Racial relations Survey

Racial relations are taking the limelight again with the Survey by the Institute of Policy Studies. The survey revealed some expected results in a multi racial society that has been subject to some violent rape and assault recently. There is nothing new really and the findings could even be deduced with a little bit of thinking. The Survey only confirmed the situation with the numbers from the respondents.
 
What did the Survey expect to find out other than the obvious? What is behind the thinking of the people behind the Survey? There seems to be some preconceived ideas or expectations that are deemed to be good and not good. There are some presumptions of what a good multi racial society should be. And one of the good or right things is that all the different races would be hugging and kissing each other everyday. And all of them will be socializing with each other, visiting each other and making friends if not sleeping together. The people are expected to reach out to understand other races and their sensitivities! Are these the expectations? If so, then they will be very disappointed. Is it the responsibility of individuals to make time to understand others when they hardly have time for themselves?
 
There are many conditions and natural behavior of human beans that would not allow it to be so. Even in a homogenous community, not everyone is hugging and kissing everyone and loving everyone or knowing everyone. There is the limitation of time. In a hot bed society like ours, everyone is so busy trying to make his living better, chasing after that dollar to pay for whatever that is needed. How much time would one have left to go sneaking around other people’s homes and prying into people’s affairs, people who have nothing to do with you or do not matter in their lives?
 
The days when life was less hectic, when there were plenty of idle time to do what one pleased, socializing, talking shop and playing are over. You can’t rewind the society to those days when living was easy and there were plenty of time to gaze at the stars or making love and raising children.
 
Then there are the individual traits that may not be particularly social in nature. Not everyone would like to be busybody or poking their noses at other people’s life and affairs. There are many that are more comfortable doing their own things, be themselves and amusing themselves in their private pursuits. What the heck is this thing that everyone is expected to be socializing with everyone and with other races to be seen as good, normal and expected? What craps! Oh, there are people who would want to be around with people, talking and yaking the whole day and night. Not everyone will conform to the same mould and expectation of the social scientists.
 
People will get together when they have the time and the common interests. People make friends by sharing their common activities in common areas. If the interests are different, how could they be seen messing around with each other? Would the crows and the mynahs be kissing each other or feeding in the same trough? Would one scorn at the crows or mynahs for not associating with each other or for not playing ball together? Would one be unhappy with the introverts, the not so sociable, the not so kaypoh for keeping themselves away from the maddening crowd? Different people chose to have different lifestyles and different ways of living, and people should respect that. Are the people expected to open their doors or go down to the community halls after work to prove that they are part of a community? And why bother to do that in a hotel of strangers? Are the people expected to be sharing their food with their neighbours, greeting and kissing their neighbours along the corridors?
 
As a country and community, what is expected and important is for the people to feel as one people, to believe in the share destiny and common interests, to have the freedom of choice to live as one chooses, but behind all these, to stand up for the country as one united people when a situation demands it. I think this is already asking too much of the people.
 
Is the Survey expecting too much? Or the Survey already knows what to expect and any shortcomings would be seen as unsatisfactory?

Japan about to declare war on China

Last year the Japanese created a farce by buying the Chinese islands of Daioyu from one of its citizens with a fictitious ownership. This has created alarm in China while the Japanese thought the Chinese were as dumb as the Manchus and would agree to their silly act. This final act of aggression is the last straw and China would not allow any further misstep in this direction. Another false move by the Japanese to assert control over the Chinese islands would be tantamount to a declaration of war.
 
Shinto Abe’s election platform was to put Japanese official in the islands and they are saying it again, this time by the Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga that Japan is considering deploying personnel to the islands. Any attempt of such nature will be war as far as China is concerned. Japan must not try to move another inch as the Chinese have taken their position and drawn the line that Japan would not be allowed to cross.
 
War between the two countries is so close and only a matter of time as the highly charged nationalistic group in the country, with Shinto Abe as the leader, is bound to try its luck with China. This group would want to revive Japan’s past military glory and claiming Diaoyu Islands is the first move.
 
China is watching closely and is preparing for the day the Japanese make the next move. There will be no nonsense, and no need for the National People’s Congress to approve. Any Japanese officials landing on the islands will be war.

Wake up old Sinkies and all going to be oldies

Are the Sinkies still in a stupor? The temperature is near boiling point and they are not noticing it, still happy like hell. After reading the few latest postings on the sum of premiums NTUC is charging and the near to 40% increases annually, with the sum hitting $4000, this is no longer a laughing matter any more. The complainants did not reveal their age but they are likely to be around 50 or 60 to be slammed with such high premiums. I cannot imagine what the premiums for Medishield Life will be like for those in their 70s, 80s and above. Do people really expect someone to be buying medical insurance at 90 or 100 years old?

All you senior citizens out there, if your faculties are still functioning and thinking, and not in a state of dementia, you are in deep deep trouble should Medishield Life be made compulsory. At the rate things are going, if the current premiums and rate of increases are what things are likely to be, you would soon be on your knees begging for mercy, for having nothing left in your savings to pay the robbers. When people are going after your coffin money without giving you a chance to say no, ‘NO, Don’t you dare touch my money,’ you need not be polite to them anymore. Robbers are robbers in any guise.

The Medishield Life is going to be like another Population White Paper that will be shafted down the people’s throat. There can be no resistance from the oldies. Any attempt to fight back is futile. If you want to kpkb, better make it now, and loud and clear, to frighten away the monkeys. By keeping quiet, you are only encouraging them to plan to finish off your savings. You are as guilty as them for emboldening them to do as they pleased.

All the oldies, and going to be oldies, this includes every young person, it is your money at stake. They are coming after your money, the last few dollars you hope to last till your last breath. No, they will finish it before you conk off…. unless you stand up on your feeble feet, wave your feeble hands to tell them you mean business.

It is a very wicked thought to think of making oldies that are out of jobs to pay for a hefty medical insurance that they did not want and have no right of refusal. Who the hell do they think they are? Robbers? Bandits? Pirates? And they are so ruthless that they would not spare the oldies and would not let them live in peace.

Whoever that is working on this scheme, if you are really kind and caring, leave the oldies’ money out of your scheme of things. The oldies cannot afford it. Any design on the oldies’ money only reveals the true intent of your scheme. You can’t be so desperate to even think of robbing the oldies of their last few dollars in their last few years of existence? (I stand corrected if the premiums will be foot by the govt). Please don’t tell the oldies it will be affordable. To the oldies that have no income, everything is unaffordable. I know there are exceptions, with some oldies drawing pensions that could make them millionaires every year.

Would the oldies dare to make their last stand, I mean just standing? Or the legs are too weak and feeble, and the knees are wobbling? Or the mind is gone and they are not able to protect their own interests anymore and are at the mercy of cunning robbers?

Heaven have eyes.

Did Putin blink?

It looks like Putin, the Russian equivalent of Rambo in the political arena, is backing down and trying to appease the Americans. Putin is asking the Assad Govt to surrender their chemical weapons to the Americans. The Western media gave the impression that the Syrians are outlaws, not a signatory to the banning of chemical weapons. But the western media did not say that the Americans and Israel and many other pro American countries are also not signatories and also in possession of huge cache of chemical weapons, no, Assad did not have the most chemical weapons that the western media would like the world to believe, it is the Americans and also Israel that are possessing the most chemical weapons in their arsenals.
 
Now you may want to ask why the Americans and the Israelis are allowed to hold on to their chemical weapons but Assad not allowed to keep his? The same reasoning, the Americans and also Israel are allowed to possess nuclear weapons while Iran and North Korea not allowed. The simple answer, they are stronger militarily and would attack or invade any country that dares challenge their dominance in the possession of nuclear and chemical weapons. Only they can have them and others cannot unless the latter can stand up to them.
 
Putin has capitulated and compromised the position of the Assad Govt. If they surrender their chemical weapons, they will be at the mercy of the Americans and Israelis who have chemical weapons and can use them against the Syrians. This concession by Putin, though a sign of weakness, has somehow pulled the rug under Obama’s feet. It could be a bargaining ploy from a weaker position. The Americans could attack Syria and the Russians could not do much about it. It is like Cuba once again. The Americans are dictating the terms and the Russians backed down.
 
In this case it does have some positive effects in the sense that it has taken the wind out of the warmongers in Obama’s camp whose only professed position is to stop Assad from conducting chemical attacks, which unfortunately he might not have done it but been framed for it. This is the ugliness of the Empire and how it schemes and fabricates situations to fix its enemies. Putin is playing the world’s opinion against the Americans and also gives the anti war Americans a reason to say no to the warmongers in the White House. The Syrian Govt has conceded defeat, there is no more reason to launch an attack.
 
Really? When the hawks in the White House have decided to attack, they will not abandon their cause and will continue to find excuses to attack Syria. The chemical weapon attack is just a ruse, an excuse. What they want is the removal of the Assad Govt even if they have to support terrorist organizations like the Al Qaeda against a legimitate govt of Assad.
 
The Evil Empire has many other agendas to want to attack Syria. Now it is up to the American public and Congressmen and women to haul back these war hogs. It is thus a fight in the White House without any real issues except to promote American military supremacy, to kill more or less Syrians, to show who is boss or the supreme international gangster.

The COE system is the best ever

I am so glad that the COE system remains practically intact with a couple of minor changes that have nothing to do with me, or neither would they affect my chances of getting my COE whenever I need to buy a car. You see, what I have is money. And I simply tell the car dealer to put in as high a bid as needed. Money no problem. And I know very well that I need not pay for the exorbitant bid that I put in. Bao chiat one. And I am very sure I will be paying the lowest possible that those losers can afford to bid for. This kind of bidding is really the best. And I need not bribe anyone to design such a wonderful system that favours me, the rich man.

Who cares if the premium goes higher and higher? I can afford what. Psst, don’t tell the losers that no matter how much I bid, I always pay the lowest, like them.

And also, LTA decided not to levy extra for my 9th or 10th car. Now if I buy my 20th car, I still pay the same low and very affordable COE. I hope the clever people in charge will keep this system for as long as they can. It is flawless really, near perfection I would say. Only the losers who cannot afford to pay or bid higher would be complaining. Not me for sure. I love it. Keep it up! Good work.

Thank God we have so many brilliant people supporting such a perfect system. I don’t think anyone can ever think of a better system than this. It is so good, so efficient that they can’t improve on it anymore. Should submit a patent to protect its copyright in case other countries want to copy it.

Now who dares to say this system is no good?
