BRICS held at ransom by India in South Africa

Brazil’s Lula, considered a democratic partner of the West sometimes and voice for an independent Global South other times, has to balance these conflicting identities. He does not want to totally overthrow the existing order of international relations – but he also wants to see some changes, which is understandable. India has also positioned itself against BRICS expansion, hoping to dampen the organization’s push for an independent financial system because it has a strong strategic relationship with the US, while also still being a key member of the Global South. Accepting six new members was essentially a compromise for these two countries.  Bradley Blankenship is an American journalist, RT,

The above quote from an article in RT said it all about the going ons in the Summit in South Africa. Only 6 new members were admitted to BRICS in spite of a long list of application, and in spite of Xi Jinping's opening statement about BRICS being an inclusive organisation for the Global South. Apparently, some founding member, the elephant in the room, wanted to make BRICS as an exclusive club for the noveau riche, like the G7, and also to protect their influence in the bloc. This narrow and myopic interest of the members has undermined the major objectives and missions of BRICS.

BRICS' relevance as an international organisation and their interest in joining BRICS is all about a new platform to represent and protect the interest of the Global South, not the interest of one or two founding members, or a private club. An alternative financial and banking system, dedollarisation to protect from being threatened and sanctioned by the Americans, an alternative currency or trading in respective currencies other than the dollar, can only be successful in an expanded BRICS membership.

Countries of the Global South need BRICS and BRICS is only relevant and meaningful with the full support of the Global South, ie membership. Turning BRICS into the private club of a new rich group of countries relative to the Global South is a recipe for disaster. BRICS would become just a flower vase if the Global South abandons BRICS when they feel that BRICS is closing its door against them and not being one of them.

How did BRICS go about admitting only 6 members? What were the criteria to shut the door to the rest of the applicants? Who is the opposing member acting against the interest of BRICS and the Global South? Publicly announcing support for expansion but setting conditions is as good as saying no to expansion. The founding members of BRICS must not be misled by a prima donna acting on behalf of the Americans to prevent BRICS from moving forward to defend the interest of the Global South.

From the small number of new members admitted, apparently the criteria is to admit only 6. One can also speculate that each founding member can only support one new member with the host South Africa allowed to support two new members. Such criteria are detrimental to the growth of BRICS and must be abolished before they cause more harm to the nascent organisation. Other conditions like limitingn to only 3 new members of those sanctioned by the US not allowed to join were pushed, but rejected. The Americans and the West are laughing themselves silly at the way BRICS is being stopped in its path by a rogue member.

BRICS cannot wait for the next Summit to admit new members. And why must the new members be admitted only in 2024? Don't the founding members smell a rat, a conspiracy to stunt the growth of BRICS? BRICS must not be hijacked by a rogue member and crippled from what it sets out to do. The Global South needs BRICS. It is ridiculous for BRICS to tolerate a traitor in the bloc and appeased its behaviour to undermine its existence, to stop from moving forward. Either BRICS get rid of the traitor in the bloc or the Global South would turn against BRICS. BRICS cannot be polite to traitors with malicious intent and must act firmly to rid the bloc of them immediately... or become a laughing stock. And BRICS must act fast and act now. The cancer in the bloc must be cut out for the good of BRICS.

PS. BRICS needs a strong leader to lead. Putin or Xi must step up and stop being soft to India, the American Trojan Horse. India has its own agenda that is different from BRICS. India is not in the same page as BRICS. Get India out of BRICS for the good of the Global South. BRICS would lose its crediblity if it allows India to remain and mess around with BRICS. A trouble maker is a trouble maker. Period.

BRICS is headless at the moment, and the one that shouted the loudest would get its way. This is bad for BRICS.

Presidential Election - A president has two key roles.

A president has two key roles. To review the use of our reserves and appoint key public appointment holders. So, this person must be independent from the government.

But I’m very sad.

I’m sad that the political landscape is in such turmoil. I’m sad that a highly qualified candidate like George Goh was not eligible. They raised the bar for private candidates by increasing the shareholders’ equity 5 times to $500M and certain management experience conditions.

However no equivalent conditions are required for public sector candidates.

And, it only resulted in all past Elected Presidents being endorsed by the establishment.

This is not a healthy trend for Singapore.

The government must give the people the choice to vote in a President who is independent.

Today, I Tan Cheng Bock want to plead with you to stand for what is right. Love your country by supporting the cause for an independent president. Your one vote counts make it worth it.

USA Commerce Secretary crawling to China to repeat American stupidity

The USA talks so much about wanting to de-couple or de-risk from China, yet the USA Commerce Secretary just crawled to China to talk about what? Begging for Gallium perhaps or allowing part of Tianjin Port to be leased to Mongolia? Talking about one thing and doing another is their forte. That is the USA's way of conducting diplomacy and expect others to believe in them.

China couldn't care two hoots about the USA hallucinating about decoupling or derisking and should not be taking too much interest in the visit. Too much of the same vile tactic is not going to work. Of course China knows how to conduct its diplomacy and will accommodate her visit, but will not be obliged to believe in her rhetoric. China knows very well that after the visit the USA will raise issues about China, eg the forced assimilation of Children in Tibet. Oh, I am sorry they already did that before the visit, together with sanctions imposed, just days before her trip to Beijing. How co-incidental!

It really is eye opening that they could find so many issues to harp upon, some probably invented or plucked from thin air, just like the imaginary wealth they created out of thin air. Incidentally I came across one episode of Perry Mason in a rerun, where one mobster was telling his men to dig out the dirt on the accused, and if he cannot find any, invent them. That is how the USA works and is the modus operandi from top to bottom.

PS. The Americans started all the shit hurling. People living in glass houses should not throw stones.

UK- The biggest thief of Civilisation, the biggest thief of India

I understand the Brits actually stole much more than 4 trillion. It was reported to be at least 41 trillion (in pounds I believe). But they are now passing laws to prevent the return of some stolen artifacts from India, China, South Africa and elsewhere. About the 41 trillion pounds they stole, well, even if every citzen in Little Britain sell their backsides, they are unable to repay. So forget about it.

In any case, it makes little difference to talk about it, since Little Britain is now a de facto colony of India, with an Indian PM. See how strong a superpower India is? It is now all in the family, so why need to talk about debts? How the wheel of fortune is changing.

Oh, by the way, another little bit of titillating news. It is reported that the youngest brother of Charles is living in a palace with 120 rooms. Just imagine that. A large proportion of Brits are living from hand to mouth and losing their homes, unable to service their mortage.

Homelessness is a big problem in many of the 'showpiece democratic countries', including the USA. Oh, there are homeless people, lots of them in democratic Japan as well. But the difference is they are hidden, unlike the open display of them found in the USA. The USA Government seems proud of those tents lining the streets. They claimed it is a 'lifestyle choice' that homeless people like to live the way they do, sleeping, eating, shitting, urinating and reproducing at street corners. What can I say?

Pakistan - Americans behind regime change in removing Imran Khan

Talking about Pakistan, Antony Blinken the perennial hypocrite, on March 7, 2022, was reported to have encouraged the removal of the democratically elected Prime Minister Imran Khan of Pakistan, and in April 2022, Khan was indeed removed. Yes, the USA orchestrated the regime change in Pakistan, clear and unambiguous.

And perennial hypocrite Blinken came out openly to congratulate the new installed Prime Minister, and unashamedly purporting to be supporting Pakistan going forward, with free and fair elections in accordance with its constitution and the rights to freedom of speech and assembly. All that hypocrisy did not tally with the reality. Watch the video on the Jimmy Dore Show titled 'This is why the rest of the world hates us'.

The installed stooge of a Pakistani Government arrested Imran Khan, and even his deputy, after realising that Khan was still as popular among his Pakistani supporters and is a threat to the installed stooge of a Prime Minister, Shebaz Sharif. Sharif went on to regurgitate the very same thing as Antony Blinken, about free and fair elections, when it was all just saying one thing and doing the exact opposite. Where is the element of free and fair elections, when they went out to arrest the most credible opponent of the installed stooge Government on trumped up charges? Strangely, it mirrors what is happening in the USA itself.

The sad thing about Pakistan is that even the Military, Domestic Law Enforcement Apparatus and including the Legislature, are sleeping with Khan's enemies, so he is practically rendered hapless.

Not so, I would say about Thailand. Thailand's military, so far, has been less influenced by outside forces and still revered the Thai Monarchy holding the moral ground. That, in my personal opinion, must be the blessing of the religious influence of the Buddhist state.
