No anger, no question, no protest
The announcement of the steep hike in electricity tariff is met with an expected silence. Not a single muffle of unhappiness. No one question why the hike is so steep, whether the formula is right, whether the mechanism in the forward purchase of oil is the best or whether there are better ways to protect the interests of consumers.
This is the best kept secret of Singapore's success. Faith and confidence that everything is in good hands. It is the best that is being done. Accept it, or it could be worst.

Be more sympathetic Redbean, there is hardly much breath left, how to care about money matters?

Anger? Can you stop the hike? Will it change their intention? Better to save your anger and fury for the coming election.
Anger, questions, protest? These three words are no longer in the vocabulary of Singaporeans. Gone, erased, exterminted and extinct, like the dinosaurs. This is now the realm of the blind, deaf and mute.
Electricity cost is related to the price of oil on the world market. 21% is not too much. In UK the increases were nearer 30%, os please stop bitching and pay up If you do not like it here then the door is open and I am sure there is no one forcing you to stay. Good bye and make room for the PRC and the FTs from India.
Who dare to ask for help.
Wiser choices lah. Even a wisper for help could bring more price hike. Seasoned SIngaporean had learnt well, not to sign and just beared with the status quos.
Soon.. his words will be a ghost to haunt him for the rest of his life... dogs are trained to bite and forgive them for they have little grey matters in their brains on its own...
And mind You friends, some Singaporeans maybe driven mad by hardships or even suicides!
Should they died, it means they murdered themselves and no one else is guilty.
