The American dream used to be the dream of everyone around the world. Is this still so? Yes, to many poor Global South countries, to live like the Americans today is still their dream when they are living in squatters and slums. To the Americans, especially the young that missed out on the golden years of the American Empire, the American dream is crumbling. Many have fallen to the roadside, homelessness and joblessness, drug addiction, gun violence are the norms in America, and a rogue regime that is more interested in starting wars and fighting wars, spending trillions in these destructive activities, and totally ignoring the plight of the average Americans, leaving infrastructures to age and wear away. The gleaming skyscrapers of the past, the bright sparkling infrastructures and everything are no longer there. Towns vacated, turning into ghost towns when factories closed shop and people moved on.
The rogue Washington regime did not care. The best they do is to lie to the Americans that all is well, they are still having the good life. But lies cannot go on and on in this internet interconnected world. The contrast between a dying and decaying America and the glowing and super modern cities are startling.
The Chinese are living their Chinese dreams like the Americans in their golden years. While the Americans were using their resources to bring down China, finding troubles and creating troubles for China with their best mind, instead of productive activities, the best Chinese minds are in science and technology, innovation and creativity, to produce the best things the Chinese need and the world needs for modern living.
Yes, the Chinese have many problems according to the fake American narratives and Americans have no problems, with the most serious in having a bunch of nitwits and creeps running the show. But many of the Chinese problems are happy problems, the problems that many countries would love to have. Many Chinese have graduated from the working class to the retiring class to enjoy their golden years, doing nothing but amusing themselves with travelling, dancing on the streets and enjoying their lives. Many Chinese are not living from paycheck to paycheck. They retire early and no longer need to look forward to paychecks to get by. The country takes good care of them.
The western narratives were so happy to condemn the joblessness of Chinese youth. They did not know that 'lying flat' ie not getting a job, is a privilege of a growing and prospering Chinese economy, a side show of the Chinese dream. The youth can take time off doing nothing, not working, as their families are well off and could afford their chosen lifestyle, to take off for a few years. This is a phenomenon affecting only a small number of the rich kids, the rich second generations. The crumbling American economy and dream cannot afford this for the Americans. Not even in Singapore.
The Americans cannot afford not to have a job or they will be homeless and sleeping on the streets. And that is not all, they need two jobs just to make ends meet. Some even need three jobs. What kind of life is that, what is the quality of life when working is a dire necessity just to live?
Overcapacity is another big advantage of the Chinese dream. They can afford to have all the nice things in life for a pittance. Good food, good housing and good apparels without have to stinge and cringe. Housing problems are also a happy problem. How many countries have so much excessive housing for their own people? Or how many countries have housing shortages, people without homes, cannot afford to buy homes, cannot afford to pay for a roof over their heads...in America? Chinese housing problem is overcapacity, overbuilding. Though this led to a strain in the economy and affected financial management, it is a temporary structural problem. The houses would be occupied eventually, and no homelessness, still with a lot of housing to spare.
The Chinese dream is about a good and affordable life, with good food and daily convenience without having to work on two or three jobs, without having to live from paycheck to paycheck and tightening the belt everyday. The Chinese have never had it so good in the quality of life today, and are looking forward to even better days ahead. This is the game changer, a better tomorrow.
What about the Americans and their dreams? The so called richest country in the world with all the self inflicted problems due to mismanagement and neglect and a very irresponsible bunch of rogues in Washington that care about nothing other than wanting to start a fight, wanting to bring down other countries, forgetting that their own country is going down and the lives of their people are getting more miserable by the day. No country is threatening America. It is the Washington rogues that are threatening everyone just to prove that they are gangsters and savages, they can bully the whole world to do their bidding.
The Chinese govt puts the well being of their people as their top priority, that is the Chinese dream. Live well and live in peace, safe and in security. The American rogue regime has forgotten about the American dream but about wars and committing genocides, killing people all over the world, destabilising countries and destroying the lives of other people. These are their priorities, not about making the lives of the Americans better, only in lip service and in their lies.
