Elected Presidency – Another worm just crawl out of the can

Read this comment from TRE by a Dinners are just Dinners.

October 11, 2016 at 8:57 pm  Dinners are just dinners(Quote)

Latest is that for the new EP rules there will only be 3 racial categories instead of the usual 4 based on C-M-I-O. Those classified as Others will be lumped together with Indians.

How does this work? ‘Indian and Other’ category: If there is no Indian or Eurasian President after the late S R Nathan (Term 1999-2011) for the next 4 EP terms, the Indians and Eurasians will be guaranteed a contest among themselves. Could be I-vs-I, or I-vs-E or E-vs-E. Likely I-vs-I mostly.

This is somehow ridiculous. How does being Eurasian Singaporean or European Singaporean or Arab Singaporean suddenly – by a stroke of a pen – mean they should be classifiable in the same category as Indians now called ‘Indian/Others’?

How can you just lump them all together in the same category??
This is all political convenience, and has nothing to do with respecting Eurasians or ‘Others’

I really do not know whose clever idea is this. Now the Eurasians are going to create a storm. What about us? Why are we now part of the Indian category? We have had Benjamin Sheares and hoping and waiting for the next Eurasian to be the EP. This is going to be near impossible with this change and the lumping of Eurasians together with the Indians is as good as saying no more Eurasian EP. Is this fair to the Eurasian community? Don’t ask me, I am not Eurasian and I cannot claim to empathise with their feelings and emotions even if I said I understand their plight. Only the Eurasians would know and feel slighted or do not mind. No freaks non Eurasian can speak up on their behalf.

Should the govt use the ‘going to be created committee’ to decide on this? Or should a COI be instituted to study on the feelings of the Eurasians?

I think the Indians would not be unhappy as there are many talented Indians in high places that would easily win an EP election hands down and there could actually be Indian EPs one after another. Would that prompt a call by the Chinese majority to call for a special EP election just for a Chinese to be represented as the EP after 30 years when no Chinese is elected?  Are the new changes going to provide for this too, that if after a lapse of 30 years and no Chinese EP has been elected, then the majority Chinese also will get a second chance?

I have to stray away from the feelings and emotions of the Indians for having to accept the Eurasian/Others as part of their category as I have full confidence that many Indians would be elected to be EP by the silly ‘racist’ Chinese.  Oh, while on this subject, are children of part Indian and part Chinese or part Europeans or Others be classified as Indians and thus counted as Indian EP? The Indians have no fear and would not need to have to depend on this special clause to protect minority rights. It is the Eurasians that may be compromised together with the rest of the minorities lumped under Others.

I also worry for the Chinese majority that there could be a time when no Chinese would be elected over a long period as I don’t believe the Chinese are racist. They have proven many times, over the years, to happily and willingly vote for minorities to represent them. Now so many Chinese are even asking for Tharman to be PM.

So let’s forget and ignore the Chinese are racist myth until proven otherwise. Just watch what would happen if it is true that Eurasians/Others would be lumped together with the Indians and how this worm would crawl all over the place.

Any MP want to ask questions in Parliament but has no idea what to ask may ask if this is true and how it would affect the feelings of the Eurasians?

Duterte has opened the eyes of the Pinoys

The Philippines did not gain anything from being the running dog of the American Empire. The Philippines paid the price of compromising its sovereignty with American bases and soldiers in the country. The Philippines have to sign military alliances and conduct war games, joint patrols, to provoke another country, risking wars for its people. What did the Philippines gain, one antique warship destined for the museum?

What did the Americans gain, a foothold in Asian for their soldiers, weapons and military installations to maintain military supremacy and world hegemony at little cost and at the expense of the Philippines.

The big question is who needs who more? Is China going to invade the Philippines? Bull.  It is the Americans that benefited for harping the fear and from the arrangement, with the Philippines as their running dog, to bolster the pivot to Asia, for the sake of the Empire.

Should not the Philippines be demanding for a ransom for hosting the military bases and risking a war with China? How much value is the Philippines’ contribution to the American Empire and how much the Philippines are losing for becoming an American military base, the first target to be hit if war broke out between China and the USA?

Finally Duterte has opened the eyes of the Pinoys and the raw deal they are in. They have been taken for a ride. Nobody is going to attack the Philippines. Why become a stooge of the Americans for the reward of a few museum pieces?

Independence is priceless. Why should the Philippines compromise its independence to become a military base for the American Empire? Why?

This applies to the other Asian and Asean states. The Japanese and South Koreans have no choice. They are semi colonies of the Empire. The Americans are in control militarily and would not leave. They are the frontline states of the Empire, the first to be attacked and the first to be destroyed, with all the military bases as prime targets.

The Philippines had chased the American colonialists out of their country before. Why would the Philippines, so proud of their independence, now so willing to be a semi colony of the American Empire again?

What about the other Asian and Asean states? Why are they providing bases to the Americans and barking for the Americans without extracting a heavy price from the Americans? It is the Americans that are desperately in need of military bases here to maintain their military supremacy, to project their military power. The Americans should pay a heavy price for the privilege of stationing their soldiers and weapons in another country, compromising their national security and independence, not the other way.  The Asian and Asean countries should not be so stupid not to know the value of their compromising act, to allow foreign troops on their territories. But many stupidly believe that they would be invaded and must invite the Americans into their soil. Ask the neighbouring countries of China if they have been invaded by China?

The only Asian country that is suffering from this delusion is India, everyday worrying about a Chinese invasion. What a joke! For the rest of independent Asian and Asean countries, why become cronies of the Empire when they could stand tall as independent nations? However, stupidity has no cure. Some of the stupids are worrying about being invaded by China and North Korea.

Christopher Columbus Brutal Carnage Against Native Americans. PART 1

Christopher Columbus And His Brutal Carnage Against Native Americans.          PART   1

In the West Christopher Columbus is worshipped as a hero, a founder of the New World, the Americas and is celebrated as such every year on 12th October, the day he first landed on the islands of Bahamas.

On the other hand every year on this date, the natives of Americas remember 1492 as a fateful year when Columbus and the Europeans started their criminal carnage and wholesale genocide of native Americans. Every year on 12th October, the natives all over America will revile Columbus as the most hated villain, killer, murderer and genocider of the natives and condemn him as such. Every year on this date the natives of Bahamas and all over Americas will burn effigies of Columbus, Hernando Cortes and Pizarro of Spain, Richard Grenville, Captain John Mason and John Winthrob of England  and condemn and denounce him and all the white men with no uncertain terms and wish God would punish all white men for their most merciless and brutal killings and murder of native Americans throughout all the years from 12th October, 1492 to the present time.

What is most outrageous is that, white men in order to cover up and white wash away the plunder, killings and murders of Columbus and other savage European adventurers would in their history books in schools portray beautifully their heroic  adventures and mention nothing about the bloodshed committed by them. On the other hand Columbus Day, 12th October is a day for Celebration by white men throughout all America and in all schools.

The Western brutality and carnage on non-Christian countries had its roots in the mutual brutal life and death struggle between the European Crusades and the Arab muslim jihadists in the Dark Ages of 1095 - 1297. The Europeans evolved victorious in this historical struggle and they soon expanded their evil wars of aggression against all other non - Christian countries in the name of Jesus Christ.

These crimes of inhumanity were expanded to the New World of North and South America. The crimes of inhumanity against the defenseless natives of Americas knew no bounds. It all started with the pirate Christopher Columbus who having stolen some maps of the new continents from Admiral Zhenghe in one of the ports in Arabia was soon able to sail to the Americas.

Columbus journeys to the West blazed the trail for competing Europeans like the British, France, Spain, Portugal and Holland to set sails in their journeys of plunder, looting, murder and endless genocides of natives all over the globe in the Americas, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

All the European expeditions to Americas and other parts of the world were financed by the governments and the Church in which the Pope had great power. The objectives of these expeditions were not just only to grab lands but also to grab all the gold, silver and spices of the new found lands.

When Columbus and later other Europeans first set foot on the shores of America, the natives came to greet them and with much remarkable hospitality provide them with food and lodgings contrasting with the greed and frenzy of wealth and riches of the Renaissance of Europe dominated by the governments and the religion of the popes which was the benchmark of Western Civilization.

Columbus, the first of these savage European hordes responded the goodwill of the natives with threats and murder. When he first landed on Bahamas on October 12th, 1492 in the Caribbean Sea, the native Arawaks welcomed them friendily. He saw the natives wearing tiny gold ornaments in their ears and neck. Columbus then took some of the Arawaks to his ship as prisoners and insisted that they guide him to the source of the gold. Columbus proceeded to Haiti, Cuba and Hispaniola where a local Indian chief presented him with a gold mask. This led to wild visions of gold fields in the New World.

The robbing, plundering, killing and murders by Columbus in Bahamas, Haiti and Hispaniola greatly influenced and excited the Spaniards, Portuguese, the British and the Dutch. What evil things Columbus did to the Arawaks of the Bahamas, the Spaniards Hernando Cortes did to the Aztecs of Mexico and Pizarro to the Incas of Peru and the British Puritans Richard Grenville, Captain John Mason and John Winthrob to the Powhatans and the Pequots of Virginia and Massachusetts in 1585.

The Spaniards, the Portuguese and the British exceeded each other in their relentless quests for new territories, gold and slaves and exceeded each other in cruelty and killings of the native Americans.

The white men's penchant for ruthless aggressions and conquests and killings is closely tied to their political cum religious doctrines. This insidious religious doctrine is extremely harmful for they justified all their evil actions in the name of their God, Jesus Christ. These barbaric white men appealed to the Bible under Psalms 2:8 - Chapter 2 verse 8:  " Ask of me, and I shall give thee, the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession."  They justified their use of force to take non-Christian lands and cited Romans 13:2, Chapter 13, Verse 2: "Whosoever thertegote resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God, and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation."

USA in line with this evil doctrine is continuing non stop in its aggression against other countries.

When will this Western brutality and carnage on non-Christian countries come to an end. Will the rest of the non-Christian world be able to unite and cooperate to stop white men from their killing tracks and brutal rampage.
Next artiicle Part  2 will show some details of the savage greed and uncontrolled brutal carnage by white men on the natives of America.

Malaysia arrested 14 would be ISIS terrorists

Malaysia, what are you doing? Why arresting terrorists when the Americans are supporting them? Do you know who is the mother of ISIS? Her name is Hillary. This is open secret.

And what do you think the Americans are doing in Iraq and Syria? They have been sleeping with the ISIS and feeding them with supplies and weapons to keep fighting and killing everyone there.

And when the Russians bombed the daylight out of the ISIS terrorists, what do you think the Americans did? They shot down the Russian bombers and bombed the Syrian armies fighting the ISIS.

So, Malaysia, still want to arrest ISIS? You may be offending the Americans and Hillary for arresting her babies. On the other hand, I think it is the right thing to do. Just be careful who would be feeding the ISIS terrorists to bomb parts of Malaysia and create havoc in the country.

Who would love to turn Malaysia into another Syria?

EP - A nightmare in the making

While the reality of a minority president made possible by tweaking the system is just a matter of time, regardless of meritocracy, did the govt understand the complexity and difficulties in administrating this minority issue?

There are many questions to ask like what or who qualifies as a minority candidate and who should be the ultimate authority to decide if the candidate qualifies. In the case of the Malays, what organization should be the authority, the high court, the registry of birth, the ICA that issued the IC, or the MUIS? The Malay community would have their own definition and reservation on who should represent them as their minority candidate. A Chinese, an Indonesian or a Pinoy, non Malay Muslim or a mixed parentage child could register at birth as a Malay. Would that be acceptable to the Malay community?

The Indian community too would want a say as to who qualifies as an Indian. The complications come not just because of mixed parentage but there will be the Sri Lankans, the Pakistanis and many others.

And what about the Eurasians? The earlier formula is a mixed parentage of Asians and Europeans. What about Europeans and Europeans, or mixed Asians that were neither CMI but Pinoys, Myanmese, Indons, Viets etc etc? Would they be classified as Eurasians, as Others?

What would happen when a candidate is being challenged to represent a minority race, and the racial group refused to recognize the minority candidate as their rightful representative?

Would the MPs be raising such issues in Parliament to clarify what is a minority, what is a Malay, what is an Indian, an Eurasian/Others? Who would be the authority to decide on such issues and complaints?

In today’s msm it is stated that the govt would set up a committee to decide who would qualify as a minority candidate. Would there be a clarification or a definition to determine this minority candidate? Would the minorities accept such a committee to be the ultimate authority on such matters? How would the identity of a candidate reflected in the birth certificate or IC affect the status and qualification as a minority candidate? Are these identification of any value or still subject to dispute and can be overruled by such a committee?

Administrating this minority issue is going to be a nightmare or an avenue for racial discontent for sure.

Enough of western myth

They are still spreading it like wild fire and many Asia leaders and so called intellectuals and analysts are lapping it up like honey without thinking what the stuff is. I am talking about the myth that China is going to start a war with the USA, and underlining this silly myth is the assumption that the Chinese are stupid and did not know that such a war would invite the termination of the Chinese civilization by the American nuclear arsenal that have enough nuclear warheads to wipe out China hundreds of times over. How would supposedly thinking and clever people be blinded by this dastard truth, that any country, including Russia and China, would court self annihilation in a nuclear war with the Americans and any sensible leader would avoid a war with the Americans at all cost, unless being forced to do so?

Nevermind, the myth has been spoken too long and is now part of the psyche of the unthinking Asian leaders, intellectuals and so called analysts. They forgot that the Chinese too have common sense, the North Koreans too, that they would not invite total disaster to their country and people by having a war with the Americans. But the simpleton leaders and pseudo intellects and analysts would be harping at this silly notion till the cow comes home.

China would want to replace the Americans as the world hegemon or at least the Asian hegemon, and China would do so to attack American military forces, and stupidily these ‘thinkers’ forgot to think a bit further, that it would mean China’s own destruction. Now why would China want to do so when it does not need to start a war and already gaining influence and recognition as a superpower that would overtake the Americans in the long run, if there is no war and China could continue to develop and grow peacefully through trade and infrastructure development all of the world?

This is not the only reason why China would not want to have a war to replace the Americans as the Number One super power. The unthinking ‘thinkers’ too knew that China had no reason to do so and they would give all the real reasons why China would be courting death for doing so. Their reasonings in this area are logical, at least they are not completely dumb and blind. The Chinese military is decades behind the Americans in sophistication and destructive power. And a war with the Americans would likely see the Americans triumphant or at least the Chinese forces would be defeated. How then and why then would a militarily weak China want to challenge and start a war with the Americans? Silly logic isn’t it? Only dumb thinkers and analysts could keep on screaming that China is the expansionist and aggressive power that would start a war with the Americans.

What is the truth? What is China doing and what are the Americans doing all over the world? The Chinese are building infrastructure all over the world to facilitate transportation and trade. The Americans are building military bases and forming military alliances all over the world, including conducting provocative war games at the doorsteps of targeted countries. And the Americans are engaged in wars for the last 5 decades all over the world, including now with their mighty military presence in the wars in the Middle East. How much of these are not spoken, or blind to the dumb thinkers and pseudo analysts?

China is progressing very well and getting richer and stronger without the need for war. China needs peace to progress, to get rich and bring a better life for its people and for the people of the world through trade and investment, not through wars. And when China is rich and prosperous, when China is the richest nation in the world, why would China want to start a war with the Americans to destroy everything that it has built and achieved? What kind of foolish thought is that?

If there is a war between China and the US, it is likely to be provoked by the Americans in desperation to cling on to their Empire and to continue to be the Number One hegemon in the world by military might. China is rising, by economic and peaceful means. Not by military might and the need for war.

It is time to put an end to this silly western myth perpetuated by the West and continued to be spread by silly Asian leaders and so called intellectuals, thinkers and analysts, that China is set to want to go to war with the Americans. China will rise peacefully and needs peace to rise peacefully, to be the richest nation on earth. War will destroy everything, will put an end to the China Dream.

Another October crash?

Read below article. It is so important that I am quoting the whole article here.
Dear Family,

With the Year Of The Jubilee On Oct 3, 2016 comes the “divine reset”. Over the years I have been teaching @ PATMOS that Europe will soon come under divine judgment for what they did 70 years ago. When we speak of Europe we can’t help but speak of the EU the heart of Europe and when we speak of the EU we can’t help but speak of the soul of the EU – Germany. And in speaking of Germany we can’t help but speak of the spirit of Germany – the Deutsche Bank.
Has the judgment begun – we will have to wait and see BUT for now the handwriting is on the wall. Read on.

Deutsche Bank Collapse: The Most Important Bank In Europe Is Facing A Major ‘Liquidity Event’ ( Bloomberg )

Posted: 30 Sep 2016 04:42 PM PDT

The largest and most important bank in the largest and most important economy in Europe is imploding right in front of our eyes. Deutsche Bank is the 11th biggest bank on the entire planet, and due to the enormous exposure to derivatives that it has, it has been called “the world’s most dangerous bank“.

On September 16th, the Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. Department of Justice wanted 14 billion dollars from Deutsche Bank to settle a case related to the mis-handling of mortgage-backed securities during the last financial crisis. As a result of that announcement, confidence in the bank has been greatly shaken, the stock price has fallen to record lows, and analysts are warning that Deutsche Bank may be facing a “liquidity event” unlike anything that we have seen since the collapse of Lehman Brothers back in 2008.

But the size of the fine is not really the issue now. Shares of Deutsche Bank have fallen by more than half so far in 2016, and this latest episode seems to have been the final straw for the deeply troubled financial institution. Old sources of liquidity are being cut off, and nobody wants to be the idiot that offers Deutsche Bank a new source of liquidity at this point.

As a result, Deutsche Bank is potentially facing a “liquidity event” on a scale that we have not seen since the financial crisis of 2008. The following comes from Zero Hedge…

The more the stock price drops, the faster other financial institutions, investors and regular banking clients are going to want to pull their money out of Deutsche Bank. And every time there is news about people pulling money out of the bank, that is just going to drive the stock price even lower.
In other words, Deutsche Bank may be entering a death spiral that may be impossible to stop without a government bailout, and the German government has already stated that there will be no bailout for Deutsche Bank.

Banking customers have a total of approximately 566 billion euros deposited with the bank, and even if a small fraction of those clients start demanding their money back it is going to cause a major, major crunch.

One of the reasons why Deutsche Bank is considered to be so systemically “dangerous” is because it has 42 trillion euros worth of exposure to derivatives. That is an amount of money that is 14 times larger than the GDP of the entire nation of Germany.

The complete and total collapse of Deutsche Bank would be an event many times more significant for the global financial system than the collapse of Lehman Brothers was. Global leaders simply cannot afford for such a thing to happen, but without serious intervention it appears that is precisely where we are heading.

Public forum on Elected President cancelled

For the first time, a public forum organized by Reach, a govt organization, has to be cancelled due to poor response. This is despite that Shanmugam and Chee Hong Tat being the key speakers. What does it say, no Singaporeans bother to know what the changes to the Elected President are all about, or Shanmugam could not attract enough people to listen to his important talk?  Is PAP losing the ground, that a PAP talk had to be cancelled due to poor response?

Actually how many people signed up and how many people were they expecting to decide that attendance was poor and therefore better to cancel it to avoid the embarrassment of Shanmugam and Chee Hong Tat talking to 4 people or 20 people? So far it was reported that an Adrian Tan and his family had signed up. Who else had signed up? How many people had signed up? Not sure.

Oh, I just found out that Adrian Tan is actually Tan Cheng Bock, the ex PAP MP, one of the 4 presidential candidates in the last President Election, and the only one so far that had announced that he would be standing for the EP election. And everyone knows that he is likely to be disqualified this time. Unfortunately Cheng Bock did not know, or he did know and want to clarify or confirm with Shanmugam during the forum if he is still qualified to stand.

Actually it would be so easy to get a few bus loads of senior citizens or RC members or even PAP supporters to attend. Just send down a directive would do the trick. Oh, have they forgotten about the chicken rice trick?

I hope the poor attendance is not because the forum was not important. I also hope it was not because the people are fed up with the PAP and boycotting the forum. Now who were these people that were boycotting the forum, supporters or opposition believers?

This sounds like another miracle. A PAP organized event had to be cancelled for poor attendance.Really unbelievable. Or is it because someone is not welcome in PAP functions?

What is the true meaning of military alliances?

Many countries are signing military alliances with the Americans and having war games with the Americans, practicing how to conduct joint attacks against American’s enemy countries. The war games sound so innocent, like playing computer games but actually a preparation for war, to attack and invade

Not many people are thinking about the significance of war games and military alliances with the Americans. Duterte is standing up to enlighten the unthinking about military alliances and war games. Signing military alliances with the Americans is as good as signing up your enemies, identifying your enemies and declaring to your enemies that they are your enemies. And conducting war games is now very clear. It is about attacking and invading your enemy countries.

The Americans are practicing to conduct war with their allies. And when the Americans go to war, the allies will be part of the American coalition of invaders. And all the soldiers and military hardware of the allied countries would come under the American command. Now it makes sense why they sell weapons to their allies. They did not only make money from it, the weapons would be used eventually to fight on the side of the Americans.

Duterte did not want any of it. Duterte did not want to sign up enemy countries. Duterte did not want to antagonize other countries by conducting war games against them. A friendly country does not keep provoking its neighbours by conducting war games and signing military alliances that said we are your enemy.

Why would countries preach peace, but sign military alliances, conduct regular war games and sell military weapons everywhere? For peace?

Now the Philippines are being threatened by the Americans to honour their treaty obligations. If not more pressure will be exerted on ‘abuses’ especially on human rights and killings of drug lords and peddlars. The Americans are also threatening to rein in the purse strings, ie, no more aids, no more antique warships for the Phi8lippines. Can the Philippines get out of the military treaty signed? It is a case of you can say you want out but you just cannot leave, once you are in?

One funny question to ask, who had invaded the Philippines and colonized the Philippines in the past? China! Wrong, idiot. Next. China! Wrong again, stupid. The first country that invaded and colonized the Philippines was Spain. The next country was the USA. The Americans did the same, conquered and colonized the Philippines. Anymore? It’s Japan. The Japanese also conquered and colonized the Philippines and in the process massacred hundreds of Pinoys like the Spaniards and the American invaders. And some daft Pinoys are asking the Japanese and the Americans, their colonial masters and murderers of their forefathers, to protect them from China!

Has China ever invaded and colonized the Philippines?

No talent Singapore helping full of talent India

Singapore is going to help train 400 million skilled Indians by 2020. Should I say steady lah Singapore, or funny lah Singapore? We are now well known to be a little country lacked of talents and most of our talents are coming from India. We have imported talented Indians to fill top positions in banking and finance, in IT, in medicine, in law, in teaching, in the civil service, in every industry that you can think of.  I thought Yaacob did a very good job cleaning up Singapore River and should be sent to India to clean up the Ganges. No? Did we send all our experienced train engineers to India and ended with the daily breakdowns with our own trains, no local talents left?
Now we are going to help to train Indians to upgrade their skills? How? Are we going to send back all the Indian talents we recruited from India back to India to train and up skill the Indians in India?
Does it make sense? On careful study and some deep meditation I found the answer. Yes, it makes sense. The key word is ITE. It is the low technical skill level that India needs and we have plenty from our ITE Education Service. At this level we are surely competent, more than adequate to train the low skill Indians.
For the higher skill and talented Indians, we would continue to import more of them here. We need them badly. Maybe the terms and jobs in the CECA should be extended for more Indian talents to work here to replace the no talent Singaporeans.  And we can send our displaced no talent Singaporeans to India to help them and build smart cities for them. Oops, no talent Singaporeans to build smart cities? Make sense or not?
This is mind blowing stuff. The more I think about it, the more blur I get. No talent Singaporeans teaching highly skilled and talented Indians?

The farcical Hague rulings on SCS is dead

The Philippines did not want to talk about it. Vietnam too is quietly staying away with Chinese investment pouring into Vietnam. Malaysia, after Najib being attacked by the Americans, is also distancing itself away from the kangaroo court rulings. Brunei is smart enough not to be used as a clown by the Americans and the Japanese and embroiled in a dispute that would only drag it into a shit hole.

Who else is still clamouring about this farce? Who is still whipping this dead horse, the farcical Hague rulings? Who else still has an agenda and a special interest in wanting to drum this stupid ruling from The Hague when the claimant states are no longer interested in the scam? The believers of this farce did not believe that a similar scam could be used to turn against them in the future if the rulings of a kangaroo court is seem as just, fair and legal.

Which country is still having sleepless night and an obsession over The Hague rulings and wanting it to be in the headlines, refusing to let it die? The big question, why? Why are these non claimant countries beating their drums everyday about The Hague rulings when the claimant states have already let it passed?

China is of course furious and would kick the ass of Japan if it dares to conduct joint patrol in the South China Sea. This is a red line that China would not allow the Japanese to cross as it would invite the herd of hyenas from as far as Australia, France and Canada to think it is ok, China is too weak to resist, to join the fray. Are there any idiotic leaders with no claims in the South China Sea but want to join the Americans in joint patrols and think sitting on the head of a tiger means they can shout at China?

Which leaders are silly enough to put their country and people at risk of war with China when they have no business in the SCS? Freedom of navigation? China is a threat to freedom of navigation? What is China doing with the One Belt One Road project, to curb freedom of navigation? Who needs more freedom of navigation? Who is the biggest trading nation in the world that needs freedom of navigation?

Silly boys and girls are easily conned to believe in lies and will swallow everything, hook, line and sinkers. Anything the Americans said is golden truth.

Singapore is entangled in a dispute with China over its role in the Non Aligned Movement. Singapore had vehemently denied that it was the devil pushing the SCS agenda. It was all Asean working as a group pushing it. If there was anyone pushing this dead horse, it would not be Singapore. Singapore is innocent.

Below is a quote from an article in The Singapore Daily supposedly by an old man of unknown identity. In this old man’s view, Singapore has all the reasons and intent to want to flog the dead horse to protect its interests as a small state, on grounds of principles, to protect the rule of law, international law, and freedom of navigation. And by the way things are happening, the rest of the Asean states are unprincipled, did not see the need to protect the rule of law, to protect international law and freedom of navigation. Their national interests do not coincide with such principled positions.

Here are the reasons what this unknown old man said of Singapore’s position. True or not, Singapore’s position or not, this is his view of why Singapore has to speak up, to keep whipping the dead horse.
It needs to come out strongly and defend ASEAN as a regional grouping that has a voice, and a unified voice at that, against any country that dares to thumb down the region.

It is to the interest of the grouping that Singapore speaks up on the SCS issue, not play it down. If Singapore allows China to walk all over it over the South China Sea issue, what’s to stop any other great world power or regional bloc from doing the same?

Singapore is the leader of Asean and has assumed the role of protecting Asean and the hapless and weak Asean states. The Asean states are so blessed to have Singapore to protect them and their interests. Perhaps Singapore could conduct joint military patrol with another big power, India, in the South China Sea. That would definitely scare off China.

F1 final curtain call?

11 races gone by and nearly $2b spent with the govt footing 60% of the bill, would the F1 race continue for another chapter? No doubt there are values generated from such high profile event to add some oomphs to this once labeled dull and lifeless city. With the changes in govt policies and the two casinos, cruise centres, Sentosa, the Zoo and Night Safari, would there be a need to continue to splurge a few billions for an event that, based on the latest race, losing its glitters? Attendance had fallen to a record low of 73,000 from its height of 219,000.

The bill of $150 million to organize such an event is real. The returns of $150 million incremental receipts is as good as extrapolation from a lot of intangible accounting. How much of the receipts would be translated to actual profits to offset the $150m of cost has yet to be added up. Assuming 30% was profit, that was only $45m, a far cry from the cost of $150m. A $150m receipt is NOT $150m profit!

The Singapore Race is now dubbed as the ‘crown jewel in F1’ by Ecclestone. Iswaran added that ‘there is a clear appreciation of the value that Singapore brings to F1, not just as a venue but in terms of the larger position of the sport and also as a business…’

Singapore has added value to the F1 event. There is no other place like Singapore to hold such a glamour event, safe, clean and efficient and convenient. Should not the F1 organiser be paying Singapore a fee instead of Singapore paying them a helfty $150 million? The big question should be who needs who more, who contributed more to the success of the event?

It is time Singapore appreciates its own value and not continue with the self deprecating thought and policy that we need them, like the foreign talent myth, that Singaporeans are daft, and trust that they need us more. Just hang up the phone and wait for them to call back. The worst case scenario is for Singapore to save $150 million that could be used for better things.

What do you think? Should Singapore continue to behave like the unthinking glory seeking adolescent, begging to be invited in, to be given a seat, and to pay whatever they asked, because papa got money to throw?

Grow up Singapore. You are not a third world little country that needs to pay for superficial glory, for a bit of noise on the streets. It is $150m a race to organize. It is public money that must be accounted for and carefully spent.

CPF – Coffin money kena tangkap

This is the most cruel thing to do to anyone. The coffin money is what a person has left for his last journey, to have a decent burial. When one accuses another of robbing his coffin money, it is a very mean and heartless thing to do. Some called it ‘or sim kua’ or 黑心肝.

Going back in time, anyone remember what was the purpose of CPF savings? Yes, it was a simple saving scheme for old age, for retirement, a kind of coffin money. Over time, when the savings got too big, someone decided that housing was also very important, having a roof over one’s head was a basic need. So some CPF money was allowed for the people to buy a home. $7k or $10k, quite affordable and would not erode the savings. Still a lot of money left for retirement and to buy a coffin. Then HDB prices gone up, $30k, $50k, now $300k, $500k, $1m, and still some donkeys said very affordable. But after paying for a home, what is left in the CPF for retirement and for a coffin? Hardly any, barely any left. Don’t talk about the hare brain scheme of allowing 90% of CPF money to play the stock market. That is another pathetic and heartbroking episode to many oldies.

Now, did anyone put their savings into their CPF to buy medical insurance? What is that? Never heard of! The CPF is about retirement and coffin money. Who wants to save to buy insurance with their retirement and coffin money?

How much of your CPF money has been ‘tangkap’ and set aside for medical and insurance? When has the CPF been turned into a medical insurance scheme against the wishes of the people? Do the people, the savers, have a say in their money? Why is the money now gone, to pay for insurance, to pay for medical insurance whether you need it or not?

What happens to the main objectives of retirement savings, of coffin money? Where is my money for retirement? Not enough, why not enough for retirement? Who has been robbing me of my CPF savings? After saving a life time, at more than 50% of one’s income, still not enough for retirement, not enough for coffin money?

Who has been so cruel to dip into the people’s coffin money?

China transforming the world

While the Americans are preoccupied with creating tensions, inciting wars, building military alliances and selling weapons, China is using its new found wealth to rebuild, reconstruct and transform the world strategically that has caught the Americans and the western powers dumbfounded.  Hundreds of nation states would be involved and participating in this new infrastructure development. Ever since the expansion of European and western powers through colonialism and imperialism, the world was built and revolved over old concepts of deep and warm water ports.

The British Empire went all over the world to seize, build and control maritime ports, to control the sea routes for trade and military supremacy. Controlling maritime choke points was the way to extend influence and military power. Other western powers followed but with lesser success. Countries with deep water ports benefitted from international maritime trades with their fleet of ocean going ships. Container ports and VLCCs  carrying oil further reinforced the importance of the sea and shipping as the favoured and most important means of transportation other than by air.

China’s strategic concept of One Belt One Road is about to change the world and how international trade and trade routes would be reorganized, revamped, managed and conducted. High speed trains crisscrossing the Asian continent linking Europe and Africa to China, and with the prospect of linking North and South America to Asia by rail was never thought possible but now a reality waiting to happen. Europe and China are already connected.

In one stroke of the pen, shipping and the importance of deep sea ports become relatively irrelevant. Landlock countries in Asia, Africa and Europe could find a new life line for the transportation of goods and services and no longer restrained and limited by the lack of a sea ports. The land routes benefitting from high speed trains are much more efficient in all ways and cheaper in the long run.
The ports that straddled the eastern coast of the Atlantic Ocean, both sides of the Indian Ocean, the western Pacific Ocean, would diminish in their utility for trade. The concept of cutting the Kra Isthmus to save a couple of days is obsolete when weeks could be saved travelling direct between Europe and China, Africa and China, by rail.  It is even more important that the Isthmus of Kra remained intact not to disrupt the flow of high speed trains.

Whither the fortunes of the maritime ports in Southern Asia. Singapore in particular will face serious challenges when the land routes are fully operational. And the nightmare for Singapore would be a rail link between West Malaysia and Sumatra and linking direct to Java. Indonesian goods can travel by rail to China and Europe and vice versa.  New transportation hubs would sprout from sleepy little towns like Malaysia’s Port Dickson and Dumai on the Indonesian side. The Tuas port could become a white elephant.

The world map of commerce and trade would be totally unrecognizable in another 2 or 3 decades. Fortunes would change for the sea faring ports. New trading centres would rise in Central Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa. The One Belt One Road project when fully developed would see the rise and fall of fortunes of new and old cities and transportation hubs. This is the biggest game changer of the 21st Century.

Some Asean countries are thinking of snubbing China and wanting to opt out of the OBOR project. Is there an opt out option? Sure, if Singapore, or even Malaysia were to opt out, the rail line would end in Thailand and a Thai port would become the new transportation hub and international commercial centre for goods plying from China, East Asia and Europe. That would be the end of the story for Malaysia and Singapore as flourishing trading hubs if they chose to opt out of OBOR.

Tharman in panic mode

This is the first time Tharman has lost his cool and furiously trying to defend himself all because of a survey commissioned by Yahoo and conducted by Blackbox. And The Independent Singapore posted this comment, The Independent Singapore social media site said this, ‘We asked our readers on Sunday (4 Sep) who should be the next Prime Minister of Singapore. As at 12pm today (6 Sep), we have had 2,316 responses to the poll – and most (1882 votes) voted for Tharman Shanmugaratnam to lead Singapore into the future.’

The report saw Tharman desperately denying that he wanted to be the PM and that he was not suitable to be one. Such modesty and humility are rare in Singapore, that a people’s choice candidate had to dispel such a notion or chattering in the political grapevine. This was what Tharman said, 'Just to be absolutely clear, because I know of this talk that's going around, I'm not the man for PM. I say that categorically. It's not me. I know myself, I know what I can do, and it's not me.'

The big question now is whether what Tharman said is good enough for him to have a peaceful sleep at night. Or would he be so bugged by it, or would he think other people would not leave him in peace, to keep calling him to take his rightful place as the next Chosen One?  Maybe he should make a public statement, a pledge or something like that, to say even if offered, he would reject the PM post. Now that would be something. And I am sure he would then be able to sleep in peace.

This episode is looking quite funny and quite scary. This is the greatest honour bestowed on a man by the people, telling him that he is their choice, but driving the man into panic mode, not wanting to be the Chosen One is just strange. It is not a death warrant! It is a great honour.

Of course the polls would be quite embarrassing to those Chosen Ones to know that they ranked so low in the eyes of the people.  It is like what Shanmugam said, if one cannot get the majority votes of the people, it would become a joke. All PMs to be must enjoy the popular votes of the people to be able to stand in front of them to talk to them as their leader.

And Tharman is the man but is running away from the call of duty. He would have dug a hole to hide himself literary.  No agencies should anyhow conduct polls like this one. A lesson learnt I hope.
Poor Tharman.

Hugh White - Don't be so presumptious

In his article in the ST on 27 Sep titled ‘Choosing between America and China’, this Australian academic could not resist wearing his pink lenses and all his western biases to discuss the China American relations in Asia. ‘None of us in these countries want to live under China’s shadow….At the same time, all of us want America to stay engaged in Asia, to help balance China’s power and set limits on how far its regional leadership develops….’ Who were these ‘none of us’ and ‘all of us’? Australia and Singapore, or do they include Laos, Cambodia and other neutral states? Hey mate, Asia is not only Australia and Singapore and American allies. Now the Philippines is not going be counted in your ‘none of us and all of us’, get it? The ‘us’ must be the Little USAs right?

Now what is your problem, what is Australia and America’s problem, an assertive and expanding China upsetting the balance of power in Asia? What is the picture, what kind of balance of power? China expansionist, assertive and has no right to want to have a bigger breathing space and room to play with? Look at the chess board, China is occupying only two squares in a corner. The rest of the squares are occupied by the Americans. This is the status quo that the American and the Australians and the ‘us’ would want to preserve as the status quo. And this was what he said in the rest of the article. China must be contained in the same two squares, by persuasion, coercion or war.

Now, who is pushing who into a corner? The American Empire is very comfortable to constrain China in a corner, with two squares and the Empire controlling the whole chess board. So, is China pushing outwards against the squeeze put up by the Empire, trying to break free, or being assertive and trying to eat into the space of the Empire?

He then dwelt with the reality of accepting China as an equal partner to the US, that the rise of China is inevitable. How could the relationship be equal if the Americans insist on sitting on 62 squares and demanding China, as an equal, to sit in the corner with 2 squares?

Hugh White could not see this inequality, inequity, that the Americans have been occupying too many squares in the chess board and it is time to relinquish some space to an equal partner. How about each power sitting on 32 squares? Is it too much for China to want to sit on half of the squares in the chess board? Why is China called aggressive and expansionist and ambitious, when it has only 2 squares and wanting a few more squares to breathe easier while the Americans refused to vacate a few of the squares?

What kind of balance of power is Hugh White talking about? What kind of equal partnership is he advocating for China to accept? What was clear in his article is this, the fear that ‘America might start slowly but surely, to withdraw from Asia’. What kind of foundation for a regional order would he think would be acceptable to both China and the US? A chess board where the Americans continue to sit on 62 squares and China to sit in 2 in a relationship among equals and with the Americans pointing a gun at China not to move?

To the western narrative, China’s OBOR, AIIB are all expansionist and belligerent in nature, a country that is planning to conduct wars, to conquer other nations. On the other hand, all the wars conducted by the Americans and western countries all over the world are for peace. Signing up military alliances and conducting war games are for peace, friendly gestures to the countries targeted, even when conducted outside their doorsteps.

Finally there is an Asian leader, brave enough and clear thinking to admit the truth, that conducting war games are aggressive in nature and would raise tension in the region. Duterte is going to end all military war games with the Americans. No provocative joint patrols in the South China Sea. I said he is brave for his life is at stake for going against the ‘peaceful’ Empire. He would be removed by the Empire, dead or alive. His Foreign Minister Perfecto Yasay is negating almost everything he said to appease the Americans. Yasay could be a hot favourite of the Americans to be engineered to take over from the fall of Duterte. Duterte must watch his back and his every move. Defying the Empire is very risky thing to do. It is better to be Little USAs to be safe and be in the good books of the Empire.

80% readers want Tharman to be PM – The Independent Singapore

The Independent Singapore social media site said this, ‘We asked our readers on Sunday (4 Sep) who should be the next Prime Minister of Singapore. As at 12pm today (6 Sep), we have had 2,316 responses to the poll – and most (1882 votes) voted for Tharman Shanmugaratnam to lead Singapore into the future.’ The votes for the other hopefuls, touted as potential PM by the main media, with their votes indicated, are Chan Chun Sing(53), Tan Chuan Jin(28), Heng Swee Kiat(288). Lawrence Wong(21), Ng Chee Meng(26), Ong Ye Kung(1), Grace Fu(1) Masagos Zulkifli(14).

It would be interesting if Hsien Loong was included in the survey. Chee Hian managed 17 votes. Now what did the numbers above said of the voting pattern of Singaporeans, presuming the readers taking the poll made up of a fair sample of Singaporeans? And what did they said about the current prevailing official truth that Singaporeans are racists and would vote for candidates of their own race?

Unless Tharman is just the proverbial dark horse that is a flash in the pan case, the polls reviewed affirmatively that the readers did not vote according to race. Tharman is popular and has been popular among Singaporeans. Period, no dark horse, not dark horse. He is a force of his own to be reckoned with. He has a very strong following among all races.

The seond point, Masagoes even scored better than Grace Fu and Ong Ye Kung. So, another confirmation that race did not really matter that much?

What is interesting about this poll, if it is representative of the general population, Tharman would beat every one of the Chinese ministers hands down. But would this translate to him being the PM should there be an opportunity to elect the next PM? One thing for sure, the views and wants of the general population do not count in the selection of who is the PM. It would be decided by a small group of inner circle members within the PAP. The question then, is this group racist and would vote or select the PM based on their racist biases? Would they be different from the readers and the general population in wanting Tharman to be the next PM?

Who is the racist or more racist? The general population or the inner circle member so the PAP?

What do you think? Did the strong votes for Tharman debunk the current official wisdom that is being parroted by everyone in the political leadership, that voters are racists? Shanmugam and Tharman agreed with the official wisdom as well? With all the talks of a minority President, the inevitable outcome or consequences of raising this issue is the position of the PM and the minority’s interest in wanting a minority PM. Would there be a challenge to Hsien Loong’s position as the next PM given Tharman’s popularity in the next GE?

The people has been agitated to think that a minority President is just tokenism and the real stuff is a minority PM and would be making more demands for a real change. What now, brown cow? Anyhow opening a can of worms has its consequences and a price to pay.

PS. The survey was commissioned by Yahoo and conduct by Blackbox.

Singapore wants to improve ties with Japan

‘Japan is an "important friend" to Singapore and a key contributor to the region, and Singapore hopes to take the relationship between the two countries further…In our early years, Japanese investment made a lot of difference to our economy….’ Hsien Loong said these in Tokyo.

He was polite not to mention that much earlier, in the 1940s, Japan invaded and conquered Singapore, colonized Singapore, and massacred hundreds of Singaporeans during the Occupation. But that was too long ago and Singaporeans have gotten that Singapore was once Syonan To, and many were forced to learn Japanese and to bow to Japanese or be slapped or kicked or even bayoneted.

During this 4 day official visit Japan had in a way apologised indirectly by giving a posthumous award to ‘the late founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew – the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Paulow nia Flowers - an award Mr Lee described as "a great honour".’ Hsien Loong and Ho Ching were also given an audience with the Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko and had tea with them. This is another rare honour.

With improving relations between the two countries, maybe the next person to be given a posthumous award in the same Order would be past President SR Nathan. Maybe next year.

A storm is brewing between Singapore and China

The Global Times, a China media, lashed out at Singapore for raising the South China Sea Dispute at the Non Aligned Movement in Venezuela. The hard hitting piece by Global Times pointed out Singapore as the agitator behind the move to include Asean’s view on the Dispute into 17th NAM Final Document. The Global Times were cocksure who was the culprit behind the Asean proposal.

Singapore’s Ambassador in Beijing, Stanley Loh, protested with an official letter to the Global Times denying Singapore’s role in the last minute fiasco at the NAM. It was all an Asean’s joint stand on the South China Dispute. Singapore is absolutely innocent. Singapore had no part in pushing the Asean proposal. You can see the halo over Singapore’s representatives.

Is this a case of no smoke without fire? All the jockeying around behind closed doors among the Asean members, who said what, who wanted what, who was trying to fix China, were open secrets. Every Asean state must know that China had its Trojan Horses in Asean. And it is pure stupidity and dumb arrogance to take an anti China position behind closed doors and to think China would not know what was going on.

Stanley Loh is quoted in the media today to say, ‘We are disappointed that an established newspaper published this irresponsible report replete with fabrications and unfounded allegations with no regard for the facts’. This is a very strong comment that demands an explanation and a reply. If Global Times could not support its allegations against Singapore, it must apologise to Singapore. It must response and proves itself. Let’s hope Singapore is really innocent or else dirty linens would be aired in the open. The ball is now in the court of Global Times.

What I am sure is that both sides know the truth. Whether Singapore was the main culprit behind the Asean proposal must be crystal clear to both sides. There is no place to hide. The truth will be out. With the main protagonist, the Philippines refusing to pursue the matter, who is behind the drive to want to incite more attention in the South China Sea, to keep the flame burning? To whose advantage would the inclusion of the Asean proposal in the NAM statement be? Who has an agenda for this to happen?

Would Singapore be vindicated and clear of the smear put up by the Global Times? It better be or the consequences would be very ugly and very embarrassing. From the vehement retort by the Singapore Ambassador, Singapore must be innocent. It must be or his whole credential would be at stake and so is Singapore’s credibility in the eyes of the Chinese leadership.

On the other hand the Global Times would not go shooting at Singapore only to have to retract its statement and even to apologise to Singapore by publishing fabrications. The Global Times would not be shooting from the hips if they did not have concrete evidence to justify the attack. This was no error and not a rash act that could fall flat as falsehood, or would it be so?

Which truth is the truth? It is so funny. It is like two persons inside a lift accusing each other of farting.

Would there be a sequel to this storm?

Singapore’s philosopher king?

In the Republic, Plato talked about an ideal situation when a state is ruled by a philosopher king, a wise man king, a ‘knows all’ that is supposed to be good, virtuous, and with unquestionable wisdom. After more than 6,000 years of civilization, this ideal philosopher king has yet to be born. No kings, emperors, presidents, dictators or whatever heads of state has come near to such an unusual human bean.

Presumably under the rule of such an ideal philosopher king, he is the one that knows best and would do best for the people, and the people need not doubt his thoughts, his ideas and his actions and decisions. He is right all the time and will rule for the good of the people.

We have heard it all over the media what Hsien Loong has said about the need to have a minority Elected President and all the stringent criteria that came along. We heard him saying that this is something he has to do and he would not let others down the road to do it. He is taking responsibility for this idea. This is the idea of one man and the decision of one man, and a very good one for the people and country. And the people got to believe in him, that it is for their own good and to be grateful. Get it right, it has nothing to do with CB.

We are now going to change the Constitution all because of one man and his idea and wants his idea to be implemented as the one good thing for the people. I just hope that Hsien Loong is the philosopher king that Aristotle was talking about, and that his idea is good, virtuous, benevolent and wise, must be wise, and is the right thing for the country. For the people they have no choice but to go along with it. There is no option for the people to say no to this idea and all the changes that are going to take place.

Forget about the deliberation and voting in Parliament. The MPs are not going to ask the people what they think and how they want the MPs to vote for or against the issue. The vote is as good as done even before it is started. At best someone might sneak into the toilet when voting is called. Why, because it is the best idea for the good of country and people. The MPs and ministers know this and therefore would support it wholly with no objection. The ideas of a philosopher king are usually this way, unquestionable, unchallenged and undisputed. No one is up to it to challenge such a wholesome idea, not in this cabinet or Parliament.

Singapore will be blessed if Hsien Loong is the philosopher king and his idea is the undisputed way to go. This minority president idea is looking like the best thing to have happened to Singapore. So far it looks that way. All the wise men and wise women in Parliament, in the academia, in the elite circle, in the legal fraternity, in the medical profession, agree with it. No one thinks it should be questioned, doubting it or saying that it is flawed.

See how powerful and supreme this idea is! It is like the unquestionable truth. If it is not, all the great minds and thinkers in the island would have spoken up. The 8 wise men and one wise woman agreed, must be, or else they would have mentioned it in their report.
The political thinkers in the academia, both local and foreign, also did not say anything to dispute its goodness. Remember, they are foreign talents, the best foreign talents money can buy and also great believers of freedom of speech and expression. If they did not comment about this great idea, it must be their way of saying it is good.

This is the first time in the history of mankind that an idea is not questioned or disputed by the wise men of the time, of an era. Kpkb in social media not counted, just noises in the wilderness, from the daft and mindless peasants.

Singapore's future can only be better going forward with this great idea. This is the closest one can get to a philosopher king.

Jonathan Eyal, ST Europe Correspondence, wrote this yesterday in his article ‘Is this the era of post truth politics?’, ‘Politicians may be strident in misleading voters but professionals must stand up to expose the lies’. This is only true if politicians are just politicians. It does not apply to philosopher king.
