The Americans are already crowing about how they forcefully wrestled TikTok from China. Is this true? Did Xi lose his balls to let the Americans steal this crown jewel from China?
Losing TikTok to the American gangsters is not just losing some money or technology. It is losing China's pride and dignity as a sovereign nation state, as a superpower. How can China lose its top app just because the Americans use force to demand for it? This is not a business negotiation. This is political. This is thuggery, gangsterism. Only a sick cat would not be able to defend its own properties and let it be snatched away by the American gangsters. It is a reminder of the days of Unequal Treaties, the century of humiliation.
Is Xi going to let China to be humiliated again by Trump? The Americans would all be screaming victory over China if this goes through and there will be jeering and snipe remarks against a weak China, against Xi for losing TikTok.

Xi can let Trump ban TikTok in America and watch the rioting in the streets by TikTok users. Many depends on TikTik as a source of income, a job, advertising their business and products.
At worst, the TikTok users can migrate to little RedNote or other Chinese apps.
China must not cave in. It is a bad sign to do so. Admitting defeat. Who needs TikTok more, China or US? Bytedance may lose some revenue. But a few million Americans live will be ruined, no job, no income for the families.
In other words, best case scenario is pull out Tik Tok from the USA altogether. Keeping it is in for further trouble if the USA continues to raise demands over how it is to be run. If it is highly censored, no point keeping it either.
Anyway, the deal is not done yet, just Trump talking to himself and building castles in the air.

Selling TikTok is not the end of the story. Americans' aim is to bring down China, destroy China. After TikTok there will be endless more TikTok for the Americans to pressure China. Xi should not think that this will be the end.
The fight with the Americans is unending until China collapses or the American collapses. It is better to hold on to TikTok and let it blow up in Trump's face instead of letting Trump calling it another big win over Xi.
It is just an app, one of many that China trotted out. Banning Huawei did not collapse the company, neither does it collapse or destroy China. It takes more than banning this and that to collapse or destroy China. Five thousand years of civilization experiencing with foreign insurrection and civil wars did not broke China up. China cannot be so easily destroyed with just a few threats. And suffice to say, China can just retaliate against, for example, Nvidia as it is doing now. Google was on the Chinese radar, but Nvidia is now the target. And any USA business in China can be singled out for retaliation. After all, National Security reasons is a very wide ground to play with.
As I say, what is sauce for the goose is also sauce for the gander. China is no small mickey mouse to be easily rattled, and it can make a difference with its retaliation like agriculture, rare earth and market access.
