The elusive gold medal in the Olympic Games finally arrived, in style, in Olympic record time at 50.39. What is more special is that it was brought home by a true blue Singaporean, a third generation Singapore born Singaporean. This gold medal does not come with all the controversies of foreign talents, of mercenaries, but home grown and hard work. This is a medal that all Singaporeans can be proud of.
Schooling won his 100m butterfly in the company of the swimming greats in Phelps, Le Clos and Cseh, all wanting to win this event to add to their cupboards of gold medals. And there was Joseph Schooling standing there up front to deny them this glory.
Would this home grown talent spur a rethinking in the sports field, to think and have faith in our very own children, that we should start to grow our own timber again, though 30 years late? See how much wasted opportunities for our children, how much time and money wasted on the foolish dream of money can buy everything, including honour!
This crazy fad of buying talents transcends all fields of enterprise in the island that was once proud of our own talents and our ability to be better than the best in the world. But for the last 30 years Singaporeans have been living in a sick belief that we are daft and useless in everything and anything from anywhere, from little third world villages, are better than us. And many silly Singaporeans believe so even today. And they are still bringing in plane loads of rubbish to replace Singaporean talents and our children and expecting Singaporeans to down grade to become security guards and taxi drivers.
No, all the craps about upgrading, skills upgrading, are really skills downgrading, income downgrading, expectation downgrading, and downgrading of pride and dignity.
Schooling may be a champion in sports, in the swimming pool, but his triumph should open up the eyes of dead gold fish eyes, to see that Singaporeans are not 'has beens' and can be the best', and be proud people once again, not daft in their own countries, not good enough for everything and we need foreigners to replace them, replace their genes and see to their extinction.
Well done Joseph Schooling. Your victory is more than a victory in the swimming pool in the Olympic Games. Your victory is a victory for all Singaporeans, that there is still life and goodness and talent among Singaporeans. We are proud to be Singaporeans again. No need to hide behind foreigners, behind mercenaries for our glory. We should end this silly pursuit of buying foreign talents to do us 'proud'.
A normal kopitiam at night in Singapore. Typical night life of the average Singaporeans in a govt built housing estate.

The case for restrictive laws for sub judice
This
troubling development to this cosmopolitan city where everyone in any position
of authority is deemed a super talent, some even think they are immortals, is
quite uncalled for really. The assumptions for such laws came at a time when
the judges and legal officers were quite ordinary in a way, like lay people,
easily swept off their feet by public opinions. And there was this jury system
where the jurors were common lay persons that were even easier to listen to the
winds, with very light ears and did not have a mind of their own.
We have
abolished the juror system, so this problem with lay persons making legal
decisions is no longer a problem. We now have eminent and learned judges making
legal decisions, very fine men and women with very fine training and education,
people who think law and definitely cannot be influenced by lay persons writing
their opinion pieces in the social media. Or would they? The main media would
definitely not utter rubbish to influence the judgment in court when a case is
in proceeding.
Read this
again for the reasons for sub judice laws, ‘Both statutory and common law
contempt of court are concerned with the possibility that a juror, witness or
lay judge may be influenced by material which is published about active legal
proceedings.’
We have done
away with jurors. There is still possibility of witnesses being influenced by
public opinions. And lay judges? Do we still have lay judges today in our
courts? I have heard of judges, I have heard of lay persons but not lay judges.
This is the first time I heard of lay judges in the above definition from
outlaw.com. Can I safely conclude that our judges, well trained professionals,
are not lay judges?
Is there
really a case to invoke such restrictive laws on sub judice in this smart
nation? A smart nation cannot be filled with stupid people right? And definitely
not stupid judges that will go with the flow… of public opinions. Or at least
people put into authority, especially in the courts of law, having gone through
a tough regime of legal training, can they be easily influenced by public
opinion despite their legal discipline? Or would a simple gag order, forbidding
learned judges from reading the social media to protect them from bad influence
in the social media do?
Have we
advanced as a people, as a nation, to rise above antiquated laws that were
introduced at a time when judges too were not so learned, could be lay judges,
to protect them and the legal system? It would be very serious if our learned
judges of today could easily be influenced by lay people making their lay
opinions.
Are we
regressing as a people, as a nation, to think that ancient laws and practices
are still useful and practical to our highly educated, highly trained and
highly discipline justice system?
Can we trust
our learned judges to be able to distinguish between chaff and the real stuff
in a legal proceeding? Or do we think that the learned judges are just as
fickle as the lay people? What is the brandishing of this sub judice law trying
to say? Would it undermine the integrity and intelligence of our learned judges,
that they need such an ancient law to protect them from making wrong decisions?

Why I did not bother to read about the latest CPF schemes?
It does not
affect me at all and would not affect may CPF holders today and in the future.
Savings and more savings are luxuries only for the rich and people with a lot
of money to save. Many will be living a hand to mouth existence and savings and
more savings will mean they need not have to eat and live today and hopefully
they will live long enough to benefit from their savings.
I will leave
it to those who still have some CPF savings to sweat over these attractive
schemes. To those that would not be affected, why bother? And many people down
the line, the young, are unlikely to benefit from whatever schemes that they
are scheming. How so? How much can the young of today, and the parents of today
be left with in the CPF is they have to pay for their million dollar properties
and the compulsory Medishield Life and all the minimum sums to be locked up?
No need to
bother about those unable to afford million dollar properties as they would not
have much to put into their CPF anyway. The 3 or 4 rm HDB flats would have
exhausted whatever they put into their CPF, nothing much left to be schemed or
benefit from any schemes.
True or not?
Reversing the wolf pack strategy
The
Americans and the West have been able to rule the world by the wolf pack
strategy on top of the divide and rule strategy that have been very successful
for the last 600 hundred years. Afro
Asian and Latin American countries have been chopped and divided into bits and
pieces to be conquered and ruled by the West. Till today, this divide and rule
strategy is still relevant and effective even against the big powers like China
and Russia. The Americans were very successful in driving a wedge between China
and North Korea to allow them to ostracise the North Koreans as the bad boy of
the world. China was unable to stand firm to back up the North Koreans under
this divide and rule strategy. What would come closely behind this strategy is
the wolf pack attack strategy. They would gang up in so called Coalition of the
Willings to invade Iraq and Libya. And soon this Coalition would be turned
against the North Koreans and subsequently against China and Russia.
The
stupidity of the Chinese and the Russians to allow this manipulation to go on
against their interests in baffling. Could they not see that they are next in
line to be invaded by the wolf pack? Iraq, Libya, Syria, next Iran or North
Korea, and down the line China and Russia. Why would the China Russia camp
adopt the same strategy to deal with the aggressive ploy of the Americans and
the West, to divide their alliances and attack one at a time? Why would they
not strengthen their alliances to deal with the wolf pack, one at a time?
There are
early signs that the Chinese and Russians knew that they could not be the
whipping boys of the West for long as they too would end up the victims. There
are increasing joint military exercises by the Russians and the Chinese in the
same way the Americans are doing all over the world to intimidate the China
Russo camp and their allies.
The China
and Russo camp must retake the initiative and turn the game around, to gang up,
to take on the members of the western wolf pack. Unwittingly being forced to
break ranks among themselves is the most stupid thing to do and would not only
not be appreciated, but would be used to weaken and destroy their camp.
With the
rise of Japanese militarism encouraged and supported by the Americans, the
Japanese is posing a greater and increasing threat to the securities of China,
Russia and the Koreas. All these countries have suffered from Japanese military
aggression and expansion in the past. It is only appropriate and opportunistic
that they should gang up, form a wolf pack, to take on the Japanese militarism.
They have all the reasons to attack Japan like the way the Japanese attacked
them in the past. A four nation invasion of Japan would make the job so much
easier and to right the wrongs of history, the atrocities committed by the
Japanese against them that the Japanese are still denying today.
A wolf pack
against the Japanese is only right and necessary to curb the ambitious
aggressive plans of the Japanese to revive their pre war glories and to be in a
position to attack them one at a time. A
wolf pack of China Russia, and the two Koreans would be formidable and
indefensible by the Japanese, and the Americans would have to think very hard
to want to come to the defence of Japan.
The China
Russo camp cannot be sitting there waiting to be attacked by the wolf pack.
They must take the initiative and form their own wolf pack against the
American/Japanese/western wolf pack if they are going to survive in this game
of might is right. Not doing anything is not an option but waiting for their
turn to be invaded by the American camp, one at a time.
The game
must change and the victims turn to become the aggressors to put the American
camp and their allies on the defensive, starting with Japan.

Is Singapore at war?
One Douglas
Chua wrote to the ST forum on 10 Aug that we need to buy the anti missile iron
dome system to protect the island from rocket attacks by terrorists from Batam?
What about terrorists finding themselves in strategic locations across the
causeway firing rockets at aircraft in and out of Changi or at any part of
Singapore? In this kind of ground to air attacks against planes, the dome will
be practically useless.
The
terrorist warfare is affecting many western countries and our neighbours, like
it or not, at war or not, we are at war without our choosing. There is no need
to declare that we are at war in this kind of modern warfare that conventional
weapons and armies are totally hapless. All the mean machines, the super
expensive toys like F35s are only good for show. The tanks, the destroyers,
submarines, fighter bombers and what else are but a misconnect, meaningless
against a moving and solitary target that does not look like a target. But we must buy more expensive weapons, the
more expensive the better, dunno for what, against who, against what kind of
enemies when we should be deploying more people and resources in a real war
that can hit us any moment.
Of course we
are also at another war, a conventional one, In Iraq or Syria, and in
Afghanistan and dunno where in the Middle East. We may not be sending our combatants to engage in
direct warfare, but in supporting roles to protect our medical teams, and air
to air refueling or operating drones for recce missions, the soldiers are in
the theatre of war, in a war zone, can be killed. Singapore has been part of
the American Coalition of the Willing in the American wars in the Middle East
and Afghanistan. This is modern day League of Nations invasion of China in the
1890s.
Some
bloggers were asking, does the govt need to discuss this and get Parliamentary
approval, or even a referendum to go to war.
The question of are we at war is a denial of the reality. Can we really
say that we are not at war when our soldiers are part of the American Coalition
conducting warfare in the Middle East and Afghanistan?
Some may
argue that we are not really at war. See, no casualties, and away from direct
gunfire, maybe out of reach of enemy fire. And our boys and girls can always
come back to have their char kway teow or chicken rice anytime in the comfort
of our airconditioned restaurants and live life as normal.
How far do
we have to go before announcing to the people that we are at war, engage in a
war, and our soldier boys and girls are in the war zones? Up to what extent
before there is a need to discuss this in Parliament and to tell the people
that we are at war and since when were we at war?
Or would
someone want to start another academic exercise to define what is at war and
whether we are technically, literally, or legally at war?
Diary of Japanese Imperial Army Massacres in SE Asia
The Japanese continue to
deny the massacre of hundreds of thousands of Chinese civilians during the Rape
of Nanking in 1937. With tomes of documents, photos and films on the barbaric
and brutal killings of young and old, pregnant women, children, beheading and bayoneting of babies, the Japanese denied,
and still denying that it happened. It was not true, it was not like that, no
such things, only a few hundreds were killed, the liars in Japan would protest.
The Japanese can continue to lie, to deny the naked truth of the hideous war
crimes they committed, the Chinese people would not forget, and so were many of
the Koreans and Southeast Asian people. Oops, maybe many Southeast Asian people
have forgotten, even forgiven the Japanese and even falling in love with the
Japanese as very nice people, very honourable people, very civilised people,
very trustworthy and peaceful people.
I will want to remind
those that have forgotten, that the war crimes of the Japanese to the Southeast
Asian people were all recorded in history. And in a documentary produced by Chris
Nebe, he revisited the major massacres committed by the Japanese against the
Southeast Asian people. No, not just in Singapore but in nearly every Southeast
Asian country but the natives either chose to forget and forgive or through the
ignorance of their own history, could not or did not want to remember. In
the Sook Ching Massacre inn Singapore alone, 90,000 civilians were massacred. Our mobile phone young would not remember a
thing except to play Pokemon. The Japanese have every reason to want to forget,
to whitewash this part of their ugly past, but should the Southeast Asian people
want to?
In 1942, in the Bataan
Death March, thousands of the more than 80,000 Filipino and Australian prisoners
of war died before they reached their destination. This was followed by the
1942 Laha Massacre in Timor of Australian and Dutch civilians, bayoneted and
beheaded in cold blood by the Japanese. Then there was the Banka Island
Massacre in Indonesia where Australian nurses were forced to wade into the sea
and machine gun to their death. One survivor lived to tell the truth at the Tokyo
War Crime Tribunal.
The then Malaya also had
its massacre in Parit Sulong where hundreds of Indian and Australian prisoners
of war were executed. In 1943, in the Pacific Wake Island Massacre, 98
Australian and Dutch civilians working as slave labourers were also executed by
the Japanese. Philippines had more than its share of massacres in the 1943
Palawan Massacre and the Manila Massacre in 1945 where more than 100,000
civilians died and the city destroyed. And the Pinoys love the Japanese. In
Burma there was the 1944 Kalagong Massacre.
Did anyone know of these
massacres, remember them? These are only a few of the many massacres recorded
in history and the many unknowns that were not reported. Not the Japanese,
their history books were whitewashed from these crimes against humanity. What
about the history books of the Philippines, of Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar?
They don't seem to remember them either. No wonder they look to the Japanese as
so civilised and polite people, not knowing their evil past. In Singapore, Sook
Ching was like a bedside horror story minus the cruelties and the gore and
bloodiness of the crime. More than 100,000 civilians were murdered in cold
blood by the evil Japanese. Some young Singaporeans would be asking 'true or
not, don't bluff leh'.
The Japanese may not
want to remember them, may want the world to forget about their war crimes.
Should the victims of the Japanese war crimes simply forget them and best,
believe the Japanese are very nice people, very polite, very kind, very
peaceful, very honourable people?
How can a people be
honourable if they don't own up to their war crimes and barbarism? How to trust
them when they are lying by the skin of their teeth?

China starting to show displeasure with Singapore
Global Times, the unofficial spokeman of China, has published articles
that criticized Singapore’s cosying up with the Americans and the
lavish dinner that Obama hosted for Hsien Loong as a statement of
Singapore’s support for the Americans particularly over the South China
dispute. Singapore’s overt support of the American position is never in
doubt by the numerous articles published in the local media and with
comments from Singapore officials that irked China. And Hsien Loong’s
comments at the White House dinner put squarely where Singapore stood in
the dispute between China and the US.
The Global Times did acknowledge the difficult position of Singapore in a region that is not too friendly and could turn hostile to Singapore and Singapore’s interests and the need to play the American card. The military might of the Americans is sorely needed should the neighbours attempt to squeeze Singapore to put Singapore in its rightful place. China appreciates that but when Singapore leaned too close to the Americans and even overtly took positions that are explicitly anti China, it forces China’s hand.
The Global Times reminded Singapore that it could play a balancing role like in the past by being as neutral as possible. When Singapore started to take sides against China, Singapore would lose this value and strategic role as a balancer between the two superpowers. LKY was able to do what he did because of his ability to respect the interests of the two superpowers without being hostile to anyone. China opened its doors to LKY, giving him special access to China’s top leaders. LKY could share his understanding of Chinese leader’s thinking with the Americans and could advise the Americans because of this special privilege built over years of trust and confidence building.
When this trust is lost, when China perceived that Singapore is no longer trustworthy, but in the American camp, the door will be closed. Hsien Loong or other Singapore leaders will find themselves waiting outside the corridors of Chinese leaders taking cue numbers and waiting to be invited for an audience that would not come. When that day comes, Singapore would lose its usefulness to China and also to the Americans other than being a close military ally like the South Koreans, Japanese, the Philippines and the Vietnamese. The consequences of being relegated to a staunch American ally in the American pivot to Asia would not be in the long term interest of Singapore. Many doors would be closed and many economic deals would be left hanging in the air. The Chinese market would no longer be there, to be easily accessible.
This seems to be the warning coming out from the Global Times. Respect China’s interests and continue to play a strategic balancing role between the two super powers or be sidelined.
The warning to Singapore has been sounded. Whither Sino Singapore relations going forward are now in the hands of Singapore leaders. Would Singapore's media and officials continue to call China's friends as Trojan Horses in public forum to show where Singapore stood in the US China rivalry?

$150k pay check – Should feel sorry for him or not?
Cynical
Investor wrote a piece appearing in the TRE quoting Gilbert’s post of an
unemployed Singapore talent. Here is the quote:
‘Someone wrote to Gilbert Goh saying that he lost his 150k a year job to a FT prepared to accept 40% less. Losing my job was brutal for me financially since I am paying for 2 properties and a car.
I also have a S$100K unsecured loan debt which I took on to pay the deposit for my second home. My wife isn’t working and I have school going children. The first thing I did was to adjust my salary expectations up to 50%. Within 1 week I have applied to almost 500 jobs but none of them successful or called for an interview’.

Cynical
Investor was asking whether we should feel sorry for him. Many in TRE were
asking who did he vote for in the GE. Who do you think such successful, highly
paid Singaporeans would vote for? Given their high income, good jobs, good
pays, landed properties, cars, my guess is that they must be very comfortable
with the system and would not want to have any change. To them the govt have
done a marvelous job and giving them a Swiss standard lf living.
No need to
ask or guess who they voted in the last GE. And many would continue to vote the
same way until they hit a hard wall like this guy and came crawling to Gilbert
to vent their frustration and desperation. But what can Gilbert do other than
to lend them a listening year?
The few
places they could hope to be helped in the job banks started by MOM or to go to
NTUC for more skills upgrading so that they can become a waiter or something
like that and be very grateful for being helped.
I bet many
of these high earners would sneer and shrug it off as one bad luck case as they
go about getting their fat pay, until they ended up in the same shit. Life is
too good for the high earners that they would not think that this kind of
things could happen to them. Not to
worry, it would be someone else, never ‘Me’.
How many
PMETs must be grounded, driven to despair before the walking dead wake up and
say no more? How, big earners, would you be next to write to Gilbert? For
everyone that went crying to Gilbert there could be 10 that resigned to their
fate, remaining jobless or underemployed. There would also be another 10 or 20
going to attend skills upgrading courses conducted by NTUC so that they could
get a new job paying 10 or 20% of what they used to get.
Mind you,
this is the career path for many high earning Singaporeans. It is only a matter
of when will be their turn. 不见棺材不流泪

The 51st state of the USA?
The state visit by Hsien Loong to the USA and the warm reception given to him and his entourage is unbelieveable for a small state. The US put on a charm offensive to show how important and how close Singapore is to the Americans. Obama gave everything he got, no holds bar, to impress Hsien Loong and Singaporeans and the world that this is how being good to the USA would be rewarded.
From another perspective it was like a suitor putting on his best to win the heart of his bride to be, a proposal for a marriage. Was Obama wooing Singapore into the final embrace of the USA? Singapore is very important to the Americans in many ways and has been responding very positively to all the overtures put up by the Americans, a sign that things can be better. Just ask and Singapore will go along, like a willing lass very happy to be charmed and taken for a ride in a courtship.
The days when Singapore played hard to get, played tough, are over. Today the relationship has blossomed and a wedding is on the card, if the Americans are serious wanting the relationship to move to a higher level. And the bride will come with all the strategic assets that the Americans would love to have, better than the strategic location of Israel in the Middle East. Singapore is in the heart of SE Asia and a very important point in Asia. The pivot to Asia would not be complete without Singapore, cannot be effective without Singapore.
Now, did he propose? Did Obama make his move during this state visit, to ask for the hand of Singapore, as the 51st state of the United States of America? Did he swipe the feet of the bride off the ground? And did she said yes?
It is not a bad idea that Singapore becomes the 51st state of the USA. And we would become the most powerful nation in the world, or a part of the most powerful nation in the world. And we will have a new flag and a new national anthem to sing and have a lot of things to be proud of, a lot of things to celebrate like all the gold medals in the Olympics and Fourth of July.
Singapore the 51st state of the USA? Possible, good? What do you think?

What is the WP going to do with the AGO reports?
The AHPETC story has not ended and will never end for the next 100 years. This is called tenacity, to keep repeating a wrong, to keep it alive and to keep reminding the people of the wrong. It is politics of little Red Dot.
The WP must be groaning in pain. Their strategy of not rubbing it in when they had a chance, or many chances, but to play ball, to play good boy, has boomeranged. The PAP is not going to appreciate that and in the case of the AHPETC, they are going to screw the knife deeper into the bones, to make it stick for good. What else or when would the PAP be able to find another opportunity to screw the WP real hard?
The AGO reports have highlighted many flaws and mismanagement or bad governance. Would the WP decide to return PAP the favour, dig in, be just as tenacious, bite as hard and refuses to let go, like the AHPETC case. To do so they would need a dedicated team to dwell into the nitty gritty of the cases highlighted, turn over every stone to expose the dirt, like the AHPETC case. Or would they continue to play ball, say one time ok leow, be nice, no need to rub it in, no need to rub so hard. Whatever happened happens, let’s move on?
Or maybe the problems raised by the AGO were nothing compared to the AHPETC so there is no comparison and nothing much to talk about. Back to sweep the streets and make sure the estate is clean, go and take care of municipal issues, and to make sure no more AHPETC problems to be aired like dirty laundry again?
What is the battle plan and strategies of the WP? More of the same? Don’t rock the boat, no need to harp on an issue and things will be fine? Or will the young turks in WP want to stand up and fight and fight tenaciously like the PAP?

China must never go through the trauma of American and Japanese aggression again
China must never go through the trauma of Western and Japanese aggression again
China must never go through the trauma of foreign aggression again. USA in trying to maintain its number one world super power status insists on containing China from peaceful development. The whole American administration is infested with insane, mad and crazy crooks, rogues and scoundrels and warmongers who can't accept the rise of other countries. They are intent on pinning Russia and China down and to eventually destroy the two countries. This is because they know that Russia and China are the only two countries capable of stopping USA from carrying on its evil heinous acts and prevent it from exercising global domination and hegemony. If USA pushes China too much to the wall, China will fight back A war with China now will become the nemesis of the Evil Empire , USA. China must continually build up its military and economy from strength to strength to resist American and Japanese aggression and to stop their travesty of justice.
Below I quote an excerpt from an article by a prominent writer and peace advocate :. ANDRE VITCHEK
SOUTH CHINA SEA : WATCH OUT : DRAGON COULD BITE
"China is fuming. It has obviously had enough, it is reaching the limit. For decades it tried to appease the West, to play by international laws, to be a good and responsible member of the international community. And for decades it never interfered in the internal affairs of other countries, it sponsored no coups and attacked no foreign lands.
Even its counter-propaganda has been measured, polite and mild.
All this has gained China no admiration, not even respect!
It is being constantly antagonized, provoked and encircled both militarily and ideologically. Not far from its territory are deadly US military bases (Futenma and Kadena) located on Okinawa, there are enormous bases on the Korean Peninsula and increasing US military presence in Southeast Asia, particularly in the Philippines. There are constant exercises and naval maneuvers near its shores and just recently, a decision by South Korea (ROK), to allow the US to deploy an advanced missile defense system (THAAD) in Seongju County.
In Nagasaki, my friend, an Australian historian Geoffrey Gunn commented on the situation:
“Well, the fact of the matter is that China is indignant at this encirclement. China is indignant that Washington backs Japan, that Washington is ready to support Japan’s non-negotiation policy over the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands. So we see, in this situation, a clearly indignant China, and Japan that is taking a basically aggressive position in relation to so-called territorial integrity. So Pacific Asia is increasingly becoming more belligerent, more conflict-prone East Asia.”
The propaganda against China in both Europe and North America is reaching a crescendo. The more socialist (Chinese way) it is once again becoming, and the closer its ties with Russia become, the more powerful the ideological attacks are from Western governments and mainstream media.
The latest decision (over the South China Sea dispute) of the ‘kangaroo’ arbitration court in The Hague appears to be the last drop.
The Chinese Dragon has risen in anger. Tired of receiving punches, mighty and strong, it has sent a strong message to the West: China is an enormous and peaceful country. But if threatened, if attacked, this time the country will be firm and determined. It will defend itself and its interests.....
To antagonize China is not only wrong; it is dangerous and shortsighted. Beijing has been backing up and compromising too long, for many decades. It will not any longer. Chinese people demand fairness. The Philippines should realize that the West is using their country as a proxy, for its imperialist goals.
To involve Western courts in internal Asian disputes, as is being done by the Philippines, will only aggravate the situation. To shoot at Chinese fishing vessels in the disputed waters (as was recently done by the Indonesian navy) can only escalate tensions (Indonesia already has a horrid historic track record in relation to China – banning the Chinese language, culture and even names, for decades, after the bloody Western-backed coup of 1965).
For the time being, China will be applying a ‘wait and see’ strategy. Once again, it will use its diplomacy, re-launching bilateral negotiations with the Philippines, Vietnam and other countries.
But if the West refuses to back up, and if some of the Southeast Asian countries continue to act as proxies for the West, Beijing would most likely use one of the tougher options. One would be setting up an air defense identification zone over the South China Sea. Another would be direct military escalation – greater naval and air force presence in the area.
And what is the position of the world? No matter what the Western propaganda is trumpeting, only a handful countries, mainly the US and its closest allies (5 at the time this essay is being written), have publicly supported the Philippines and the Ruling coming from The Hague. Over 70 nations support China and its belief that disputes should be resolved through negotiations and not arbitration. The rest of the world has remained ‘neutral’."

USA will have to pay a price for its crimes against humanity
Just like the Japanese, the Americans will have to pay a price for its crimes against humanity
The Americans and the Western European countries are assuming that they are still the supreme masters on earth and that no one can stop them in their evil doings and wicked deeds on trampling on other countries big or small. Decades ago in the 1950s to 1970s the Evil Empire overthrew dully elected governments in many South American countries and replaced them with USA lackeys, That tumultuous period was known as the operation First Condor in which many nationalists were cold bloodedly massacred by the Americans and their lackeys.
Then immediately after the Second World War USA planned to take overall control of the Middle East Arab countries.USA instigated and provoked wars among the Arabs by deepening their distrust and hatred among them by playing on their religious differences viz the Sunnis and the Shites. Then in 1948 USA with the help of UK planted a Jewish state in Israel to act as a proxy of America to police and control all the Arabs. Since then the Arabs in the Middle-East have never known peace. Saddam Hussein of Iraq and Gaddafi of Libya were brutally murdered and their countries left in chaos with hundreds of thousands bombed and killed by the Americans and millions left in untold suffering and greatly impoverished. Meanwhile USA and the Europeans enriched themselves with their virtual control of the oil and other natural resources in the region.
They still want to treat China as they did to her in the 1830s to the 1940s , when China was attacked by eight to twelve western countries and Japan and in which China lost millions of square miles of land to the conquering marauders, the British, French, Russia, Japan and USA. USA continued to interfere in the Chinese Civil War from the 1930s to 1940s and right up to the present.China would have liberated Taiwan and there won't be a divided China had USA not stationed its Seventh Fleet to stop China from accomplishing its task of national unity.
USA provoked and started the Korean War in1950 with the motive of destabilising and weakening further an already injured and very feeble impoverished China.During the Korean War USA threatened to nuke China . Then it did a very heinous and most immoral thing when it freed many first class Japanese war criminals after the Second World War, instead of committing them to death by the firing squad. Emperor Hirohito and Abe's grandfather were the two foremost war criminals that should be sentenced to death. But both and many of the high class diabolical Japanese scientists and generals who worked on the Unit 731 chemical and biological war programmes were released under two agreements. Japan would hand over to USA the thousands of tons of gold in which Japan robbed from the people in China, Korea,Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand , Indonesia, Malaysia and Burma. Japan must also hand over to USA in toto all the records of their experiments in chemical and biological warfare research. Emperor Hirohito was the number one war criminal who should be hanged for inspiring the Japanese to extremely cruel and brutal warfare against conquered people and Abe's grandfather was the minister in charge of the toxic inhuman Unit 731 in which very cruel and painful experiments were conducted on living persons. Abe's grandfather made sure all the germicidal experiments like bubonic plague, anthrax, small pox and flu were conducted on the Chinese, Koreans, Filipinos, Indonesians and some westerners while they were alive. The victims suffered slow dragging painful death . In freeing the first class Japanese criminals America was complicit in the crime against humanity. America has yet to pay a price for this. The freed Japanese scientists began to work as heads of American and Japanese universities in charge of germ and chemical warfare experiments. Many of them became heads of huge commercial corporations.
The Americans are just as cruel and evil in diabolical deeds. They always use the terms " democracy" and " human rights" as a smokescreen to hookwink the world to cover their evil deeds of carrying out regime change against countries which do not toe the American dictates. They horrendously murdered and killed millions of innocent people by their mass bombings through super bombers or drones. They are creating wars everywhere to keep their war industries humming and to enrich themselves. All these diabolical deeds are done to maintain American supremacy and world hegemony and its number one position in the world .Just like the Japanese , the Americans will have to pay a price for their crimes against humanity.

What to do with the taxi drivers?
Singapore is
testing the use of driverless taxis this year when a fleet will be launched to
ply the streets. If successful, more will be put on the road and they could be
a hit among the commuters. Socially and
security wise driverless taxis would be the preferred choice than walking into
a taxi driven by a stranger. And if unlucky, bad things could happen, not
talking about some rude and nasty ones.
If this
driverless taxi project is a success, where would all the taxi drivers going to
find another job? This is a new
competition and eventually driverless taxis will be replacing those driven
ones. The change could mean several thousand of taxi drivers going out of job,
or at least a majority would be out of jobs, leaving only a few diehards to
serve those that could not use mobile apps.
Are we
looking at a game changer, a new lifestyle to getting use to? Whither the last
bastion of jobs for Singaporeans? Hurry, think of more training courses for the
taxi drivers that would be looking for new jobs, or to retire for good.
Upgrading courses should be aplenty as taxi driving is not that much high skill
compares to PME’s jobs. It is not easy to design skill upgrading courses for
experienced and highly trained PMEs and to convince them that after upgrading
their skills they can look forward to a low paying job that may not pay enough
for their day to day living. For taxi drivers, any job would be a skill upgrade
and could be paying more.
With
driverless taxis, the taxi driving vocation could join the dinosaurs or the
dodo birds.

Why Redbean did not reply?
Cynical Investor wrote an
article in the TRE titled ''The truth about a China apologist'' and asked why
redbean did not reply to him and a few others as well. The answer, why redbean
did not want to reply is the same as why Confucius did not want to explain but
agree with a 3 season man that there is no winter. Confucius knew that he could
not convince the 3 season man that there was really a season called winter that
the 3 season man had not known. How so?
A 3 season man is like some
insects with lifespan of only 9 months, from spring to autumn. By autumn the
insect would have outlived its life and be dead, never would it have a chance to
experience and know what winter is like. To such an insect it is true that there
is no winter. And the insect would be so convinced that he was right and would
not want to understand or listen to people who lived long enough to tell him
that there was winter. The discussion would be a waste of effort and time and it
was better to agree with the 3 season man or let the 3 season man to believe he
was right. Let the 3 season man be happy in his own truth.
There are many kinds of
truth depending on the subjective biases of the individual. Some would believe
that their beliefs are the truth. Some would believe that their facts are the
truth. Some would believe that the fabricated facts are the truth just like the
WMD in Iraq or Osama was the master mind behind 911. Some would believe the
Americans are the most peace loving people despite being at war for the last 6
decades and killing hundreds of innocent lives. Some would also believe the
Americans practices rule of law and accept and abide by international
laws.
Just leave the 3 season man to their own thinking and logic. No
need to sweat the small stuff.
Singapore, rock solid partner of USA rewarded
During the
heydays of the British Empire, they rewarded their subjects with OBEs, KBEs or
GCBEs and a chance to kneel before the Queen of England to be knighted. In
modern day diplomacy, Empires still reward their allies and individuals for
their contributions to the Empire but in different ways. Singapore has just
been rewarded by the USA with a state visit and with the President of the USA
hosting a state dinner to our Prime Minister in all pomp and pageantry. Many countries, especially those in Asean would
be green in envy for the kind of honour and reception Hsien Loong was getting
at the White House.
What is this
rock solid partnership all about? It is all about shared interests and common
mission for a peaceful and prosperous Asia Pacific and a more secured world
backed by the American military pivot in the region, with military bases and
weapons to make sure there is peace and security. What have Singapore done to
deserve this honour apart from hosting US military personnel and equipment here,
like airbase for the P8 Poseidon spy planes and littoral combat ships?
Singapore’s
unstinting support for the TPP is another big act that is most appreciated by
the Obama regime. Not sure if this would turn bad when Trump or Hillary takes
over. Singapore’s support for the US military pivot and the military
intervention in the South China Sea need no further explanation. Not sure if
Vivian’s absence as the co chairman of the China Asean Summit during the final
briefing with Wang Yi is also part of this rock solid partnership. But
Singapore’s undying and continuous call for the Americans to remain in the
region to balance the growing influence of China is sweet music that the
Americans would love to hear, being invited to dominate a region by the
countries in the region.
There are
many other cooperation and support that Singapore offered to the Americans,
like being part of the Coalition of the Willing and sending military personnel
to Iraq and other areas of military operations that the Americans are involved,
for peace and security of the world of course.
Asean
leaders that want to be invited to the White House and to be honoured and
feasted like Hsien Loong sure have a lot to learn from Singapore and a lot to
do to deserve such a great honour. Malaysia can count itself out for a long
time or at least until Najib is removed and a more amicable PM that enjoyed
being invited to the aircraft carriers takes over. Philippines would stand a
good chance to be the next guest of honour in the White House. Unfortunately
the chance has diminished without Aquino. Aquino would definitely be invited
after The Hague Tribunal Show and would be greatly appreciated and honoured if
he remains as the President.
China too
has something to learn from this American diplomacy to honour its allies and
rock solid partners. China may want to invite Hun Sen and wife and host an
equally big dinner in Zhong Nan Hai with all the pomp and pageantry to reward
Cambodia for the behind the door support in the last Asean Foreign Ministers
Meeting in Vientiane. Hun Sen would feel better even if he is called a Trojan
Horse by those in the American camp. Trojan Horses enjoyed being rewarded when
the contribution is significant and to the interests of China. The Chinese must
learn to be suave and savvy in black tie diplomacy as well.

The Americans dropping out of the computer race
After bragging for several decades as the most advanced country in super computers, the Americans have unashamingly bowed out of the race. They could not compete with the Chinese anymore with the Chinese claiming the bragging right for having the world’s fastest and second fastest super computers built in China. The Americans have fallen to a distant third and knew that they could no longer catch up with the Chinese and even declared that it was a race for nothing.
Is it really nothing to talk about? There have been talks in some corners of the military circle that the super high speed computers could have military applications like decoding the ICBMs or cruise missiles in flight, capture them and turn them around to where they came from or to where the Chinese wanted them to hit. This is ground breaking computer technology that only super speed computers could do to capture an ICBM in flight within minutes.
If China can perfect this technology, the US ICBM arsenal as well as those in the nuclear submarines and cruise missiles is as good as belonged to the Chinese and part of the Chinese intercontinental nuclear arsenal. The Chinese Anti Access and Area Denial strategy backed by their anti aircraft carrier missiles was a breakthrough in changing the military balance vis a vis the Americans.
The super computer technology would change the game of intercontinental and space based ballistic missile warfare. The deployment of super speed computers to capture ICBMs in flight would turn the table around against the Americans rendering all the American ICBMs impotent, afraid to launch for fear of being turnaround.
The military war game is changing rapidly in favour of China and the Americans are losing their grip on this hi tech warfare with computers fighting computers. The Americans have given up the race to the moon and space with the mothballing of NASA. Now this super computer race is another race that they have given up.

The end of the RAHMAN prophesy
The RAHMAN prophesy is
coming to its end with Najib fulfilling the last alphabet N. For the
uninitiated, the alphabets of RAHMAN spell out the first letter of the names of
the Prime Ministers of Malaysia starting with Tengku Abdul Rahman where the
RAHMAN originated, the following PMs were Abdul Razak, Hussein Onn, Mahathir,
Abdullah Badawi and now Najib.
The question is that
we are now at the end of the RAHMAN prophesy, then what? Is Najib going to rule
forever so there is no need for another formula to replace the RAHMAN formula.
And by the look of things, Najib is going to rule for a long time to come.
Whatever, Najib cannot be an immortal and it will come to an end. So, what is
the next change? Would a new formula be found and how would it take shape?
The short 6 alphabets
may be a sign that Malaysia will have only 6 PMs and subsequently there will not
be any more PM. It could mean the end of Malaysia, with Malaysia breaking into
different states and new countries. This is not far fetch given the
artificiality and superficiality of the Malaysia concept. The two east Malaysian
states of Sabah and Sarawak are all itching to break away from the Malay/Islam
dominated country. They just don’t fit in given their population and religious
profiles. And there is Johore that is increasingly losing patience with the
Federal Govt meddling and messing up its development plans. Kelantan and Penang
have different reasons to want a different formula or status quo.
There could be another
possibility, that Malaysia will become a dictatorship, ruled by a dictator and
no need for a PM. The possibility of Malaysia breaking up is high, but a
dictatorship, mmmmnn, what do you think? Najib a dictator?
Look at another
possibility of the RAHMAN formula being recycled with Malaysia remaining as it
is. If this be the case, the next PM would be one whose name starts with the
letter R. Tengku Razaleigh’s name came up immediately. Though ageing but still
going strong and why not? Who else that are in the political limelight today
with a name starting with R? What about newly appointed Economic Minister Abdul
Rahman Dahlan, same name as Tengku Abdul Rahman to start a new cycle? He is
young, only 50 years old and fit in nicely to succeed Najib in another term.
There are two more ministers with names starting with R in Richard Riot Jaem and
Rohani Abdul Karim. But both are light weights and unlikely to be PM
material.
The RAHMAN formula
would rule out many of the close contenders like Ahmad Zahid Hamidi,
Hishammudin, Khairy etc. If this formula is
going to be repeated, a new R must be found that is very influential and
powerful to fit the role of a PM. I have one more R in mind and this candidate
has a very high chance of taking over the rein from Najib.
Still guessing? What
about Rosmah?

My grandfather's toilet
He told me his
grandfather was a kampong head man many many years ago. And his grandfather
told his father this story, and his father told him the same story. His
grandfather wanted to build a public toilet for the kampong. That was when his
headache started. You think building a toilet in those days was so easy ya?
Actually it was, for the unthinking. Building a toilet was the easiest thing to
do. Find a spot, build a small cubicle, and there you are, a toilet, overnight.
But things got
complicated when a smart alec in the kampong offered his help. He told the
grandfather that he had been thinking, obviously a thinker. He said he could
see so many problems about building a public toilet. You need to find the idea
location where it could be used by the most people. It must be conveniently
located, the smell must not disturb the people. It must cater for the men and
women, the adult, the young and the old, and those on wheel chairs. The building
must be robust, of good material. It must be easy for the night soil collector
to clear the shit. It must take into consideration the future when it could be
converted into a flush system....by now the grandfather's head went blank from
information overflow. It was too much to take.
So the grandfather told
him to stop his thinking and just tell him what needed to be done. The smart
alec said it was big problem and he too did not know what to do. He said his
good friend, a consultant, could help. The grandfather said good, go get your
friend to help. The consultant came and went and came back with a long list of
do's and don'ts. The problem got even more complicated and more confusing. The
consultant got into more serious thinking.
The grandfather gave up.
It was beyond him to fathom why got so many problems when he could build the
toilet with the help of a carpenter in the village. He shook his head and told
the smart alec to engage the consultant to build the toilet. The consultant
assured the grandfather village head man that he had thought through all the
problems and there would be no problem after the toilet was build.
A few weeks later a
beautiful toilet was built for the kampong and everyone was praising the
reasons why the toilet was built, its location, design, material used, etc etc.
And the consultant sent the bill to the grandfather village head for $10k. This
was big money in those days when a car cost $3,000. The grandfather was
shocked. Why so much? The consultant said $9,800 was his fee for thinking so
hard about all the problems and $200 was for building the toilet.
End of story. QED. Who
said it is difficult to build a little toilet?
Hilary Clinton The Neo-Con Warmonger
Hilary Clinton The Neo-Con Warmonger
Hillary Clinton is ruthless . She is a mass murderess, a genocider, just like her forebears in the 1600s to 1940s who genocided and exterminated no less than 85 million Native Americans . She is a white supremacist who believes in whole sale mass slaughter of non-white people as seen in her feverish support for illegal wars against Iraq, Libya and Syria. In these illegal wars against Iraq, Libya and Syria she had caused the death of hundreds of thousands of innocent people and the wanton suffering of millions of others and also causing the affected countries to be torn apart in terrible destruction. She has to pay a price for this.
She is labelled in USA as a great liar and is justly called so by Presidential candidate Trump. Indeed she is an international great liar who constantly lies to save her skin. She believes in carrying pre-emptive nuclear attack against Russia and China believing that USA will escape the mayhem and survive. She is downright insane, mad and crazy and inhuman to think that USA can win and survive in a nuclear war.She couldn't be more wrong. Her satanic thinking and action will result in mutual nuclear destruction and annihilation. and end of civilization because Russia and China are more than capable of Second Strike ability. She is not qualified to be elected president of USA. If by chance she is elected president , that will signal the end and the death of America and civilization.
Kill-lary Clinton is a Neo-Con who practices the insidious Neo - Con policies and the Doctrine of Christian Discovery , the American Manifest Destiny and American Exceptionalism and Unilateralism and on which doctrines the American foreign policies are based are really extremely toxic and dangerous. The Neo-Cons do not believe in negotiations to settle disputes real or contrived by USA. Negotiations only serve as a tactic to catch the opponent offguard so that US can take undue advantage to defeat the opponents with comprehensive surprise actions.
She is also known to be brainless and soul-less and has no feelings and compassion for others. The death of thousands of innocent people and the suffering of millions do not mean anything to her. She is inhuman or sub-human and is the epitome of all things evil and savage.
If the Americans are blind to elect her as their president they will be signing their own death knell.

AGO versus AHPETC
Recently the pages of the main
media have been filled with reports from the AGO’s office and PriceWaterhouse
about the lapses in the civil service and AHPETC. I think both are great
readings for those who are wondering what is happening to this exceptional
island. I must confess that other than the headlines, I did not bother to read
more than one paragraph of the reports. I know what they are and where they are
coming. I know the agenda and motives, oops, shouldn’t use such politically
incorrect words. Let me rephrase, I know the content and objectives of these
reports.
My question, which of the
revelations is more important, the AGO’s or the KPMG's report? My impression,
judging from what I saw and read, with Shanmugam appearing in the media and on
TV, he is looking every inch iike the oracle, in style and delivery, the one
that is more important is the AHPETC. Why so? Because no other minister, not
even Shanmugam, appeared to be furious about the findings of the AGO reports.
Some ministers even tried to explain that these were nothing to have sleepless
night over them. They are just normal, it happened everywhere, in every country,
just like the outages of SGX. Nothing to worry about really.
What about the AHPETC, is it also
normal, happened everyhere? Administrative lapses, mismanagement, failure to do
the due diligence, lackadaisical attitude, these are common in big
organisations, cannot be avoided. Luckily we have stringent control mechanism in
place and the scourge of corruption is not there. Here is the big difference.
Nowhere in the whole world would you find an elected MP being made to run a town
council, to be responsible to run a town council just to prove that they are
suitable to run a govt. Not sure if Hillary or Donald Trump have had
this experience to be the President of the USA. So, one cannot say that it
happened everywhere and is normal. It only happened in Singapore in AHPETC, so
it cannot be normal. And since it is not normal, it must be serious.
Please feel free to disagree with
me. I think my age is getting into me and my standard of good and efficient
management has changed over time. Ageing process? Maybe it is the air, the haze,
or the Newater I have been drinking, too much shit in the head and affecting my
vision and thinking.
