The first salvo coming out of the Davos meeting was from a man, a Canadian. They finally replaced the boy PM Trudeau with a mature and wiser man called Carney. And Carney made two important points in his speech in Davos. He told all the adults in the room, the leaders of the western world, to take down the sign, to stop pretending and uttering something that they don't believe. Stop talking about the Rules Based Order. It is dead! The American Empire that has been promoting this lie about Rules Based Order did not believe in it, did not practise it. It is all about American hegemony. And this applies to the phrases like human rights, sovereignty and democracy. These are as dead as Rules Based Order. Period.
The audience gave Carney a standing ovation for saying something they were afraid to say but had to go alone appeasing the Americans and making a fool of themselves every time they have to say it. All the western leaders in the room know the truth but no one has the balls to tell the truth. For the truth or reality of the world, coming out from the mouth of Stephen Miller, one of Trump's aide, is that might is right. No more bullshitting about Rules Based Order, no more democracy, no more human rights, no more national sovereignty.
Is this so difficult to understand? No, all the leaders of American allies and cronies know. But how could they say things to debunk what their masters in Washington order them to say? Carney did not say it, but was as good as telling them to have some balls and be their own man.
The second important point that Carney said, without saying, was to stop praising and appeasing lunatic Trump. Carney was as good as telling them to stop supporting Trump, stop going along with Trump. Unfortunately, though the leaders present gave Carney full support on their feet, they will go back and kiss Trump's ass. They will continue to repeat the silly phrases, Rules Based Order, defend democracy, defend human rights, defend national sovereignty and knowing that all these were just lies for the unthinking and brain dead believers.
And when they meet Trump, they will go on their knees to say, we support you, we support America. The reality is hypocrisy and hypocrisy is the reality. No one would dare to offend or defy Trump. Rules Based Order is dead is real. But Rules Based Order will still slip freely from the mouths of spineless leaders of the American Empire.
Just listen carefully to see which leader will still be uttering Rules Based Order. I bet everyone that was present when Carney made his speech would be shamelessly saying it.
