When will the peace loving, freedom loving, democracy loving American terrorists going invade Venezuela? There are plenty of speedboats in the Strait of Malacca, Singapore Strait, Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea for the brave Marines to conduct target firing practices. China has already found alternative routes for oil from Iran, delivered by rail across Central Asia, bypassing the Straits of Malacca and even faster. I just wonder why the Straits of Malacca is being used by the USA to blockade navigation when it is a passage between Indonesia and Malaysia and for them to control.
Oil from the Middle East could also be delivered by rail at the China/Pakistan jointly developed Gwadar Port in time to come. This route will enable oil deliveries to Western China, also a much faster journey.
China has already found an alternative to avoid the Panama Canal, using the Port of Chancay in Peru for Chinese ships docking and conducting trade with South American countries like Brazil. Moreover, there are indications that China is also looking at building an alternative canal through Nicaragua. How that is progressing I am not too sure.
China and Russia are now experimenting with the Arctic route that is becoming more navigable due to climate change for trade with Europe, bypassing the Suez Canal. In any case, the Suez Canal can only function if the Houthis allow the Bab Al-Mandab Strait to be navigable. Same with the Straits of Hormuz that Iran can control for oil exiting the Persian Gulf. So, who holds the cards in the oil trade in the Middle East is subjective.
In time to come, all the blockades intended to be set up via the Straits of Malacca, Suez Canal and Panama Canal could just become White Elephants controlled by the Whites. Slowly, the horses have bolted, while the USA still thinks closing the stable doors is going to be effective. Keep dreaming.
