Will Singapore reconsider its reckless unrestrained policy of importing foreigners?
Novel coronavirus: Will the returning 30,000 Chinese workers become collateral damage in Singaporeans’ disenchantment with the government’s pro-foreigners policies?
Singapore, if and when orange turns into red, may face its first real test of nationhood. No amount of pseudo-Bicentennialism celebration can substitute for the coming challenge of community trust. Already some signs of panic buying and irresponsible behaviour have been showing. Medical swipes, thermometers and surgical masks are being hoarded amid a stream of fake news and mischievous online postings. And there is this huge group of 30,000 work-pass holders from China due to come back to Singapore after the New Year break. They will be put on the mandatory 14 days leave of absence first. Do we sympathise with them as we would the people of Wuhan? Or shun them as collateral damage in Singaporeans’ overall disenchantment with the PAP government’s pro-foreigner policies?
The above is the concluding part of Tan Bah Bah's article appearing in theindependent.sg and his question on Singapore's unrestrained immigration policy to increase its population for economic growth numbers.
Without battling an eyelid I would safely answer that the unrestrained immigration policy will continue unperturbed. For growing of population is now the only game plan that this one trick pony has to keep the economy appearing to be growing. Without this, to keep a semblance of economic growth, the Singapore economy would go into negative territory and might even register a recession that it is trying so hard to avoid.
So how, with the risk of importing deadly contagious diseases getting higher with more wildlife from third world slum countries coming here? Fear not, and this is the unique reason why Singapore has no fear of such diseases. Deadly contagious diseases like SARS, swine fever, bird flu and this coronavirus would not come from dirty and filthy slum third world countries. Such diseases somehow have a special penchant to only attack China, a country that is hundreds of times cleaner and more hygienic than filthy third world slum countries.
So, maybe Singapore will tweat and fine tune its foreigner importing programme by not importing new migrants from China but from the rest of the filthy third world slum countries. Third world wildlife are cleaner and disease free. In this way no deadly and contagious diseases will find its way here. And this can be scientifically proven by using data to support this theory. So far all the deadly contagious diseases only came from China, not from third world slum countries. QED.

China's battle againt the Wuhan virus - Leishenshan Hospital built in 10 days
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEVkVdlNaxk, and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVHxmWTMUdk
Above are two short videos of the construction of the 1,600 bed hospital in Wuhan to house the patients infected by the Wuhan virus. The engineers and construction workers worked non stop for 10 days, day and night, to get the hospital up and operational at unprecedented time. Another few hospitals will be converted from existing buildings to house another 10,000 patients are also being built and to be completed in a matter of days. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnUPbhLVbfM
This is how China battles this virus epidemic, mustering all the manpower and resources available with meticulous planning, coordination, management and supervision, bringing together logistics and engineering expertise, to make such medical facilities available at such a short span of time.
All the buildings, beds and equipment will be useless without the medical personnel to use them. Here comes the PLA medical teams. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnUPbhLVbfM and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfD94aSMBJQ
And the factories manufacturing the medicines and drugs and medical supplies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NztC2ovIDAI
The Chinese people have all come together, united as a people, to fight this plague with all they have, to win this battle.
Let's hope a vaccine is quickly developed to stop this plague from growing and causing more harm to human lives in China and around the world.

Viruses don't differentiate colour, race or religion. An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. We are after all one big family. Love and support from France
These guys are like soldiers, going head first into battle against the virus outbreak.
China shall overcome this, all our prayers and well wishes to the people of China especially those in Wuhan. Stay strong
We must appreciate them more since these calls to work are not voluntary, my retired 70 year old relative has to go to Wuhan because he was a lung specialist, even though the main group of patients are of his age, we worry about his health since he just recover from a bad infection and now involuntarily being sent into what is basically a health disaster with poor immune system.
What's scary is that these soldiers don't get to see their enemies, it's an unfair fight to began with. Hope they get out of this unscathed
You got to admire that man and others like him
for their dedication to helping others.
Respect to all the medical staffs! Hopefully they stay safe and non of them dies. Please return back safely!

Wuhan virus epidemic timeline - when was the first infection?
Everyone knows that 31 Dec 19 was the day China reported the detection of this new unknown virus in Wuhan that affected 41 victims. But when was the first patient got infected, the day this virus started to infect human beans in Wuhan or in the province of Hubei? I will use some assumptions to try to back track and determine when this whole thing got started in Wuhan, Hubei, China.
1. First assumption, incubation period of 5 to 14 days.
2. It would take at least another 14 days for enough people to fall sick, with some dying before someone raise the red flag.
3. It would take at least 7 days for the lab to identify a new virus.
4. It would take 10 to 14 days for more people to be infected and more people dying before the top decision makers were informed.
5. It would take 3 to 7 days before a decision is made at the highest level to inform WHO that a new epidemic is in the making.
6. From the rate in which the disease is spreading, and from many parts of Hubei and China, it is likely that the disease was quite widespread, when confirmed that it is a new strain and very infectious and also deadly, when the report was made to WHO.
From the above assumptions, from the day the virus first struck to the day it was reported to WHO it could be from 43 days to 56 days. Working backwards from 31 Dec 19, the virus could have struck from as early as the first week of November 2019 or mid November 2019. The first infection could be around early November 2019, with 5 to 14 days of incubation and the first outbreak when people started to fall sick at end of November or early December, and seeing the doctors. And it would take about a month for testing, observation, meetings and finally reporting to the top leaders of the govt.
Since the outbreak of this epidemic, there have been many conspiracy theories floating around with some even alleging that the virus was Made In China and escaped from a Chinese lab in Wuhan, but mostly pointing the finger at China as the guilty party. China is to be blamed for this outbreak and the new virus. With China being the one and only guilty party, no one else is to be blamed. Everyone is innocent, including the real culprits that planted the virus in Wuhan.
Below are some information of an international military game held in Wuhan from 18-27 Oct 2019. Notice that more than 300 American soldiers/athletes were in Wuhan during this period and probably could stay on for another week of R & R in the city, visiting all the famous tourist spots, including the famous wildlife market.
WUHAN, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- A group of 17 athletes from the U.S. Armed Forces has arrived at the airport in the central Chinese city of Wuhan for the up-coming 2019 Military World Games here on Monday midnight. About 300 athletes from the United States are expected to arrive in the next 2 days.
Mark Juliano, a U.S. archery and taekwondo player, said he believed his compatriots would do very well in events like running sports, triathlon, archery and taekwondo....
"You developed world-class venues and I can't wait to experience the Games," he said, adding that he also planned to visit several local scenic spots, including the Yellow Crane Tower and a buddhist temple....
The Military World Games is a multi-sport event that has taken place every four years since 1995. The 7th Games runs from the 18th to 27th of October in Wuhan.
Notice the coincidence of the presence of American soldiers in Wuhan and the start of this deadly and infectious disease after they left? And of course none of the American soldiers were infected or fell ill because of it. The American soldiers were innocent angels participating in a military sporting event and left after having a good time in Wuhan, without leaving anything behind or knowing what had happened after they left the city.
