Reports have surfaced that some Indian oil refineries
are now not buying Russian sea-borne crude oil. This is good news for
China, if Russia sells more to China and at even bigger discounts.
The
USA is exerting pressure on India, realizing the potential of India
buying oil from them instead, like Europe, but of course at much higher
prices. Indian oil refineries are cutting their noses to spite their
faces. The more serious hidden unsaid problem is that Indian oil sold to
Europe will be far more expensive going forward. The world is so
interconnected that action against one party is going to affect a lot of
others.
India is already not happy with Russia for insisting
that such oil and military hardware be paid in Yuan instead of Rupees,
which Russia does not want for the reason that it is useless to keep.
India does not export much to Russia, unlike China, so those Rupees are
just unusable for Russia. Russia needs money generated to support its
military buildup, and China is able to provide the raw essentials for
Russia and the Yuan is useful for Russia in its trade with China.
Russian oil sold to China need not have to be sea-borne and under
sanction by the USA and Europe and is therefore much cheaper through
pipelines just across the border.
India is perceptively moving
closer to the USA and everyone is clearly not in favour of India
remaining in BRICS. It is turning into a Western' Trojan Horse' inside
BRICS, whose aim is sabotaging the agenda of BRICS's expansion. This has
been demonstrated already. India thinks it is the power broker inside
BRICS. It is not. Russia and China are the real important digits in
BRICS.
Many are of the opinion that India should be expelled
from BRICS. But any action to expel India by the group is bound to
create a huge opportunistic outcry of the collapse of BRICS, especially
among the Anglo-Saxon West. Therefore, expelling India from BRICS is not
on the cards nor imminent. Instead, sidelining and stifling India until
it cannot make any more moves inside BRICS is the right way to get rid
of India.

I believe India still owes a ton of money to Russia for weapons, which India wanted to pay in Rupees but rejected by Russia. This is interesting as Indian refiners are said to be refusing to buy Russia crude, which would have to be paid in Yuan. If I were Putin, I would take this development as a blessing in disguise, or good riddance.
Putin SMART smart as too much oil to India and had too much rupees and later drop value lose a lot.
As India's don't have much reciprocal trade with Russia.
Whereas China and Russia both traded much equally and payment in yuan back to China offset Russia potential risks if currency also lose value.
That's why Russia insisted Chinese Yuan as then can also settled with China easily.
So India felt sighted that their rupees lost prestige to yuan.
So now had to instigate the daft Filipinos to provoke China

The Indians would not pay more for anything when they can buy it cheaply. Never expect the Indians would pay more for American oil when they can buy cheap Russian oil.

Anon 9.19 you have a point. Could be Russia refusing to sell since payment is not forthcoming, but the Western Media put it in such a way that Russia is at the receiving end with Indian refiners not buying Russian oil. I too find it illogical when they are making tons of money reselling that oil to the EU countries.
The BJP and Modi is in trouble over the 'Electoral Bond' issue created in 2017. Only just recently the Supreme Court of India gave judgement, after realising that it was the biggest scam in India's history as pointed out by Dhruv Rathee on his website. Many Indian bloggers are also digging into the scam and putting up videos on the issue.
But Modi may not be too worried about all the expose as he is ruling India like a dictator today, arresting credible opposition leaders with trump up charges. After all, most Indian voters are completely ignorant about this scam set up to favour the BJP and enabled the Modi Government to go after donors that did not donate to the BJP, using tax evasion and the like to cripple them.
