US to coax new American-educated prime minister away from China

US defence secretary Lloyd Austin will travel to Phnom Penh on June 4 to engage Cambodia’s new American-educated prime minister in an effort to coax the country away from China after attending the Shangri-La Dialogue defence forum in Singapore where he will discuss challenges in the Indo-Pacific with US allies and partners and hold his first meeting with Dong Jun, the Chinese defence minister. In Singapore, Austin will also meet Lawrence Wong, Singapore’s new prime minister.

Prime Minister Hun Manet, son of the former leader Hun Sen, graduated from West Point, the US military academy, and New York University. Washington hopes the emergence of a new generation of leaders will make the country predisposed to working more closely with the US.

“We remain clear-eyed about some of our concerns in Cambodia, but at the same time we see the arrival of the new leadership allowing us to explore new opportunities,” said one US official.

At the Shangri-La Dialogue, Austin will give a speech outlining US efforts to bolster alliances and partnerships as the US shifts from a “hub and spoke” security arrangement in the Indo-Pacific to a “latticed” security architecture that increasingly involves US allies.

PS. It is very easy to turn western educated fake elites to hate their ancestors and love the murderers and robbers of their ancestors.

Whenever a country changes leadership, the USA will go in to 'explore opportunities'. I think we know that what they are after is nothing good. You cannot expect Satan to deliver gifts of glad tidings, right?

The USA succeeded in swaying the lame President of the Philippines, right? They did not succeed in Thailand because the army is still part of the Thai Coalition Government. Now the USA is up to its monkey tricks in Cambodia. Cambodia is a long-term ally of China and needs China more than the USA. What can the USA offer Cambodia is the question.

The USA could not make progress in Myanmar as the army is still strong enough to resist. But they are supporting the rebels in the North. Indonesia is welcoming a new President and I believe the USA would likewise like to try its luck too.

Red Dot is already in the bag for the USA, like the Philippines, strong or weak leader makes no difference today.

What security arrangements are the USA talking about? Who is threatening who? The only threat I can see is what the USA itself poses to countries around the world. Who else is starting all the conflicts if not the USA? Who else is forming all the alliances and talking about countering some other country?

All these problems centered on the behavior of the USA itself.

Most answered I don't know or try to scurry away I have no data offhand to answer you.

Most started smiling and ended up sour faces.

Some wanted to boast that been in their Department for donkey years and when asked said I have no idea and will get back to you.

That's what's you get for all the daft Western Democrazy and all gaji butas aka blind pays.

It is all a charade, to show that democracy is working in the USA. USA is famous for its Hollywood blockbusters. Blinken will probably leave office if Biden loses, which is quite likely.

And when the next President and Secretary of State comes in, the whole process is repeated with the roles just reversed. The questioner will be questioned by the one being questioned on the other side today. The whole charade is not going to end. It is perpetual.
