Los Angeles is still burning - American govt no money to help the victims but got money to give to Zelensky and Netanyahu

Los Angeles is still burning after more than two weeks or since January 7th. Lots of funny things are happening. Looters masquerading as firemen. Untrained Incarcerated people employed as firemen to help in firefighting and being paid 'slave wages'. Where is Human Rights Watch hiding under and pretending to be mutes? If this were to happen in China, they and the West will be the first to be screaming their heads off.

Now there is a site set up for donations to help those affected. Laughable really as most of the homes of stars and millionaires have been burnt to the ground, and they need donations? It was reported that landlords are increasing rentals and hotels upping their rates to accommodate those affected temporarily. The rich can afford being slaughtered by those benefitting from the misery of others, but not the poor. Where is the role of the USA Government or State in all this? Don't they have a duty to at least provide temporary alternative housing for the victims?

I understand, from watching videos and listening to the comments on Youtube, by people who migrated to Rednote from Tik Tok and having interacted with Chinese users, that in China they were told that whenever a fire destroyed homes, the Chinese Government will provide temporary free shelter for the victims, together will food and other necessities. This is basic human rights under a democratic Government, is it not? What are the USA voters voting for under a democracy if this is not the least they can expect?

It is time for USA citizens to wake up. They are voting for a government more interested in starting wars, antagonizing China and Russia, spreading fabricated news, seizing sovereign states, forcing them to buy expensive things like EVs and groceries and keeping the voters ignorant and naive about what is happening around the world. That USA citizens, now using Rednote, are shocked and felt terribly lied to and shortchanged by their own Government is, to say the least, totally unwarranted.

India - Fact or fantasy is now clearly exposed

The USA and the West have now discovered the reality about India and are now not as positive about India becoming the next China, which they can then invest in to take advantage of the cheap labor harping on India's Population Dividend. The Western world trumpeting on this gives India an added reason to keep gloating about its rise as a manufacturing power to take over from China. Fact or fantasy is now clearly exposed.

Had their confidence in investing in India not been deflated, USA companies will have started moving to India en masse. No, they are not going to call such cheap labor in India as 'slave wages' for now, so long as they can continue to benefit from it. 'Slave wages' will only become the ammunition to demonize India when India starts to have huge trade surpluses with the USA, like China. And India will likewise be accused of stealing jobs from USA citizens. This is in their playbook and will not be any different from what China went through.

Just look at what the USA is doing against the top four countries that the USA is trying to erect high tariffs against - China, Japan, EU (with Germany the main target) and Mexico. The USA does not produce much consumer needs domestically and have to import products from these countries, and it is a no brainer that the USA will suffer trade deficits with these countries. Unless the USA can really go back to manufacturing, there is no way those deficits will shrink. Trump is trying to reverse the trend by using tariffs to cut down on USA trade deficits, which is not going to work and will only be punishing USA citizens. The fact that the Hillbillies are ignorant about countries outside the USA gives the Government leeway to steal from them under stealth.

Trump is a big fan of fossil fuel

As I have said all along, Trump is a big fan of fossil fuel, and a big dissident, if I may use the word, of renewables. Trump probably has huge interest in oil exploration majors or have huge donors from oil industry players. That basically is diametrically opposed to huge donors to Trump's campaign like Elon Musk. Musk is fighting a losing battle looking at events unfolding. If it does come to Canada and Greenland being seized, Trump will continue to shout 'Drill baby drill' for more oil from his two new additional territories.

There is much hyping about China still collapsing mantra, with its oil demand shrinking, its property sector unravelling, all without looking or considering its trade surplus still rising to the heavens at almost US$1 trillion last year. Is this a sign that China is collapsing which is just a fantasy or a fact. China's demand for oil will keep falling due to its electrification moves in almost every direction - EVs, Public Transport, rural outreach in electrification, which will all result in China cutting its dependence on fossil fuel usage. Now with more gas reaching China from Russia's 'Power of Siberia 2' pipeline in 2030, less usage of oil will be the outcome.

The USA under Trump can continue to promote fossil fuel and keeping its car manufacturers alive and hooked on ICE vehicle output, while the rest of the world moves on with renewables adoption like EVs, wind turbines and solar panels.

Americans lying about TikTok ownership

Trump threw a red herring about a 50:50 ownership of TikTok between China and the USA. This is impossible because China does not own TikTok nor ByteDance. ByteDance is 60% owned by international institutions, and the three major shareholders are American companies. The two Chinese shareholders of ByteDance are its creators, and they only own 20% while the balance 20% were own by its employees. And ByteDance is a Cayman registered company, not a company registered in China.

Technically and legally, ByteDance is not a Chinese company. In the same manner, ByteDance Chinese owners proportionally own only 20% of TikTok. If the employees' shares are included, the Chinese ownership will be only 40% of TikTok. The international institutions, mainly Americans, already own 60% of TikTok.

Trump and his legal advisers cannot miss this point, and to keep on harping about a 50% ownership is just a lie, a ploy. China does not have 50% of TikTok shares to sell to the Americans. And the Americans already own 60% of TikTok, more than what Trump is asking for.

So, what is the big fuss? TikTok is as good as already own by the Americans with 60% of the share ownership. The Americans are experts in laws and not to notice this is plain trickery.

What is the real intent of the Americans for kicking such a big ruse on TikTok to the point of banning it?

Trump's H-1B policy must be making Singapore salivating

Trump's new immigration policies including changes in H-1B visa and automatic citizenship for those born in the USA are whipping up a storm for foreigners chasing the American Dream. 18,000 illegal Indian migrants are identified for immediate deportation. And this is only the tip of the iceberg. The legal Indian migrants entering the US under the H-1B visa scheme are also starting to worry about their future in their land of dreams. One sticky point is citizenship for their American born children that would be scrapped if Trump has his wish come true.

There are several millions of professional Indians in the US. Some are starting to have second thoughts about staying in the US for the long run, to become American citizens. Those Indians in Canada are also facing the same question. And the situation would be the same if Canada becomes the 51st state of the USA.

A small percentage of this Indian diaspora could mean a few hundred thousand of Indians available and will be on the move. And very likely their first choice would be Singapore. Many of these could have already acquired Singapore pink IC or PR status and returning to Singapore would be easy. With Singapore's craving for foreign talents to replace the no talent Singaporeans that are only good to be jig workers and hawkers, Trump is doing Singapore a big favour. Singapore can open its legs wide, wide to receive more Indian talents from the USA.

Would a big influx of Indian talents flooding Singapore be good enough to make the 6.9m target? Or would the 6.9m be raised to 10m seeing how easy it is to attract foreign talents and with so many available and willing to become Singapore citizens? One thing for sure, despite the low fertility rate, the demand for housing especially HDB flats would continue to grow exponentially, and HDB would be making bigger losses as it builds more and sell more flats to Singaporeans and new Singaporeans. And more green lungs would be cut down to make way for more HDB flats.  Poor wild animals would have no choice but to invade HDB estates to find more living space.

Singapore would be the biggest beneficiary of Trump's immigration policies and those leaving America would have no fear of nowhere to go. Singapore will welcome them with open arms. Singapore will prosper with more jobs created by the foreigners for Singaporeans. Food delivery workers and hawkers would see a surge in their businesses and income and could live a better life.

What do you think?
