- Joshua Wong Chi Fung was the mastermind behind the 2014 Occupy Central protests in Hongkong. This traitorous kid condones violence to bring his brand of Democracy. For him, democracy means anyone who disagrees that democracy is best, will be silenced, walloped or maimed, as evidenced in his Kamikaze crazy protest movement in Hong Kong. He is enjoying support from Marco Rubio, Nancy Pelosi, and surprisingly America hates China so much that for once Republican and Democrat don't challenge each other, so long as "kill China" mode is on. It was ridiculous that Fortune Magazine named this kid as a brilliant leader, he was even nominated for Nobel Peace prize. The way the Americans work, if 1.4 billion Chinese are decimated, the person who pressed the kill button would also get Nobel Prize for Peace and Human Rights and Democracy. Democracy, it is a damn, dirty word. American politicians are the most evil creatures on Earth.
A normal kopitiam at night in Singapore. Typical night life of the average Singaporeans in a govt built housing estate.

The fairy tales of eternal economic growth
People are suffering, people are dying, entire ecosystems are dying, ‘We
are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is
money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth.’ Gretha Thunberg
The above quote is what this young girl said in her speech on Climate Change at the UN. Do they sound familiar? Anyone can relate to her words about economic growth? Who does not want economic growth? In this little island, everything is about economic growth, growth at all cost, because if you don’t have economic growth, how to pay million dollar salaries to the employees? And how to have easy economic growth? Grow the population by importing all the wildlife you can find to fill up every inch of earth on this island. When they are here, they need to have housing, services, food, cars, entertainments etc etc, ie they need to eat and consume goods and services. All these activities adds to one thing, economic growth!
But one problem, their activities would also lead to higher uses of plastic bags and plastic straws, and these are not good for climate change. So we must all work very hard to cut down use of plastic bags and plastic straws. Get it?
In Greta Thunberg’ speech she gave a scathing attack on world leaders for betraying the young people through a lack of action on climate change. She added. ‘You have stolen my dreams and my childhood through your empty words…The eyes of all future generations are upon you. And if you choose to fail us I say we will never forgive you.
How can the world leaders fail them when they are working so hard to provide better life for them through eternal economic growth? Is there a contradiction, is there a lie? Economic growth is the panacea of everything good in life, the more growth the better, never mind if it means stuffing 20m people in this little piece of rock. It is good.
When Adam and Eve were the only two living beans on earth, there is aplenty in everything, fresh air, food, green forests, no plastics, little waste and all the natural resources for the two beans to enjoy. Now the world’s population is 6b and growing because world leaders need more human beans to increase economic growth. Soon there will be 7b, 8b or more people sharing the earth, consuming all the resources, eating all the fishes in the ocean. Poisoning the ocean with plastic waste, nuclear waste etc etc. Temperature rising.
Not to worry, it would not happen to us. Don’t listen to this Greta Thunberg. She does not know how good economic growth is. You want your HDB flat to be worth $1m? If your answer is yes, you must want economic growth. You must want 10m, 20m people in this island. Please support the no holds bar immigration policy to bring in more and more people, then we can build more and more properties to house them, more shopping centres, more hawker centres and food courts, more reservoirs, more power stations….and more plastic bags.
A lot of serious thoughts have been put into this formula of more people equal more economic growth. No one can deny economic growth. Let’s go for it, Greta Thunberg or no Greta Thunberg. We know what is good for us, the residents of this little piece of rock. And we will share this piece of rock with more wildlife, the more the merrier.

Singapore needs a massive revamp of the income tax regime
The poor Singaporeans are the highest taxed individuals in Singapore in nett terms. Though many have been beguiled by the little income tax they are paying, many low income and no income Singaporeans are still subject to the regressive GST, taxing on everything that a Singaporean used and consumed. This is very unhealthy and discriminatory against the poor and low income Singaporeans. At 7% GST, poor Singaporeans, no income Singaporeans and low income Singaporeans are all taxed at 7% of their consumption or expenditure, with no exceptions.
If we were to consider the personal income tax system, with personal reliefs, earned income relief and other reliefs, anyone earning less than $30,000 annual income would practically pay $0 income tax. But this savings in income tax has been swallowed up by the 7% GST which effectively forms the based for personal income tax of everyone, young and old, working or not working.
On paper, any Singaporean earning $20,000 pa would not be subject to any income tax. The tax for the next $10,000 taxable income is $200 at 2%. If all reliefs and deductibles are included, a person earning between $40,000 to $50,000 would be taxed $200.
If the average income of Singaporeans is $3,000 pm, it would mean 50% of Singaporeans would be paying $200 or less in income tax. Maybe 60% would be paying $200 or less. Imagine how much work and how many people are hired and paid to administer 50-60% of Singaporeans income tax submission and assessment?
Why not change the tax regime for Singaporeans earning $50,000 and below to be exempt from income tax? Why employed an army of tax personnel to monitor and collect $200 from a few of the 2m citizens? So many resources and manpower could be redeployed into more productive areas and a lot of savings in payroll. After all, with GST, the people are already paying 7% personal tax in another form, and the pool of tax payers includes children, babies and retirees with no income but paying taxes.
The other area of main concern is not to tax indiscriminately, on essential and basic items and on children, education and medical services. These can be fine tuned to tax on the selected items and services. A one size fits all idiotic approach to catch everyone with no exceptions and compassion is negligence and a lazy attitude in public administration. The fine tuning would also make it less expensive for citizens versus foreigners when foreigners are a big part of our population and workforce.
With the uncontrolled and unchallenged lust to increase GST to 9%, the need to think deeply and thoroughly on how this might affect the less able citizens becomes more important. We don't pay millions for slipshod and careless policies that are convenient to apply but indiscriminate in hurting the well beings of the citizens. If there are so many mean people that think means testing is important and necessary, this principle must also apply to indiscriminate increase in GST. Do the due diligence, put in more effort and think, use the so called million dollar brain or talent to show care for the people, especially those that would be adversely affected. Every dollar counts.
These are just a few thoughts on the need to revamp the tax regime instead of continuing the way it has been for so long. If the CPF can be changed and changed until it turns into not the people's money, for who's interest, why should not the tax regime be changed as well, to benefit the people that need to put up with it?

Foreign interference in internal affairs of a country
This has been on the lips on some politicians recently like it is a
national threat. It is a national threat when interference is against a
ruling govt but not the other way. And this hard truth is a historical
truth. The ruling govt of a country would not want another country to
interfere in what it is doing domestically or against its political
rivals or citizens.
Should any citizen of Singapore dare to go to another country’s rulers to ask them to interfere with Singapore’s politics or domestic affairs, you can imagine what hell is like. In many countries, historically, this is treason, and the person involved is called a traitor. It is an unforgiveable crime against the state and people. There could be exceptions when a country is ruled by a rogue dictator or regime when a hapless people is forced to invite foreign assistance to overthrow a ruling rogue regime. However the difference between overthrowing a rogue regime and regime change because of foreign interference by foreign power is a very thin line.
The calling of a foreign power or leader to interfere in the domestic politics is happening today in the USA! Donald Trump is facing impeachment exactly for this crime. In the transcript of his telephone conversation with Ukraine President he was quoted to have asked him to investigate the son of Joe Biden, the leading democrat candidate to stand against him. While Trump has yet to be completely discharged from the accusation of having the Russians interfering in the presidential election that led to his Presidency, he is now caught with his pants down, inviting a foreign power to meddle with the next presidential election. The Americans could not take this act of treason and are mounting an inquiry that could lead to Trump’s impeachment.
The irony is that a few weeks’ back the American Congress was seen listening intensely to a bunch of traitors from Hong Kong inviting the Americans to interfere in the affairs of Hong Kong, China. The Americans are encouraging such acts of treasons against the govt of another country but would not tolerate such similar acts in their own country.
Would Singapore support the Hong Kong activists that went begging the Americans to interfere in their domestic affairs? How would the Singapore govt deal with such acts if they were Singaporeans and not Hongkongers ?

Singaporeans, a people numbed
All the signs of an impending GE is there. The PAP MPs and ministers are starting to be seen walking around to show their faces. The electoral boundaries are under reviewed. A few opposition parties are stirring and also been seen and heard. Cheng Bock is reported today to be walking around, all 29 constituencies. But there is something amiss. Where is the buzz? Any Singaporean talking about the GE? Any Singaporean getting excited that there is another chance to make a difference or a dent in the PAP armour?
Are there issues that are closed to the hearts of the Singaporeans that they want change or want to remove? Apparently no. Singaporeans are going about their lives as if nothing is happening or nothing is going to change. The govt continues to blare about raising transport fares and GST to help the people, a few months to a GE and confidently think that these are non issues. The govt also showed its report card on the increase in population to 5.7m and the increase in foreigners becoming citizens, and increase in PRs as if this is an achievement that the people welcomed. Any reaction from the people? Nil.
There is no more political issues in Singapore that Singaporeans are interested in. Perhaps they have accepted all the changes and just moving on in their lives. The insidious CECA with the flooding of people from India becomes a new way of life. The CPF savings being held forever with withdrawal date a moving target is just part and parcel of being a Singaporean. Losing jobs to 2.5m foreigners and accepting the fate of being replaced by them is another of those things.
Life is good in Singapore. Singaporeans are barely affected by any of the above. Singaporeans are all united behind the govt and supporting the govt in everything it is doing. So no problem or issue is there to bother them? Would the opposition parties be able to set an agenda for the people to want to go with them? Would there be any issue that is dear to the hearts of the Singaporeans that they want an opposition party to fight for them in the next GE?
I am trying to put my fingers on the pulse of Singaporeans but it seems that the pulse is not there, dead, numbed or boh chap? The coming GE is looking like a non event and the PAP is likely to walk over with the 4G leaders taking over the leadership as planned.
Am I holding the hand of a Singaporean or a foreigner turned Singaporean? There are so many of them here that you don't know who is who. Turn around and everyone looks like a foreigner and also looking like a Singaporean. The foreigners turned Singaporeans are having a great time and great life here, busy chasing their dreams. The Singaporeans are busy doing what, working to make ends meet or enjoying themselves with the wealth they have accumulated over their life time with many living in million dollar HDB flats and multi million dollar private properties that can be converted into cash to fund their life styles in their retirement, or to pass down to their children that do not need to work anymore?
Where is the buzz of a GE?No buzz, no issue? This is a wonderful state of affair for the PAP, the ruling govt.

Happy DBS employees
This is a picture of the happy long service employees of DBS Bank. The best bank in the world, also honoured recently by Hsien Loong for looking after the livelihood of its employees, especially the seniors that have been affected by job disruptions. These people would not be worried about losing their jobs or livelihood in DBS to foreigners waiting to replace them.
These are the happy and younger employees of DBS Bank, in Changi Business Park, not Chennai Business Park as some like to call it. They are the future of DBS Bank. All having a great future in DBS Bank, the best employer in Singapore. Many are potential new citizens if not already citizens.9/28/2019
CECA is a national security issue
The Trump Administration can be accused of over hyping the Huawei 5G technology as a national security issue. Their main reason for objecting to using Huawei equipment is based on what if, what can be, not that it is. Of course there is the fake element of competition with China, not allowing China and Huawei to take off into the future with Huawei as the main equipment supplier and technology leader in communication technology.
The use of national security in this case could be just an excuse and also not something to be trifle with. The security of a nation should not and cannot be compromised by superficial and short term economic trickery or benefits. Here comes the question if the CECA poses an existential threat to Singapore. Singapore history and demographic make up have propel the nation to high economic growth, political stability and development befitting of a first world developed nation.
Increasingly, with the economic growth rate declining and getting higher growth rate more difficult, the Singapore govt has dropped all its guards against existential threat to grow the economy the cheap and easy way by importing all the rubbish from around the world disguising as foreign talents. This reckless and indiscriminate importing of wildlife with suspicious and unknown backgrounds, some very dangerous to our well being, without the ability to vet their security threat and political inclination is getting to a level that is ringing a bell.
Some of the minorities are increasingly getting more vocal and naked in their intolerance to the Chinese majority in the island and calling for this to change towards a level when the Chinese majority is less pronounced, maybe even become an absolute minority to appease their anger. The new citizens and even foreigners employed to work here, paid by the public and private sectors, thought it their right to question this balance and even to champion this cause.
How would Singapore be in the next few decades if the population balance is changed with the Chinese no longer the majority? Would the new majority be as kind and magnanimous as the Chinese majority today towards a Chinese minority? Or would they shut the daylight out of a Chinese minority that stupidly allowed this to happen to seal their fate as a goner minority?
How and to what extent is the CECA with its loose and over generous provisions, a one sided agreement to allow India to flood this island with its jobless citizens and change the population make up of this island? Would Singapore be happy to be more like another Indian city in the future instead of what we are today, a modern cosmopolitan society, an advanced nation of clean streets and good amenities and infrastructure?
Would the intelligence and security agencies think about this existential threat in the way the Americans are looking at their national security and warn the govt in advance that going down this reckless road of importing so many foreigners to dilute the Singaporean core is a road of no return except down and out?
How serious is CECA as an existential threat to Singapore vis a vis the rhetoric against the opposition political parties? Would Singapore survive like it is today in the next few decades going forward? What are the threats to our national security and national survival with the input of so many wildlife into our midst with dubious backgrounds, qualifications and political beliefs and interests?

October - Another financial crisis
For 5 days, the Fed was pumping US$75b per day into the American financial system to provide the liquidity that was drying up. Last night alone it pumped in US$110b. And this is more than a week of pumping the system.
The interbank lending rate has hot up to 10%, way above the 1.5% -2% that used to be the norm. The reason, the banks were afraid to lend money to other American banks for fear of bad loans, not getting their money back, insolvency. Yes, American banks are afraid to lend money to other American banks, did not trust their ability to pay back. And the Fed said it would continue to pump more money into the banking system at US$75b daily. This is another kind of QE but the reason behind this is very serious. The American banks knew that the other American banks are credit risk, not credit worthy. How's that for confidence in the American banks and how close are they edging towards another financial crisis?
Interbanking lending rate at 10% while Trump is asking the Fed to cut interest rates, even to negative interest rate! The big question, is the American economy as good as Trump was saying, the best it could be? On the other hand many analysts are saying recession is around the corner. Who is telling the truth and who is lying? The diversion in interbank interest rates and what the normal interest rate is frightening as it is telling something hideous going on behind the facade of normalcy.
The US economy is doing very well, collecting billions of tariffs. China's economy is faltering, China badly needs a trade deal. The Americans do not need and want only a good deal in their favour. Really?
No need to second guess who is right or wrong. Just watch what Fed is doing, what Trump is asking the Fed to slash interest rates and the interbank lending rate at sky high. The last two times when interbank lending rates hit this level immediately led to a recession the USA. And Trump, with all his salesman talks or lies, is panicking. How soon would it be proven that Trump has been lying through the skin of his teeth before the collapse comes?
October has always been a favourite month for such events to happen. Be careful.

Minimum sentence for anonymous criminal intimidation
The high court has just passed a ruling that ‘Those who intimidate
others anonymously and inflict severe harm in the process could find
themselves liable to at least three years’ jail if they are found to
have a high level of culpability.’ Thenewpaper reported.
In the past there was no minimum sentence but with more and more cases of anonymous intimidation over social media, this law becomes a new necessity. So you guys please do not try to intimidate anyone in social media or mobile devices.
I was intimidated by a blogger calling himself Raymond a few years back in this blog. I made a police report and warning him that he better prayed that nothing untowards would happen to me. With the police report, if harms come to me, even a freak accident, the police is likely to look for him. Now with this new law let’s hope no one would dare to be so brave to go around threatening anyone with harm.
This law is to deter those that think they are above the law or with some connections somewhere to protect them when they bully or threaten people, or with the money to pay the lawyers and the courts and the fines. The minimum sentence means jail terms, got money no money, got connection no connection, do not apply. Jail you go.

Anwar's daughter cried
"Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says a fixed period
for his resignation would make it ‘difficult for me to work.”
In an interview with BFM, a business radio channel in Malaysia, the elderly statesman says he will keep his promises to hand over power, but at the same time he needs to ensure that the country is back on its feet before handing the reins of power.
“I promised I would be interim PM. I will do so. I keep my promise.”
He says giving him a fixed timeline will make it harder for him to achieve his goals."
The above is quoted from theindependent.sg
If anyone has any doubt about what speaking in fork tongue means, read the above slowly and intensely and then ask when would Mahathir hand over power to Anwar? Would he keep to his promise to hand over in 2 years as agreed or would he sit it out until Malaysia is back on its feet. When would that be, how long would that be? When would Malaysia be back on its feet, under whose definition?
No wonder Anwar's daughter cried. Her feminine instinct could sense what was coming. She was distressed when PKR agreed to let Mahathir lead the coalition and be the PM. she was distressed to see her parents so hapless and had to make a deal with the devil that spoke in fork tongue.
Her fear is becoming real and more real as they approach the two year handover deadline. Now everyone is watching how Mahathir would wrangle his way out of his promise to stay on for the full term without breaking his promise. The latest from his party stalwart, there was no written agreement about Mahathir handing over the PM to Anwar though this was widely reported in the media when Mahathir took over as PM. The moral of the story, the Malays are no match against a slippery snake.

More proofs on the Aramco refinery attacks
The Americans and Saudis are frantically generating more proofs that the attacks on the refinery were the works of the Iranians. The latest, dud scud missile found on the site and some of the debris have Made In Iran on them. You see, the Iranians are so stupid. They wanted to conduct a sneak attack on the Saudis, they did not want the Saudis to know, they did not want the Americans and the whole world to know it was the Iranians that did it and now got caught red handed, with Made In Iran on them. The Iranians forgot to wash their hands after committing a crime! Now, are these evidence and slips by the Iranians sound familiar?
Remember the attack on the South Korean warship Choenan? The Americans also found pieces of debris with Made In North Korea scribbled on them. Of course no one believed in the American fabrication of evidence. The case was quietly closed when the South Koreans found enough evidences that it was not the work of the North Koreans. Who did it? Who murdered the South Korean soldiers in cold blood? Silence, no one wants to know till today.
Then in the chemical attack in Idlib Syria in 2017. Within an hour the Americans claimed that the Syrians did it. In the attack on the Aramco refinery, Pompeo announced that it was the Iranians that did it within an hour. After a year passed, James Matthis confessed they did not know who did it. But the whole world knew who did it except the Americans. Why? And in this Aramco case, a few days later Trump facing the media said he thought the Iranians did it but still investigating and would find out more.
What did the above said on these few incidents? False flags, wrongful accusations, deceits? The fact that they did not know anything about the attacks said a lot about the attacks. If the attacks were airborne, came from across the border, the dud scud missile that did not explode to provide evidence that it was Iranian, saying it was a cross border aerial attack, actually said the whole thing was a hoax. Cruise missiles, drones and waves of drones, but no evidence. The radars did not detect any of them. No one saw them visually or heard them flying in the sky?
What did this prove? The radars not working, unable to detect, or the Saudis sleeping, switched off their radars, or no attack from the air, from across the border? They did not see anything coming in from the air. Period. If there was no attack from the air, the radars would have picked them up if there was, then where could the attacks come from? Could the attacks be just bombs lobbed over the perimeters of the refinery by Special Forces or mercenaries residing inside Saudi Arabia, hired just to do a simple job of blowing up the refinery? No need complicated and sophisticated drones and under the radar cruise missiles? The precision in the attacks said that the attacks were likely to be launched from just nearby locations around the refinery, thus not detected by the radars, not seen or heard by anyone when the cruise missiles or drones flew by in their long journey towards their targets. Do not be surprised when no drones or cruise missiles were involved in these attacks.
What more evidence do you need to tell another story? All the evidences so far is pointing to the attacks as a premeditated inside job to put the blame on Iran, just like the sinking of the Choenan and the chemical attacks in Syria. And the perpetrators of these heinous false flag jobs are all the same, from the same country. No prizes for the right answer.

3 Rs - Repair, Reuse and Restraint
They design lifespans of products such as
smartphones and laptop computers other electrical appliances to be
artificially short, so that consumers are forced to ditch functional
products and acquire new ones.
Some devices are also designed to be difficult to repair, or with replacement parts that are tightly controlled by the company, thereby making it challenging to extend their lifespan through replacing faulty parts.
Device repair services have also become few and far between such that consumers find it easier to buy a whole new device.

The above report is about wasteful habits of affluent Singaporeans. It is also about saving mother earth, about climate change and disappearing animals from this planet. It is also about the existence of humankind while we, the supreme species on earth, charted our own course of death and destruction.
Today everyone is crazy and in heat about saving a few pieces of plastic bag when each piece of plastic bag when rolled into one is not bigger than the size of a 50c coin. Yes, it is wasteful consumption of plastic and the impact is severe when they are not properly disposed off and ended up everywhere, in the ocean, in the stomach of fish and mammals and killing them. What is the solution?
Saw a documentary by some kids in CNA proposing that instead of using one plastic bag for each item of purchase, they should put all in one big plastic bag. Just throw the fish, meat, vegetable, fruits, buns and cakes, all into on bag and save 10 bags. Brilliant ideas from the kids. But the kids at the end also knew that it was a foolish idea. But it was not worse than stupid people proposing to ban giving plastic bags to hold their purchases in supermarkets and make people buy more plastic bags to store their waste and swills for disposal. The cheap plastic bag is the most efficient piece of invention of humankind. It is how it is being used and how it is being recycled or disposed that is the problem.
But the real problem is not the use of plastic bags but consumption. The article quoted above exposed the real problem behind the survival of the human species and mother earth. It is reckless and mindless consumption for the sake of economic growth. Use and throw, buy newer ones, pulling down houses and buildings to build more houses and buildings, scrapping good working vehicles after 10 years or less to buy new ones. These are very serious and expensive wasteful behaviour of human species. But no, no one is looking at them as they make economic sense. How much energy and material are wasted compare to the use of plastic bags? Such mindless behaviours are destroying mother earth! No, just turn a blind eye and go for the good thing, economic growth. Economic growth is everything. We need economic growth to get rich and appear to be richer. Nevermind about irresponsible and meaningless increase in population. Is that all there is to living?
The most serious human indiscretion and irresponsible act to destroy mother earth is increasing human population for the sake of economic growth. How much more is being consumed by one human bean alive for 80 or 90 years? How much more destruction would be due to his existence? If human beans start to think about controlling population growth, for human beans to live better quality of life, not to produce human beans for the sake of economic growth, there would be much less destruction and threats to the existence of human civilisation and the end of the world. The main threat to the destruction of mother earth is CONSUMPTION by an ever increasing growing population. By maintaining and controlling population growth, the problems of a dying mother earth, the wide spread use and disuse of plastic bags would be more manageable without have to do crazy things and stupid things to try to solve a problem that humankind has created for itself ie economic growth through increasing population and mindless consumption.
Do we need more crazy and stupid ideas to control use of plastic bags and to control climate change? Do we need 10m population? Why do we need 10m population? How many more plastic bags would be used with 10m population when the amount used by 5.6m is already unacceptable?
Another example of saying one thing and doing another is the F1 races here, extended to 2021. Speed kills and the govt is promoting Speed thrills by spending billions of dollars on the wasteful F1 races. What does it say?

The John Bolton Sickness
The USA is the world's number one trouble maker, conducting wars and genocides everywhere, killing hundreds of millions everywhere, and still look like saints and angels in white robes by the unthinking. Understandable for the Americans as they think they are the living white gods and it is their rights to kill the coloured people. But very sad and pathetic for the coloured people aka bananas and coconuts, to be colour blind and cannot see that they are also potential victims of the
white gods, maybe not now or not personally and keep cheering when the Americans go around killing other coloured people.
They cannot see that the Americans are conducting wars genocides everywhere and that this is bad.
After viewing this clip, would you still believe that the USA and Israel are peaceful countries? Or would you still think and believe like the silly bananas and silly Asean leaders thinking that China and Russia are the aggressive and dangerous countries and Americans should be invited to be the policeman of this region?

How the West was won
"When Malaysia’s deputy
minister for international trade and industry, Ong Kian Ming, toured a
Huawei training centre in Cyberjaya this week, the vibe was more
“humdrum public relations opportunity” than it was “visit of epochal
significance in a battle of East and West”.
Followed around by an entourage of interns, the minister gamely engaged in all the classic press conference moves: making small talk with trainees, commending the Chinese company for investing in his country and waxing lyrical about the coming 5G internet revolution.
There was ample time for snacks, a chat with Huawei Malaysia CEO Michael Yuan – in Mandarin, naturally – and, of course, the obligatory photo op full of smiling faces and raised thumbs....
(Sense how sour is the above remarks by a Meaghan Tobin post in SCMP? And she continued with the real pain...)
Yet half the world away in Washington’s corridors of power, it’s hard to imagine there were anything but grimaces.
Malaysia is just the latest in a string of Southeast Asian nations to have welcomed the world’s largest telecommunications company with open arms, flying in the face of warnings from the United States that doing so will leave their most highly classified secrets vulnerable to Chinese spies....
But
in Southeast Asia, where Huawei estimates there will be 80 million
customers within the next year and US$1.2 trillion of business
opportunities over the next five years, Washington’s fears have had
little impact.
Thailand
hopes to roll out a Huawei-led 5G service by 2020 and is already
carrying out joint research with the firm in its hi-tech Sriracha
district; Singapore’s M1 service, Malaysia’s Maxis and Indonesia’s
Telkomsel have all signed up to trial services with the company; and in
the Philippines, a Huawei-backed service is to be introduced by the
leading wireless provider Globe Telecom as soon as the second quarter of
this year."
The above article in the SCMP told a story of the fear in Washington and its anti China allies of Huawei's 5G technology. To stamp China's march and charge into futuristic technology, the US is trying its damn best in the most clumsy way to strike fear across the world that Huawei is dangerous and cannot be trusted. And they kept uttering that no one trust China and would not use Huawei.
The truth is that no one is bothered by the nonsense coming out of Washington. Asia and Europe and SE Asia are embracing 5G technology without sleep. They are not going to be left behind and 5G is the only way to leap frog the Americans and the West in the game of technology competition. With 5G, Asia and SE Asia, including Europe, are going to conquer the USA and leave the Americans behind. 20 years down the road, Asia and SE Asia will be proudly telling the world how the West was won, how the Americans were left behind as a sore loser, by not willing to embrace 5G but unable to develop their own to compete with Huawei and the rest of Asia, SE Asia and interestingly Europe.
The Make America Great Again slogan is a march backward when the rest of the world are running forward. A generation down the road, scholars would be asking, who defeated the American Empire? How did the USA become a backward country?

Shameful Hong Kong activists crying to their white fathers in Washington
A few Hong Kong activists appeared in the American Congress urging
‘members of the US Congress to pass legislation to combat human rights
abuses in the city, rejecting any suggestion that such a move would be
inappropriate US involvement in another country’s affairs,’ reported by
Reuters.
According to this singer activist Denise Ho, ‘This is not a plea for so called foreign interference. This is a plea for democracy.’ Does she have a brain? Is Hong Kong a colony of the USA? Is Denise Ho a citizen of Hong Kong or a Canadian?
Another idiot, Joshua Wong, said, ‘Beijing should not have it both ways, reaping all the economic benefits of Hong Kong’s standing in the world while eradicating our sociopolitical identity.’ This is another case of stupidity has no cure. This boy is still living in the 19th Century when China was weak and poor and at the mercy of the white imperialists and colonialists. He still believes that the white imperialists and colonialists are strong enough, and China weak enough, for them to walk into Hong Kong to whip the Chinese. I can’t believe the Hongkongers believe in the silliness of these kids, thinking that Hong Kong belongs to them and the Americans and they could ask the whites to tell China what to do.
And they blamed all this to ‘the creeping interference by Beijing in Hong Kong’s affairs, despite promise of autonomy.’ And this creeping interference is due to the Extradition Bill to bring criminals to justice proposed by the Hong Kong legislature, not China. What has the Extradition Bill got to do with creeping interference by China? Who is misleading who?
An extradition bill is a normal international agreement between two administrative states to bring to justice criminals committing vicious crimes in their respective countries. If an Extradition Bill is interference in another country’s affair, then all the countries with Extradition Bills are also guilty of this allegation.
How many stupid people believe in this childish logic? Only the unthinking will think so, that an Extradition Bill on criminals is interference in another country. In legal terms, to use this as a cause is a miscarriage of justice.
The few traitors would have been executed on their return in Imperial China, but not in modern China. Hongkongers must know that the reprieve they are having, under the one country and two systems would come to an end in less than 28 years. The 50 year grace period is not to let Hong Kong to run continuously under a different system but to be gradually merged with China under one China one system. The earlier Hongkongers get this message into their heads, the earlier they adapt to the system in China the better it would be in their interest. By the end of the 50 year grace period, there will be no more one country two systems. Period. The Basic Law is only for an interim period, not to be permanent, to facilitate the gradual integration of Hong Kong into China proper, not to be totally different from China.
The reality, Hong Kong is a part of China. A tiny piece of rock cannot change the whole of China or be different from China. The protesters and those that cannot live with China when China takes over Hong Kong fully have the choice to leave Hong Kong. They can leave Hong Kong, but Hong Kong cannot leave China. 2m Hongkongers can leave Hong Kong, China. 2m Hongkongers cannot be allowed to disrupt the stability and security of 1.4b people in China.

Hong Kong is our role model is a curse
Seriously:
The Govt gorged on the religion of free market principles imported
lock stock and barrel from the US in the 2000s, and have spend almost as
many years winding back their big theoretical error ever since.
Unfortunately, for all the so called smarts they supposedly possess, for quite a number of years they used to benchmark us against HK and seemed to think that we could go down the same path as HK. At that time it wasn’t anywhere near mainstream belief to question the HK model. But I did wonder for a long time how long that ridiculous HK model of ever rising real estate costs, the ever wonderful shrinking real estate unit sizes, stagnant salaries, etc could go on without reaching a breaking point. But somehow, those politicians and GLC top management kept singing those ridiculous tunes which suggested it was a proven path we could also take.
This is a classic case of auto pilot, and monkey see and monkey do on the part of the Govt. And it shows you how independent their thoughts and actions are. And I leave you to conclude whether they are anywhere near as clever and talented as they often claim to be.
The above comments were posted in TRE. The first sentence already showed the foolishness of the so called thinkers or planners, a lack of depth in their thinking, same as Seriously said, monkey sees, monkey do, with no value add or critical thinking. A very good and sad example is the copying of the New York stock market business model, lock, stock and barrel and leading to the demise of the stock market industry. They could not see the difference between an elephant and the smallness of a pea and thought that what were good and applicable to an elephant would also be good for a pea. And now the industry is about to turn belly up.
What about Hong Kong? Is this a good role model for Singapore? Again, from their comments and the things they used to compare Hong Kong with Singapore, what were good for Hong Kong must be good for Singapore, we are going to be in deep shit.
Blindly using Hong Kong as a reference to what we should be, what we could be would be a disaster to Singaporeans. I am not talking about the mass demonstration and rioting in the streets of Hong Kong. Hong Kong has a godfather in China that we don't have. The most ludicrous thing is to think we should have the same kind of population and population density as Hong Kong, our housing prices can go higher because Hong Kong's prices are so high, we have room to grow, our housing are cheap, very cheap compares to Hong Kong and things like that. It would only lead to smaller and more expensive HDB flats.
Using Hong Kong as a model is for the unthinking. But if so called elite, supposing to be very clever people, blindly used Hong Kong as a model, intentionally or stupidly or for whatever selfish reasons, it is unforgiveable. We will all end up having sex in small places and pretend this is a good thing while the rich and elite live in their expansive landed properties that they need to use GPS to move about in their homes.
Hong Kong is successful because China allows it to be. Without China's blessing, Hong Kong will be history. In today's news, a few traitors have gone to Washington to appeal for American intervention in Hong Kong and claiming that Hong Kong's success was due to the special trade status given by the Americans. They stupidly believe the success of Hong Kong is due to their cleverness and this special status. These kids are beyond salvation. They are suffering from the Singaporean Stupidity has no cure disease.
The stupidity has no cure mindset is to compare how expensive housing or transport/taxi fare are in some countries and how to raise our property prices and transportation fare to be as high as these selected cases. They would not want to compare and bring down property prices and transport fares by comparing to those that are cheaper. They would not compare the pay of political leaders and to lower the pay of our political leaders to those that are being paid lesser. Don't ask me why.

Evil Empire is a warring state
How many of you believe the attack on Saudi Aramco oil facilities is the
act of Iran? My question is about believe, whether you believe it is
or it is not. But your belief is not important, the beliefs of the evil
Americans and the Saudis are important and good enough to attack Iran.
This is a quote from Reuters posted in thenewpaper. “‘There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!’ Mr Trump said on Twitter.”
The bold emphasis above is mine. They do not need any factual evidence, they do not need any white lies like the invasion of Iraq. Now they just need to believe and that would be good enough to kill the innocent Iranians. They did not want to believe that it was the Houthis who claimed to be responsible, a revenge counter attack against the Saudi for attacking them. The evil Americans just want to find a reason to attack Iran and any slim excuses would be better than white lies. So Iran will be attacked. The added reason, they believe the drones were from Iran.
This evil Empire is a rogue state, a warring state, everyday trying to start a war. Who suffers, the poor Arabs and the Iranians, made to fight among themselves and to buy more weapons from the Americans to kill themselves. The evil Americans would be the main beneficiary in this war.
The only hope is for Allah to be on the side of the Iranians and rain their missiles on American bases in the region and to sink the two aircraft carriers and all on board. This would be heavenly justice. May Allah and God strike at the evil Americans, the warmongers, the murderers of innocents.
Evilness is now so stark, so blatant, so forthright, so vicious, so aggressive for all to see. But there are many with eyes but cannot see. To them Americans are peace loving people, protectors of human rights, protecting peace in the world.
PS. The attacks on the Saudi oil refinery were undetected, meaning the drones were too small to show on radars. The evil Empire are spreading more lies, claiming that cruise missiles were used, but could not produce any evidence, because they have none. Just pure white lies and fabricated truths. The so called intelligence reports claimed the attacks came from Southwest Iran. If they knew, if they have seen them, they would have told the Saudis or taken action themselves. Now after everything is over, they are spreading white lies to create mischiefs so that they can attack Iran or cho cho the Saudis to attack Iran.
Lets see how smart or how stupid would the Saudis behave. Would they foolishly take the bait and start a war with Iran?

Things to ponder in this GE
Be Serious to take Action:
Where is this PAPi leading us to?
Why are we suffering like that?
Why must we be sharing away our lands to so many others? For what purpose?
Did the PM promised to make things affordable and look into the problems?
Where is this PAPi leading us into?
We do not need scholars to plans and dig into our accounts and deplete our savings?
What concrete benefits are the CECA signing?
What benefits to us for giving away billions of tax payers money to foreign students, almost 1 million a day?
Are we happier under the PAPi?
Why do we need this PAPi?
Where are we heading? What are we doing?
Deny 2/3, otherwise this country will be flooding with 10M displacing own children future.
We need to take serious action to tell them to stop it.
Print this out and bring it to the ballot box. Read this again and ask yourself, before you volt.
The above is posted as a comment in TRE to an article posted by a supervisor with a $3k income, wife doing part time job and may be losing her job, parents and a child to take care of. The supervisor was asking is the govt doing enough to lower the cost of living.
What do you think?
Here are some suggestions for the supervisor to overcome his financial drags. Be a patriotic citizen, like Trump told his bankrupt farmers, get his parents to clean tables in the food court, good income and good exercise, healthy living and no need to be a financial burden, financially independent. Forget about having a maid. Also, his daughter can stop school at O level or earlier. You do not need to get a degree to become a hawker or to become a taxi or bus driver. Can start work earlier as a food delivery girl using an Escooter. QED

Will subject based banding mean more social mixing in schools
I read somewhere in paradise the lions and the sheep will play in the same field, probably the lion will also be eating grass to survive. This kind of reality is not going to happen on earth. The sheep or smaller animals are just food for the lion. Likewise the cats and dogs, or cats and mice, would not be seen playing together. It is by nature and instinct that they would go against each other. They would be some exceptions but a unnatural thing. Or should one put the rottweilers and bull terriers with the pomeranians and chihuahuas in the same pet schools? Would that be nice?
In the Singapore context, in Singapore schools, this is called social mixing, where the rich or better off students are made to mix with the lesser rich students, the academically more inclined to mix with the academically less inclined. The idea is good, very good, very touching, very sensitive or insensitive depending on which side of the camp one is sitting. How can we let the rich live on their own turf and remain aloof and scorn at their lesser citizens? They must be made to live and mix with the lesser halves to understand them, to empathise with them and vice versa. It is unhealthy to have a school where all the children are chauffered to schools in limousines and schools with students either walk or take buses or trains to schools. This kind of stark differences in society is unhealthy and undesirable. We do not want to breed elitism, get out of my elite face!
So there is now this big movement, big disruption as they chose to call it, institutionalised social mixing in schools. There is no need for me to elaborate on all the good things that could come about in this social engineering. When one chose to just look only on the bright side, on the good side, everything is so glorious and beautiful, just like the sick mass immigration of people from the slum countries with their diseases to share with us. They have natural immunity, our greenhouse citizens did not.
This reminds me of the story when Einstein was invited to present the prize in the Miss World Contest. Miss World was so beautiful and also crowned for her intelligence in providing clever answers. She was so elated to meet Einstein in person and shared here intimate thoughts with Einstein. She told Einstein that if they were to be married, their children would be so beautiful and so smart. Einstein looked at her for a moment and thoughtfully replied. What if they turned out the other way?
The mixing of children of different social classes is nice and good and things can turn out nice and good or the way Einstein put it, the other way. Is there really a need for the rich and affluent to mix with the lesser beings to achieve a balance, or would their income or intellect eventually be averaged, with the rich getting lesser scores and the lesser rich improving their scores? The result can vary depending on the permutations, not necessarily only good.
In real life, the rich would not want to be living with the lesser beings. Why would they want to be so? If not, there would be no enclaves in district 9, 10 and 11. Socially, financially and in many ways they are incompatible. This is the reality of life. Why the pretence to force young children to mix socially when they would be living separate lives eventually according to their financial resources and blessing?
Or it is ok for the lesser beings to be forced to live with the slightly better beings while the really superior beings can continue to isolate themselves in their own pristine precincts? It is nice to mix kopi or tea with milk and get kopi susu or teh susu, but leave the champagnes alone? It is ok to bring the wildlife from the slums of the world to live with the HDB dwellers as long as the landed property residents are safe from them? And they can exchange all their bacteria and diseases in the train cabins.
This is a controversial subject and there will be the socialists that would love to level the playing field and make everyone more equal or look alike. But the elites will remain the elites and at most they would offer some lip service on such a project but would not live it out for sure. They would never change the landscape of districts 9, 10 and 11 and their privileged residents.
What do you think? Is this really a good thing? Try living with some wildlife as your neighbours for a start. Try to put your little angels and darlings in the same schools as the untouchables if you believe this is a good thing. What about dismantling the elite schools and mix their cohorts evenly with the neighbourhood schools?

Words, words, everything about words
In a recent interview with the Straits Times published on Sunday (8 Sept), Ms Teo admitted that she “should not have said” what she did. The Minister said that the ‘sex in small spaces’ comment was “meant as a private joke.”
Acknowledging that “nothing is really private anymore” as a Minister who is constantly in the public’s eye, Ms Teo said that the comment became a “lesson learnt” for her.
Calling herself a straight-talker, the ruling party parliamentarian added: “Some people don’t take very well to that. My husband is used to it, my friends are used to it, the people in my work sphere they are very used to it. It’s like that, I say (it).”
While she understands that her words are often of interest to the public since she is a politician, Ms Teo said that she reminds herself “to always take your job seriously but not take yourself too seriously.”....
“Sometimes what you say gets people excited for a variety of reasons. To say that you’re not bothered with it in the least bit cannot be the case, but you’ve got to, at some point, say, okay, let it go, and then refocus your energies back to the work.”
The above paragraphs are copied from theindependent.sg on what Josephine Teo said about sex in small places. The funny thing is that the more she tried to explain, the more funny it becomes as words taken out of context or read from a different angle can mean many different things to different people. I had a good giggle reading those words written in bold. This is good for lighter moments and private gossips in the clubs.
Wondering if you guys could feel ticklish reading them with your extra ordinary minds.
