My apologies for not posting anything today. Was at NUH with the missus. Unfortunately the Singtel Wireless reception was poor and can't get my article out. Will post it this evening. Title is New Sandwich.

cheers mate. agree our medical service is on par with the best. but cost must be look at seriously. medical cost must not be looked at commercially, and profit must be balanced against the general wellbeing/health of the people and society.
Until something better "happens" in the non-scientific "non western" (I hate the term) world, western medicine is it. It's not always perfect, but it is a lot better than the alternatives.

"Alternative" therapies are mostly rubbish, and many are dangerous including alot of TCM (hate to say it)

The failure of socialised medicine is well-documented. As good as the S'pore system is NOW, it is not sustainable.
western medicine is best when it comes to cut and paste. TCM has a long history and the approach is very different. many of the medicine are just raw herbs, unprocessed, organic. between the two, choose only those that works.
i used to have regular attacks of mouth ulcers and no western medicine could help. i swear by watermelon frost. i have since no problem with ulcers.

A word of caution though, western medicine is not everything...
true. but for cataract, the western method of operation is still the most effective.
