Tiananmen – Digging up the ugly past

The US and of course the UN, demanded that China gives an account of this ugly incident that happened 25 years ago, June 4, 1989. Many students died in a student uprising in Tiananmen Square when the army and tanks moved in to quash the protest for democracy in China. The memories of the dead students are deeply etched in the minds of those affected and involved in the protest. This chapter of China’s history would always be remembered with a heavy heart in the political struggle of a new nation rising on its feet after centuries of decadence.

What would happen to China today if the student uprising was successful is a moot point. Would China be more prosperous or thrown back many years in turmoil is any body’s guess. No Chinese would speak kindly of this event, not even those in power in the CCP. It was nothing to be proud of even though it was deemed necessary given the dire situation. Who is good enough to judge this incident?

Such incidents of violation of freedom of the people and the mass killing of innocent civilians would and must bring shame to the perpetrators. Tianamen is an old would and some people may ask why should people be harping about the past? Let the past be history and let the wounds heal.

No, the Americans, the most righteous nation, the defenders of human rights, freedom and democracy, would never allow such acts against human beings to go unforgotten. It must be brought up for an airing annually no matter how long to embarrass the Chinese leaders and to put pressure on them.

What about the atrocious act of fabricating a false charge of WMD against Saddam Hussein’s Iraq that let to the murder of Saddam Hussein and his families, and the killings of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis? Are these violent and wicked acts to be condoned? Should the US and the UN be demanding for a proper account of why the US, the UK and the Coalition of the ‘Willing’ invaded a country, destroyed its infrastructure and economy and killing and wounding hundreds of thousands of innocent people based on a lie? Should those evil leaders, under the pretext of freedom, democracy and human rights, be allowed to go free, no need to answer to their crimes against humanity? And this event happened only 12 years ago, not in the historical past. Why are the Americans and UN completely quiet about such atrocities?

There is a more evil event in the not too distant past, during the Second World War. The abominable crimes associated with 731. Unit 731 was a Japanese concentration camp tasked with the job of testing and developing chemical and biological weapons of mass destructions. Thousands of Chinese, Koreans and Russians were used as guinea pigs by the Japanese monsters to test biological and chemical agents. Many were cut up alive, with no anaesthesia, to gauge the tolerance of human suffering from pain. Pregnant women were dissected in the same way to remove the babies and subsequently dumped into the rubbish heap to die. Chemical and biological agents were injected to the human guinea pigs and released to the cities to infect the population as experiments.

What did the Americans say about it? What did the UN say about it? The US was in fact the biggest beneficiary of the experiments conducted in Unit 731. They made a deal with the chief scientists and Unit Commander for his freedom from war crimes in exchange for all his knowledge of chemical and biological warfare information. The evil scientists were set free and the US kept all the records of the cruel experiments. Should the UN and US demand the US to account for this drastic deal and for the Japanese to pay for this crime? NO! They happily kept quiet about it, not to be spoken again.

The recalcitrant Japanese monsters went one step further. Instead of regretting their sinful and criminal acts against humanity, instead of apologizing for the crimes conducted in Unit 731, instead of bowing in shame and remorse, they did the opposite. They were proud of Unit 731. The rejoiced what they had done in Unit 731.

In a recent photograph of PM Abe visiting the Japanese Air Force, he was seen sitting in the cockpit of a fighter aircraft, smiling widely and jubilantly. And the aircraft had 731 markings in bold on its side, together with the proud face of Abe. The Japanese never regret their barbaric acts of WW2. They cherished those moments, those cruelties against their suffering victims.

Would the US and UN demand Japan to account for their crimes in Unit 731? No? No need to dig into the past? The crimes against humanity conducted by Unit 371 were many times more brutal, savage than Tiananmen, crimes against human rights, freedom and democracy!

The UN and US cannot be so hypocritical to demand China to account for Tiananmen when their shameful invasion of Iraq and the murder of Saddam Hussein and his families go unnoticed. They cannot keep silence about Unit 731 and support Japan as a country of peace and to be the peace keeper in Asia and ignore such horrific cruel acts against the human kind.

Don’t dig up the past? Why Tiananmen and not Iraq or 731?

Mr RB, China so huge a country with so many states and provinces and different ethnic people.

If everybody wants to break away on the instigation of the enemies of the country to make them weak and poor again, who is to take responsibility if this happens???

So the Tienanmen incident is the domestic occurrence of China and nobody business.

If Teng Siao Ping used force to quell the incident and the country now prosperous and able to withstand and outside threats, the Chinese Nationals should let by past be by past and accept it.

You want your people to be slaughtered by the perpetrators of other countries like the Japs and the Americunts if they conquer you again???

After all, it is Chinese killed Chinese, and it is an internal affair of their own people.

The UN should put George Bush Jr and Tony Blair on trial for war crimes in Iraq. If the UN is not going to do it, the Islamic Countries must take the initiative to drag the UN to do it. Mahathir will be a natural leader to push this agenda.

180,000 people held peaceful march in the Chinese territory
in HongKong. They have way more civil liberties than Singapore citizens.

Seen from the continuing trend of the ruling party, which its votes keep dropping, there could be the dawn of an new era for Singapore?

2016 might see the election, surprised many like the PE by elect?

As usual after the 2011 election, thing became to rises and more expensive, all the stimulus measures they given in 2011 like profit sharing and other incentives got to take back and possibly double it?

Then come the Hougang by elect, which saw the YSL saga, even with these disadvantage, the ruling party all out effort and trying to increase it votes at no much avail, with the new comer Ah Huat, the ruling party make not much headway, only get back a few ten of votes?

Then come the Presidential Election, with all out effort to help the endorsed candidate Tony Tan can only get 34 percent of the votes, the rest went to the opposing voices of TCB, TJS & TKL etc.

Then come the the Punggol East by elect 2013 the MP saga, even as another opposition party that divide the opposition vote, which the people became wiser and more discerning, unexpectedly WP turnaround a 10 percet lost to a win of 10 percent?

If these trend continue with more people access to the mobile internet instead of the main stream media, these could he a major shift in Singapore politics?

The new party Singapore First Party, which borrow some of the ideas of the north europe of empowering the local in contrast to the ruling party outmoded idea of over relying on foreign investments and cheap labour?

The S'pore First Party could pump a recordbreaking amount of reserve to restructure Singapore economy and reduce various expense the the ministers pay and other indirect taxes that cost the bulk of the business cost?

A massive fund is likely to develop Singapore economy to an advanced countries that depend of research and development, the breakthrough of new and international best seller products?

S'pore presently heavily rely on a recordbreaking tourist arrival from a average of 8 million to a staggering 14 millions tourists

Rather then compete with the lower end of the third economy where CHina had huge population advantage at lower cost?

S'pore can't continue to live on the past success where it compete with lower end before the opening up of China?

Late 90s and beginning of 2000 the hollow up of investments to China?

The massive fund will empower the local to build better products through innovation, invention and designing, as in some small countries that produce highly successful individuals and multi national companies?

Singapore can't afford to use the outmoded method of the past, these is internet era, things viral around the world in seconds?

The new party ideas like to pump a record amount of fund to free education, stimulate birthrate and improve standard of living of the lower and middle class?

Recordbreaking fund is likely to help Small and Medium Companies to develop innovative products to sell to the world and getting more help from international experts?

Tianamen? IMO -- move the fuck on. Don't dwell on the past.

Unit 731: It's war lah kotek -- anything goes.

>> The US was in fact the biggest beneficiary of the experiments conducted in Unit 731.

Why not? Nothing wrong. The wrong has already been done.

Wernher von Braun, an SS officer no less, developed V2 used by the Nazi's to flatten London. However, when he and his team were captured, the US "re-purposed" to develop ICBMs and all those wonderful spacecraft used by NASA.

Scientific data and technical knowledge is neither moral nor immoral.

Anyway, in case you've forgotten: "To the victor go the spoils!"

If Tiananmen was not surpressed, there is no modern China now.Chances are China will be divided and "luan". This is what the West and Japs want China to be.
Those bloody Honkies. Why don't they hold a protest yearly on Japanese atrocities ii WW2.I wonder how much the leader are paid. The HK government should investigates.

US/UN should demand Japan to account for their ww2 war crimes against other nations. The Tiananmen protest is china domestic business. China may end up like another india if tiananmen was not suppressed.

Why don't the Honkies hold a protest rally against the Japs atrocities in WW2.

Are the leaders paid to organise
the Tiananmen protest. Is it part of the $5 billion budget. The HK government should investigate.

The Chinese civilisation is a work in progress , it did not stop since it started 5000 years. At times 中国 shrank , at times 中国 swelt. At times it is fragmented, at times it united. Some westerner called it a civilisation State 文明国家 as translated by google. We should look at it from a really long perspective.

civilisation State

文明国家

Hi Anon@4.03pm

The Hong Kongers still very reluctantly want to accept PRC as their rightful Government/Masters.

Too many years under the British and capitalist minds are different and also their lifestyles. That's why any minor policy they want still protest.

Just like the Taiwanese, do not want to reunite with PRC.

Different lifestyles.

If true blue Chinese will unite throughout the WHOLE World, we are a force to reckon with.

Unfortunately, Chinese are are sand, loose in our relationships and kill one another.

Some are even more comfortable with the others than their own kind. But cannot blame them for they are already been adulterated and bastardized and they are no more PURE CHINESE.

TIANANMEN WILL BE RE-ENACTED ON HONG KONG ONE DAY.
ROC, ON THE OTHER HAND WILL NOT FACE IT.
WHY?
BECOS ROC WAS NOT RULED BY THE WHITES BEFORE.

Tiananmen was not just a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea. It was a choice of living united as a proud people, free from foreign oppression, or as a poor divided people with the country splitted and colonised by foreigners and the people living in poverty and without dignity.

Don't think it was an easy choice to make.
