Dumb hillbillies think they will shine brighter by blowing off candles of rivals, friends or foes

The USA, whether under Democrats or Republicans has always been about looking after its own interest economically and militarily and using others to further its interest. There is nothing that the USA will do to allow any country to progress or be better than the USA. But the stupidity of some countries cannot be cured even in the face of what they already saw.

Germany was doing better and manufacturing better products than the USA, leveraging on cheaper Soviet/Russian energy since 1955, and had to be reined in, thus making Germany behave like a leashed dog. The French were also doing fine, but in certain sectors were overwhelming the USA. We all remember the Alstom fiasco and the USA coming down hard on Alstom to curtail its innovation.

Japan was and is another doggie being restrained by the USA, using all kinds of vile tactics to keep Japan down and out. Toshiba was making stuff that were way better and ahead of the USA companies and was prevented from further innovation after being punished by the USA for being better. Of course, fabricating an excuse to do it was necessary and always the modus operandi of the USA.

Huawei is another company that was too competitive and innovative, and the USA and the West tried to kill it. It did not succeed because China made sure that Huawei will keep holding the Chinese flag high. Today, Huawei is stronger than before, now even making top end luxury electric vehicles like the Maextro S800 Ultra luxury sedan, that is making other luxury Western car makers sit up. Xiaomi is already quite well known for its SU7 Ultra model electric car as well and the West could not imagine Chinese phone makers making cars that are now entering the global car market, making even luxury car makers in USA and Europe nervous, just like luxury bag sellers of the West, and giving them lose sleep.
