobs, from the low skilled jobs that Singaporeans did not want to the middle level jobs where foreigners are cheaper and to the top end CEOs when foreigners are deemed smarter or more experienced or more qualified. Then what is left for Singaporeans? We built high end homes to sell to rich foreigners and Singaporeans downgrade and look for cheaper homes elsewhere. From the city to new towns and then to neighbouring countries. We built world class hospitals to service foreigners and encouraged price conscious Singaporeans to go JB and other parts of Malaysia for cheaper treatments. We built schools and universities with Singaporeans complaining that they are increasingly being squeezed out by foreigners for places. We built golf courses that rich foreigners could play and Singaporeans ended playing in Malaysia or nearby Indonesian islands. And the latest, we built casinos and foreigners can go in for free while Singaporeans have to pay or go to Genting Highland for free. And Singaporeans were given the message that if they don’t buck up, they will be replaced by foreigners. Housing agents, insurance agents, foreign student agents, in fact all agencies, Singaporeans are fighting tooth and nail with foreigners for a piece of the action. Is there anything that is exclusive for Singaporeans? Yes, National Service.

Hi:

this is wat globalization is all about. You are free to seek your pastures and the aliens are free to offer and buy you over. Ah, and this is democracy too.

When sinners go shopping at Johore, Johoreans paid more than other Malaysians at outlying areas. But, the shopkeepers in Johore do make more.

The Iskander Area Properties will be lot more cheaper if they are only for Malaysians, however, there are not enough Malaysian Entrepreneurs to take them up.

Me still maintain that Sinners must have the adventurous spirits of our forefathers who came here empty handed. Today Sinners have no gut to leave SIN, because liked birds reared in cages, they do not know how to survive on their own; sad but it is a fact. Blame the bird owners or blame the birds? Give yourselves the answer; me would simply put it to fate.

Frankly, it is still not too bad yet as the worst is yet to come though it will arrive sooner than most anticipate. Singaporeans were too pampered by their elders in the past three, four decades. Those elders in that period were mostly not educated and they were manipulated, exploited and used by some unconscienced nimcompoops to fulfill their ambitions of power, wealth and fame. Me does think that fame or infamy, modern man has no time for Hitlers, Gates or Lees. Look not for reputation in the modern world of non virtue consciousness.

Do Sinners have a nation ? Lee Kuan Yew had given the Answer, me need not elaborate. Born six decades ago and a natural citizen since then, me has never a moment feel that this tiny dot is my homeland that it is the place of my abode. There is nothing to bind me to it except my family, friends and local cuizines.

There were/are no leaders that me respects or even adores. All of them behave like commanders with expressions that tell you 'do what i say, it's an order'. Shall i say Sinners are always like National Service Recruits that have to obey orders from Private(Rank) and all the way up, maybe we are slightly better than caged birds, that's all.

Live your live friends, seek your happiness instead of lamenting the hopeless situation. Me says, learn from our forefathers and the foreigners that invaded our homes. Do your best to find better places with your available funds which are lot more than your predeccessors and live in places that are slower in pace and less materialistic and artificial.

Go before You get more hurt and bitter; rest assure You will be put into smaller cages should You choose to remain in SIN.

I wanted to open my mouth to say something intelligible but you and Anon. 937 beat me to it.

Guess I better go to the JB golf course to relax. The local ones are overcrowded with foreign talents!

Dear Wally Sir;

me feels honoured to have you sharing the sentiment. Nevertheless, me still looks eagerly for your comment(s) as i never fail to see and feel the substances in them. Do be generous with your wisdoms.

There is a nagging intuition or it is instinct that tells me foreigners will buy up everything viable and profitable here when they are liberally allowed to.

DEAR FELLOW CITIZEN:
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY AND IT IS ABSOLUTELY, NO REASON WHY HIGHLY PROFITABLE ESSENTIAL GOODS AND SERVICES SHOULD BE IN THE HANDS OF PRIVATE OPERATORS. EVEN IF THEY ARE, THE GOVERNMENT MUST ENSURE THAT THE PRIVATE OPERATORS BE REASONABLY AND JUSTIFIABLY REWARDED AND NOT PROFITEER FROM THE LOCAL USERS/CONSUMERS.

and local entrepreneurs should be given priority to take over them.

IS OUR GOVERNMENT TOO LAZY TO RUN PROFITABLE GOODS AND SERVICES FOR ITS' PEOPLE ? MY ANSWER; AN ABSOLUTE YES! SHIRKER OF DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITY.

I am not hiding behind the screen saying the above, so i will put down my name here: Sim C B.

It is EXTREMELY STRANGE when vital life-lines such as utilities and security are owned and entrusted to foreigners.

Many of the protected places such as airports, seaport, mrt, reservoirs, power stations, substations, banks, hospitals and even prisons are manned by Malaysians and Gurkhas. Does the deployments of aliens to all the vital installations not compromising the safeties of the state and the people ??

SIN is not Sabah, Sarawak or Nepal but an Independent State.

Try looking at it from another angle, like we are just a MNC, then things will look more palatable, and comfortable.

What I find distasteful and disgusting is to be checked by foreigners in uniform to enter my own country which I have donned on military uniform to defend with my life. Or was I imagining?

patriot, you are so passionate about your cause.

anyone who cares about what is happening to his country and is passionate enough to show concern, and want the country to be better, for the next generation, and generations to come, is a patriot.

Mind you, all of us are doing it not for the money. Not a single cent for doing the necessary.

If concerned Singaporeans do not talk about our own affairs, who else should be talking?

Apathy should be a thing of the past and all Singaporeans should speak out for the good of the country and the people, and people I mean Singaporeans.

There must be this little selfishness among Singaporeans to want to own this land and have a say on how things are done for their own selfish interests as citizens. If not, what's good is there about citizenship?

Hi Wally Sir,

me was quite disappointed and disagreeable with a site that i was regularly posting at and co-incidentally my laptop went kaput then, so i went into a hiatus for a few months.

Monitoring My Singapore News and some other sites from time to time, just can't wean myself from the local affairs, sic.

Just went into your site earlier in the morning, wonder if the foundation is set. Feel like saying to You that You got to make sure it can stand the elements of destructions, the impacts could be.. You know la. Anyway, my best regards.

Chin Leng has my mobile contact and i lost yours with my missing mobile set nearly a year ago. I am ever ready for coffee, cigarette, tiger or plain water. Make arrangement and i will appear.

Now, i sometimes post anonymous, not to hide behind the screen, but to get some funs.

Now, You see; You did not know that we were actually together, just because You have a nonentity, faceless acquaintance. Some buggers are trolls though, beware !

Yours Truly: patriot
