New Cabinet - Was it a major change?

Lawrence Wong has his new cabinet handcrafted and installed to his likings. His closest comrades in arms are in position to work and support him for the next 5 years. Gan Kim Yong, Chan Chun Seng, Ong Yee Kung and Shanmugam would be his right hand, left hand, back and front men, the strongest team from what is available currently. This would secure Lawrence position as the PM against any challenger during his term in office.

Other than the addition of a couple of new faces, the rest are just a matter of moving the furniture pieces here and there. The expectation of a major change in a new cabinet did not live up to the expectations of those wanting real changes.

Can anything else be read from this rearrangement of a new cabinet? One thing that stands out is that there is no one other than Vivian to fill the Foreign Minister post. Without Vivian, this position would likely be left vacant for good. So, Vivian would be the Foreign Minister until he retires from politics.  Or is it that Vivian cannot fit into any other post other than the MFA?

There is a slight change though in Shanmugam vacating the Law Ministry to Edwin Tong. This ministry and MHA are in a way like 'personal to holder' ministries to Shanmugam, like MFA is to Vivian. In this change, the Law Ministry has been carved out and only the MHA is personal to holder to Shanmugam for now and maybe till his retirement.

Again, not sure whether Shanmugam is born just to be the minister for MHA or he cannot fit into any other ministry, caveat, the Law ministry.

In a way this is a consequence of Singapore's lack of talents, and for the past decades and coming decades, the PM, whoever he is, would have serious problem looking for replacement for the MFA and MHA, and would have even greater problem finding a ministry suitable for Vivian and Shanmugam to take care of.

The rest of the furniture are easy to move around, to fit into any peg into any holes, square holes, round holes, irregular holes, no problem. Anyway, it is just a few pieces of furniture in a cabinet, square peg in round hole, round peg in square hole, just squeeze them in, after a while they will all fit in nicely.

The main point to note is that the first, second and third generation leaders are all gone, except for Hsien Loong as the guardian angel, or the pillar that holds the roof and everything in place. For sure, no one would dare to attempt a coup against Lawrence.

The outside of the cabinet just had a new coat of paint. The inside of the cabinet still contains the same files, just moved from top bottom drawer to the second and the second to the top. That is what I observed about the cabinet, LOL.

A major change probably means a new packaging on the outside. Inside is still the same nuts, preserved fruits and chocolates. The only other major change is the price. It goes up a few notches. Just like kid's milk powder, where they add a little something (which may be hard to prove), change the packaging and increase the price by leaps and bounds. That is what I found shopping at supermarkets.

Singapore's external policies under Vivian Balakrishnan. Singapore's internal security under Shanmugam. These cannot be changed.

Supposedly the creme la creme of Singapore's best talents, but none is good enough to be the Foreign Minister or Home Affairs Minister after more than a decade, think they gave up searching. Singapore better wish Vivian and Shanmugam live forever, otherwise Singapore would be in trouble.

Singapore military may not be trained by the Indians, but the Indians are controlling internal and external affairs. Oh, also the Presidency and Chief Justice as well. The writing is on the wall.

Some said the Bhutanese are the happiest people in the world. But they cannot see the canary in a cage built by the Indians to keep them in the cage. The Indians control their internal security and external affairs.

Does the building of USA bases in countries not doing the same? How did Rodrigo Duterte got snatched under the nose of the Philippine military is a mystery.

Once my ex Bro in law said that those with a Uni Degree could be placed or appointed in any capacity or any type of work and they shall do well!

Hogwash! I told him!

Many with degrees are more dumb than those wothouts

You put a IT trained Graduate to run a Medical Service of Group or Conglomerate of a chain of Hospitals?

Just to do your IT skills?

Or alternatively have a Medical Doctor be Trade or Defence Minister without an ounce of that particular field knowledge?

These socalled Elites thought too highly of themselves!

Sinkeland Ministers Most are just square pegs In round holes and bedak bedak learning on their appointments.

When they are been briefed by the professionals in that their field of appointment, they just simply nodded nodded that they are experts but actually trying to grasp what's going ons.

These equally dumb professionals who briefed them took for granted that they are in the know and don't want to be on their bad books just simply played along with them.

The musical chairs of Ministers changing their Miseries, oops apology Ministeries now and then is the PM or Chief hope that these new ones may offered something out of the box with maybe fresh ideas and innovations.

But sadly, most also auto pilot what's for change for the sake of change ah?

Also most also do not even take the troubles to even review what's some screwups or mishaps may happen in their Ministery.

When things happened then troubles shoots or rectify and said we shall do better next time.
