In praise of LKY – The table turns

Singaporeans mourned LKY for one whole week and listened to praises of him for the same whole week as well. The glory and achievements of LKY and his PAP must be music to the ears of the govt and supporters of PAP. Many were saying that these were good news and would be in PAP’s favour in the GE. Some were asking for a GE to be held quickly to capitalize on the goodwill, good perception and good emotions generated by the week of mourning and media blitz, In praise of LKY.

It is barely a month and in normal circumstances the goodwill and sympathy should last much longer and still be in time to give the PAP a lift in the next GE. What had happened over the last few weeks has instead turned the table against the PAP. The sentiments, in the social media, do not bode well for the PAP. One week of praising LKY is turning into weeks of kpkb against Hsien Loong’s leadership. Ok, this is not happening in the main media and may not be cause for undue alarm. Just read the few comments here that I reposted from a post in the TRE written by a Phillip Ang titled, ‘PM’s May Day speech shows he cares not for SG workers’.

There are more than 40 comments to this thread that were generally very negative about Hsien Loong. Fortunately this is likely to be a minority view in the social media and would not affect the votes much in the GE. If such negativity is prevalent among the people, the next GE would be a tough time for Hsien Loong and his PAP. Just ignore this as noise from the lunatic fringe.

The majority of the people is still positive about Hsien Loong’s leadership and will vote for the PAP. This is the view from the other side of the coin.

Dear Phillip,
Please forgive L*L He is, as we all now know, a complete washed-out, an idiot who is totally incapable of taking the country forward and has to rely on self-praise and his dead father’s achievement, if any, to win votes.

It is better for him to step aside and for the Lee family to be consigned to the dustbin of history. This nation needs to change underlying socio-economic-political framework to ensure Mr. Tharman’s “new normal” is a good quality and prosperous normal.A man who keeps harping back to the father has an Oedipus complex, his inner conflicts comes out in more than his fair share of the Freudian slip. Such a man cannot be counted upon to lead this nation – it is even dangerous to leave him still in charge.

The problem we are now facing is not only that he has not care for workers.
There are so many issues arising since he came on board.
Sigh…. as time goes by….everybody will know this will be the ultimate outcome if you came to power not by meritocracy but because your father put you in that position. No more hiding once your father is gone. Maybe this coming GE (without the old man)is really a real fight unlike previous walkover.
Singaporeans will have a hard lesson learnt if they do not put in their brain and heart to exercise their due diligence to chose a capable leader. Choosing someone that really understand the ground and desire to serve Singapore just like the old gen leaders irregardless of party affiliation.
Maybe many years from now, we may also find out the truth on what is really the agenda behind those that were locked behind bars without trial. Are these men fighting for their own interest or for the better good of Singapore?

All that goondu Loong has said isn’t wrong, the only thing that is up for debate is whether PAP are still the ones to bring the country forward and keep it going.
Going by what we have seen in this election cycle alone, PAP can’t even keep its statutory boards straight let alone bringing the country forward and keeping it going.

GOOD, INDULGING IN SELF-PRAISE tells us he is weak and vulnerable. He is worried sick about the possible annihilation of his Ministers in the GRCs wipe out in the next election.
AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE SHOULD STRIVE FOR – knock out as many Ministers in GRCs as possible in the next GE and reduce PAP into a minority in Parliament even if it is still the largest single party.
He will then have to negotiate with opposition parties from a position of begging weakness and submission.

Today you talk talk we don’t understand. First, why you still insist on flooding our Island home with more outsiders? Second, why so many incidents happening but you and your team could not protect your citizens from insults and abuses? Third, more and more PMETs are unemployed despite having multiple real degrees (not fake) but you still welcome outsiders of funny background and take away citizen jobs. Hopefully you look at these before you ask citizen workers to work harder because we are already the most hard-working workers in the world – love bfear working hours and our salaries are peanuts compared with you and your team-members.

Singaporeans are having hard time now not because of just the Incompetence of the Chief Monkey.

It is because the Other Monkeys adore the Monkey Chiefs blibdly for too long.

The Sinkies deserve the decline and decay befalling them. In some ways, they see it coming and yet accepted the decisions of the Monkey Chiefs over all these years.

Tiok. And the bad things under PM Lee has been happening even well before 2011, and perhaps even worse than now. Yet 60% still voted PAP in GE 2011.

That's why I strongly agree with WP Teochew Ah Hia that the Sinkie opposition not being ready to be the govt is the one, and perhaps the only one, reason for why 60% still voted PAP last GE.

With that I think PAP will win again next GE, and maybe with more votes, since although still bad, PAP have improved a bit since GE 2011.

What do u think?

Please throw that broken record away lah.

Broken record no doubt, but that's how PAP wins. And that's what really matters.

So throw or don't throw broken record, does it matter?

The PM's job is to run the cuntry, not to give workers or any other entitled groups handjobs so that they can feel "loved", lest they all suffer emotional breakdowns and start crying like little babies.

Wahlau! These so-called "adults" got such fragile feelings ah?

They must be living tormented lives ❗️❗️

No! No! No!

In my opinion, PAP and LHL are
least worry about the kpkb in the
social media arena.

Very often those who kpkb will
only kpkb and more kpkb, but when
come to voting, their decisions
can be very different.

As I said before, since 2011, PAP
is very active/busy organising
activities at every corners of
the island.

PAP is turning everyday into a PAP day!

Everywhere you go, it is PAP!

How not to win BIG BIG in the
coming GE?!

We shall see.

It seems the PAP is vigorously giving away broken records to be played on social media.

When is GE?

Of course not. The people are ALWAYS going to get the government they DESERVE, and the destiny of their nation will be well deserved.

The govt voted in by GE could be the post-LKY PAP, or it could be something else. Whatever the case, they are going to deserve the folly and consequences of their choice!

The real truth is any gov in this world has been working with the bankers for many centuries in screwing their people (the mass population) over and over again. Things have not changed, all are working to enrich themselves. We are all humans, we are all selfish and greedy and the difference is the intensity. Still think they are there for the people? still trust the gov will make your life better?

Typical of RB to pour scorn on the good work LHL and the PAP team are doing for Singapore. What to expect from a blow hot blow cold blogger? He is always looking at the negative side of things. He has never written a good word for the good and successful jobs done by the fantastic PAP team. Come GE, it will be more than 60%, just you wait and see.

Anonymous said...

I agree.
With PM Lee's forthcoming leadership renewal (But LHL still remaining the Leader), PAP will be unbeatable.
I predict 100% of the votes going to PAP.

I have a strong gut feeling that the WP MPs, including even Teochew Ah Hia, will eventually be charged in court, duly convicted and later disqualified from contesting next GE over those "messy" AHPETC financial accounts.

And also Hougang and Punggol East SMCs disappeared by merging into GRCs for the next GE.

And with that I predict PAP will make a clean sweep by winning all seats contested in next GE.

What do u think of my prediction?

I think you are right 8.15pm. I hope you are right. PAP will win 100%. I do not really mind not getting my CPF at 55. No need, already made financial plans to have a good comfortable life. All children are well taken care of, all uni qualified and happy to have PAP as the ruling government.

Men proposed, God deposed.

You can have the best plans but plans can go the wrong directions.

This is what the 60 plus percent Singaporean PAP voters who are in the comfy zones ideas.

They do not care a hoot of their lesser well off, less fortunate fellow citizens.

Every men for themselves even after 50 years of so called Nation building and National Service.
Till fortunes changes and they played the reverse roles.

Then we shall see you still vote the PAP.

The Real Singapore Political Commentator said...

Since 1959 till now, PAP has been the BEST and is still the BEST. There is no other political that can even smell a little bit of futts from the PAP.

Look at WP. People gave 2 SMCs and 1 GRC to them. And what had happened. Can't even get their acts together with simple thing such as accounting, estate management and collecting of conservancies fees. Financially, it is going to go bankrupt. Yet their Car Parks are the only Ones in Singapore that are so very stingy to give a 10 Minutes Grace. Every single minute - just go in to unload goods and come out within 10 minute also must pay. Champion for the Workers, for the Poor? My big fat foot!

Look at SDP. After achieving a few seats in Parliament under Chiam, now it is like in a Limbo, with its leadership trying very hard to breath some fresh air, with the graciousness and compassionate allowance of Emeritus Goh and our Late First Prime Minister Lee. Yet still not grateful and behave like a kay poh trying to act smart here and there. And cannot keep the good quality people like Dr Ang Yong Guan and Tan Jee Say inside SDP. And they had to leave to form a new political party (Singaporeans First Party - SFP).

Look at NSP. Can't even get its newsletter off the ground. Simple thing such as fulfilling the necessary requirements of the government, also cannot do. How to win elections?

Look at Reform Party. It is a joke. Again like father like son. A OMO - One-Man-Operation. Trying very hard to make some noise here and there but still can't mingle with the populace. How to mix with locals if cannot speak Singlish but only speak rotten-potatoes lingo?

Look at the SDA. It is as good as dead, though started with a BIG ambition to bring all alternative political parties under one Umbrella to counter the PAP. With the NSP and SPP (its leading party) having left this Alliance, it is as good as a Goner. A total Failure!

Look at SPP. With Chiam being so old and fragile in health, movement and even difficulty in speech, and with Potong Pasir gone, how can it be able to hope to win any seat again. Since Lena Chaim took over from her Husband the seat in Potong Pasir, it has become a Family Affair. How is it for the morale of those who have been working diligently and painstakingly for long years for the party? If they can't even look after their own members, how can they make the people of Potong Pasir believe that they can look after them?

Look at the newest party, the SingFirst Party. Newly formed only this year in February. Now walking about here and walking about there to try to impress people. Trying very hard no doubt, but it is still very very weak. Only two men therein are of some substance. The rest are yet to be seen or tested.

The other parties? Too insignificant to talk about. So I just shut on them.

Conclusion: Next GE, may be round the corner only, PAP will WIN WIN WIN ....... hands down!

No Ministers will be lost at all. All will be guaranteed to continue to collect their Millions of Dollars pocket money every year. They can safely continue to go and buy up more properties locally as well as in India, China and USA. They can also continue to buy a few Fararis for their Children and grand children. What a wonderful good life. I am happy for them.

Daft Sinkies, too bad for you. You will, I know very well, continue to be daft, and even more dafter. You will vote PAP, right?

Anybody wants to disagree? At my pleasure.

Anonymous said...

I also agree. Actually no need talk so much. When I look at PM's Dream Team for the future I laugh until peng. So impressive.

Opposition sure no chance. This time PAP will have a clean sweep.

PAP wan sui, wan sui.

PAP got my vote for the future.

Agree 101%.

The FRAGMENTED OPPOSITION PARTIES stand NO CHANCE against the WELL LOVE
PEOPLES ACTION PARTY.

Singaporeans love PAP.
