islam to rule the world

Islam must prepare to rule the world, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a crowd of theological students in Iran's holy city of Qom, according to a report. "We must believe in the fact that Islam is not confined to geographical borders, ethnic groups and nations. It's a universal ideology that leads the world to justice," Ahmadinejad said. i quoted the above from littlespeck.com. and i must say after reading it i have started to look more favourably towards people like bush and blair. at least i share more common things with them about life and material well being. i won't want religious police to knock at my door, home or hotel, to see who i am with. i won't want to be sunat. i won' t want the state to snatch away my worthless dead body from my family. i want to watch my movies and have my wine. i am secular. i don't mind other people being religious. but i would not allow people to force me to be religious and to follow religious laws.

Good morning Redbean,

Whether we like it or not, Islam is the world's fastest growing religion. All religions, whether Islam, Christianity, Buddhism or any others, teach us to be good and kind to each other. Politicians of some country may use religion to enforce certain agendas but that must not be blamed on religion. I think Islam is good if one chooses to follow its teaching.

I have spent 7 years of my life living in Iran and I have been to every corner of the country. All I can remember of Iran is the beauty of the country with her historic monuments, all spectacular and beautiful.

The people of Iran is the most hospitable lot I have ever encountered during my travel. Everywhere you go there will always be great hospitality, especially to foreigners.

The current Iranian president has a bone to pick with Israel and the US. I cannot tell if his views is accepted by the Iranian population.

i agree speed.

all religions are meant to be good. i just hope that they leave people with freedom of choice. and the secular people alone.

when things have to be forced upon others it is bad. i don't force my values on others. i respect other people's way of life. i only ask to be left alone.

i grimace at what is happening in malaysia, a supposedly moderate country. it can get worst.

The Chinese community of Malaysia have only themselves to blame. When Malaysia was a young country people like my parents totally ignored politics and left that all to the British govt. who decided that the Malays should rule the country after independence. That way the British could still control Malaya through the Malays. My parent's generation was the first generation of Chinese from mainland Communist China. The British were not too keen for the Chinese to be in control then.

Now we have a dwindling Chinese population and increasing bumi/indonesian population in Malaysia. No one can predict what will happen from now here. Malaysia need the Chinese for the economy and the bumis will run the country to the ground if they are not careful. By then the new generation Chinese of Malaysia will eithr have emigrated or become bumis themselves.

this happened in 1955 if i have not forgotten, between tan cheng lock and jaffar onn. the british at that time was still playing the divide and rule game and wanted to give equal rights to all. jaffar onn led the malays and fought for special rights. the chinese and indians lost their rights by default for not fighting.
