9/3 Victory Parade - Taking sides, no more pretending to be friendly but stabbing China from behind

 China's Victory Parade is meant to be the same as the Europeans and Americans commemorating D Day or Russian's victory over Nazi Germany. But this Parade is again being politicised by the American terrorists and turning into a with us or against us event. The Americans are twisting the arms of their European allies, colonies and cronies not to attend the Parade.

Japan is also doing the same, making calls to Asean states not to attend the Parade. This in a way is getting more interesting and countries sitting on the fence would have to make a deliberate choice. Those that attended would end up in the bad books of the Americans and Japanese and may face sanctions or more tariffs. Those that did not turn up will expose which side they are on, can no longer pretend to be neutral to be like India, play both sides. This is shiok to watch and see how they try to wriggle out from it with sophistry.

With the whole world being caught up in the new divide, forced by all the sanctions, tariffs and coercion by the Americans, attendance in this Parade is going to be telling, to be with the Americans and Japanese or to be with China and the Global South. Countries that play the strategic ambiguity game would be in a very difficult position now. Do die, don't do also die.

Countries cannot choose to be neutral as they have to attend or be absent, cannot be in the middle. Can countries cook up things like a matter of principle, rules based order, or being polite, ie have to attend because one is invited? Those not invited would have an easy choice.

Oh, there is a way to minimise the impact by sending a low level minister to attend instead of a head of govt. This is a way of appeasing the Americans and Japanese by going halfway and also not to offend the Chinese with a direct rebuff. The Americans and Japanese are not coercing or forcing them, for sure.

Who is making all the American cronies stuck between a rock and a hard place, forcing them to take sides? It is a ceremonial event, like commemorating the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Why make such a big farce?  Being American cronies is increasingly very difficult and uncomfortable. For the BRICS countries and the majority of the Global South, the choice is easier. Just attend without the American terrorists and Japanese breathing down their neck. 

With China as their biggest trading partner, how many would risk offending China and choose to kiss the ass of Trump and the Japanese?

Tariff is a double edged sword - American companies are bleeding and fleeing

 The western media only look at the world from their own perspective, praising every act of the Americans and western govts against China and the rest of the world, and exaggerating how China and the world are suffering from American and western aggressive behaviours. In the case of the tariff war, China is suffering, Chinese companies are suffering and closing, workers are being layoff. How serious is the tariff really hitting China and Chinese companies?

For one, importing from America, buying American goods are going to cost a lot more. In reality, China just stop buying American. Case closed, nothing to worry about. China only needs some high end American chips and this would hurt some Chinese companies and products, would stop China from making more advances in high tech innovations. But this also is no longer true. China is now self sufficient in chips and imposed a total ban on importing American chips. This part of the tariff equation is no longer relevant. There will be still some products or components that China needs from America. But by keeping tariff low, at 10%, Chinese companies can still manufacture goods without having to become uncompetitive.

Exporting to America at 35% will hit Chinese exporters. But they are all diversifying to the rest of the world. Losing the American market will be compensated by new markets elsewhere. There are still many products that can be sold to America even at 35% tariff but with lower profit margin. It is the poor Americans that have to pay for the price hike. Not China's problem.

What the western media did not want to see or report about are the consequences hitting American companies. Many American companies need components, raw material and semi process parts and accessories from China in their production chain. Importing them at 35% tariff will mean having to price their products higher, thus no longer competitive to be made in America. And the same products, if exported to China or any country around the world would also be hit with reciprocal tariffs from the respective countries. This means American products would be hit with a double whammy, higher production cost and higher exporting cost. This combination would kill all products made in America.

This is the main reason why so many American companies are relocating out of America, just like what the Chinese companies are doing. Mexico, Brazil, Latin American companies and companies in Asean are going to be beneficiaries from this tariff wars when they can trade with China with no or little tariffs. American companies have no choice but to move out to these countries so that they can import and export from/to China. 

What did Trump want to achieve? Bringing manufacturing back to America? The numbers say NO. Manufacturing in America just because of the two way tariffs would be a dead proposition. And we are not even talking about the high cost of labour, inefficient labour, small pool of labour, crippling labour relations. America cannot be a replacement for manufacturing goods and products.

Thank you very much, Donald. Manufacturing in America with the new tariff rates both ways is a big NO GO.

Indians save America from becoming Third World

 The Indians are in America and doing a wonderful job in the corporate world, in industry and in the academia. These brilliant Indians are the best from India. Their presence in America is a brain drain that is hollowing out India but benefitting America in many areas. But Trump and the hillbillies are ungrateful. They cannot see the huge contributions of the Indian talents to lift America out of poverty and slipping into the Third World. In a similar way, Singapore is also lifted out from the Third World by the Indian talents, the third and fourth best Indians, the best are in America. And Singapore is very happy with these Indian talents that cannot make it in America.

Look at it from another angle. Where would Microsoft, Google and a whole lot of top American corporations be without the Indians to keep them up there? Several hundred top American companies would have turned belly up without the Indian CEOs driving them. What would happen to Silicon Valley without the Indian talents filling 50% of all the IT and tech jobs? Singapore is also saved by the Indians. DBS would not be where it is without the Indians. So lucky that Singapore finally found a Singaporean to head DBS. If not, the Indian CEO would be there for life. Singapore's IT industry, and the move to become a smart city, depend greatly on Indian talents. Both America and Singapore would be a pale of themselves without the Indians.

And the Indian academics are teaching the Americans and Singaporeans in the universities. They are imparting their knowledge to benefit the students of both countries. Never mind the irony that third world academics teaching first world students in world best universities. Especially in the case of Singapore, without the Indian politicians, our no talent Singaporeans would be in serious trouble, heavy difficulties in finding a foreign minister.

It is very unfair and ungrateful for Trump and his clowns to dismiss the Indian community so harshly, condemning them in the media, calling India a dead economy. If all the Indian talents were to move back to India, America would be the dead economy. The FBI Chief is also an Indian. So lucky. And by the next election, the first lady would also be an Indian. 

America would sorely miss the Indians if they keep on hammering the Indians. If this is not stop, Modi would issue an order to stop Indians going to America and recalling all the Indian talents back to India. America would hollow out its talent pool and sink to the Third World.

It is the Indians that are making America great again, not Trump or the white Americans. Search no further. Import more Indians and America will be great again. It would be better for America for the Indians to take over Congress, the Senate and the White House then the incumbent clowns.

Wake up Americans. You need the Indian talents to keep you afloat. All the white Americans just want to be politicians or lawyers and punting in Wall Street, to make easy money without the need to think deeply in science and technology. It is the Indians that are propping up the American corporate and tech world. America needs the Indian talents to compete with China. Without the Indians it would be no contest.

Learn from Singapore and appreciate the Indian talents. If America does not want the Indian talents, Singapore's arms are wide open to welcome all of them to the island. The more the merrier, to keep no talent Singapore to remain in the First World.

Americans, say a big thank you to your Indian talents and welcome more Indians to America. And be kind to the Indians. They will fill up the jobs that no talent white Americans cannot do.  Make America great again with Indians, not with brain dead hillbillies.

Guess when Modi will be running back to kiss Trump's ass

There is supposed to be further tariff negotiations between India and the USA. Trump's modus operandi is to start with a high tariff and then lower it and gloating about how great a negotiator he is with another big, beautiful and awesome deal.

I think Trump and his administration are now getting jittery about India closing relations with China, that will make India an impotent attack dog in trying to contain China. The USA had been cultivating India for a long time to be used against China and is not going to dump India. That is why it is important for China to be careful regarding the rapprochement by India with even a visit by Modi in September.

Of course, China will want a closer relation with India to negate the effect of the problems with the USA, but not with a on and off type of behavior like Javier Milei of Argentina and Giorgia Meloni of Italy. These two are like bamboos swaying in the wind, unable to stand up to threats from the USA.

But then, Palki Sharma is trying to spin it into China trying to be closer and needing India to counter the USA. Mr Hunzi's goddess is a shameless propagandist in the art of twisting facts into fiction.

India is the next punching bag for Bessant

That was Scott Bessant's argument, knowing that he already lost his bearings against China. Having lost the main target for demonization, India is therefore being trotted out as the next punching bag for Bessant to unload his propaganda using India as a doormat.

Why is India's profiteering a concern for the USA when it is not buying Indian Oil? India is in fact buying USA oil, which is one reason the USA does not want India to buy more Russian oil which is competing with the USA. It is the EU buying Russian oil through India and China, which derails the USA's intention to corner the EU oil market. That was what all the sanctions against Russian oil was all about and why the Nord Stream pipelines were sabotaged.

We have to read between the lines to know what the USA agenda is. It is what we call looking after the USA's own interest, not the interest of the EU. After all, if the EU is content to buy oil from India, which is probably cheaper than from the USA. What is wrong with business between a willing buyer and a willing seller that needs the USA to act as the devil's advocate.
