We need more Chee Soon Juans in Parliament

Chiam See Tong may be able to anchor a team to win a GRC. I hope he delivers. But what is badly needed in Parliament is more Chee Soon Juans. Personally I think he is the most wronged person in politics. He has given his all, his career, his family and his life to politics, to serve Singapore. If this is not sacrifice, what else is? It is time that the people appreciate his contribution and give him their votes to bring him into Parliament. Having one Chee Soon Juan is not the end as a lonely figure in Parliament is not a joking matter. He could be drowned by laughters, and that is all there is to keep him on the defensive. He needs a team of several Chee Soon Juans to stand up to the wolf pack. And a few Chee Soon Juans can only do good for the people of Singapore. There is a need for an opposition voice, a real opposition voice, in Parliament. And if there is a time for it, this GE is the best opportunity to make it happened. The set back in the Reform Party must be taken in its stride and the best of the opposition must be given a chance to represent and speak for the people. Without an opposition voice, we can expect more of what we have already knew, and more akan datang. More of everything is affordable. No matter how good a solitary ruling party is, I think by now the people are wiser and know what is for their own good. A bigger and louder opposition voice is begging to be represented and heard in Parliament. Our first world country with first world political and economic system, with first world citizens, now with more foreign talents becoming citizens, more first world, must surely be able to withstand the presence of a few more opposition members in Parliament. Not the NMP or the NCMP kind. It would not collapse. If it does, like sand castle, then it is not worth keeping. We need a more resilient and durable political system that can last.

There can be a Chee Soon Juan in an Opposition Party and many other politicians in other Opposition Parties.
BUT, if the voters are daft to believe in sweet talks, empty promises and live in false hopes given by those in power, all opposition politicians will be left in the cold.

Politicians are just a part of a political system, the people(citizens)have to know to choose a system that provides maximun check and balance.

IT IS ONLY WHEN THERE IS BALANCE IN POWERS OF BOTH THE POWERS OF THE RULERS AND OPPOSITIONS THAT REGIMES COULD BE KEPT IN CHECKS. Any regime given maximun authority are likely to turn rogue as in the Saying POWER CORRUPTS and ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY !

IT IS HIGH TIME THAT SINGAPOREANS WAKE UP TO REALITY AND ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THEIR WELLBEINGS.

AND

that is to make sure that sufficient oppositions are voted in TO BALANCE THE POWER in the Coming Election, be they Chee Soon Juan or OTHERS(Oppositions).

If I were asked to name two guys who are absolutely creditable as potentially real opposition parliamentarians, it's Chee Soon Juan and the late JBJ.

In the world of dirty politics, moles and scoundrels abound. Everyone who applies to join a political party is a suspected mole or undercover agent. In local politics, it is absolutely astounding that anyone can apply to join a party without much vetting. Maybe some kaypohs with nothing to do are members of a few parties!

By its very nature, politics is confrontational. Anyone who says otherwise is treating the electorate as imbeciles.

Would one expect to find a snake and a mongoose cohabiting in the same burrow?

Absolutely unthinkable!

Hehe. :o)

As long as the magic portion of candies and lollipops works, forget about waking up the voters.

Every year voters look forward to the magic portion like longing for drugs. Every five years, before election time, extra dosage are used to sway voters. It is difficult to ask them to change, because they are bound to ask whether others will give them the same drugs? The PAP already boasted that no other Government in the world can do that. What to say?

Yes, there are voters who have woken up and who swear that they would even vote for lizards and cockroaches rather than for the PAP. But, how many are there. Mostly in cyberspace, i am afraid.

All very well...except for one thing:

Chee Soon Juan has been caught out as a liar and a fraud.

If the people do not even know how to put safety measures in place before making their choices of the candidates, it did show they were mentally drugged and emotionally bought over. That's say a lot about Singaporeans ! So, if Singaporeans prefer political suicide over their own safety and wellbeing of their lives, why do you worry ?

Kaffein> Did you not know LKY lied under oath? Get the transcript where he was in the stand and said he received a letter from the International Bar Association commending Singapore's judicial standards.

Every incumbent party who stays long enough in power will say they are not frauds or corrupted. Until they lose power, we seldom have deep investigations like what Libya, Indonesia and Philippines are now.

Go figure about frauds and liars.

As far as Matilah is concerned, liars and frauds are those that are caught. Not caught, not counted. Innocent till proven guilty.

So, those who wield(make) and beyond the Law will always remain pure and saintly.

Quite very true !

Well you either support the rule of law or you don't. In every cuntry -- and S'pore is no exception -- the rule of law is "imperfect" but for all intents and purposes works well enough for civilization to flourish.

CSJ has been caught out as a liar and a fraud.

Case closed.

When rulers commit fraud they will never be caught, until they are out of office. That is why some dictators are so intent on holding on to power. That is their only protection against being persecuted.

So, as patriot said, only those who continue to wield power, and pervert the law, can remain pure and saintly.

I've stopped to find blame the govt aka "those who wield power".

IMO "those who wield the power" are the people -- they get the govt they deserve.

CSJ has no power -- he got caught out... busted. Those who the people have given trust to can do what they like. Afterall, the people choose to do nothing.

So suck on that, sheeple.

Yes, the people should be blamed for the situation they are in.
