thesaker: Why pick on China?

'I think that it is fair to say that these are all clear signs that the Empire of Hate and Lies has now declared total war on Russia, just short of overtly actually attacking Russian forces or Russia, of course. In fact, Russia and the Empire of Hate and Lies have been at war since at least 2013, and Russia had to make many concessions to the Empire simply because from 2013-2021 Russia did not have:

A military that could take on NATO and win. She does now.
The kind of advanced strategic deterrence systems (nuclear and conventional) she now has.
A stabilized southern axis (Middle-East, Caucasus, Central Asia) from which no threat can realistically come.
A legal case to justify the decision to openly intervene in the Ukraine
A society that would not crumble under the tremendous pressure of US PSYOPS
A society in which the 5th columnists, the 6th columnists, and the Atlantic Integrationist have been pretty much totally discredited.
An economy that could survive the kind of total economic war unleashed nowadays
A system of alliances Russia could count on (remember Lukashenko’s and Nazarbayev’s “multipolarity” of the mid-20s?)
Large enough stores of advanced weapons for a long campaign
The real and full support of China'

What should we expect?

'Sooner or later, the delusional and ignorant psychopaths which run the Empire of Hate and Lies will come to realize that far from breaking Russia, they committed collective economic, political, social, moral, spiritual, and, of course, military suicide and they will be left with *nothing* else to do that try a desperate military provocation. I hope that I am wrong, but I don’t see how the united West could de-escalate from the corner it painted itself into.

Both the USA and the EU are run not by individuals, but by a class (in the Marxist sense of the word) which we can conceptually call the “1%ers”. One percent seems small, but in the USA 1% is over 3 MILLION people, and in the EU this is almost 4,5 MILLION people. Throw in colonies like Japan, Australia, Taiwan, and others and we can see that it is reasonable to assume that there are about 10’000’000 very rich and very powerful people out there who want to see Russia dead and gone forever.

These people will NEVER be voted out of power. Oh sure, here and there, for a while, some will lose an election and an outsider might be voted in, but that is what economic sanctions are for: to punish those nations which vote for the “wrong” candidate (like Hungary just did).'

'We are 41 days into this horror and the end is nowhere near in sight, and remember that the real objective of Russia and China is not “just” to disarm and denazify the Nazi-occupied Ukraine, it is to completely change the European collective security architecture which, in turn, is the cornerstone of the Empire of Lies worldwide. This will most probably take several years unless the coming economic crisis is even much worse than I expect it to be (in my total ignorance of economic topics).

Conclusion:

The Empire of Lies already understands that it lost Banderastan, so it executed the Bucha massacre to change the narrative and trigger a TOTAL “Cancel Russia” war. The WWII Nazis used the term “final solution” and that is what the Bucha false flag signals: the decision by Uncle Shmuel to achieve a “final solution” to the “Russian problem”.

This is the West’s way to signal that it too is now entering into its own 2nd phase of the war.'

Chinese names - Lawrence Lim Heng Tan, what is the standard convention?

This is the 21st century and generally people are more educated and well informed. The westerners have been exposed to Chinese names for centuries and would have no difficulty in knowing how Chinese names are written, that the first name is the family name followed by his individual name.

When a Chinese writes his name as Lim Heng Tan, everyone understands that his family name or surname is Lim and Heng Tan is his given individual name. So it is proper to address him as Mr Lim. But no, today, it is very confusing because some Chinese are trying to confuse the westerners in the way they write their names. Lim  Heng Tan could be written as Heng Tan Lim,  so can be Mr Heng and not Mr Lim.  Lawrence Lim Heng Tan would be even more puzzling.

Lee Hsien Loong is Mr Lee, as simple as that. What would happen if the main media were to write his name as Hsien Loong Lee? Xi Jinping is not written as Jinping Xi for good reasons.  The Chinese community and the main media should play its role by not confusing the westerners with the way the Chinese write their names. Chinese name must be written according to how Chinese write them for centuries. There is a standard convention for it. Why start to write their names in funny ways, some this way and some that way? Why become rojak?

Lawrence Lim Heng Tan or Lawrence Heng Tan Lim? What is the intent and purpose of writing Chinese names anyhow and in any way and using it officially? Why is Lawrence Lim Heng Tan written in the birth certificate or IC becomes Lawrence Heng Tan Lim in the media or in the name card?

Are the Chinese people writing their Chinese names in different ways afraid that the westerners would be confused and did not know if they are Mr Lim or Mr Tan? By writing names anyway you like would actually cause more confusion than intended.

Understanding how Chinese names are written in the standard and well known convention is not difficult for any westerner to known and be comfortable with. The govt and main media must be the responsible leader in setting this norm and not be the shit stirrer to confuse instead of making things simple and easier for themselves and for westerners.

The westerners do no need you to make it easier for them, but by doing so confusing them further. Stick to one standard way of writing Chinese name to make life easy for everyone.

Correct or not, Mr Lim or Mr Tan? Lawrence, shall I call you Mr Lim or Mr Tan? How are the westerners going to know which is the correct version?

Twitter - The assassination of the Truth

Twitter bans Scott Ritter for questioning Ukraine narrative

Twitter “permanently suspended” the retired US Marine Corps officer Scott Ritter on Wednesday, accusing him of engaging in prohibited behavior by questioning the claims of Ukrainian authorities that Russian soldiers had massacred civilians in Bucha near Kiev. Ritter is best known as the former UN weapons inspector who doubted US claims about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, invoked by Washington as a pretext for the 2003 invasion.

“So apparently I’ve been suspended from Twitter for the crime of challenging the orthodox narrative of the so-called Bucha massacre,” Ritter said on his Telegram channel, sharing a screenshot of the message he received from the Big Tech platform.

“I’ve appealed, so who knows what the future will bring,” Ritter said, adding that “Freedom of speech in America today is an endangered concept.”

According to the screenshot, Twitter’s censors had decided that Ritter violated their rules against “harassment and abuse” by saying the Ukrainian police had committed crimes against humanity in Bucha, and were trying to shift blame onto Russia with US help.

Ritter’s tweet did not contain calls for abuse or harassment, or wish physical harm on anyone, Shadowproof journalist Kevin Gosztola pointed out, arguing that his ban “shows how Twitter Rules can be twisted to silence US foreign policy critics.”

Ritter is a retired US Marine who had inspected Soviet weapons under the now-defunct INF treaty, worked as the chief UN weapons inspector in Iraq from 1991 to 1998, and served on the staff of General Norman Schwarzkopf during the first Gulf War.

PS. Now you know truth can be fake and fake can be truth depending on what they want you to believe in. This is as good as adults telling lies and demanded that the lies be accepted as truth.

US Demands India Swap Russian Weapons Systems for US Armaments

US warns India over Russian weapons; Lloyd Austin told lawmakers that Washington will require New Delhi to buy US armaments instead

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on Tuesday that India’s continued purchase of Russian weapons systems is “not in their best interest,” and that there will be a “requirement” that leaders in New Delhi swap some of these systems for US and allied armaments. India is the world’s largest military importer, and counts on Russia for nearly half of its external supply of weaponry.

Austin was responding to a question from Representative Joe Wilson (R-South Carolina), who described India as a “treasured ally” of the US and “the world’s largest democracy.” What, Wilson asked Austin, could the US do to convince “Indian leaders to reject Putin and align with its natural allies of democracy?”

Austin responded that the US has “the finest weapons systems in the world,” and would offer them to New Delhi.

“We continue to work with [India] to ensure that they understand that it’s not in their … best interest to continue to invest in Russian equipment,” Austin told the members of the House Armed Services Committee. “And our requirement going forward is that they downscale the types of equipment that they’re investing in and look to invest more in the types of things that will make us continue to be compatible,” he added.

PS. The Americans think India is their colony, can tell India what they can buy and cannot buy, and must buy Americans.

Racism in Singapore?

The programme on racism currently showing in CNA starring Janil Puthuchery gives the impression that racism is a serious problem in Singapore. Even little kids got slighted or offended if someone said he would look more handsome if he was a bit fairer.  I dunno how these kids would survive if they were in the USA or Australia. They may not even dare to leave their homes.

What to expect in a multi racial society like Singapore, to be free from little brushes of antagonism between people of different races? The naive little kids may think it is possible to have no such encounters, however minor, between races. But would adults think that this kind of ideal state be possible? If they do, then it is a waste of time for them to have lived for the decades of their lives. Or they are lying to themselves. I say, grow up, or stop being a hypocrite or troublemaker.

The accusation so far is that the Chinese majority is racist and discriminating against the minorities, or at least that is the picture coming out from the programme. I would ask a simple question, if the Chinese are racists, why are there so many mixed marriages involving the Chinese? Or I ask another question, why are the minorities so overly represented in the govt and so successful in their profession in an absolute Chinese majority city state? Or has the racial composition been changed?

Historically, from the thousands of years of Chinese history, racism has never been a serious issue in China and Chinese culture. China has 46 ethnic groups with the Han Chinese in absolute majority but no racism of any kind and they lived harmoniously.  In a multi racial society there are bound to be some incidents of unpleasantness and antagonism, but more due to individual characters from either party. But the encounters cannot be like the racism in the West where the minorities can be beaten up or even killed because of the colour of their skin and have to live in fear while walking on the streets.

And in Singapore, we have all the laws in place to keep racism in check, racism of the majority against the minority. What we lacked are laws to curb minority racism against the majority, to prevent the tyranny of the minorities against the majority. In many incidents, it is the majority that were at the receiving ends of racism in Singapore. The govt must not allowed groups to exploit their so called extra sensitivities as n excuse to oppress and limit the social actitivities and way of life of other ethnic groups.

The many incidents mentioned in the programme by kids or racists pretending to be victims were at best good for a laugh than to be taken seriously. When there are so many races living so closely together, there would be biases, prejudices, because of the differences in colour of the skin, culture, antics, social behaviours and mannerism, and some may become the butt of a joke. Sometimes they can be offensive but most of the time not meant to cause harm. People living in a multi racial society and cannot live with a little differences and slights, and scream racism at every incident, need to be sent to the IMH. Many majority Chinese also have unpleasant encounters with the minorities, but should they cry racism? Living in a close knit society, a lot of tolerance and give and take are needed to maintain some balance. If every little thing, done unintentionally, is called racism and ground to persecute and berate another race, then social activities would come to a standstill and intolerance would be the norm.

The race issue has been delicately cultivated and managed for decades by the govt and Singapore is about the most pleasant place to be in for any minority race. Any minority expecting anything better should look forward to staying permanently in heaven. The govt must be sensitive, but must not be led by the nose by the racists in their wild and mischievous allegations and accusations of racism in Singapore. It is not only the minorities that have sensitivities. The majority are also sensitive and some are also extra sensitive. The govt has to be extra sensitive to those out to exploit racial difference with their hidden agenda. It is all about intent and purpose, like the intent and purpose of this racism programme. Is it to promote racial harmony or otherwise?

I feel very sorry for some of the entertainers and artistes making a living and be attacked for cross dressing as other races...when there was no intent to ridicule or hurt another race. This is stupidity and cannot be condoned and be accepted as a social norm. What is so wrong for one to dress up in another racial costumes in the course of one's profession when there is no intent to harm, hurt or ridicule the other race? What would happen if there is an Indian wave or Malay wave and everyone wants to dress Indian or Malay to be fashionable? Not acceptable? Racism? Offensive? Singapore is not a tiny village in some far out corner of the earth. Singapore is a cosmopolitan city state. We cannot afford to let narrow minded racists to dictate what is allowable or permissible and what is not to other races.

I can see Janil enjoying hosting the programme but I think the govt should not encourage such programmes as the sensitivity of individuals or racial groups cannot be underestimated. What is or is not sensitive or offensive is relative and unfathomable. As long as the govt plays fair, is there to watch over racial conflicts and grievances, that is the key to stable racial coexistence, peaceful and harmony would be a bonus.

We cannot change our history or composition of our society. The govt can do, at least, is not to aggravate it or to upset the balance that have existed for so long and quite well. The tolerance of the majority must not be taken for granted. Just because the majority remains reticent when accused of racism does not mean that they would accept such bashing forever. No balance or composition is the right balance or right mixed. Stirring the hornets' nest, no matter how well intended, how the govt perceived is the ripe time, is quite unnecessary as the outcome can be very unpredictable. The society is mature, perhaps, but many individuals are not mature, many are cupboard racists putting up a false front and harbouring different agenda.

Let the society grow at its own pace and find its own balance while keeping a close and watchful eyes on the racists and troublemakers, and haul them up quickly when they crossed the line, should be the way going forward. Pretending to be mature and wise to talk about it is cutting the ice too thin and no one is wiser when a spark is lit for the worse.

No one is an expert, no one can understand and control a racial brew that could turn bad. There is no need to act too clever on such issues. No one is God, the knows all.

What do you think?
